Came across this place after the gym & my workout was a total loss. {but it was definitely worth it} The five stars is only for the eel noodle burger. This burger is worthy of a michelin star, as the pan fried noodle is the buns of the sandwich with eel, sauce, tomato, & lettuce. {very creative– pure genius} Also tried the green tea w/red bean slush. I was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t too sweet– just a perfect compliment to my burger. I went back & tried the curry beef stew w/rice– not a fan. The beef & potatoes were diced up so small, it felt like I was eating baby food. The staff is very laid back {a bit too much} & not too welcoming. They don’t greet customers or seem to really care about the business. As long as they make burgers, I will keep coming back.

I came here with the $ 5 for $ 10 Unilocal deal. Service wasn’t very amiable; they just let the customers be. I ordered Takoyaki and Noodle Fried Pork Burger. Takoyaki was yummy but not extraordinary. I like how they put big pieces of squid in the center, unlike other places that put a tiny single piece. Noodle Fried Pork Burger was okay. I enjoyed the crispy noodle buns, but as other reviewers said, it’s very oily(definitely use the gloves that they give you). The fried pork was crispy, but had no flavor. Luckily there was sauce in the burger(tasted like a mix of ketchup and mayo?) I would go here again.

To be honest, the ramen is just like instant noodles from a package except 10 times the price. I don’t think a bowl of noodles for more than $ 7 is worth it. The menu said fresh mango slush however it was powder. Please don’t state«fresh» on the menu if it is not true. Don’t forget to use the 10% check in offer from Unilocal.I doubt I’ll be back here. I rather spend the money on some sushi around the neighborhood.

I came here exclusively to try the ramen burger. But decided while heading there that I would get Japanese ramen also. This is a sit where ever you want kind of place. The place is pretty small and dark. Ordered the cha shu ramen and the beef ramen burger. The food came amazingly fast. The cha shy ramen was decent. The tonkatsu broth was delicious, the noodles were decent enough. I just wished they had a little more ingredients in it as there is not much of the corn or veggies. The ramen burger was served with plastic gloves if you needed them. Which I found hilarious. It was pretty oily, but it had good flavor and the meat was cooked well. The staff doesn’t really check up on you, so it was a little awkward to have to get the check at the cashier. Overall decent meal and I would come back since it is close to where I live.

I thought this place was a HK style café. It wasn’t until I saw the menu that I realized it was a Japanese ramen and apps place. The menu is simple and compared to other Japanese places much more affordable. I have had the ramen, curry pork chops over rice, fried squid legs, pork sausage, grill rice and takoyaki. All ordered to go. Pros: Good ramen soup. I had the tonkatsu soup base. The ramen noodles were firm and had a nice snap. The fried squid legs were very good. Pork sausage was tasty. Pork chops were good. The ramen burger tasted good but more on that below. Everything affordable. Thank god its not another place selling crap sushi. Cons: I am not a fan of corn and bean sprouts in my ramen. Would rather see them put bamboo shoots. Also the curry on the pork chops seem like they were prepared from mixes you buy at the store. I could be wrong and no it doesn’t bother me. But the broccoli with the rice does. Just give me curry pork chops and some potatoes to go with the curry… I don’t care for the broccoli. The burger in the ramen burger was dry and tastes like it was a frozen patty from costco. The ramen that complemented the burger was a little oily. The only thing that saved it was the mayo. Not sure what they were thinking when they put in greens instead of lettuce. Their grilled onigiri(rice) was really pan seared and sauce added afterwards. I would think it should be grilled with the sauce. Also the staff was playing cards when I walked in because it was empty. Not a good look which can explain their views towards service. It’s good food but not great. Somewhat gimmicky with the rice and ramen burgers. There is definitely room for improvement but I would go back just to grab something for a quick dinner.

Second and last time here. Dined in with my kids and the servers werent bothered by that at all. We ordered the dumplings and two entrees. The dumplings are average but my son loves them. The curry chicken is average as well but its a good portion. The ramen — second time around — no improvement. Still bland and small portion. They skimp on everything from the meat to the few kernels of corn and of course the noodles themselves. And service still didnt improve. I still had to waive to get my order taken, and to ask for utensils, and had to go to the register to grab my check.

Noodle beef burger: YUM. Crispy ramen noodles pan fried and shaped into faux-buns with a very thin beef patty in the center. Wings: crispy and flavorful! Takoyaki: creamy, smokey, not really my style but the boyfriend thought they were great. Red Bean bubble tea was soo good, I can live on just that alone. Would come back, it’s a great little neighborhood SPOT.

I came here when it was newly open. They have the popular concept of the ramen burger plus the rice burger. I had the tonkotsu pork ramen, which was pretty decent but not like OMG so good. My dining companion decided to try the shrimp rice burger. It’s just replacing the bread part with rice, with the rice molded into a bread shape. It does fall apart while eating, so it will get a little messy. I thought the rice burger was ok. I could pass on that.

First time here, other than lighting, place was dead. Since we had a groupon, i tried the pork tonkastu, i must say its nothing really special, meat no flavor, but i did like the soup. Should be more generous on the corn tho! I did not see much in my bowl…:( We was not really greeted when walked in, we got settled on our own, grabbed a high chair. After order was taken, no one checked on us, i even had to get the bill myself. We also gave the ramen burger a shot. Not bad. Will try the rice burger next time if stopping by again.

Had lunch with my sister today. We’re twins, alot of our interests, tastes are the same, pretty much. Both were in a mood for ramen and decided to come(they’re doing a groupon right now so get it before coming). It’s fairly dark inside… dark colored decors, black tables and chairs on top of the gloomy weather right now. Weren’t greeted when we came in, grabbed a table ourselves since it was dead, my sister helped herself with a high chair for Kaylen. Anyways, what caught our eyes were the rice and noodle burgers on the menu. Is it similar to ramen burger? Got one of the noodle pork burger to try, also ordered a tonkotsu pork ramen, and a plate of braised pork on rice. Let’s first talk about the pork ramen, the pork was so plain that it almost blended in their white color broth served in a white bowl, as bland as it can get. The tonkotsu flavored soup base is decent, noodles were cooked well. Next, the braised pork on rice, nice coffee color, to me it was on the salty side. Lastly, the noodle burger. Similar to a ramen burger, instead made with a thin yellow noodle. Pork patty was crispy, flavors were there but could be seasoned more. Note to self, will think about coming back if they have the groupons again.

After trying Spot One with a Groupon deal, I’m glad to say that my experience at spot one was a really terrific one. The food is seriously really good. I ordered the fried squid, takoyaki, tofu, ramen burger with fried pork and a honey dew milkshake. Don’t worry if it sounds like a lot of food. I shared it with my cousin :) Even though the ramen burger was a tad bit on the flavorless side(nothing hot sauce couldn’t fix), the appetizers and especially the honeydew milkshake blew my mind. Would I come back? Heck yes. The food is easily better than most Asian joints around 86th street. just don’t order strictly ramen or else you’ll come out disappointed. Order their appetizers and milkshakes.

Finally a good spot in my neighborhood worth talking about. The interior is nice and there is a decent amount of seating. They give cold jasmine tea instead of water which is a plus 1 star for me The menu has a fair amount of variety and unique choices not offered at most places in the neighborhood. The food: Noodle beef burger: Perfect. Noodles are crispy and beef is juicy, with the perfect amount of sauce and lettuce. Wings: Very crispy and delicious. Takoyaki: Crispy, Flavorful, creamy and smokey. On par with the many I have tried at other spots. Bubble Tea: red bean is delicious and filling, black milk tea is standard. Prices are pretty cheap, and they take card. Will need to come back to try the rice burger and a bunch of the other stuff I saw. Great addition to the hood.

I agree 86th street does not need other sushi joint. this place is doing a lot of promotion to attract customers. It was interesting because they have ramen burger. I thought there will be more customers because the line was so long for ramen burger at smorgasburg williamsburg. oh well. I guess people around here still prefer regular chinese food? I came here and ordered a bowl of ramen. ramen was just ok. couldn’t compare it to other ramen places that I had in manhattan but at least spot one café is slightly different than other restaurant on 86th street. they also offer bubble tea and other specialty drinks. I might have to return more often to determine whether i like this place or not.

I work in a restaurant and I know how bad the owner and the crew see a one star review. But sorry Spot 1. You asked for it. I saw a groupon deal and thought it was a good reason to give it a try(for a second time). So I purchased a $ 15 worth voucher and call for my order. When I arrived 15 min later to pick up my food, I told the manager I pay with groupon, his face changed and said its for dine-in only!!! WHAT? I read the fine print a few times and there was no word on «dine-in only». FINE! So I decided to pay with credit card($ 10 min) but I was told tax will apply. Are you kidding me?!? I feel like I was trapped. First with a scam groupon then a force payment plan. Nice customer service! Now Back to the food! Curry pork chop rice $ 6.5 One of the worse curry. Not sure if it’s a Japanese curry crossover hk style curry with a hint of canton curry. But it just taste wired. Plus, The sauce is not enough to go with the rice. Seafood ramen $ 8.5 The ramen like other reviewer said, like instant noodles, the soup base taste good Seafood? It has two pieces of fake crab sticks, 3 pieces of chopped squid, two shrimps and maybe one thin slice of fish cake. All those totally not worth $ 8.50 Beef steak $ 9.5 I didn’t taste the steak. I was chewing cardboard. Hard and dry Tonkotsu pork ramen $ 7 Again, The noodles taste like instant noodles. Soup base is ok. I already asked groupon for refund so I don’t need to come back ever again.

Alright alright so I caved into temptation and had lunch here again. It wasn’t as good as it was before. My companion got a seafood ramen with wasabi shoyu base and it was great. I had a shrimp noodle burger. I didn’t know that they mash up the shrimps and fried them into patties but the burger overall was extremely soaked with oil and it held together but eh. The service today wasn’t that good either. For the whole entire meal, no one bothered to bring us water at all.

Move over, ramen burger! This place has a fried rice burger! The beef one is cheap at $ 5.50, but the patty wasn’t amazing. The type of meat where you’re glad they don’t ask you how you want it — just get it well-done. The grilled salmon appetizer tasted and smelled funny. The fried chicken appetizer was good though. Very crispy. Also tried the curry chicken over rice. The curry wasn’t very flavorful or spicy. Cheap though. There’s a Unilocal Deal($ 7 for $ 15), which made it the meal worth it. Otherwise, I don’t think I’d return.

5 stars for how honest these guys are! I accidentally left $ 40 more than I intended to and one of the workers came running down the long avenue after my family to give it back to us when they could have easily kept the money. Not only that but everything we ate was good. I particularly liked the udon, fried dumplings, teriyaki salmon, fried potato shrimp, and pork tonkontsu ramen but also enjoyed everything else we ate, which were the french fries, hash browns, ramen burger, and rice burger. Highly recommend for cheap and quick eats!

I came here with a friend to try their rice burger and boy, it was amazing! I mean I’ve heard enough of ramen burgers but RICEBURGERS?! THAT’S SOMETHINGNEW! When the waiter brought us the food, I was a tad bit hesitant to try it because I can actually see the oil in the burger. But I’m so glad I tried it. The first bite kinda reminded me of fried rice… Well, I guess that’s what it is, since the«bun» was replaced with rice patties… But the burger just gets better and better… DEFINITELY try the shrimp burger! It was so juicy and delicious! For only $ 6.50, you couldn’t ask for more. Try it and you’ll know what I’m saying. My friend had it with beef, and he loved it just as much as I loved mine. Aside from the rice burgers, we also had the Salmon Steak($ 4.00) and BBQ Grilled Squid($ 9.00). Honestly, those, you can pass. They didn’t taste bad, but they weren’t outstanding; and they were somewhat overpriced. For $ 4.00, you only get 4TINY pieces of grilled salmon over some kinda teriyaki or soy sauce(I’m not too sure what they made the sauce with). Not worth the price.
