Just witnessed a lousy server«Ryan» tell a customer picking up an order to shut up, management did nothing, used to like this place, but would be embarrased to send anyone there now after seeing how patrons are treated. Another good resturant going down the toilet due to lousy customer service. Too bad.

I will never step foot in this restaurant ever again! I was completely braided, lied to, lied about and shouted at by their server Ryan who was stressed out because he said he had too many tables. I was just trying to get a quick take-out order. I’ve never been so completely disrespected in a restaurant! I’ve been coming here every week for 20 years! The food is great but service like this just isn’t worth it! Ruined our golf day! Not going back!

For our 29th wedding anniversary, we took a suggestion to try Glen Eagles in Carson City. And boy, am I glad we did. The restaurant/lounge is supposedly in an old house that part of a ranch at one time. It is slightly upscale, but not so much there is any dress requirement. On this occasion we took our own bottle of wine and paid the $ 10 corkage fee. The menu and specials all looked really good, and a hard time was has in making a decision. I finally decided on the peppercorn steak. It was cooked to perfection, tender, and the peppercorn sauce was done perfectly. My wife with Scampi, and they were some of the biggest I have ever seen. To finish the meal, we went with Key Lime Pie, which was about as good as it gets. Service was very good, we liked the ‘old house’ ambiance of the place, and the food was perfect. What’s not to give five stars for?

My wife and I stopped in last night for appetizers in the bar area, we had reviewed the comments on Unilocal so we thought that we would give the restaurant a try. Wow were we disappointed, one of the appetizers that we had ordered were the crab cakes, to say the least they were not good is an understatement .The server later after we had finished our meal asked us how everything was, we commented on the crab cakes and she said that Del’s were much better, hmmm interesting. As far as the other appetizers, bruschetta and the smoked trout well lets just say I would not order them again. As a matter of fact we should have gone to Dels, thankfully we chose not to have dinner at this restaurant. We will not be back.

Love the seafood louis. Nice big pieces of fresh shrimp and crab. Served with warm bread. This is my favorite salad anywhere now.

The place is very nice and the bar has exceptional live music 3 nights a week. The regular weekend night bartender is fantastic. The food is excellent. Aside from the problem I mention below, the place is completely wonderful. But beware wives/girlfriends…some of the female servers are inappropriate with the male guests along with the husbands/boyfriends of other women who are guests as well. A classy place with some low class servers.

Had dinner with my girl, her dad and his wife. The service was top notch. The atmosphere was great. Prices are on par with any nice restaurant and the sauces were great. My girl friend had blackened chicken and I had peppered ny steak. My steak was good but more of a medium than medium rare. The only down sides were the Cesar dressing was kind of watery and too much sardine flavor but only a little too much. I had the chicken soup, that was great. I will be back but please fix the ceaser, I can buy better stuff at the store.

Best food I’ve had in Carson! Amazing staff and amazing entertainment. I have hosted 2 different large birthday parties here and my experience was beyond amazing! The chef even goes out of his way to make specific gluten free options for my mother. 10 out of 10!!! Caesar salad and Chilean sea bass is the best!!!

I have lived in the area for thirty-two years and never had eaten here until now. We were celebrating birthdays and anniversary of people in our party and wanted something special. Salads and clam chowder were standard fare. Nothing to brag about. Ah, the«Kobe» pork chops got a rave, as well as the New York steak and smoked ribs. My chicken Marsala was fair. All in all, it was a special meal that we enjoyed.

Service, always on point. Nothing to complain about. Food. Great for the price, do youself a favor and try the fried ravioli. Drinks. Well priced and spot on. Atmosphere, a touch outdated and could use a very small update. Overall a great place, good prices and awesome people.

Disappointment and regret. Sadly this sums up the meal I had today. The establishment looked promising with a classy ambiance that was broken by a server or cook that could be heard yelling«oh sh*t» while I tried to suck the little water that was in my ice filled glass. The lunch menu was small, I hoped this meant that these were what they did best so I wasn’t too upset about it. I ordered a meatloaf sandwich and my lady had shrimp enchiladas. My sandwich, oozing with mayonnaise, tasted like someone had dropped a fist full of salt on the center of the meatloaf. My girlfriend’s enchiladas were bland and the red sauce tasted borderline acidic. The server was kind and attentive, hence the 2 stars. Would I return? Absolutely not. I can only imagine that dinner would be just as awful and 4 times the price.

We just arrived from San Jose and were looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. We were recommended to go to Glen Eagles for dinner. We were extremely happy. The service was excellent, the steak and chicken entre’s were delicious. Ambiance was terrific! I highly recommend Glen Eagles for a nice dinner.

Stopped in late. Passing through town. Hotel said this was the best in the area. Went straight to the bar. Mostly middle to late aged crowd. Bartender was a lot of fun. He made up several drinks for the wife. She was happy and feeling no pain by nights end. Had two appetizers, tacos and filet on bruschetta. Both were great.

Over priced so-so food. Overrated !! The grey hairs love this place for some reason. I would eat elsewhere unless you like spending money to make yourself look trendy by eating there. It was nice hearing the staff argue and fight with each other as well.

This has become our favorite restaurant since moving to Nevada. Fresh, consistent, delightful staff. Have lived all over the country from NYC, San fran, etc. Work used to require international travel and restaurants thru Europe… we find Glen Eagles is as good as any high end restaurant we’ve ever been in around the globe. Pasta and meatballs sounds simple, right? Well, wait til you taste those meatballs! Unbelievable! Filet of beef is perfect every time! My personal preference would be if garlic mashed potatoes were not quite as heavy. seem a bit dry, and personal prefernce would be more garlic flavor. Again – that’s just me. Otherwise — go there, We are big fans of Glen Eagle and their chef!

There was a time when Glen Eagles was our go to place for a nice meal in Carson City, but over the years it has lost it’s luster. Another couple who we used to frequent this place with gave up on it two or three years ago, so it’s been a while since we’ve been here. Well, we were taking another couple out to dinner for a special occasion and they suggested that we try Glen Eagles as they have never been here. I called a week in advance to reserve a nice table in front of the fireplace. When we got there right on time the table was occupied! We were told that the people there were just about to leave. After awkwardly waiting around for a bit we decided to have a drink in the bar where there were not enough chairs to accommodate all four of us, but we figured we’d be seated at our table soon so we made due. After 45 minutes we were told that we could be «temporarily» seated at another table while we waited for the other party to vacate the reserved table. Okay, I don’t fault the management for a party staying longer than expected at a table. That can happen, but to not immediately usher our party to another venue and offer us drinks on the house while we waited is definitely a management issue. To leave us mulling around awkwardly and having us, on our own, figure out how to pass the time while our«reserved» table is vacated is a sign of a very poorly managed restaurant in general and staff in particular. Also, the last time I was there the basic pasta dish price was $ 13.95. This time it was $ 18.95. My favorite pasta dish always came with 4 eggplant medallions whereas this time it came with only 3. The to-go situation also has slipped. In the past when we were asked if we wanted our leftovers«to-go,» our plates were whisked away and a nice box was returned with our leftovers inside ready to take home. This time we were given Styrofoam containers and left to put our own food in them. The food itself was fine, but nothing to go on about. It so happened that the next day we went to the Steak House at the Carson Valley Inn where in our opinion the food was much better. By the way, we were there on a Wednesday night and the place was crowded so I guess that my opinion is in the minority, but I hate to see this restaurant cut so many corners as it’s location is very convenient. Unfortunately, I won’t be going back for a very long time.

A couple of my coworkers and I came here for lunch. After being seated it took 10 minutes to get water and first acknowledgement. We stated we were ready to order. We waited another 10 minutes and decided to get up and leave. The waitress came out 4 times to help the two tables around us with multiple orders and she would not look in our direction even though we were only feet away. I was very disappointed, in the past I have enjoyed eating here but I doubt I, nor my coworkers will be returning. An acknowledgement stating they were busy or understaffed would have great as we could have waited, but 20 minutes without being able to order is dissapointing for one of the few nicer restaurants in town. If you’re on a time limit, don’t bother coming here.

The ribeye was not great. And that is saying something. A ribeye that cost $ 33 should be an experience that rates on the higher end of tasty treats. This was filled with gristle and medium instead of rare. If ever again I want a steak locally, I’ll slap myself and buy shoes instead of trying to eat them. The salad lettuce was chopped so fine you could barely eat it without a squeegee and an aquarium net. The soup was excellent, and the veggie sides were perfectly steamed. I do want to give props to the waitstaff. They were awesome, fast and super-friendly. Also, the water was good.

OK here we go, try to make a review that everyone can understand and have a perspective on this locals PLACE did you get the last word and understand what that means? Wow this means the people at the bar and it is full most of the time know each other by their first name as well as the bartenders, notice bartenders are plural, they know most everyone by their first and last name, kind of like going to «CHEERS» as for me, like the people in «CHEERS“‘the people here have known each other for many years also, hope this helps with some of the reviews

We at here at the beginning of Feb 2014. We had to come up for a medical trip with a relative. The relative was exhausted and the hotel recommended this place. Our thanks to the hotel clerk for the recommendation. I had the filet & lobster, a splurge and desert as well. My husband had the peppered New York steak. I took the filet back to my relative in the hotel. She said the filet was the best she ever had. The food was incredible, the service was great… but I must admit a regular came over and told us to avoid the sand dabs in the browned butter sauce because they didn’t do a good brown butter sauce. We took his advice and everything we had was excellent! I would recommend it. I can’t speak to the brown butter sauce issue. We didn’t try it so we don’t know whether it is good or bad, but what we had was great! Our waiter was excellent… presentation, delectable! Enjoy!
