I have not ate yet. I just experienced the worst service ever. McDonald’s was better service. The lady taking my order was beyond rude, irritable, short, impatient and just nasty. Seriously rude.

The grass fed burger with pastrami is incredibly good. The chef is great. He made me some pastrami nachos special and they were amazing. The burger with pastrami was massive but I finished it all and somehow felt great afterwards. Everything is very fresh and service is impeccable. Simply the best in the area and one place you must stop in if passing through.

Still 5 stars, every single time. Only«complaint» is they dropped the Lamb Dip for lack of orders. What’s wrong with you people who didn’t order enough LDs!!! Anyhow, the French Dip is a fine consolation! Love everything about this place! Just had the burger for the first time. It is the best I’ve ever had. MEAL, not burger. I love these people!

Never had a bad meal here. You can’t go wrong. My wife swears by the meatloaf sandwich says it’s there best she’s ever had. Laid back atmosphere and very friendly owners. When in Cambria this is a must go to place.

We stopped at this quaint little café in Cambria after viewing Hearst Castle. The people working there were delightful. Lovely outdoor garden seating! The burgers are HUGE and have lots of avocado and I love them. They are quite messy though, and require a large quantity of napkins.

Another hidden gem within Cambria. We ordered a tuna sandwich and a pastrami sandwich, and the tuna sandwich was probably the best one I’ve ever had. It tasted extremely fresh and it contained the perfect blend of ingredients. My boyfriend also loved the pastrami sandwich — I thought it was good as well but I preferred mine. The portions are pretty big but we finished both our sandwiches. Prior to going, I read Unilocal reviews that you should definitely share the sandwiches but I guess if you’re big eaters like us, you’re better off getting your own! We sat in the patio and it was a beautiful day. However, we did go on a busy day so it took a while to get our food. We didn’t mind though, and to be expected at a small mom and pop restaurant.

This was, and I don’t think I’m exaggerating here, the best hamburger I have ever had. I loved that you can choose your party size and your toppings. In fact, all the sandwiches looked great. Salads too. They also had wonderful and interesting soft drinks and half bottles of local wine. Perfect! The space used to be my favorite place ever: The Tea Cozy. I was gutted when they closed it. Over the moon excited that they did something so excellent with the space. I’ll definitely be back!!!

I have mourned the loss of the original Sebastian’s in the few years since Hearst forced the owners out and sold to Ian McPhee. But the sandwiches are back! Most importantly, the pastrami sandwich is back — thin sliced, no grizzle hot pastrami piled onto a soft flavorful roll baked fresh daily with Swiss cheese, mustard, mayo, lettuce and tomato. Sounds ordinary but is far from it. So delish. Same owners/menu as Sebatian’s before it was taken over. Service isn’t always great, but who cares. They are hard working, and every one plays nice. Be prepared to wait.

Unilocal is not wrong: this was quite possibly the best meatloaf sandwich I have ever had. Certainly at least close. Their menu is expansive, and everything looked amazing, so it was a tough choice, but honestly, I’m sure any of the sandwiches would have been equally good. Meatloaf was super flavorful, and it was *enormous*. So enormous, I entered super-hungry, and couldn’t quite finish it — that *never* happens. And so good, we really wanted to just come back the next day for lunch again — sadly, this was Easter weekend, so they were closed on Sunday(totally understandable, just sad for us, I only got to try a single sandwich before we left. If we’re ever back in Cambria, though, this will be the first place we go back to for lunch. And possibly also the second place. :p)

Thank you Unilocalers for the recommendation! This lovely little 1877 home has been turned into a fabulous café with delicious sandwiches, burgers and salads. The French Dip was huge and I can honestly say it was the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely come back next time in Cambria!

I came here for lunch on a Sunday with my wife and we must have just got in before the lunch rush because within minutes the place was packed out and the ordering line was 10 people deep. This told me that the Café must live up to all of the five-star reviews, and it did. I typically order something different than my wife in order to try a variety of items but both of us were craving a good pastrami sandwich so we each ordered one, hers with Swiss cheese and mine with provolone. We both agreed it was probably the best pastrami sandwich we have ever had and it was huge! We could have easily split one. I forced the whole thing down but my wife took half of hers to go. The outdoor seating in the back was very nice as well. We can’t wait to go back and try something else.

Came on a Sunday and this place was busy. It is in a historical building. There are seating inside the house, the front yard and the rear backyard. There are no table service. You order from the counter and pay for the food. Then you just need to find a table and sit down. A staff member will bring you the food. Since I was in a hurry, I ordered my food to go. I over heard from some regular customers that their charbroiled burger is very good and the French dip is highly recommended. I decided to try the burger. The food came out very quick. I was very pleased. I hopped in the car and very anxious to sink my teeth in my burger. Wow, it was very juicy as I order it medium. It was cooked perfect. Did I mention it is grass fed beef? You can really taste the difference. Simple but delicious fix. It comes with chips and a serving of creamy coleslaw. I will definitely come back and try other sandwiches like the French dip.

Very cozy little set up in converted home. The food was amazing! Greek hamburger was huge and packed with fresh vegetables. I had the very tasty hot pastrami with a side of some yummy coleslaw(not sweet so I loved it). The place filled up quick and after our food arrived I could see why; well worth any wait! YUM!

Yes, yes and yes! We arrived on a Wednesday around 1:00pm. The Café was definitely busy, but not packed. There were a few seats in the front patio and the rear patio, as well as inside. The menu is large, and has too many good options to choose from, but we finally managed. The sign out front said that their soup of the day was a spicy Chili Verde, and it was DIVINE!!! The sandwiches were amazing too; I can’t wait to go back and try some others on the menu. This place is a big hit, if I could give it 10 stars I would!

YUM! A solid 5 stars. We wanted to try a new lunch place in Cambria and found this little gem on Unilocal. It’s tucked in on one of the side streets in a quaint little converted house. You walk up and order your food and then they bring it out to you. We sat in the adorable outdoor seating that was decorated with flowers and succulents and eclectic ornaments. And then the food… Wow… The sandwiches are HUGE! We were only able to eat half of each one even though they were delicious. The pastrami was heaped high with pastrami and served with au jus on the side. The turkey submarine sandwich was so flavorful with pepperoncini peppers. One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. I can’t wait to go back and try more food!

I’ve written over 1200 reviews and I’ve only granted 10 five star reviews. Distinguished ladies and gentlemen I offer you number 11. Years ago, the wonderful proprietors of Sebastian’s General Store at Hearst Castle(Brian and Abbey Lucas) ran the best sandwich shop on the Central Coast. I granted it five stars back then. Unfortunately the Hearst corporation bought Sebastian’s and demanded they work 7 days a week. So long! Everyone was devastated. Years later I get wind that the Lucases set up a new causal lunch restaurant in downtown Cambria. I made it a top priority to check this place out. The food! While this wouldn’t be considered gourmet, it’s very special. Portions are large and the produce is very fresh. Salads are giant! Colorful, flavorful, it’s a huge meal for one person(See pictures) Burgers! The patty may not be as big as the bun and fixings but it’s a fine burger. Soups! Again, a meal. If you’re lucky enough to come on Tortilla Soup day, get it! Veggie sandwich in a burger bun! Massively stacked with colorful and fresh produce. French Dip! Can’t go wrong. Tips It’s okay to split a burger, salad, or soup! Portions are too big! Okay, it’s a bit quirky with the Tortilla chips as a side… Bundaberg and other specialty drinks offered.
