I only gave this place 4 stars because of the food. The place was fairly clean, the cashier was nice. The manager was greeting the customers. The food also came out really fast. They also warn you if something will take awhile — ours didn’t take long at all. We ordered the halo halo, taho and shumai. The shumai was good. The taho is really great. It’s sweet enough and the taho was excellent. I love it! The halo halo is really good. It’s a good portion, there’s a good amount of ube ice cream and flan. No complaints here.

I went here for breakfast and tried their breakfast chow, chunky asada siopao, lomi, meaty beef wonton, and taho. Food is tasty, hot and good. We tried: Longanisa and bangus breakfast chow– good but didn’t like the bangus too sour. Meaty wonton mami– really good, hot and tasty. Great for a meal or a snack. Chunky asada siopao– good for a, snack. Great for the price too $ 1.99. Better buy 2 or three, if you want as a meal. Food is really good, hot. A lot of selections. 5 Service is attentive, pleasant. 5 Cleanliness is 4.5÷5. This is so far a, clean and organized Chowing in Carson City.

This place must be run by teenagers. This place is not at all together, no manager on duty and everyone wants to just stand around and talk about the customers. Came in and placed my order with one of the gals and sat down. The time was 12:37pm. Went across and got something from the other store came back and sat. The gal that originally helped me went on break, she was eating at one of the tables. The guy behind the register that took over didn’t care about the food sitting bagged with my drinks. People came and went and still I sat thinking we were waiting on my lumpia. But no. My food was just sitting there for 10 minutes. The gal that originally helped me came back from break to find the bag and drinks. She asked the guy that took over for her what my food was waiting for. The cooks yelled nothing its been up there. Soo irritated that I had watched my food age I asked for a manager. The gal under her breath said he asked for a manager. The guy that took over said to her. We don’t have a manager. I just took my order and left, this place is a joke to deal with.

The worst customer service. They do have decent fried chicken but lack customer service. Workers behind the counter are talking with fellow workers with their backs towards me. I phoned in an family platter chicken for pickup. When I got there to pickup my chicken they gave my order to someone else and they could not replace my order because they were closing — there goes my dinner. OMGREALLY?!! Ever since I’ve tried to give them a 2nd3rd chance and they never have chicken ready to go… always a 20 – 40 min wait for them to fry some up. BOO. Chow King I’m flabbergasted how this company stays in biz in the USA. I’ll fry my own chicken and save time.

I personally have not tried their food here and that may stay like that due to the negative reviews. Lol, we only go here to get the gulaman drink(sweet grass jelly that is black). We decided to order four drinks and it literally took them half an hour! Service here is ridiculous, and workers here have major staring problems. I. Do. Not. Understand. Pretty strange, if you ask me. But whatever, if you’re around this Filipino Town, try their gulaman, it’s one of Filipino’s staple drink during summer months!

If I can only put no star I will do that, not to be a mean. I was nice at all until I encountered this stupid guy cashier. When I came in there was not much customer, I was first in the line. He didn’t even greet me at all, he just waited for me to order,. I was expecting to get my order right away, but while waiting for my order I decided to go to the next store to buy something but I didnt take long. This studid guy cashier thought that I left already so he cancelled my order even I paid it. I was waiting 30 mins. Or more there until I went to them and asked what happened to my orders. And this stupid guy starting to punch my orders again and used his own card to pay for it. And thats when they just started to make my orders. So I was pissed off that I couldnt even say thank you because I was so hungry waiting for nothing.

Slow service. Crew couldnt get the order right. We ordered for 3 Meaty Wonton Noodles and waited for 15 mins. that was fine, okay. but when our order finally arrived, they gave us just 1 order! So we had to wait for the 2 orders which are supposed to be for DINEIN as well but apparently, they prepared as «TOGO». Oh another thing, idk what’s the use of their buzzer pager when they just call out the order numbers. Mind you the device isn’t even working! Good thing their black gulaman, taho, and halo-halo, are still the best.

Great place for all-time Filipino breakfast favorites! Tocino with garlic fried rice and fried eggs or tapa with garlic fried rice or egg. Their Siopao is also good.

All I got to say is this. I only come here if my friends say«let’s get halo halo» or if my mom says«anak, can you please pick me up something from Chow King» I’ve never liked or appreciated Filipino service. It’s the most horrible experience one can ever go through whether it be here at Chow King or any Filipino restaurant. That’s just my opinion and what I’ve experienced at Filipino restaurants that I’ve been to. If anyone can vouch for a Filipino restaurant that has phenomenal service pleeeeeeease direct me to that restaurant. Lol! The food here is whatever, but I’d rather have my auntie’s, uncle’s, lolo’s, or lola’s home cooking instead.

Came here some months ago after craving the Chinese Style Fried Chicken. I had to wait at a table for at forty minutes after ordered the aforementioned food to go along with some Siopao. When my food finally came, they told me I had to wait at least another fifteen minutes for my Siopao to arrive, and I reluctantly did so. After that, I took both of my orders and went home. The food was alright, but I felt waiting 45+ minutes was not worth it. If I knew the service would be so slow to begin with, I would have never come at all!

A result of my family and I walking into this place: — INGENERAL: just plain horrible — First, there is a limited selection of menu items to order. — Whenever they launch a new food item, just stupid and why??? — every item is either slobbered in sauce, covered in oil, or drenched in fat… or all three! — could you put less salt in that freaking soup?!? I ordered soup, not a salt fiesta! — just plain disappointed, you’re supposed to feeding the customers, not trying to give them early heart disease!

Service is bad I ordered 3 halo halo and when it came out ice cream is melting. When I tasted it some of the ingredient is sour which supposed not too but almost taste like panis. I asked several times for 1 plastic bag for my halo halo caused I didn’t finish it and cashier/server christine just ignored me. I know she needs to attend some customer too but the plastic is just beside the table where some of the ready foods will be served. Can’t she just grab one before she takes another order? Its just one hand away from the food table. When I left to get my bag my mom stand up and she ask it her herself. And I was wondering. Why do their supervisor or team member letting someone walk in and out to their work area just wearing shorts, shirts and slippers when I think their not on duty that time. Its ok to talk to your workmates but at least do it in a proper way. Like in a break room or rest area. Not like customers seeing them just getting some pineapple juice in a can and bring it on their table. Just be proper at least just ask someone who’s working to get it for you. Cause you know Cleanliness is a priority in your establishment And addition to that is safety of everyone else. What if that person slide in your work area because he was wearing slippers. You guys will be in big trouble. Hope you would consider telling everyone your policy. For everyone safety.

Slowww service, mediocre food. Come for the halo halo but that’s about it. It’s the only thing I enjoyed from this place. Whatever you order they pretty much take forever to bring out. I had to remind them I didn’t receive mine yet even after shopping in Seafood City for 10 minutes. Food is okay. Ordered the Sweet and Sour lauriat. The only thing that was decent was the pancit bihon that came along with it. Portions were surprisingly small. Imagine a Panda Express sized box filled to like 75%. Lumpiang Shanghai was small. Like half the size of a Vienna sausage small! If you’re craving Filipino food I suggest you go across the street. They have better food, more selection and are quick.

I ordered 5 halo halos and it took over 15 minutes to give us our order. I stood in line just for water and there were so many people working but only one person taking the orders. It’s like the manager didn’t care that there was a line. Smh. They need better service here. An extra star just for the halo halo. :(

The only reason why I came here was because I was craving taho and it seems to be the only place I know that sells them. I came around 12pm and it wasn’t packed so I thought I would get my order fast. Well, that sure wasn’t the case. It took 30 minutes for my order to be ready. When I finally got to eat my taho, I couldn’t believe there was hair in it. I wouldn’t even bother coming back.

After many years of going to Seafood City, Red Ribbon, and the Valerio Tropical Bake Shop, I finally try this place! I ordered the shumai. It was good. Not the best dimsum, but acceptable. I also shared a halo halo with my mom. It was good! And it’s cheap! Totally worth the long wait, dirty floors and tables, poor air conditioning, and flies everywhere. xD Btw, all the ingredients to make the lovely halo halo are inside the Seafood Market: the ube ice cream, and all those colorful little jellies and such.

Three and a half stars from me! This review is just for the Halo-Halo dessert. I’ve been here to eat a few times years ago but the menu’s changed quite a bit. It’s not as good as it use to be in my opinion. I did remember I loved their Halo-Halo here and since it’s been hot lately, I thought I’d drop on by. I dread coming into this location’s parking lot. Always crowded and a good wait for a spot to open up. It seems as though people like to just hang out here. Now let’s get down to the Halo-Halo. It’s almost, but not quite how I remembered it. You get a mixture of several types of sweet beans, sago pearls(palm stems), jelly, and coconut meat at the bottom of your shaved ice that’s drench in sweet milk. This is topped off with ube(purple yam) ice cream and slices of saba banana. Halo-Halo is Nice and Sweet Here! My only complaint is that they lower the temp. on their freezer. My ube ice cream came out melted and über soft(definitely not how I like my ice cream). It’s the first time I had saba in Halo-Halo and I loved it! I’m sure I will be frequenting here this summer! FYI, this baby’s got 680 calories!!! You need to work extra hard for this one!
