The one star is simply because this place apparently closed this past week for good. The sign is off the front, and ComEd was at the drive-thru a couple of days ago cutting the power. This seems really out of the blue, as this place had been in the area for at LEAST the past fourteen years. It wasn’t a bad fast food joint. I would occasionally drive through to get a hamburger with lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketchup and onion for under a buck, because it was the perfect size to curb my immediate hunger while on my way to wherever it was I was heading. Now the nearest Wendy’s is in Palatine off Dundee Road, or off Milwaukee Ave. in Glenview. Kind of frustrating when you are looking for an alternative to BK or McD’s. I will note that ever since they switched to the«natural» cut fries, they weren’t very good, but that was a corporate decision, not a franchise decision. I have to wonder if this is the first of many Wendy’s that will close. In all honesty, it hasn’t been the same since Dave Thomas died. The quality went downhill, and the corporation that currently owns it is trying too hard to keep up with the bigger fast food rivals. Dave Thomas never tried to do that. He stayed with quality over quantity, and wouldn’t sacrifice his beliefs to compete. He offered good food at fair prices. Something the current corporation can’t boast. Farewell Wendy’s. Wish you could have competed better than you did.

Hands down this is the worst Wendy’s I have been to. Wish I would have read the review before I went. First off, this place stinks. Like literally, it smell putrid. I’m sitting here, typing, hoping that I don’t reek now. I ordered a burger and a small cup of chili. My bun was stale. My burger was loaded with mayo. Uh, hi, I’d like some beef with my mayo… Where’s the beef?! Wasn’t it Wendy’s that had that commercial back in the day? Lastly, my chili tasted like they threw in left over meat. I had huge chunks of beef that was reminiscent of half eaten burgers. Puke. I will not be back.

Still can’t figure out how this Wendy’s stays in business. I have given this place numerous chances to get my orders correct but every time something is missing from my order. On top of that, the food never seems fresh. The fries are the worst. You can tell that they have been sitting around for quite some time… and this of every time I get suckered into going back to this Wendy’s. What a difference a location can make. The Wendy’s by my work is great. Nothing but good experiences there. I now pick up Wendy’s by my work and bring it home with me. Although it’s cold by the time I get home, I now refuse to support the Buffalo Grove Wendy’s.

I swear fast food used to be done better. When Wendy’s first introduced their sea salt fries they looked and tasted fresh but I am not sure if they changed their cut/recipe since then. The fries looked like they were a day old — shriveled/dry/yellow and was definitely fried in days old oil. Chicken wrap was poorly constructed but tasted better than it looked. 0 for 2 in the last 2 weeks for fast food — maybe third time will be great and satisfy my craving but perhaps it’s a sign that fast food and I need to take a long break.

MEHHHHHH after writing a raving review about how awesome my hot n juicy was(the one i had in richmond, kentucky) i was craving one and my friend being a big wendys fan, we decided to grab wendys for dinner. sadly, this trip was one of the saddest fast food trips ever! fries were cold. the meat was overcooked and dry! not only was the meat dry… the cheese stayed cold and from a burger that is supposedly grilled fresh to order, id expect some major cheese melting and oozing on to my fingers. big big disappointment!!!

By far the worst Wendy’s I’ve been to. We live in Buffalo Grove and this is our closest Wendy’s. Every time, and I’m not exaggerating, they screw up our order when going through the drive through. We ask for no cheese on a burger there’s cheese. Ask for x numbers of fries and there’s one missing. It got to the point that I finally would go inside every time the kids wanted it. Even then they would get it wrong but at least I could fix it right away. Honestly now we won’t go there and it’s tainted my view of going into Wendy’s in general. It isn’t hard to get a simple order correct.

Perhaps someone can please explain to me why Wendy’s insists on serving the soft drinks rather than allow refills? Oh, I guess it keeps the«dollar specials» from being a full meal’s beverage. Got it! Lately I’ve noted that a $ 4+ chicken sandwhich is called ‘Ultimate” even though it has only Mayo, Lettuce and Tomato on it and comes on a bun that looks like it came from the«8 pak for $ 1» at Aldi bag. They have lost so much of what made them better in the past. I’d give it a pass for a few more years/
