Today we tried the Burrito ranchero. Chile verde, rice beans, covered in mild green sauce. The sauce is fabulous We also had two chile rellenos ala carte with a red sauce. They were delicious. With a drink $ 20 We’ve been coming here for ten years and it’s our stop on way back home to Northern California It’s always been excellent and nice service.

We were hungry. We exited US101 northbound in Buellton… right turn, right turn… next thing U know we were across from major shopping center, adjacent to busy Mexican joint — from which we ordered 3 beef hardshell tacos(excellent) and 1 carnitas burrito(- rice, + sour cream, + avocado). Sublime — we enjoyed all, but burrito was most excellent, well worth steep $ 9 price. Big and Porky… Highly Recommended. Bye the way, I don’t know what planet RyanC lives on, but the food and service were great; and for what it’s worth, I am not a family member, friend, or employee.

4.5÷5 stars An authentic Mexican place that’s great for takeout. My family and I drive through Buellton a few times a year to northern California and we always stop here as a halfway point for lunch. It never disappoints and is always tasty. Though it’s a little pricey for esentially street style cuisine, you will leave feeling satisifed. The gentleman who usually works here always has a smile and is very accomodating and friendly. We love splitting the beef taquitos and getting the fish tacos, nachos, tostada, and chicken quesadilla.

I love this place. It’s family owned and man do they make some good food. It’s no frills, just good Mexican food accompanied with the best salsa around. Did I mention how inexpensive it was? You will spend more at the Carls Jr. across the street for significantly lower quality food.

This place is a hole in the wall that serves outstanding Mexican food. It was my first time stopping there based on a recommendation and I was not disappointed. The service was fantastic and the food was even better. I highly recommend this location.

We were traveling through the area for a few days, and this spot was a gem we stumbled upon! Amazing homemade chips and salsa and incredible chimichangas! Probably the best chicken chimichanga I’ve ever had. The service was excellent, and we were particularly impressed by one man who worked there as our server one day and as our cashier another. He had the best attitude and smile, and he radiated joy. What a great restaurant with such great employees! We left with full bellies and full hearts.

Since, my last time visiting Burrito Loco. We and a bowl of Posole tonight. It was good. They apologized for the other cooks bad service. It’s a new year, time to forgive and forget.

Traveling on a major holiday can be challenging. Not only is there heavier traffic on the highways with stressed drivers going long distances, but if you didn’t pack substantial snacks to sustain all-day driving, you were dependent on places to eat along your route being open on said major holiday. We lucked out that this place was open midday on Thanksgiving Day. It was purr good fortune that the chips and burrito were especially good! The chips was delicious and tasty without any salsa, even. The chicken in our burrito was generously packed with tender chunks of chicken meat. ‘Twas much appreciated.

Terrible, i ordered the chimichanga with chicken i believe. I might as well have just had water. It was really soggy, the chicken was just drenched in liquid. I had the taco with asada. same thing. I never ever going to come back

I’m a vegan, hard to be in these parts… However, on Sunday 2÷22÷15 I had to be at a gf oscar party and rather than bring in the meat, the owner suggested I take a tray of potato tacos, bag of chips and salsa… It was out if site and the owner was so nice! Love this place!

Literally over half their menu list all kinds of burritos. Unfortunately I aimed high… and got burned. You’d think I’d learn. If the Mexicans aren’t eating there, the foods authenticity should come into question. My spider senses were off due to hunger. I walked in for a to go order at 8pm. Nice friendly welcome. Ordered my wife a vegetarian burrito. She liked it. Pricey at $ 6.49 My daughter got a breakfast burrito.(Served all day). Liked it. $ 7.49 Then the stars start falling. Son ordered a #11(pork enchiladas). Could barely find them through the sauce. The combo came with very little rice and beans. Weak at best. An them came my order… the guy who paid for everything. I go with their«Ultimate» steak burrito for $ 8.99. Open the to go box on the road. Pathetic. Smaller than a 99¢ burrito at Del Taco, filled only with onion, bellpepper and grisel. Nothing else. Furious. Second .most expensive item on the menu and its the worst. $ 34 bucks later I found out they had more authentic Mexican food at Taco Bell up the street. I like given mom & pop places a try, but sometimes you find a dud.

Needed to stretch the legs and get a bite to eat, decided to stop here and see if I could find something to work. A few vegetarian choices listed-a good sign. I had the vegie enchiladas, came with rice, beans, chips and salsa. Very good salsa. Good choice for me in Buellton. Likely return when traveling through. They could get more creative with vegie blend. Basically grilled/sautéed onions and green pepper. If zucchini, carrots, grilled jalapeños, etc were added, would add flavor and variety.

Great little find right off the 101. The salsa is amazing. We got a big cup of the salsa to go. That’s how good it is. I ordered the pozole and my guy ordered the chile verde plate. Both were excellent. I also got horchata to drink and it was delicious. You can tell they made it from scratch. Well, you can tell everything was made from scratch here. We watch the lady making the salsa in the blender right in view of where you walk in. And the people are really friendly. Will definitely be back when We’re out this way again

Driving up from Santa Monica to SB in bumper to bumper traffic on my way home in SLO county. This place was an Awesome find. Just exactly what I needed after a hectic Friday escaping the zoo on the 101. The staff was EXCELLENT! I ordered Carnitas tacos, delicious! But here is the real kicker. My gauge for whether or not I’ll be returning is the Horchata. Simple enough, if it’s a mix or pre-made the the food better be the best I’ve EVER had.(I’ll just order something else to drink) But Real scratch made, means they really care about what they are serving to you. Their Horchata was top notch! Made with real vanilla beans and real rice! So their attention to detail is worth checking out!

OK, we drove by this place by accident and decided to check it out on Unilocal. My wife and I had a lunch here on the patio with our dogs. Good service, friendly staff and wonderful food. I had the Chile Verde and it was spectacular. The wife had chicken tacos that were great. We ordered an Albondigas soup which was the best but too big to eat there. We took a nice container back to our campsite and enjoyed it later. This, to me, is a 5 star because it is the best at what it is. A small, independent Mexican Restaurant. It is not fancy and the location is not prime. However, it has great food, reasonable prices, good service and friendly people. To me, that works out to 5 stars!
