Wow! We loved the food and Jessie our server was sweet and attentive. We had a party of 9 people and still the various types of foods (ribs, chicken, brisket, kids platters, an assortment of fried foods, soup and appetizers all arrived in a timely manner. Delicious bbq done right! Great smoky flavor and meat falls off the bone. Yummy bbq sauces to choose. Sweet tea was even the best I’ve had around the area. Bbq A+, sidekicks coleslaw A-​mazing, garlic bread and corn bread excellent! Calm lodge type dwelling and even the bathrooms were decorated in the same mountain lodge vibe. Clean and inviting atmosphere all around. This is our new family bbq restaurant!

Pros: Brittany was super friendly, as were the other server and hostess. Place seemed like an easy choice by some of the reviews and I was in the mood for some good ‘que.
Cons: Everything else. Pulled chicken portion was about ¾ breast size which was cool to the touch and tough. Broccoli straight out of the microwave… bland. Mac and Cheese was still round and freshly scooped from the bucket. Garlic bread was a sad piece of squished and non garlicky piece of toast. Didn’t bother with anything else or to request a manager as the other entrees I saw on other tables didn’t look much better.
Go see Brittany and enjoy a cold iced tea… just eat somewhere else before you go.

The best ribs I’ve ever had! They just fall right off the bone every time. I eat here at least once a week. Love the smoked turkey, the pulled pork, the beef brisket, and the smokin’ bbq sauce. I will continue to eat here for a long time!

Time for an update.
The service was far better than the first experience here. From the hostess to being greeted by the manager to the server hats off. Things are definitely picking up here. The food quality was good and very large drinks. The sweet tea was just that and the appetizers came out long enough before the food to enjoy them. I will say this was a pleasing experience. Put it on your map and beat the church crowd. You won’t be disappointed.

Food is always good. Its Sonny’s. But the problem is always the service at this location… They run though different staff often. Twice there were arguments next to our booth between staff members.
Salad bar here is often under stocked.
I think I’ll only go back if I get it to-​go. As its always good food from any Sonny’s.

Excellent food! The pulled pork might be the best I’ve ever had! The dry rubbed ribs and the smoked chicken wings were also delicious. On our next trip to FL, we will definitely go to Sonny’s again.

Went because we seen the sign for the prime rib, $ 16.99, on Sundays. Might have been a 4oz at best. My mother and I both ordered medium and both got well-​done. Absolutely no pink at all. The taste was great though. But by the time we cut the fat off, the actual meat that we could eat was about the size of the bottom of a coffee cup. She had fries and coleslaw which is kinda hard to mess up but I had macaroni and broccoli. The menu read «homestyle» macaroni. I guess when it says «homestyle» it means out of a box. Meaning the powdered kind. And when they offer garlic bread. Well don’t be expecting garlic bread. It’s really just toast. Very disappointed. If you want prime rib for this price Outback can beat it. Don’t get me wrong. If you want ribs. This is your place. But why they offer prime rib is beyond me.

We had a group and sat in the back bar area and our server, Carl, was outstanding!!! Was very, very accommodating and went out of his way. Food was great as always.

I felt robbed!!! They gave me four small pieces of ribs that come off the end. The beans were hard not done. After it was done i felt i paid $ 28 for two dinners with some bread and mac n cheese! SONNY WILL NEVER AGAIN GET MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!!

Our Anniversary Dinner, we had ribs and brisket and it was great. I’m glad we finally have a decent BBQ place in Callaway. The service is good and so is the food. I recommend stopping by for dinner or lunch.

This place is on point. Callaway needed a good bbq joint that you can really enjoy yourself at. Lunch specials are cheap and greatly portioned. Had the pulled pork sandwich on kaiser roll and will definitely order it again. Service was top notch, speedy, accurate and hooked us up with Togo drinks. Da-​yam!

I and my friends were super grossed out to watch the blonde gal tending the bar. She strained a Long Island iced tea with her hands and sent it out to a table!!!
OMG!!! I almost followed that drink to the table to tell them not to drink it, but it is not my place… Again, OMG!!! No!!!

We have eaten at the bar a couple of times. The food and service were excellent. Had the redneck rolls for an appetizer. It was delicious. It is very clean anytime we visot and is also in a great location. Would definitely be back.
