I’ve lived in this neighborhood for eleven years and have been coming to this café long before it was even Café Dada. The food and drinks are fine, but the manager is so extraordinarily rude that I have to speak out. I often meet young people I’m interviewing here, because it feels like a pleasant place to have a coffee and chat. That said, the manager has repeatedly made a negative impression on me with his haughty and bizarrely intimidating manner. The last time I was there, at 4pm, he informed that I would not be allowed to sit in the back of the restaurant with my young interviewee, as that was«reserved for people who are eating.» I said that we would likely be covering some personal material and it would be uncomfortable to sit 6 inches away from another table when the entire back half of the restaurant was empty. He looked over my head and unsmilingly said«No.» Needless to say, when we got up to leave 40 minutes later, not one table in the back was occupied. I am a grown woman, not a child or teenager who needs to have my hand slapped. My request was made very politely and I was shocked to be treated so disrespectfully in return. I’m sure they won’t miss my occasional $ 5, but I hope others will read this review and hold them to an appropriate level of service as well.

Park slope has a lot of cafes — this my ish — me and cafes are best friends — so when I come to the slope I want to have something good — that’s what you’d expect from this neighborhood so I won’t have less. My expectations were met when I came to café DaDa. It’s a cozy, dim lit café. It has plenty of seats and serves lattes. I love a good latte of flat white and they got it here. Unlike other cafes, here they have table service, that’s a plus in my book. Server was cool. No complaints. I got the brioche French toast and a flat white. It was interesting to see the fruit combo because they put on top strawberries and on top with diced pineapple and watermelon. I was surprised that they went well together. Flat white was good too. Strong and bold. I had the latte here too on another day and that was nice as well. So this place is defiantly worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood.

Had lunch here twice. Both times friendly staff and although I had only a very light lunch it was a nice sandwich the first time and an appetizing chocolat croissant the second time. Breakfast till 11.30. Good choice of menu and wide selection of coffees. Children seem very welcome, a good sign!

Service is bad, real bad. Croissants and pastries are good but hot food is bad! Another annoying aspect is the one manager always staring at all the women. He’s so obvious that it’s laugh out loud pathetic.

Good food, lovely atmosphere, lukewarm service. I’m a bit confused about why they named this place Dada, there’s no info in the menu or the walls about what the Dadaists were about or why they are extremely relevant today. The place is big on the 1920s Paris boho aesthetic, not so much on the revolutionary messages conveyed by this movement. The décor is lovely though, it’s an old pharmacy and many of of he original features have been retained. There are some old antique pharmacy things in various places. The food is quite good. I had the gluten free crêpe with spinach, Swiss cheese and crimini mushrooms. I give 3 stars instead of 4 because I asked if it had garlic(I’m allergic), he said no and didn’t put thought into the salad that came with it — the dressing was full of garlic and I found out the hard way. So if you do have allergies or sensitivities make sure you cover garnishes etc when eating there.

Friendly staff and cute place. I may have ordered the wrong item on the menu but I was extremely disappointed with the ratatouille crêpe. It felt like they ran out of ingredients and used the same vegetable to make a dish that requires a lot more. The salad that came with it was also pretty bad. Definitely a fail, won’t be going back there.

I like it that they serve real food — from BK to lunch to dinner — throughout the day so this is a great spot for people who like savory food as well as sweets. But! Again… can someone please pay more attention to the music in the store? It’s loud, it’s tasteless. It completely doesn’t match the décor. Most of the customers are adults. Why can’t they have more tasteful music like beautiful jazz or some real cool background music instead of crappy pop music playing from the radio?

This is a nice little café in Brooklyn. I had the crêpe madame and it was really good! The café was clean and the waitress was very pleasant.

So disappointed in this place. Not sure how they got so many positive reviews with such poor service and quality of food. Here’s what I got: Chai latte– flavor wasn’t bad, but the amount of liquid in the cup was laughable. Paying 5 dollars for ¾ of a cup of a chai tea latte makes me feel bamboozled. Coffee– good, not great 2 eggs with toast($ 9) — that’s literally all you get. Two soft boiled eggs verging on raw, ANDCOLD, in their shell, and 1 piece of toast. Eggs said they were organic, but they were not(I recognized the stamp on the shell of the egg) Oatmeal with cranberries($ 9) — also a sad meal. Just undercooked oats and about 5 cranberries. Service– they were friendly but inattentive. It’s the little things that make an experience dining out a great one. Café dada failed on all accounts. Don’t bother getting breakfast here.

Came here for brunch with my mom who was visiting from out of state. The service is really what makes me give them such a low rating. We waited with payment on the table for about 20 minutes. The place is relatively small so I don’t understand why it took so long. No one asked how the food was. The french toast was good, we also split the parfait but the spoons could not fit into the cup that it came in, very difficult to eat. I would not come back here, maybe they were understaffed, but no one seemed to even attempt to make our experience pleasant

Awesome little café in Park Slope. Get the chocolate almond croissant. it is one of the best pastries I’ve had. The coffee and iced chai latte ain’t bad either. And if you’re looking for something savory, try the frittata.

I wanted to leave a good review. But quality is not impeccable. The atmosphere is welcoming, staff is pleasant, coffee is good. But last week I ordered a salad, and they substituted one green for another without letting me know(I actually preferred what they gave me), and included wilted and yellowed leaves. The portions were stingier than a neighboring café where produce is all organic and always fresh for the same price. Returning this week for coffee and croissant, the croissants looked as if someone had sat on them, and they would have charged the price of an espresso for a ½ decaffeinated cappuccino. I walked 7 blocks to buy local and avoid Starbucks. But skulked into SB for my ½ caf. and not-squashed croissant.

This place is warm, charming and friendly(seriously, the woman who served us was a gem). We experienced outstanding service, good food and reasonable prices. Do note that the menu is changing, so what you see on Unilocal is not 100% accurate. It is also quite pretty inside without feeling«uppity.» So glad to have discovered this place before the winter months. I am sure we will frequent it when it gets cold.

If ur looking for a flavorless brunch with bad service, come here. Madeline was tasty, went well with my tasteless café au lait. Friend had poppy seed cake. Side of brioche toast was dry, served with cold butter. Jam is fresh and yummy. Breakfast salmon crêpe(didn’t see on menu) is served with scrambled egg which needs a sauce as opposed to regular. Frittata is dry and cheese-less. Friend enjoyed her crêpe madam. Budapest sandwich was just all right. 7 grain toast was good bread but slightly burnt. Waitress was abrupt and rolled her eyes.

This is the quintessential European café. It reminds me of the ones I visited while studying abroad. It’s exactly what I envision when I’m reading and characters walk into a café. Small tables, close together. A small counter with various freshly baked pastries in a glass display. The croissants here are outstanding. I had a smoked salmon croissant sandwich. The sandwich had eggs which made for an interesting contrast to the smoked salmon. The croissant was light and flakey. I also had a bite of my girlfriend’s goat cheese croissant sandwich which was delicious as well. During my meal, I had one of the best cups of tea. It was a cup of French lemon ginger. I highly recommend having a cup of this tea if you’re stopping in. We finished up with a chocolate croissant which came right out of the oven. It was so hot that the glass display holding them fogged up. I couldn’t believe it, but this croissant was even lighter and flakier than the breakfast sandwich ones! I’d rate this café four and a half stars.

Ordered: Goat cheese breakfast sandwich on croissant and Chocolate croissant Pros – The egg was cooked to perfection and was very hearty with its abundance of cheese and veggies. The croissants were flakey, buttery and crispy. Some of the best croissants I’ve had to date. Cons – The seating was very cramped. Limited menu.

Had to send my crêpe back because the bacon was really undercooked. Got a new one but it was still no good. Sometimes crêpe comes with salad and sometimes doesn’t. Food is basically lousy. Don’t waste your money. Keep it as a coffee shop visit And you’ll have a fine experience.

Café Dada NY Brooklyn Park Slope 7pm Thursday 12th February 2015 Four Stars It’s kind of a weird coffee in the front and café in the back. I ordered a macchiato instead of my usual cappuccino since I was going to play Zog soccer. The espresso was quite bitter in a good way. The foam was a tad thick for my tastes. I did like the clear cup. The barista was friendly and a bit funny. It took her long to time to get my change since she came out of the freezing cold and her hands weren’t working yet. It was a good moment. Maybe I will try the food here?

I accidentally found this place after another brunch place I was aiming for was closed for the day. We drove around until we happened upon Café Dada. It was a rainy day, but it was still packed. The host was very friendly; he checked on us often and updated us with the status on our wait time. After 15 minutes, we were seated. I loved the chill, no frills atmosphere of this café. I ordered the Croque Monsieur and tried not to butcher the pronunciation of it. It was a sandwich highlighting French ham & gruyère on country bread. And dropped another dollar bill to add a sunny side up egg. It’s not brunch without eggs. The sandwich was hearty and absolutely delicious. I ordered a coffee and later asked for a refill, but before I finished it, it was taken away. I was then charged for two cups of coffee because lo and behold, refills were not free. If they weren’t free, you should probably not remove a coffee that was only half-finished. The management decided to waive one of the coffees. I’ll definitely return for the surprisingly good food and laid-back vibes.
