Frank’s is our favorite pizzeria in Marine Park. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy a family meal.

Was in the shop this evening for a few slices of pizza after a night out. The pizza hit the spot. I enjoyed the décor and the look of the restaurant. A few problems though… 1) my pizza was lukewarm. I don’t know if it’s because I ordered it with mushrooms. 2) they seemed to want us to head out so that they could close up. They even opened the door letting gusts of cold wind in. 3) they began singing la cucaracha which is not very appetizing while you were eating.

So, normally I love this place. We order at least once a week– but today was it. There is a young girl who works there and is unbelievably rude. I placed my order(despite her nastiness) over the phone and was told about 45 minute wait. After an hour and 10 minutes, i called to inquire about the delivery. Her reply was«it’s still here». I said Ok, can u give me an idea of how long it will be before I get my order? She said — i said its still here so no, i dont know when it will be”. WHAAATTT??? Then i told her that i dont appreciate the way that she is speaking to me. I dont see why she has an attitude because i want to know how long I will have to wait. Her reply«too bad, i told u — u have to wait». SHYYTT. I asked for mgr. who apologized but she was still talking trash in the background. What a shame. I wont be ordering as much because if u can be so rude, u don’t deserve my hard earned money. PIZZAJUSTARRIVED. 1 hr and 25 minutes later and ICECOLD. I am done.

i just got pasta carbonara tonight for dinner. The sauce looked sour, it was chunky in some places and liquid in others, not uniform like real restaurants have their sauces. It looked like they had it sitting out and took it off a table they served it to and just reheated it. It tasted absolutely horrible and to top it all off it gave me the worst stomach ache ever. They definitely rescued and reheated it. Would NOT recommend.

I give this one star because I ordered fried calamari and they took something out of a dumpster somewhere and sent it as my order, they should close their business if they are going to serve complete garbage to people. Never again will eat this slop pig crap

I enjoy Frank’s pizza. Simple but good and always quick service when I’m on the go. Worth a try for lunch and nice selection on menu with timely delivery. Parking never easy on Flatbush but this IS Brooklyn.

Classic! Been coming for years. Nice cozy place with the best sausage pies in Brooklyn.

The pizza and pastas here are very good and definitely among the best in the neighborhood. We’ve been eating from here for almost 30 years. The only reason why I won’t give it 5 stars is because I think it’s overpriced for what you get.

The outside of Frank’s is deceiving. It’s a plain sign that says something to the effect of «pizza heros» etc. You may think it’s a run-of-the-mill pizza spot. It’s not. Once inside it’s almost as if you’re transported back to your favorite Sopranos episode. Wood booths, counter service, and old school Italian music are the order of the day. It’s comfortable, familiar, and not at all chaotic or loud. The food is delicious. I don’t know how else to explain it. You can tell the owner takes pride in his ingredients and menu selection. I love the penne vodka and pies(pizza! Although they do have dessert.) The service is great and friendly. The girls are from the neighborhood and treat you with respect. If you’re undecided, I’d like to make a suggestion: Eat at Frank’s. :)

Excellent classic pizzeria. They make fresh pies, one at a time. If you want a topping, they put it on the slice and heat it — not have ten pizzas out all day. There is an espresso machine. Rotating oven! Slices are served on metal platters over paper. All great signs. This would be a great place for an Italian-American meal.

Pretty good pizza. The sauce was 7 – 10. The crust is what made this pizza. Crunchy, light and combined with the cheese. Overall good slice of pizza.

If you haven’t been to Franks you are missing out on some good old time Brooklyn nostalgia. The pizza is delicious and the atmosphere is old school. So if you find the new hipster, doggy day care and 2 million dollar town houses wanting come to Franks for the«old» Brooklyn. You won’t be disappointed.

My favorite neighborgood pizza spot was closed for Labor Day weekend, so I decided to give the local competition a shot. Competition? Not even close. I tried the pizza, the garlic knots, and the cheese calzone. The dough on the cheese calzone had the flavor of a cheap Italian hero, and the cheese blend inside was kind of on the bland side. The pizza had way too much cheese, which might not be so objectionable for everyone, but unless you gobble it up quickly while it’s very hot, you’re eating a congealed cheese mass with some tomato sauce and softened pizza crust. And I like my crust crispy, which this wasn’t. The garlic knots, VERY garlicky, but the bread itself didn’t have much flavor otherwise. I’ll admit, I was very skeptical from the get-go, and determined to find my pizzeria from childhood to be superior in every way, so maybe I set myself up for disappointment. It’s that rare kind of disappointment I’m OK with though, because I think I would have been devastated if I found that I preferred the food here to the pizzeria that I’ve considered the best in the world(or at least in Brooklyn, and yes, that includes DiFara) for my whole life. My husband, who doesn’t have the 25 years of fiece loyalty that I do, deemed the pizza«pretty good»(he likes the extra cheese because he eats faster than I do) and he liked the garlic knots too, so Frank’s will probably be our new back-up pizza place. But for me, it will always be far inferor to the BEST pizza in the world. ROAR!

I didn’t like the fact that they don’t tell you there is a 2.00 delivery fee. I ordered a cheese pizza pie and a sausage roll. The cheese pizza was good but the roll didn’t have mozzarella cheese in it as it stated in their menu.

I’ve eaten here quite a number of times over the years I’ve lived in Marine Park and have also ordered pizza delivered to the house. The food is good. Staff is very nice. Recently I went with a gal-pal to eat dinner there. We both had Pasta Delizioza(shrimp in a red sauce with vegetables/penne pasta). The pasta was ala dente which is how I like it. A bread basket preceded the entrée. The serving size is substantial, but not humongous. A good value for the prices charged. I didn’t have trouble parking that evening, but parking can be a bit of a hassle at times. I’ve also had the eggplant parm which I enjoyed. I also like there meatball pizza and their chicken wings, but this I’ve only ordered delivered to the house.

Whenever I am in Mill Basin I have to stop at Frank’s for Sicilian Pizza. Even though he has a fantastic extensive menu, the Sicilian Square Pizza is the Best. I give them 4 stars only because they have NO Parking, and being on the corner of Quentin and Flatbush, it’s impossible to park without chancing a ticket.

After having visited Frank’s many more times because a friend lived nearby, I may have been a little harsh in my rating(and granted I am TOUGH on pizzerias). While it still isn’t a destination slice, Frank’s makes consistently good pizza. I’m happy to say I jumped the gun in this case! Subsequent visits have yielded a slice that isn’t as limp, especially if you just ask for it well done. The end crust is good, like a piece of fresh bread. The sauce isn’t my cup of tea with the oregano and pepper, but tomato flavor still shines through. They overdo it sometimes with the cheese, but it’s always fresh and thus never overly oily. Also the staff both behind the counter and the waitresses arr all extremely nice in an old school Brooklyn sort of way. If you’re in this area, your options for pizza are Frank’s and Original(I don’t care for Lenny & John’s as much). You can’t go wrong with either, but nowadays I think Frank’s has held up better.
