Wildwood

The customer service here was absolutely horrible. The clothing, hats, sunglasses, and accessories were amazing. The lady working the day we came in (she has red hair) was extremely rude, and acted like she didn’t even want us there. She kept saying things under her breathe about my daughter and to her other co– worker about my daughter. I am from out of state and I have never experienced or met someone as rude as she was especially to children.

My husband and I ventured in here several times before with our retired guide dog and hubby always found a hat he had to have. So when we ventured in this visit, we were quite surprised to be barked at by a woman behind the counter informing us that «the dog can not come in unless you pick it up so its feet don’t touch the floor»! Huh? All other times it wasn’t a problem, now it is? She was so nasty. Given that Cambria is a small town which caters to tourism, we thought she’d be at least a bit more polite! They allowed the dog in several times before– and there were no signs stating their policy had changed. And our dog is a retired service dog (translation: well behaved). Won’t be back. Won’t encourage others to visit either. There are other shops in Cambria that welcome our business.

I was in here today with my wife and son. This store has a lot of great brands that I love with stylish apparel.
The staff is okay and some more helpful than others, but I found it odd they (the red head) was loudly talking and laughing about drugs and booze, especially in front of young children! Very unprofessional for such a nice apparel boutique as this!
The staff states the facts, but doesn’t seem to really listen to their customers needs… pethaps they feel it’s not their job or out of their control.
This place is pricey. I would think the stock would be a bit more plentiful…
It’s funny how drugs and booze are funny topics, but their products are spoken of with such sobriety and regard! Hmm…

Nice hat shop, lots of women’s and men’s hats and even a decent youth hat selection. Clothing is overpriced but nice quality, some leather accessories, belts, men’s shirts, wallets, and belts, the hats are the big attraction in this shop, I’ve made several great hat purchases there, all very good hats!

We’d first visited this store during our previous stay in Cambria (10 ½ years ago) and the selection was terrific. My husband bought a beautiful leather jacket which is still in great condition, and it’s a nice memory of Cambria. We visited the store again three days ago — and although there were certainly some nice items and the same wonderful smell of leather, we thought the selection wasn’t as good as the last time. Also; although the two women working there were pleasant when we later spoke to them briefly, they didn’t greet us when we entered the store and they didn’t (later) ask if we needed any assistance (admittedly I often wish employees at small stores weren’t intrusive, but this was the opposite situation). Still, the store is well worth a visit.

I’m going to be very honest here and say that I’m probably not Wildwood’s ideal customer. The shop is beautiful and bursting at the seams with goods, and smells wonderfully of wood and leather when you walk in. Western wear abounds, and the staff are always super friendly and helpful.
There is only one thing though that calls to me in this shop — their amazing sock wall! Wildwood receives full credit for starting me on my obsessive quest to obtain extremely cool and colorful socks. I first discovered the Hot Sox brand here, which are nearly always 3 pairs for $ 15, even in other locations. Thanks to Wildwood I now have socks with the Venus, blue lemonade, flip flips, cheeseburgers, kitty cats, sushi, Chinese food, and so much more on them. And as highly recommended by the staff, my BF now rocks a downright amazing pair of Frida Kahlo socks. Seriously.
If you are into western wear, this is a great stop! Just make sure to swing by the sock wall — it just might make a believer out of you too. :)

Wildwood is one of my favorite shops anywhere. I love hats and they always have an extensive collection for men and women. They also have a great selection of socks that have little animals, or other things on them, which are inexpensive and fun gifts for friends and family.
Lilke Bling? They have a lovely selection of rhinestone studded Christine Alexander tops and jackets, which always get compliments… provided you are not in an Ivy League town, where you and your kin would be shunned for all time… and then some.
They also have (Cue the Angelic Choir) BRIGHTON purses, belts and other items. I love that stuff. They also have (drum roll) MARY FRANCES handbags. I don’t have one yet, but I love them and plan to eventually spring for one… an owl, or a guitar, or…
They have sterling jewelry, as well. Some of my favorites are the sterling and petrified whale tusk carving items. They are quite beautiful and everyone wonders where I find them. Well, I find them at Wildwood!
They also have Tommy Bahama men’s clothing, walking canes, jackets, etc., for men.
I can attest that the people there are very nice and very patient. It is not uncommon for me to spend at least an hour or more in there, trying on jackets, hats and belts and fondling expensive and mid-​range handbags (okay, I have a purse thang going on, okay?) especially if I haven’t been to Cambria in a while.
They are so sweet. Not once have they called the cops on me… even though even I would find my behavior suspicious if I didn’t know myself and my strong belief in Karma; however, they seem to remember me now and know that I usually purchase stuff when I am there… and that nothing, other than my purchases, have been missing after I leave.
They will also ship things to you, if you do not have room in your luggage, or if you want to send off a gift to a friend… or yourself…
Dang…why are you still sitting there? Rush on over to Wildwood, try on a rhinestone studded jacket and fondle a handbag or two…

A great store! Most of clothes come from Wildwood. Life is Good T-​shirts are my every day t-​shirt. Tommy Bahama shirts, so cool. My shoes came from Wildwood. I have more hats from wildwood than carters has pills. My favorite article from Wildwood in Cambria, Ca is my Tilley Hat. No better hat in the world. I highly recommend you visit Wildwood and tell em Bob sent you!

Now that I’ve been enlightened on how to wear hats correctly (down low over the eyes, not in the Elmer Fudd-​esque way I used to don them), I think they’re fun and delightful. Just goes to show – sometimes it takes another person to show you the error of your ways.
The bf and I spent a good hour in here perusing hats (there are tons to choose from), and I bought three that I love. Reasonably priced. Friendly and unobtrusive service from the folks working here too.
They also have a ton of my favorite t shirts – the Life is Good brand! Bonus star.

I never met a hat I didn’t like; that being said, I don’t spend too much per hat, but appreciate something new every so often. Wildwood always has a selection with new styles seasonally… it’s closer than Carmel, which it compares to with regard to selection… good service also, and affordable prices, which allows one to buy more than one per shopping trip. They have lots of neat clothing and jewelry as well.

I love this store. They have a great selection of clothing and accessories for both men and women at great prices. I bought a made in the USA leather belt there 3 years ago and it’s still holding strong. I just bought a Kangol hat since it’s the only hat that seems to work with my head and face shape. Great store and friendly service. I always pick something up when in town. They’ve got fancy brands too like Nat Nast, Tommy Bahama, Brighton, etc.

A great, GREAT selection of hats. I drove 50 miles just to check out their hat selection; definitely worth the voyage!
