Husband and I stopped in for lunch. We both had the BBQ pulled chicken with a sweet potato waffle and collard greens. The sauce on the chicken was well balanced and the waffle was drizzled with white BBQ sauce. Absolutely delicious! I don’t usually eat collards but these were so excellent I will try them again. Wait staff was friendly and efficient.

The beet salad was so good! I liked it better than The Cheesecake Factory’s beet salad. I just heard about their Taco Tuesdays, $ 3 tacos(pork with cojita cheese and pickled onions, or pork with beer cheese, they described a vegetarian choice that sounded great too!) and $ 2 beer. I can’t wait for next Tuesday to get here!

Visiting PCB and saw the commercial and thought it would be a good spot to try out… something out of the way and not a chain restaurant. Well I was right! Other than the loud, cackling ladies at the table next to us; the place was nice. Great service and the food was very, very good. I had the Chicken & Waffles which was not what you would traditionally receive when you order Chicken and Waffles but good nonetheless. The waffles were made of sweet potato and the chicken was pulled and in a delicious molasses base and there was collards hidden under the waffles(YUMMO)! My Dad had the braised short ribs and they were pretty damn good too! A glass of wine and beignets for dessert and I was in heaven! I would definitely be back next time I’m in town and recommend Chef’s to anyone!

The first time I came to Chef’s I liked it so much that I came back the next day w my friends. The honey balsamic vinaigrette on their salads is well balanced and delightful. They make their pickles in house so their flavor could change on each visit. The beignets shouldn’t really be called that, they are more like baked puff pastries, but you could put Nutella on anything and I would love it. The noto’s tacos are great and they use a fresh«catch of the day». The craft beer selection is great too.

My son called and suggested I try this restaurant. It is owned and operated by two young women he and his brothers have known since preschool. As I am usually ready for any adventure, we put the address in the gps and headed for town from the beach. We found ourselves in a remodeled drive-in with an eclectic and very interesting interior. The menu was definitely different for the coastal area and featured true Southern favorites. I really wanted to try the chicken and waffles! Much too much for me, so I selected the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese. A tasty blend of cheeses mixed with crab claw meat. It was heavenly! An excellent blend of cheeses and grilled perfectly! We had to try dessert! We picked the Bourbon Pecan Pie. They were out of whipped cream, so it was accompanied by cinnamon brown sugar ice cream. I feared the small bit was not enough to share, but I was wrong! It was fantastic! Not the sickly sweet of most pecan pies, but a smooth taste with just the hint of sweetness. The ice cream was the perfect complement. I’d love to have it anytime! Do yourself a favor next time you go toward Panama City and check Chef’s out! You will be very pleased.

We love this place! Discovered it a couple months ago here on Unilocal and decided to give it a shot and have returned on additional trips since then and it’s always delicious! Recommend it to everyone now!

Our family celebrated my birthday here, and it was AMAZING! From the Red-neck Bruschetta and Crab Claws to the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Ice Cream, Chocolate Pecan Brownie, and the Beignets with Nutella, every bite was delicious! We all ordered different entrees and shared them; all of them were excellent! Service was cheerful and efficient and the laid-back atmosphere was perfect for a family celebration. We will definitely be back and are thrilled to have a restaurant of this caliber in Panama City!

Went there the other night with two of my friends and was presently surprised. I got a PCBLT salad and man it was spectacular. Service was nice. Will be back

We had lunch around 2:00. The OG burger was good. I liked the addition of the Italian sausage. My husband had the Greek burger. The taste was fine, although it turned out to be a knife and fork sandwich. The orzo pasta salad was delicious. We got dessert which was over the top. I got the beignets and my husband got the pecan pie. Yummy.

Bang for the buck, friendly service and great food. In case you didn’t hear me say it the first time, GREATFOOD! That said This place can be noisy but ass soon as your delectable treats are served you sink into the mouthwatering goodness that is listed on the menu! If you consistently drive by this place you are mistaken. If you have more than four in your party ensure you move a table or two together. Other than that this place is phenomenal.

Just had my second visit to Chefs for lunch. Not sure where the weak reviewers were eating before their reviews. SOHAPPY to have another high quality restaurant in PC that thinks outside the box when designing their menu. I have eaten in many a fine restaurant and I do not return for mediocre food. Would love to find out they plan on doing breakfast or brunch someday. Had the burger tonight on 2÷25÷16. Excellent!

Took my family to chefs and was very pleased. I got the club and it was fantastic! Had alfalfa sprouts and bacon and I enjoyed the orzo too! My son got the burger and loved it and one more item we got the beignets!!! They were so yummy! Our server was a nice young man and did well. One more perk is I got my car washed while we dined cause it’s so close to Speedys car wash! All good stuff!

Went for lunch today and did not check reviews. Amy J was spot on and management must not check these reviews. We arrived and sat ourselves to old booths and tables that were leveled with check holders. Brandy was prompt to bring the menu and took the order. Atmosphere was loud and the walls are painted a mint green with small pictures placed around. Food was ordered at 1209 and arrived at 1232. One male staff member was chewing gum worse than a cow chews their cud. Or he could have been tenderizing the flank steak as in Chris Ls review. I had the Chef’s Club sandwich with roasted baby bakers(small potatoes). Thank goodness they came with catchup. The food was good but probably won’t go back to eat there. May get it to go but there are other restaurants I will visit before I make it back here.

Absolutely loved our meal tonight. It’s nice to see something new besides the same boring franchises all the time. Server was Bryan and he was very attentive and helpful with the menu. Hot and Spicy Crab Dip was excellent and the spin on Chicken and Waffles was a nice surprise. I’m typically not a big waffle person but the sweet potato waffles would quickly change that. Beer selection was nice and they happened to have Oyster City Hooter Brown which is one of my favorites. My one and only criticism about the whole place would have to be the booths. Seems like they’re probably the original booths from Jimmy’s that were just redone and unfortunately they’re not very comfortable. Overall I loved this place and we’ll certainly be going back again.

I have been to Chef’s twice. Both times, I really enjoyed the food. They are a wonderful addition to the downtown restaurant choices! Nice, unique menu items with lots of flavor. Great food! If I could change something, it would be the aesthetics, not the food. The booths are hard and are missing their back cushions. The restaurant was too cold when the air blows and hot when it doesn’t. But, for great food, like they serve, we can overlook a lot! Thanks Chefs for great food!

Quite the unexpected experience. The braised ribs with grits was the bomb. Super flavor on the ribs partially due to the honey Tupelo beer! The house salad had a homemade vinaigrette that was mildly sweet and tangy. The orange slices are a nice touch to round out the taste. Brian waited on us. He was a pleasure because he was interested, and a naturally pleasant young man. Clean, seemed to be well organized. The menu was creative and out of the box for PCB area. Keep up the great work! We will be back!

Awesome! Concise menu but everything looks good. We went for lunch and service was excellent. I had Maw Maw’s meatball sandwich. So good there’s no need for a bunch of marinara — the arugula pesto was divine. My mom had the club and it was also stellar. Southern pecan pie to die for. We’ll be back. Give them a try — eat local!

We came here for lunch and was very surprised… service was a little slow but it was packed. Great beer and wine selection for the Craft Beer side which I liked very much. Food was very good and prices were very responsible.

Chef’s might just be a great new option in downtown Panama City. I have high hopes. Chef’s fills a niche in downtown Panama City for trendy«new American» or Southern-fusion cooking; time will tell. Terms like that tell you that Chef’s is something different for our area, best compared to maybe G. Foley’s in the effort to offer new spins on old favorites. Let me preface this review by mentioning that, as of 10/28/2015, Chef’s has been open for only two days. There will be kinks to be worked out. That said, I would absolutely recommend trying Chef’s. We entered Chef’s and were told to seat ourselves. The only real complaint I have about the entire experience was that service was just a little… creaky. But this might be the server’s first food service job, so I expect it will get better! Service WAS friendly, and our food came out blissfully fast-very important for a restaurant catering to business folk on their lunch breaks. The restaurant is located in the old institution which was Jimmy’s Drive-In. They’ve cleverly kept the vintage«Eat-Here» sign, adding some nice attitude. Inside the restaurant is fairly no-frills, but the tables are dressed up a little, there’s a cool sort of vintage black booth diner vibe, but mixed with modern trendy sensibilities. It is EXTREMELY loud, perhaps because it’s an old building — there’s no music playing I could here, but the lunch crowd had me yelling. Not much you can do about that. The menu is available online, but suffice it to say it’s sort of «nouveau Southern meets diner fare» — as a throwback they offer the«OG Burger» a homage to Jimmy’s Drive-Thru. But what I ordered, what I KNEW I was going to order from the moment I saw the menu, was the chicken and waffles($ 10). The menu is fairly limited, but includes salads and sandwiches. This dish included a nice soft sweet potato waffle topped with«sriracha molasses pulled chicken,» collard greens with bits of bacon, white BBQ sauce, and chives. The portion was respectable. The portion could have been bigger, but it was respectable for the price and quality of the food. Let me be clear: I was satisfied. The whole dish was very good, including greens, which a lot of folks screw up. This eatery has a very small bar area with maybe five seats. It’s also got a drive-thru, and it looks like you can order online. We were in and out during a busy lunch session in maybe 45 minutes. That’s perfect. Bottom-line: I recommend you visit Chef’s. It offers a welcome addition to downtown Panama City and a more upscale menu than you can get just about anywhere on this side of the bridge outside G. Foley’s. I will have to visit again and see if they can sustain the positive vibes from this first trip.
