Nice place for breakfast. Their Belgium waffles are great and it has a beautiful view of the marina.

Awkward station in middle of the dining room but the menu is creative. Fresh OJ and the food is good. The wait staff is great but has to move around waiting people. Once the room is redesigned the place will be great! Love the update where you give your cell number and they text you your table is ready. The staff seemed stressed over the awkwardness of the wait-?But it’s normal to wait on a Sunday… Aw the server forgot to mention the specials which I saw on a chalkboard on the floor by the door on the way out. Yeah the room needs redesigning real bad.

A very nice breakfast & lunch café with interesting variations on classic meals. I ordered the Portobello Omelette with fruit instead of home fries, sour dough toast instead of my usual wheat; the coffee is a medium-strong roast, just the way I like it! The home fries are red potatoes — mmmm! The wife ordered The English — looks good(but not as good as mine!)! The Saltwater is slightly pricier than some(maybe a couple of dollars, $ 10-$ 15 per person) but well worth it!

I don’t know what happened to this place, but for me to leave a negative comment about Saltwater Café kills me. I really thought I was onto a consistently great place. The past three times I’ve been here have not been good, at all. To wait, 40 minutes for a cup of coffee when there’s plenty of staff, is ridiculous. The food wasn’t good, and came out in stages. We’ve left subtle hints to who appears to be the manager, but apparently it falls on deaf ears. We noticed people leaving, who just got fead up waiting. In closing, I certainly wonder if this place was sold or if the owner just isn’t as hands on anymore. Food isn’t what it used to be. New chefs? 5 tables of people inside and out, multiple servers, and nothing was going well.

The service was good. That’s where is ends. We gave our name at 9:45 am. Our food was served at 10:54AM. When the food was finally served, the sausage had not only a horrible taste to it but had a bad odor as well. I find it hard to believe that nobody picked this up in the kitchen. The food took forever to get to our table. At one point, there were 6 to 7 tables waiting for food. Granted it was Labor Day weekend, but I tend to believe that they’ve had a busy weekend. I have been here for lunch and find lunch to be good. However, I will never go back for breakfast. It is shameful when a restaurant tries to serve bad food thinking we are all stupid. The waitress that we had was good and offered a substitute for the bad food that was served. However, the damage had been done at that point. I did not feel well afterwards, and I attribute the same to the breakfast that I had. I believe you really have to try hard to screw breakfast up; mission accomplished here.

Great breakfast and lunch find in the Cape may marina High quality food, solid portions and reasonable prices. No breakfast over $ 10 I had the English breakfast, 2 eggs over easy on English muffins with cheddar and grilled ham with a side of home fries… excellent My daughter had a little starter with bacon, eggs and a short stack My wife had the saltwater starter, 2 eggs, bacon, pancakes… large portions. Lunch menu looks good as well… crabcakes, burgers and salads. Placed is jamming on the weekend so the service suffered a bit. Great views of the marina if you choose to sit outside. Nicely decorated on the inside with the air conditioning pumping. $ 40 for a high quality breakfast in the tourist trap that is Cape May. …great deal

Not an enjoyable experience. From the moment my wife and I arrived we were ignored by the hostess and then rudely told to follow her. She never asked for a preference of where we wanted to sit. The hostess insistently sat us between two tables that needed to be cleared from the previous patrons. We asked if we could sit outside and this clearly annoyed the hostess. She just left us and went to the outside seating as we stood in the middle of the restaurant confused of her next move. She then came in, walked past us and went back to her perch by the gift shop entrance. Obviously did something more important than seat paying customers. My frustration level is now in the red and I want to leave. My wife said give it a chance, maybe she was having a bad day? If you’re in the business of customer service you should not be rude and unresponsive. So I relented and we were finally seated at a table outside by the hostess. She again said in a rude tone, follow me. She obviously needs more training with how to be curious to customers. After being seated it took about 15 minutes to get our order taken and another 20 to get our food. The waitstaff was friendly so there is no complaint there. The food quality was exceptional and the presentation needs some improvement. We had to find our waitress to get our bill and my wife was paying when she felt insulted by the hostess yet again and requested to talk to the manager. The hostess and the server were both confused as who the manager was and coyly stated a person by the name of Mark. I then pulled my wife away from this whole scene because it looked as if it would not have made a difference if we were able to get to Mark or if this person even existed. We later called back to the restaurant to speak with Mark and the hostess could barely make a sentence stating where Mark was and when he’d be back for a phone call. So since we cannot get in contact with a manager we thought to come to Unilocal to let others know of the experience we had. We also witnessed other patrons talked to in the same manner. The food was okay but not worth that attitude to time ever again!
