Basic fast-casual dining. i had to try Wisconsin fried cheese curds at least once, right? It was not worth the 580 calories. Neither was the price for basic single cheeseburger, side, and drink. A butterburger means that the top bun is buttered? Sounds like a scam. Butterburger implies a pat of butter while cooking the patty, yo. Add the sad patrons who came to dine while we were there and I’m never coming back. This is not why I love the Midwest. ick.

We fell in love with the Culvers in Huntley, IL. So when we saw one here in buffalo Grove, we just got excited and happy. We have made this place as one of our go to places when we can’t think of anything else to eat. The staff are very friendly and always seem to be happy working there. If not, then they fake it well. We typically order the chicken strips, fries, salads, cheese burgers with everything on it. The variety of food are a good selection. Everything seems to be cooked fresh.

This review will be a short one. I was in the area, had a short window of time to kill, was hungry and this place was right where I was at. Culver’s to me is always preferred if I am going to go the fast food route. Their places are always clean, service is always fast + friendly, and the food is pretty good. Ordered a Sour Dough melt meal. A little bit on the greasy side as melts tend to be but it did the trick and hit the spot. Cheers to All

The original fast casual concept, order at the front, get a number sit down and be served. The featured item for Culver’s is: their butterburger… or is it the custard? Or is it their extensive comfort food dinner menu? Whatever you are looking for, Culver’s should have what you are craving. My usual stop when I’m getting back from Wisconsin on a weekend, I’m glad I don’t have to drive another 40mins just to get a custard. Culver’s started originally in Wisconsin, as a classic burger, custard and shake joint. Its since grown through expansion through the midwest and beyond. Seeing a Culver’s is almost like seeing a trusted old friend. Familiar and haha beckoning me to have a bowl of custard. For me, since I have an insatiable desire for custard, Culver’s is about the custard. So rich, creamy and delectable. They have a flavor of the day which keeps it interesting if you must have it everyday. But I enjoy their classic vanilla. Their menu is quite extensive, so it could take a while to figure out what you want. I usually see people position themselves far from the cashiers as they take in all their options. Perhaps Culver’s should consider reducing their menu as a result with just occasional specials to keep the ordering experience easy. I usually see people pondering for a while staring at the overhead board menus. Fried fish and chips to pot roast to fried chicken and of course burgers, chicken sandwich and pork tenderloin sandwich’s, oh and then cheese curds… Today there was a special for $ 5 for the cheeseburger single value basket which comes with fries and a med drink. Good deal, and apparently they usually run specials, just ask the cashier(you’ll feel like you’re being told a secret cause they don’t post it.). I had the cheeseburger with the works and it was just ok. Drier patty and the bread was no as toasted as I’ve had before, also the cheese slice was not melted. Also had an order of the cheese curds, which was good, but didn’t have the same teeth squishy texture/sound as the ones I’ve gotten from Wisconsin Culver’s. Fries are crinkle cut and delicious. Most of the staff are on the younger side and probably less experienced as the front of the house was not as knowledgeable with the menu or the running specials(had to ask another team member). Be patient, and just enjoy the custard… :)While I feel this Culver’s tries to focus on service, as a member of the staff helped box up leftovers table side for an older couple. However, I think inexperience and training for the staff could use improvement. There is not as much interaction from the staff /customers as in other similar restaurant concepts these days. The staff is friendly though, and quick to address fixes though. Culver’s makes themselves part of the community(sponsoring baseball teams and supporting the library reading programs). Which I really appreciate as I am part of this community, and Culver’s still has me wanting to come back for custard.

Am a frequent flyer here. Place is better than many other culvers I have been to. Always post their specials online which I like. Place is always clean. Easy parking. Love their specials. Sometimes they will charge you the regular price but when you mention the special they will change it. Keep up the superior standards Culver is supposed to stand for!

Culver’s definitely has the best quality among the other fast food burgers. Their pricing is little expensive but considering the quality of the meat you get, this is normal. I also tried other menu items in this location like the chicken sandwich and fried chicken. They were really good and not over greasy. I would like to mention the service quality in this location; especially the blonde manager guy. He is at the cashies, he mixing concretes at the back, he is serving food, he is delivering packages to drive-in and he is literally everywhere still smiling. They should give him a raise asap. One thing I can complain about is that, they need to send out more coupons. Their competitors have better deals all the time. Culver’s should do more buy and get one free stuff.

In all fairness, tonight was a fundraiser for the local school districts. Also, everyone had their mailer coupons with them. Kudos to Culver’s for giving back to their community. I Ordered 2– DBL Culver ButterBurgers with 2 for 1 coupon. Great bargain. Bun wasn’t warmed, lettuce & Tomato were cold, burger was Tepid(Meh) and the cheddar cheese was an unheated slice. Not the first time I was served room temperature burger at this or any other Culver’s. My wife ordered the Cod sandwich. Was served screaming hot. Was outstanding. Fries were Hot and crisp. If only Culver’s could serve their burgers screaming hot like their Cod(deep fried) In their Cod sandwich, I would come more often instead of going to Sm*shBurger. 2 ½ stars rounded down to 2 stars because I am eating in the burger.

This Culver’s location is amazing, very professional, and serves quality food. I ordered food through the drive through and asked for no tomatoes on my burger when I got home I found tomatoes. I called the the restaurant and the manager apologized and sent me free meal coupons plus free frozen custard sundaes. I was happy the manager addressed my issues and made things right. Another incident occurred when I was in the drive through with my son and I ordered food, the restaurant has issues with its vent and had to call the fire department. The manager apologized for the inconvenience and offered to refund my money. I asked if I could back later for the food and the manager said yes. To my surprised when I came back, the manager remembered me and comped two meals for me. Now this is what I call exceeding customer’s expectation.

I’ve never had a bad meal at Culver’s. I’ve eaten at various Culver’s perhaps 80 – 100 times, and Culver’s is my quick-service restaurant of choice. This Culver’s was no different, but it had an exceptionally friendly and accommodating community atmosphere, which I appreciated. My wife was very pregnant(less than 10 days from the due date), and our previous baby showed up 12 days early… so I was nervous. She was attending 3 days of training nearby, and I was driving her back and forth from Dekalb to Riverwoods every day(to keep close to the local doctor /hospital at night). I can only shop so much(I can get bored at a mall in about an hour), so I hung out at this restaurant each day for several hours. The manager made me feel welcome, and recommended a quiet location with an outlet for my laptop. I ate lunch there all 3 days. One day, there were 5 tables of Mahjong players(4 per table)…they used Culver’s as a local social club. The manager knew many of the players and welcomed them(most of them ordered food). The restaurant was busy during lunch, but not«crowded»…there were always seats available. It was nice to have a place to hang out without feeling like I was loitering.

We eat here somewhat often. Got home today with a larger order and found we were missing the most important meal, my Sons meal. Being the dad of a special needs child, getting him wintered up and to drive back is just too much effort at times. I called and spoke to the manager and voiced my dissatisfaction and explained I cannot come back and She immediately offered without my asking to drive it over to me and I accepted her offer. Not only did my sons meal with an added large custard show up shortly after! The manager herself delivered it. What started as and could have been an unhappy customer turned into me thanking Her and taking the time to tell others of this gesture and effort on the part of Culvers manager. Steve — a very happy Culvers customer — ps — the food is great

The butter burgers here are great, classic American burger. You can’t not like the cheese curds here either. They have custard instead of ice cream, which is smoother richer and just better. Pretty clean restaurant, waitstaff is friendly and helpful. If you haven’t been here it’s a must try, classic greasy American food.

These teenage kids who run this place can’t pull their heads out of their own asses to do their jobs properly. The girl who was in charge of running the food out forgot my dad’s hot fudge sundae(which was melting already and the wimpiest looking sundae ever, and we only ordered TWO things so she forgot a whole half of our order) and before she could even hand over the half she DID remember, dangling the food right in front of me but NOT handing it to me, she shouts at her coworker whos leaving, «Stop blocking me on snapchat!» And then waits for a response(that doesn’t come). Child, like your personal snapchat life matters to anyone, including dude who obviously doesn’t like you so stop embarrassing yourself and do your job. When I told her she forgot half our order, she takes her time to go get my dads sundae, and conveniently neglects to include a spoon. So getting home 10 minutes later, my dad had wimpy ice cream soup and I had a pathetic chicken sandwich with no toppings. I get that you normally top them yourself, but include some ketchup packets or something. God. I worked for Potbelly for two years, so I know proper fast food service and thats not even close to acceptable. Not patronizing this particular Culver’s again. Too bad, I love their pot roast.

I stopped in here after going to the Long Grove Confectionery Co. with a group of residents from the retirement community I work at. The people here were very sweet. There was someone who held the door open as all my 8 residents and 1 staff member walked in. They also asked how many people there were so they could pre set up a table for us. The one cashier was also very patient with three of my residents who were just staring blankly at the menu as I asked them what they wanted and they said no to everything. This was a very pleasant experience. The food was great and came out very quickly even though it was 12:30-lunchtime! I had gone with a group to a different Cuvler’s and they had me fill out a little paper just giving them a little info about who we were, where we came from and why, etc. This place didn’t do that, but the manager(I think?) came by and asked if we needed anything. Great experience!

I’m definitely a fan of this spot which has been around forever but I didn’t get a chance to review it until now. When coming here you place your order up front and then you get a number and then you go sit down and they will bring it out for you. If you don’t want to come in, they have a nice drive through service option where they will bring out your food, which is also nice. Also, they have a few outdoor tables for those nice summer nights where you want to eat your custard outside. Most times that I come here, I always get my usual 2 scoop chocolate custard in a cup but recently I decided to venture out and try one of their butter burgers because how could I not have had one all these years. I ordered a single cheeseburger delux which is super cheap for like $ 3 and I have to say that it’s much better then other fast food places like Wendy’s or Burger King. It’s by no means gourmet but it will hit the spot when you need it and I’m hoping that the beef is real. The delux comes with lettuce, mayo, onions and pickles and I always get ketchup on the side because I like lots of sauce. Honestly their French fries are not my fave but their onion rings aren’t bad so you can always get those to go with your burger. But the main reason that I come here and will continue coming back is their custard. It’s creamy, sweet and perfectly delicious especially on all summer nights. I also get chocolate because I’m definitely a chocolate over vanilla kinda gal. However, every day they have a flavor of the day so I’m trying to catch when they have cookie dough since that will be yummy in any custard. And for around $ 3 for a two scoop cup, it’s definitely the best cold treat around. The kids and managers working here are always nice and if you come during lunch hour, someone will stop by and even ask how your food is which is very nice. I once dropped a $ 20 bill here and a manager held onto it after I left which I thought was very honorable since let’s be real, who would actually turn in someone cash. I was pleased with them and will come back for years to come. Oh and they have coupons for burgers and sundaes so bring your friends and make the most of the experience. It can get a little hectic during dinner rush so come afterwards for a guaranteed table.

The food tasted good, when we finally got the right order. WHOmP WhOMp… We had multiple mixed up items and missing items :(The sundae I tasted was delicious, but the ice cream of the day was coconut cream pie, which barely tasted like coconut.

A Culver’s disaster. This location has really disappointed me with my past few visits. The manager argues with me when I ask for extra sauce. My dad requested strawberries on his dollar scoop of custard and was willing to pay extra and she still said no, despite or never being a problem the many other times he asked. This last time is what really did it for me. We went there on a snowy evening to get food to go. The food was cold, onion rings were too soggy to eat anew the fried we ordered were missing. When we called, the same manager offered us free fries but didn’t understand why we wouldn’t come there on a night with inches of snow covering icy roads. It became such a hassle we just gave up. We told her we would stop in for our few free orders of fries on a day that had better weather. Going out in that weather for a few bucks isn’t worth it. We still haven’t gone back.

I have been here a few times since my grandmother is in the Assisted Living home next door. Their food is always excellent and the service is friendly. The tables are typically cleaned promptly after they are turned over. Culvers is not the cheapest fast food dining, but they do make a mean burger! Their deserts are also the bomb!
