Denny’s

Omg we ordered a simple omelette here, and we’ve been waiting 45 minutes with no food yet! We usually enjoy going to Dennys, but this is crazy! There’s hardly any other customers here — and I can see why.

Came in on a snowy night with an appetite for a cheeseburger and shake. Got my fix and was treated to great service by the hostess and waitress.

Meh. I go to the local college and tend to have one class in the morning and one in the evening. Often I grab something to eat after class. Denny’s is my «I think I want something more than a McDonalds Sausage Biscuit» and I have time to kill place. I usually get the grand slam where you can pick four items for 6.79 (7.31 w/​tax.) The waitresses are friendly. But they definitely try and rush you out. Usually in restaurants you ASK for your check. 40% done with my meal at this place and all of a sudden there’s a check in front of me. I’ve been here multiple times and they ALWAYS do it. I always tip. Maybe it’s because I always add the tip to my credit card? Regardless, I don’t care if it’s Denny’s, service is service and I feel like they most definitely need to improve here.
Also, I NEVER get a drink here because my go-​to is coffee and here they charge you $ 2.09 for a steaming cup of poison. Seriously, what’s in that shit? Dark matter!
Anyway, the food is okay. Enough to go back, but nothing spectacular. Would I go here for a birthday breakfast, hell no. But the $ 7.31 is only around 3 – 4 bucks more than I’d spend at McDonald’s to get better, cooked food, and an actual sit down meal.

I can never understand why the ratings here are so low. My family and I have been coming to this location for years and both the service and food are consistent.
It’s dennys, it’s not gourmet. This location is on par with all other locations I’ve been to. I’ve never had an issue with the food that was not quickly resolved by the attentive staff.

One of the better Denny’s experiences I’ve had. Keeping this short as everyone knows Denny’s, but just so you know, food was great, order was right, restaurant was clean, service was accurate, friendly, & fast and the staff was polite and super nice.

Absolutely the worst Dennys I’ve ever been to. I’m pretty sure the host was strung out. He started off the night with talking crap about the other ppl working. There were only 3 table of ppl there & somehow our food was cold when we got it. Very disappointed. That place needs to be condemned. zero professionalism. When we complained, he just shrugged his shoulders. Is like to speak with a manager about who they have working for them.

The best part of this place that they have a great MENU in the prices are very cheap!!! for example they have $ 2,4,6,8 choices!

LOVE this place. We’ve always come here for little family get togethers. If we can’t ever decide what we’d like to eat, we always come here. Food is always great, service is always superb, and they’ve even remodeled the place to look a little more modern. My favorite is the grand slam with blueberry pancakes! Love sitting at the bar when it’s just me and someone else!

Wow, now I know why this Denny’s has such a low rating! I should have checked Unilocal first. Well, normally I don’t do Denny’s, but I was in Carson City to visit a friend and it just happened to be my birthday! I had some time to kill, so I heard Denny’s has free breakfast on your birthday. Hell, yeah! I guess there a reason it’s free, or it may just be this location. First off, the restaurant has seen better days, it all beat up looking. Sitting at the counter, holy shit, what the hell is wrong with these counter seats. Besides hard as hell, and wobbly, some seem to be permanently facing a crooked position. Like if you sit there, you’re not facing straight at the counter. I switched seats.
I didn’t want to look like a total cheapskate, and just get a free meal and water, so I got coffee. Things just keep going wrong. The guy who looks like some gangster (the non-​Italian ones), and pours me the dregs of the coffee … I get ¹⁄₃ of a cup! WTF? Says he has to brew some more. Then on top of this, the coffee cup is all stained and icky looking. See my pic! Get some new coffee cups Denny’s! So for the birthday free breakfast, you get a 4 item combo Gran Slam. I didn’t want pancakes or any of that see thru bacon, so I got 2X eggs and 2X hash browns. When my food arrives … yeah, I finally get a cup of coffee! Looking at that plate, sure didn’t look like 2X on the eggs and hash browns … eh? What do you want for free? The eggs taste like, well, not real eggs. I ate some any ways. The hash browns were sort of OK, not really cooked enough on the inside though. The service was very lackadaisical and well, I though I was in laid back Mexico or something. At least I got out of there for $ 2.50!
I’ve been to better Denny’s before, not that I go very often. The last good one was in Beatty NV. and that was the best place in that town to eat!

I went here on Thursday not to get some dessert with my family. When the desserts we ordered arrived they looked horrible. I had ordered the apple crisp and there was a very tiny amount in the bowl with this huge chunk, not scoop, of ice cream. My daughter ordered the same thing and she had a huge chunk of apple crisp and this tiny dallop of ice cream. I have ordered this many times before and never had such a tiny serving. My sister and her fiancé had ordered banana splits and there scoops looked like they used a teaspoon to scoop out there ice cream. My brother in law was totally missing the vanilla scoop. We called the waitress over and to me she said thats the serving size you get to which I replied well then why is my daughters twice the size as mine? Her reply was oh well do u want apple pie? If I wanted that I would of ordered that. when my brother and sister asked about there desserts her reply was oh well I was having a hard time scooping the ice cream. We ended up telling the waitress we were just going to leave. I can now see why there was really nobody there when we arrived. Horrible service, even worse customer service.

When in a new place, sometimes familiar things are far more comforting
than venturing out on a local breakfast spot.

Went there for breakfast, I ordered a simple breakfast scrambled eggs, bacon crispy, n hashbrowns. Scrambled eggs were runny, bacon fatty not crispy, hashbrowns burnt to a crisp. That was horrible waitress came over I told her bout my food complaint all she asked was do u want a to go box, which I replied hell no! She got my husbands order all wrong n she didn’t care bout his being wrong he ordered the prime rib sizzling skillet n he got chicken I kept call her lots of eye rolls. Actually spoke to manager who didn’t seem to care except for the fact I was bothering him from talking to the girls working there laughing n drinking coffee. No cares about customers.

The food was good but within 45 mins I starting with diarrea and vomiting I came home and have a fever.

Hey, it’s Denny’s so high expectations are bound to be foiled. But, still the hands down best hamburger (the meat patty is always perfectly cooked in seasoned juicy goodness) and decent cheap kids meals anywhere around as far as I’m concerned.(Kids eat free five days a week) Excellent prices and good service.
Me and my 6 to boy fed, full, happy for under 12.00 minus gratuity.
Now if they could only get that cigarette stinch and pale yellow décor and weak flourescent lighting to change in all the Denny’s restaurants u would easily have a four star experience.

I will not be going back, service was horrible as we walked thru the door we stood there waiting to be seated a male server come up to us didn’t even greet us just pointed at a table and said is that okay. From the time that we sat down to the time he actually took our order 20 minutes had past. He was so rude we asked for straws because he didn’t give us any and when we asked for them he just rolled his eyes. The manager was just sitting around didn’t notice the lack of customer service.

Wife and I have been to this particular store many times over the last five years, usually for breakfast. Like I wrote in my tip, it’s decent. We generally eat breakfast here and their breakfast foods are generally acceptable or better. The coffee is always good (they run a lot of coffee through these places) and the staff is generally friendly and attentive.
There have been a few times we had a short wait for service, but that’s happened to us at many other restaurants as well.
Best times to visit are off-​peak. It’s much quieter then and service is quicker.

What the hell was I thinking. Got talked into going for breakfast. The waitress came by picked up tips from table. We never saw her again. Had to ask manager to help us. Took 30 min to get breakfast which was awful. Never again.

grabbed a breakfast burrito, and used my coupon. not much to say here, the waitress was great up until she left the bill on the table and that was pretty much it. had to grab someone to get a togo box and when checking out no one had access to the register. had to wait awhile after hear everyone say over and over again «someone will be right with you».

Being that Denny’s is a chain I really don’t expect too much. Though I must say the service was good and the waitresses very friendly. This location is fairly well kept and cleanly. The food is hit or miss depending on if what you order is to see a deep fryer or not.
