Food was pretty good, the pops potatoes are great and the gravy was lite which was nice. Eggs Benedict was decent and so was the hungry mans breakfast. Service was so so, our waitress was nice BUT it took forever for refills on our coffee and to get waters took until our meal was almost completed. Maybe we will give this place another chance. This place ranks better than Heidi though.

Their cinnamon roll is a good value but their hungry man breakfast, with a hefty $ tag left me not full. Maybe it is indeed for a hungry man, as it wouldn’t take much to fill an empty stomach.

This is a decent little place. Have only been a couple times. Food is good, service is ok. It’s a bit claustrophobic when it’s busy. Again, coffee isn’t great. Love the big cinnamon rolls, though!

I’ve been coming here for a number of years and to say the least I think the service has gone down hill. I’ve come here the past few months and about 3 out of 5 times I’ve had not so great service. This last time I waited almost 45 mins for scrambled eggs with spinach, potatoes, and fruit. The sad thing is that there were only 3 or 4 other tables with 1 – 2 people per table. I’ve also been served watered coffee aka Texas Tea server also times. One last thing is that my mom and I came for breakfast and the owner was eating breakfast with his wife at the table next to us and we heard them talking bad about their employee with a fellow employee. Not the time and place when your customers are right next to you. I will be taking my business else where from now on.

I found this restaurant through Unilocal when i was looking for a breakfast place. We love this place. Reasonably priced, friendly service. I suggest it to anyone. It is really easy to find.

Thoroughly disappointed. Just left the restaurant after spending an hour and still no food. Watching the owner and his wife chat with customers and fill coffee and water while one waitress tried to help everyone with almost every table in the place full. We have had similar experiences before but chalked it up to going to breakfast on a weekend. We thought we would have better luck on a Friday morning, no success. We will not be going back again. Too bad too, when we get food, it is really good.

This place is cute and quaint, with a Hawaiian theme. We had really scrumptious eggs Benedict, which I had the vegetarian option. The lady that served us was really nice. We did read beforehand about the cinnamon roll, and seriously, this thing is ginormous! It served all four of us. Great service, great breakfast! The people that worked there were really nice as well.

This place was good. The owner is very friendly. He is still very active in the success of this business. He told us the history behind it. Now for the food. Breakfast was great. The cinnamon roll was huge. Must try.

Best place for a good breakfast! I also love the teriyaki rice bowl for lunch. This is a charming little place with comical books at each table. My husband and I always indulge in them while waiting for our food. We also brought our year and a half old daughter in and they were all very friendly. This place is one of my favorite simply because it makes me feel apart of the community whenever I eat here.

I was really overwhelmed and underwhelmed. The beach theme was overdone and assaultive. So much color everywhere I thought my eyes would bleed. The table placement was awkward — you couldn’t walk a straight line through the place. And they were too close together. I could hear both conversations from the tables on either side of me. When the waitress was serving the table on my left, her bum was hovering about three inches at my table. Impossible to ignore. The service wasn’t great. We sat for a while before being approached at all, and after the waitress brought our food(she turned her head away to talk to a different table while serving us), she seemed to be done with us. We weren’t checked on at all, no drink refills. She was around though, bc she was apparently friends with the guy sitting to my left — and I guess their thing is to laughingly insult one another throughout his meal. Loudly, across the room, as she walked by, as she’s serving other people, whenever. My spicy chicken sandwich was tiny, and had zero flavor. The french fries were disappointing too. Some were huge(like steak fries) that were barely crisp, and then there were a lot of tiny ones that were nearly charred. Bottom of the basket. Irish got bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast and was okay with it, except she didn’t bring him any butter for his toast. Dude likes butter. A lot. I tried to get her attention without luck. I got excited by the«Mom & Pop Diner» image I had in my head. Dammit.

This place gets a big two. Which is very disappointing considering I can walk to this place and have breakfast outside with the puppies on a nice summer day. So the wife and I use to go there all the time, until the service got real bad, a half and hour to hour before you got a refill, orders upon orders coming out to us wrong. We been in there the past 3 times, ordered BLT’s and they keep forgetting the tomatoes. And then we had to wait for 15 to 20 min to get a server over to get the tomatoes. So we moved on to a new establishment!

Stopped by on our way to Reno from Lake Tahoe. Way too much fun and drinks at the Brett Michael’s concert the night before. It’s 12:15 and we are starving and hungover. The waitress forgot about us and I had to ask the bus boy after 25 minutes who would take our order. Finally after 45 minutes we got our food, which was good. Our waitress never even checked on us. Very sad, even with the decent food I will NEVER return. I left a note about my disappointment on the check. $ 26 for two egg dishes. Pretty pricey.

Good service, our server was super nice and attentive. And the restaurant was very cute. It had a beach theme. But the food was extremely bland, no flavor at all. We were really disappointed :/

Great breakfast and reasonable prices. Believe it or not, a tropical décor on the main highway through Carson City. Fun murals all painted by the owner. Fun !!

Nice little comfy place, little joke books and nice atmosphere, but I did not pay for the atmosphere, oh wait yes I did. I came in and was so excited about the menu and so much interesting stuff to choose from and I was overwhelmed, as not to miss the best from this nice little mom and pop shop I asked my waitress to surprise me. Boy was I surprised when she came out with bacon and eggs, WTF. I got bacon and eggs and their special super meal, $ 15 effin dollars for crap that I could not even eat the potatoes. This is the $ 4 Denny’s meal, you gonna charge $ 15 for Bacon and eggs it better be the best damn bacon and eggs, nope. So if you wish to pay for atmosphere and nasty bacon and eggs at gold prices then here ya go.

This place is abysmal. The service is horrid. Food over cooked and cold. However the real reason I will never step back into this mediocre restaurant is the owner and staff. Today I had a long blond hair in my pancakes(in the batter). I am a dark brunette, my twelve year old son has short brown hair. After waiting for nearly an hour for our meal I ask the waitress which is not mine to please tell the kitchen to throw out the pancake batter and sent my food back. The owner comes out to say our chefs are bald. no apology but says you don’t have to pay for it rather curtly; however the waitress laid down the check as he is saying this. I paid for my meal and left. We will NEVER go back to this filthy place again. Not sure how this place stays open since every time I have been(twice in the last 10 years) it’s been poor but today it was down right rude.

Kudo’s to Mom and Pop for bending to the Will of the People and offering hash browned potatoes. They were delightful. I notice that they are only serving one piece of toast, a trend that seems to be getting more commonplace these days. They don’t have a «Denver» omelete per se, but you can order your own with the ingredients listed, and the onions are nice and chunky and the red and green peppers were fresh and delicious. Despite the fact that it was made incorrectly(see my lists) breakfast was very, very good.

What do you do in Carson City on a Saturday morning after you’ve donated two units of red blood cells? They told me to have a hearty breakfast, and so I took their advice. My wife and I selected ‘Mom and Pop’s’ for today’s breakfast and it was okay. When we arrived, around 9, it was about half full, and we were invited to choose our own seat. The sun was shining brightly into the main room, and so, after a couple of minutes in the sun, we moved to other room. My wife had read about the cinnamon roll and so we decided to share one of these, and it was truly a good thing that we were sharing, as it was the biggest cinnamon roll I’ve ever seen in my life. It was literally as big as the plate, and when we cut it in half it was still bigger than a regular sized cinnabon. The cinnamon roll was big($ 4.10), and some might like it, but it wasn’t my favorite. Twenty-five years ago when I worked in a mall I used to arrive before the mall opened to the public and the entire place smelled like cinnabon, it was addictive. Beyond the smell, they use a lot of cinnamon and a cream cheese frosting. Yesterday’s cinnamon roll did not have as much cinnamon and the frosting was very different. I’d bet that it was fresh and house made. But, for me, it’s like comparing an In-N-Out burger to any other burger. They just don’t compare. It’s tough to match expectations, and, in this case, size is not everything. It’s good, and you might like it, but the gold standard is, unfortunately, probably at the mall. After the big cinnamon roll arrived we downshifted to a smaller breakfast. We each had an egg, a breakfast meat, and the potatoes. All were prepared well, and the server offered to switch out my sausages if I wasn’t happy with them, as I had asked a number of questions about them prior to ordering them. I very much appreciated the gesture. The food was what we expected it to be. The server was very friendly and worked hard to meet our expectations. She was friendly, efficient and effective. What more could you ask for from a server? ‘Mom and Pop’s’ is a nice environment. It is beach themed, and they’ve got easy reading books on each table. They also have a couple of little nooks that are filled with beach items, and the books, that you can buy if you’d like. This is a nice clean sparsely populated spot for breakfast that I would consider again. I would pass on the cinnamon roll, and I would experiment with a number of other items on the menu, as they looked spectacular as they went passed by on their way to other tables.
