The place always smells like bacon and it has iced coffee and a breakfast sandwich for $ 3.75. The place is solid.

I’ve always found diners in New York to blow. Either the food is just too crappy, or the price makes it pointless to actually go to the diner. As my cousin’s husband sagely put this thanksgiving, «Diners should be about getting a home-cooked meal, with good ingredients, without breaking the bank.» Nick’s restaurant isn’t quite that, but its still awesome. I got my standard diner dish: 2 eggs over easy, corned beef hash, homefries, wheat toast, coffee, ice water and a glass of orange juice(the meal by which I judge all diners). It was good, slightly above average in quality, taste and portions. However, the reason why I’ll probably be going to Nick’s for the rest of my life was that the whole meal, with tax and tip, came out to 8 bucks. There’s a lot of meals I can get for 8 bucks, but to sit down at a diner, and get that meal, with that service, for 8 bucks was awesome. Can’t wait to go back again.
