One girl was working on a rainy Sunday afternoon and she was so slow. There was only one person in front of us and she didn’t even act like she saw us… We ended up walking out of there with nothing after 15 minutes

Absolutely disgusting. I got a peanut butter drink and asked for coffee to be put in it. My girlfriend had a chai-charger. After 20 mins I got my drink and it was peanut butter and ice. Tasted terrible. I asked if they remembered to add coffee and the lady said I could add my own. The chai– charger was disgusting. Not to mention they were both overpriced. We got our money back. Don’t waste your time.

Wonderful tea and muffins. I always stop here in buellton since its so close to the freeway. There’s also a bathroom which is great when you are just driving by. There is even free wifi so I can rate on Unilocal :)

This place is just Meh-okay. My husband and I have tried a few different coffees, never gotten anything that we REALLY liked. Service ranges greatly. I usually just grab a iced coffee from McDonald’s but decided to give Sunrise a chance the other day. The iced coffee was pretty weak. I went over to the cream/sugar station and the half & half container smelled rotten. Having worked in numerous restaurants I could tell it was a matter of not emptying their milk/creamer containers at night and washing them(something that should be done daily.) So ya, that kinda grossed me out, I asked for new cream in the carton. All in all, I don’t think I’ll be back.

Visited on a Sat morning at 8am. The best thing was the friendly service. There were lots of drip coffee choices, and good coffee selection overall. There were 3 flavors of sugar free syrups for a fit latte. I found it odd that for this time of morning there were no pastries, etc. There was a case with 3 shelves. The top shelf had 3 carrot muffins. The other 2 were empty. Be sure to know-before-you-go this is a coffee shop/mail box store. When I first pulled up I was slightly confused.

This mocha might be delicious. But the fact that we just hit Santa Maria and it is still too hot to drink is not prepping me for a great experience. A logical rule would seem to be that a beverage should never be so hot that you can’t drink it for over forty minutes after buying it without fear that you will lose all the layers of skin on the roof of your mouth. Someone should inform sunrise coffee of this.

Chocolate croissant was dry and tasted day old. I was overcharged for a extra coffee, the young lady corrected this. Looks like a outdated privately owned coffee house, that has seen better days. The place just looks dirty, ceiling, glass, counters, Employees were dressed like they were going to a flea market, very poor presentation. I asked the young lady(teenager) where I should put my dirty plate and coffee mug, she said with attitude, put it anywhere, like I was bothering her! Hey I was trying to do the right thing. So do the right thing and go elsewhere.

I dropped in on a road trip up further north, and needed a pick-me-up. Hello awesome and friendly help behind the counter! I don’t remember her name, but she was lovely! I brought in my own mug, and I got 15% off! They had 5 – 6 different types of drip coffee to choose from, I was in caffeine heaven! My friend and I also split the most delicious, apricot scone. It was massive and majorly hit the spot! Thank you!

Really? Came in to inquire about coffee for an event — large order — couldn’t tell me how much or how many an air pot would serve. Then I left, called later to order and was left on hold indefinately. But alas, I got to listed to the young(bimbo’s) gals talking to each other about their«like oh my God I totally fried my hair» «uh yo did?»… Unprofessional and obviously doesn’t need the business in this economy. Must be nice.

Montecito coffee tasted like dirt water(Vanilla blend was okay). While paying I noticed in the muffin box a lone fly trapped inside crawling all over the muffins, disgusting. We will never make this a pit stop again. gross.

They have awesome vanilla chai and clean bathrooms, but the service is so slow. Don’t go here if you’re on your way to work and don’t have 15 minutes to wait around. I don’t even understand why it was that slow, there were 3 people that I could see working and only 3 customers. Also it was a chilly morning and I was surprised at how much cleavage the baristas were showing. Not really a complaint but sometimes cleavage confuses me. I think I need to put their tip in it.

Hands down worst chai latte I’ve ever had! First time I’ve ever gone back to have them remake it. It cost 5.50 for a large soy chai(way over priced) and I had them remake me a soy latte which was passable. Service was slow, but they were nice enough about making me a new drink.

This place saved us on our way back to Los Angeles from Northern California. Or me rather. The blueberry scone and blended coffee drink were just the right amount of sugar and caffeine I needed to sit through traffic on the 101. Even though the blended vanilla latte would probably be a bit too sweet for my taste on any other day. Friendly waiter and waitress. Cozy interior. People playing chess. I’d probably stop here again on my way north or south, depending on where I was coming from. And especially since there are slim pickings in the area!

Stopped by off of Highway 101 for a pit stop and this place turned out to be quite an expensive pit stop at that, it was super expensive for the special that they had for the day which was a Mixed Green Salad with Albacore Tuna. The salad tasted very nice and I loved the touch of the tuna with the balsamic vinagrette. I have to say though that service was a bit slow even if my party and I came before the rush of people. This place doesn’t get a 2 star for taste but it does get a 2 star for service for my visit. One of the people in my party ordered a bagel which took about twenty minutes to prepare for some reason. We had to ask 2 times for the order to be done and I believe that the man working there had said that he forgot about it… with the certain person in my party who just wanted a bagel after a 5 hour drive, it was so frustrating to see that just a bagel would be that complicated. On another note the vibe of this place is nice, very earthy — I asked if they had sodas and they replied that they had natural sodas. The décor of the place is very nice but I guess you pay for the atmosphere with the pricing. In short, service was a bit cloudy, taste was sunny and price was well a bit pricey.

We woke up in Santa Maria only to discover after an exhaustive search that this is not a town with coffee priorities. One place we found on Unilocal was in a hospital(who goes to a hospital to get coffee?) and the other was out of business. My bf suggested we concede to Starbucks. I said under threat of execution, «Why don’t we hold out until we get to Buellton?» Luckily, Sunrise Coffee was right off the main drag in the Albertson’s shopping center. The young girls behind the counter were pleasant and helpful without being perky. The coffee was quite good. The patio out back was heaven. SoCal sunshine in my face and shade for the bf. The pastries are exceptional. Had a big chocolate chip cookie, several scones over a three day period, all fresh and tasty. EATTHEBLACKBERRYPIE!!! Made by a local woman, it is AMAZING!!! Also there is wi fi, and a chess board, for those of you into that sort of thing.

Hmm… looks like they haven’t changed their name on Unilocal yet. This place is actually called Sunrise Coffee now I guess. During a looooonnngggg road trip from LA to SF, my boyfriend and I were running on very empty batteries and were in desperate need of caffeine. We stopped here on a whim, and tried their iced Tuxedo. They made it perfectly, and we were both wide awake and happy the rest of the trip(after stopping at one of the many in-n-out’s too. haha). I loved the inside of this little café. Their magazine selection was awesome(they were mostly wine country magazines… yay!) and they had delicious looking food. I really wish I would’ve tried their blackberry pie. It looked just heavenly, and homemade too! On top of that, they serve their coffee in corn cups, not plastic, and have an awesome selection of teas. Pretty sweet Buellton, pretty sweet.
