I always end up at this place when I’m in Cambria, under different names over the years. It’s a perfect location, away from the crowds, lots of light and seating areas, and a beautiful garden. The current owners have created a delicious menu that piques your curiosity and taste buds for a fair price. Wait staff are friendly. What more can you ask?

I really wanted to like this place but too many things just didn’t go well. Crab cake appetizer so bland and two entrees had to be sent back: 1) crab stuffed trout came out lukewarm, not appetizing at all when fish is not served hot, 2) wild mushroom risotto was so salty that I couldn’t feel my tongue after a few bites. The servers were nice but the food was disappointing and not worth a second visit. We were so unimpressed with the the meal that we went somewhere else for dessert.

What a great addition to our town! The perfect place to sample California artisanal cheeses, enjoy a glass of wine and have a cheese plate or some of their delicious crostini. My fave is the smoked blue cheese with onion jam and candied walnuts…$ 8…get out!!! Staff is very knowledgable and helpful. The perfect place for that mid afternoon somethin somethin before dinner at Indigo Moon Restaurant.

My parents and I visited here on a whim after staying over in Cambria, following a long drive up the coast. We couldn’t have asked for better. I had the Rainbow trout stuffed with crab and it was absolutely delicious. Our server was extremely friendly and welcoming. We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. We will definitely be stopping by on our next trip up the PCH!

This place was beautiful. I wanted to spend a little time before my finals just to relax. This review is for the cheeseshop I visited and not the restaurant. In the corner near the sodas and waters, there were little samples of cheeses, salami’s and fruits. I had the Costwald cheese and another dry cheese I can’t remember made from sheep’s milk. From the menu we ordered the tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich. They used a Gruyère cheese(I think.) It was really really good. The tomato soup tasted homemade, the cheese was perfectly melted and the bread used for the grilled sandwiches was perfectly toasted. Overall, I liked the style of this cheeseshop. It wasn’t too expensive and the décor was wonderful.

I loved the food here. My husband took me out to dinner for my birthday, we saw this place on Unilocal and decided to try it. The food was amazing! The service was pretty fair. Parking was a bit hard to find. It has a classy atmosphere. You can definitely tell that this area is part of a «wine» country. It may seem pricey but what to expect fro quality food, this is not McDonalds or Subway.

This was our first time dining at this particular venue and we were not disappointed! There was a table for two right in the front area of the house/restaurant and we requested that space. There was not another table very close by, so even though the restaurant was almost full, it was relatively quiet and provided a relaxed atmosphere for great conversation. We took our time and enjoyed our glass of wine, salad and main course. The waitress was patient and attentive, without rushing us through the evening. The pear/gorgonzola salad was a delicious beginning of my meal followed by the crab stuffed trout which was truly heavenly! Everyone was friendly and having a wonderful time. There was a welcoming atmosphere and of course the food was divine! We would highly recommend this restaurant!

Stopped by tonight for a relaxing dinner. I was not disappointed! The staff was warm and welcoming. The food(pecan-crusted halibut) was delicious and each course was served at just the right moment. The nightly specials are just that — special! If you find yourself in Cambria, do yourself a favor by stopping for the food & atmosphere of Indigo Moon.

A delicious and lovely place. This time I enjoyed the sweet and rich lobster bisque with a side green salad. Even though I came in late afternoon noon I was able to choose from a late lunch menu that had a great mix of options.

I am giving Indigo Moon four stars based on my food, the welcoming greetings when you walk in, and the ambiance. I ordered the grilled sea bass special and it was exquisite, paired with black rice and broccoli. We were very sad that my husband had an unfortunate experience with the filet mignon, for it was way undercooked, despite sending it back once. It made me very sad indeed, and I really get the impression that this was not at all the thing that usually happens at this establishment. They themselves seemed agrieved, as well, and did not charge us for his steak. Please do give them a try if you visit Cambria.

One of the chef/owners served us because we came in around 3 and workers were shifting. She was so sweet and gave great recommendations on wine. The lobster bisque was seriously the best I’ve ever had in my life– my husband and I were practically licking the bowl. We got salads and crab cakes too that were perfect for light afternoon noms. Happy honeymoon to us :)

After dining here twice on a recent trip, I decided to upgrade my review of Indigo Moon to 5 stars. I am truly impressed with this place as is the rest of my family who dined with me. Great ambiance, great service, great food, and reasonable prices. I truly enjoy every meal I have at Indigo Moon and look forward to dining here everytime I come to Cambria. For dinner, I ordered the flat iron with chimmichurri as i had previously. It was cooked perfectly, the green beans were incredible and the mashed potatoes i substituted for the fingerling potatoes was delicious. My only complaint was that the rub on the flat iron was a little too peppery for my personal taste. My parents both ordered the calamari steak and shared some with me, i was blown away by how good it was, i would come back and order that over and over. We ordered a pumpkin pecan bread pudding for dessert and wow was it good. Fairly large portions of everything as well at this place. For lunch, my parents ordered the special which was some kind of glazed sea bass with veggies and fingerling potatoes. They really enjoyed it and i did as well when i tried it. I myself got an order of the yam and goat cheese wontons and the goat cheese and leak tart with the pear gorgonzola salad substituted for the mixed greens one, at an upcharge of only $ 3. everything was extremely fresh and tasty and I noticed they have upped the presentation on the salad since i had last had it in the summer. i love that the gorgonzola is mild as i am not generally a fan of blue cheese. Overall just really great dining experiences at Indigo Moon. I have never had anything at Indigo Moon that I did not enjoy.

Absolutely LOVE! Not only was the owner so incredibly sweet, we were 30 mins late to our 8:30 reservation, we offered to take the food Togo since the kitchen closes at 9, but they were super sweet, let us sit down and eat as long as we wanted which I really appreciated. The food was delicious. I got the Gorgonzola salad it was very good, we got their vegetarian soup which was AMAZING(some bean soup). My boyfriend got their SeaBass he loved it. This place has the cutest romantic music, there is lovely art hung up on the walls. It’s very cozy. A must try in Cambria!

This restaurant is very unassuming from the entrance. I came here with my wife & parents to celebrate a few events and at first thought ‘huh, this place doesn’t look too fancy.’ Well, once you walk in, you see that it is much more than it appears. The staff was all incredibly friendly. We were seated out in their patio turned indoor area. I was worried that we were going to be cold as it was a very windy & rainy night, but it wasn’t the case. If it weren’t for the wind rustling the soft walls, you’d never know you weren’t in a permanent indoor room. Food was all incredible. The four of us all got different items and we all had a hard time determining who got the best dish. That’s a great sign in my book. Food was all tasty and flavorful. I could’ve eaten it all night(if it wasn’t so filling that is). I barely had room for my dessert! Only complaint is that the waitress did seem to disappear for awhile. But perhaps they were a tad understaffed. I’m not sure.

If you find yourself in Cambria looking for a sweet-spot for a meal or glass of wine, check out Indigo Moon. One lazy Sunday I indulged in the Baby Back Ribs with cole slaw and their famous sweet potato fries. My customary healthy eating habits were blown but it was worth it. The ribs were delicious — fell off the bone and seasoned just right with their BBQ sauce, which you can get on the side. Heidi was so cheerful, helpful and genuinely happy to serve. When I go to a restaurant much of my experience is about how I was treated. When I walked in I was warmly greeted and shown to my table. Often when I travel alone, the staff at restaurants can be inhospitable to seat and serve a single. Not the case here. Warm hospitallity from start to finish. If the weather is conducive, consider sitting outside in the garden. It’s lovely and serene with giant trees that have been hammered by the wood peckers. There’s also a porch and inside dining too. Relax, enjoy and savour the experience.

Everything is quite perfect! Haha when we got here already feel really tired but I saw the back yard and those windows are very comfortable and warm. Menus are simple I didn’t even find any dessert, but I Unilocaled this place and ordered brûlée it was fabulous!

Rating: 68⁄100 pts After being ousted for not having reservations at Black Cat, which was our primary choice for dinner and known for perhaps serving the best meal in town, we quickly funneled into Indigo Moon, which is located just down the street. The theme: New American + Fine Cheeses and Wine I recommend playing to their strengths and getting the Daily Cheese Assortment as an appetizer for the table. It comes with olive-specked bread, candied walnuts, sliced pear, fig, and 3 varieties of fine cheese, which in our case were English Cotswold, Spanish Manchego, and(forgot the fancy name) Cheddar. They are slightly stingy on the bread, but on request they brought us extra. Though you could probably find better cheese at fine Italian/French restaurants in the city if you look hard enough, you will not find cheese comparable to this anywhere nearby, so best to satisfy your cheese craving here and now. I also ordered a salad(Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese) and the fish of the day(they have fresh seafood nightly). As the name implies, the salad was topped with two massive wads of pistachio-encrusted goat cheese. Greens were a fairly standard spring mix. The portion of vegetables was only average in size, and flavor-to-flavor the cheese ends up being the dominating factor. The fish of the day was freshly caught sole, which – being pan-friend with butter and sage, and served with broccoli and mashed potatoes – was on the plainer side and therefore served as the only respite from the cheese.(But don’t get me wrong – I love me my fine cheeses!) Slightly on the pricey side for what you get, but overall I was satisfied with the meal and, considering the limited options for dining on Main St., I wouldn’t mind going again. Interior was nice and intimate, and staff was as pleasant as could be. …and if for some reason you didn’t get enough cheese, they have a by-the-pound cheese bar!
