Stopped at the nearby Seafood City but ducked in here for a quick lunch. I had no idea what I was ordering and took the suggestion of the young man at the counter. All I can surmise is this is a fast food Filipino joint. The dish was average at best with the sauce being a little bit manufactured both in color and texture. I had the Palabok with Chicken Empanada. The Palabok is best described as a glass noodle topped with a flavorless sauce. There was no flavor explosion and the Empanada was quite bland. Granted I just came back from Puerto Rico a few weeks ago so I had higher expectations of empanadas. The best part of the meal was the mango cake because it wasn’t overly sweet. I probably wouldn’t come back.

WTF??? I came in for the #4 combo today around 3:00 pm and was STARVING, so I ordered the soup with a chicken empanada and a slice of cake. Man, first thing first, the customer service was weak. But the worse part? The music! It was all these love songs INSLOWMOTION, like Celene Dion(yuck) going super slow. Then, the food? Soup was too hot to eat. The chicken empanada was hard as a rock. And the cake? Dry as heck. All very unfresh. The Red Ribbon in Cerritos has better quality than here. But the worse part? The street to get here was like blocked so you drive on this 1 lane like bumper to bumper. NOTWORTHTHEHOTAGGRAVATION. Best to just drive farther all the way to Cerritos or another Filipino area because this was just a sad place. Another bad thing? There were bums like in front of the Red Ribbon. They literally creep me out. I mean, it seemed super ghetto to me and although next to other Filipino stores, they should keep this area nice so that customers do not think badly of this area.

I’ve been a customer for about 25 years, maybe more. I used to go to the original location in Torrance near Del Amo mall. This is back when we had a Ben & Jerry’s nearby. In fact that’s what was next-door to each other back then. Between Red Ribbon and Golfilck’s, hands-down I’ve always chosen here! The cakes are delicious. My favorite is the toffee crunch cake and my husband likes the black forest cake. Now if you’re more traditional, they have the best ube macapuno cakes as well as mango cake. Are used to really like the fresh lumpia a lot, but I think they discontinued serving than here. Ref Ribbon makes the best cheese mamin, which is a type of sponge cake with shredded cheese imported from the Philippines. This is also much more moist than an American spongecake. They have great emshamasa too. That is kind of like a sweet roll with butter and sugar on top, with a little bit of cheese also. I know some of this may sound a little weird or strange to those not familiar, but I think you should try it out. Tastes much better than it sounds! Some cakes are also sold by the slice. They also carry classic slice, banana slice, chocolate slice, mango bar, brownie slice and all either a dollar 09 or more each.

I think I’m going to be a litto witto bias and give it five stars because I FiNALLY had the chance to stop at this place to get my halo halo!!! Seriously I had not been at a red ribbon for maybe 6 years and went today and they made the halo halo exactly the same! Talk about quality. Anyways the place is cute and small and the service was excellent :) And plenty of parking.

UBEANDMANGOCAKE!!! HOW I’M CRAVINGYOURIGHTNOW! Nothing beats a red ribbon ube cake! I don’t come here for anything else! The chicken empanadas are okay but I dont care for them too much. Every year my fiancé expects his ube birthday cake… yes the design is ugly looking but I can eat like 4 pieces of it hehehe and don’t want to share!

We came here for a good halo halo. It’s summertime again and this could only mean that shaved ice desserts are a must. But i had to say, halo halo here remains unbeatable! With the new mango ice cream scooped and topped on my fine dessert is undeniably the best. I probably say this because I haven’t eaten one in years. But still, it was delicious and I could have a sugar overload if I wasn’t thinking that this isn’t one of my healthy diet line up. One star went to the sticky table! I just strongly disliked it! Get the empanadas and ensaymadas!(It’s pinoy’s finest).

I recommend the hot, flaky and meaty chicken empanadas and the white chiffon butter mamon. They usually have a special on both, buy 6 get 1 free.

I called Red Ribbon five times one right after the other to place an order for pick up. No answer. I walk in and of course it’s not busy. Sidenote, I’ve called plenty of times before to place an order so this should have been the first sign it wasn’t gonna be a happy trip. When I got there, and I ordered the palabok party trays and asked for the eggs on the side, I was met with a dumbfounded look and response. The cashier said to me that the eggs were in the middle. No, cashier, that’s not what I asked for. I need the eggs not on top the palabok and in a separate container. In how many ways do I need to describe to you the way in which I want my palabok tray given to me. On top of that, I could heard the kitchen workers teasing both the cashier and indirectly me because of the way in which I presented my request. Please keep your teasing to yourselves and not within earshot of the customers.

The 5-star rating is only for the ube macapuno roll. Haven’t tried anything else from this bakery. Clean and friendly staff.

Anna messed up the letters on my cake and tried to cover it up by just putting the plastic bag so i would’nt check, once i did she pretended to change it and placed in the bag again. Then i told her please fix the name Diego its not spelled Diiigo. She gave me attitude and changed it. I thought it was very rude. She said it was impossible to get the letters right because of the icing. :/

Great place for cakes and snacks! Need a cake for an occasion? Wonderful and unique designs for small and large occasions. We’ve been getting our cakes here since my daughter was born — that’s 15 years of cakes! The kids’ faves include choco– mocha cake with pieces of crunchy candy pieces. Yummy!

I’ve always wondered how they’re able to pump out so much food with such a small kitchen. Where are you making the palabok? I never actually smell the food being cooked either. It’s a mystery. The food is really good though. They get it out to you really fast, and you get a slice of cake too. What’s not to like?

Located right next to Seafood City Supermarket, Red Ribbon has been recommended to me time and time again for their palabok and ube breads and desserts. Luckily, Combos include a slice of cake and a drink. Perfect for trying both! Order food at the counter, and wait for your number to be called. Employees are polite, and the restaurant is clean. Parking: Large lot shared by the market and a few other businesses in the shopping plaza. Food: — Palabok — Noodles topped with special sauce, sautéed pork, fried garlic, green onions, eggs, and chicharon(fried pork rinds). They definitely do not skimp on the sauce. A bit oily but tasty nonetheless. — Ube Overload Cake — Ube(purple yam) cake covered with white cream frosting and ube cake crumbs. The cake was light and moist. You could definitely taste the ube flavor, but it wasn’t overly sweet.

I pass by Red Ribbon Bakery when visiting the neighboring Seafood City supermarket but had not tried it till now so decided to fix that last weekend. I went late in the evening as getting parking here in the normal daytime hours on the weekend is next to impossible. This is a very small sized bakery but it has been done up well which makes it look much bigger. I grabbed a bucket and picked up a couple of Mamon’s(sponge cakes) in butter and mocha flavor($ 1.35 each). I asked if they had ube Mamon but it seems that they were out so I grabbed an Ube roll($ 2.99) and also an Ensaimada($ 1.65) without knowing what it actually was. I asked if they had a ube cake slice but they were out of that too. Total bill was $ 7.34 which was very reasonable considering what I picked up. I was able to pay with card without any hassles of minimums. Taste wise I was skeptical about the freshness of the Mamon’s but was pleasantly surprised. The butter Mamon was lighter than a sponge cake but not as light as an angel cake and I liked it a lot. I didn’t care too much for the mocha flavored Mamon. The ube roll was not light but felt distinctly doughy. The Ensaimada was a savory sponge cake topped with cheese. I felt this would best be eaten hot rather than in its pre-packaged form. I liked Red Ribbon enough to come back and try out some more of their cake slices but my preferred bakery in this area remains JJ Bakery or at least till 85 degrees opens :)

this place has the best filipino pastries! my favorite cake has to be the mocha crumble! i get it every year on my birthday. i also recommend getting the mango and ube cake because it’s not too overly sweet. they have a variety of baked goods to choose from. mamon is a buttery sponge cake and it has been my favorite since i was a kid! very light buttery flavor with a great amount of cheese on top. it’s almost like a taisan but not so sweet. red ribbon also has some popular filipino foods on the menu. i like the dinuguan which is meat with porks blood and palabok noodles. the serving is pretty small but combos include a drink and a slice of cake. i really like this location because service is ways on point. the workers great each customer and are very friendly. the best part is that they keep all tables clean at all times!

came here to try the mocha chocolate crunch cake but to my disappointment they didnt have slices to sell so i went with my second choice the mango cake. I was not disappointed with that cake very light and tasty. Again like my Jollibee review since it’s in the same square parking sucks at peak times. I hoping to try thr mocha cake soon.

This review is for Red Ribbon’s cupcakes. I saw awhile back that they offer cupcakes and being the cupcake fan that I am, I wanted to try them out. I finally got a chance to try them recently. The cupcakes are $ 1.50 each but you get a better deal if you get them in packs of 4. Packs of 4 are $ 5. This actually is perfect because there are four different types. They have red velvet, ube, mango and chocolate. I went ahead and got the different types to share with my mom. We tried the ube first. Ube was actually one of the flavors I really wanted to try. The ube however was too sweet for me. There are some coconut shreds on top of the frosting and this makes the already really sweet frosting even sweeter. The ube cupcake itself was a little bit too dry for me. The second that I got to try was the mango cupcake. I liked this one a lot better! Mango is actually one of my favorite Red Ribbon cake flavors and I found the cupcake to be as flavorful as their cake. The red velvet cupcake and the chocolate cupcake were the surprise cupcakes. The red velvet cupcake had a different frosting. It was more cream cheese like! Not the best red velvet cupcake but decent. The chocolate cupcake was a surprise because the frosting was mocha/peanut butter like. It’s a lot like their toffee cake. I’m not a chocolate fan but I actually liked this one. The Red Ribbon cupcakes are really good priced at $ 1.50 or 4 for $ 5. They are not however as good as their cakes. It is worth trying at least once though.
