Heard about this place at hotel. Pulled in and didn’t think much of appearance. Although the salad was average, the prime rib was awesome. Cooked perfectly and not too expensive. Love finding these dives. Great experience and will go back.

Jesse’s was one of the first restaurants I visited after moving to this area over 20 years ago. At the time smoking was still allowed in certain sections and the people I was with did smoke. The place reminded me of the old Ohio bar/restaurants I used to go to with my grandparent who were smokers and drinkers. It brought back fond memories. But back go Jesse’s… This is always my first pick for steak in Brandon. I also love the Jesse special. The salad and bread are always fresh and the bartender does not skimp on the alcohol. We always went during early bird– happy hour — to take advantage of the specials. I highly recommend this Brandon landmark. Oh. By the way. No more smoking in the restaurant which is fine for me and I know everyone else is happy too — except maybe those people drinking at the small bar… Long live Jesse’s. Much better than any chain restaurant.

Had to be first through the door when they opened. I wanted to take my son for lunch and they didn’t open till noon. I had onion soup which had a great flavor and the cheese was melted and gooey with crispy top. Yummy! I also ordered the Rueben but it was so big I had to take it home. It might have something to do with consuming the onion soup and most of the freshly baked bread. My son had the small luncheon prime rib which comes with 2 sides. He had Caesar salad and broccoli which he said all was very good. Only drawback was the room we sat in was so cold it was hard to enjoy a very good meal because I was actually shivering most of my meal. Don’t let that stop you from going as the food was great but just bring a sweater.

I had the Seared Tuna and my husband had the Mahi. The fish was absolutely delicious! Cooked perfectly. Kudos to the cook! Our server Joshua was the best! We will definitely be back. Excellent service.

The lunch special prime rib is the best steak i have enjoyed. The wait staff are attentive and friendly. My son drinks a lot of tea, never has had an empty glass. By the way the crab bisque is a must try. Fresh crab soup in the bread bowl is a meal in itself. You just go wrong here. I love the atmosphere is warm and quaint. Parking can get tricky so i park in the back more spaces.

They resolved all the issues with my order. I now pick up food there every other week and prices and quality have been good. Thank You Very Much! The online menus are not accurate, so clarify if ordering to-go. EXCELLENTPRIMERIB!

Don’t let the cover fool you, it’s what inside that counts. One of the best meals I have had in a while. I travel a lot and sometimes think it has to be expensive to be good. Not the case with Jesses steak house. The French onion soup was really good! The medium rare prime rib was very tender and flavorful! The half pound of snow crab was large sized and steamed perfectly. The salad was just so-so. But I did not go to jesses to eat a Salad. Our server was very prompt and courteous. The next time I am in the area on business I will be back to Jesses for dinner.

First time dining at Jesse’s. This is a gem in the heart of Brandon. Easter Sunday, no wait had the prime rib was delicious melt in your mouth. My wife had the blackened mahi mahi. Generous portion, cooked perfectly. Our server Chelsea was fantastic! Very attentive & friendly. This was our best experience dining out in Brandon the last ten years. We will be back!

Jesse’s is a venerable choice for lunch, dinner or just happy hour. They have been around as long as I can remember as a stalwart in Brandon on Hwy 60. They have a signature dish call the Jesse Special which is their take on a burger without the bun, flame broiler, very tasty. They have a variety of items on their menu from fish n chips to blackened salmon to meatloaf. Their soups are homemade and very popular as well. They also do a mean prime rib if you’re a fan.

I ordered the Oscar. It was horrible. Sent it back for a burger. Not so great. Sangria was good and our server was excellent. My husband had shrimp and fries. Not worth $ 20. Won’t be retuning.

After reading the reviews, i just had to try it the Prime Rib myself. And it didnt disappoint. We went here on a Sunday for lunch, good thing we got there before it opened because the people came by the minute and the place was packed immediately. The place per se is like an irish pub, a little dark inside with dark wood furniture. We ordered the French Onion Soup, God it was amazing, from the broth to the melted cheese and the presentation. A must try. Got the buffalo shrimp as appetizers and it was the bomb, not too hot/spicy, just right. My husband got a burger, perfectly cooked just the way he liked it and the fries that came it with was the crispiest I had. It was delish, wish i ordered a separate one for myself haha I got the Sundays Best– Queen cut Prime Rib, its like 1.5in thick and the cut is good for 2! I wonder how big the King cut is. The taste and tenderness didnt disappoint! The only thing im giving this a 4 is because i ordered a medium but it came some-parts medium well to well done. The entrée comes with 2 sides– got a salad and a mashed potato. We didnt finish everything haha took it home and had it for dinner! Whew, the food coma and guilt were worth it! Will come back again!

Went to Jesse’s and meet the sweetest hostess Jesenia. She was very professional made us feel comfortable. The food was excellent their burgers are to die for. It’s a cozy place to go. It is a bit pricey but with it.

Went to Jesse’s for first time today. We’ve driven by 1000 times but it always looked crowded and the path of least resistance has always led us to Outback. Well I’m glad we took a chance because this is a Brandon treasure. It’s been so long since I’ve been out and had drinks mixed right. Vodka martinis, Bahama Mamas and Bourbon and cokes all top notch. We all 3 got the Queens cut prime rib. It was great! Excellent waitress who explained menu. We really like the laid back atmosphere too… will definately be back.

Tasty meal and awesome service. Came in for dinner on a Sunday night with my friends, and we were all served promptly. I had a steak with bleu cheese melted on it, and it was delicious! Wish I had enough room for dessert. Maybe next time!

Ok, so I went through several Unilocal reviews on Jesse’s before just taking the plunge and experiencing it myself. I had zero expectations because it seemed– based on the comments I read– this place is either a hit or miss. When we arrived the parking lot was full. My hubby dropped me off at the front so I could put our name on the list. The inside was packed and there wasn’t a big waiting area. She said if we sat outside they would come and get us when our name was up. Unfortunately it began to rain so we made our way to the bar and found two chairs to sit at while we waited for our turn. It only took approximately 15 minutes before our table was ready. We were seated at a Window in the back corner. The rumors are true. This place is not fancy by any means. The décor is simple, plain and probably hasn’t been touched in decades. The prices were a tad high but Jesse’s allows people to share for a small fee of $ 2.00. So we split the 16 oz New York Strip for $ 24.00. This included bread, a baked potato, and a side salad. I also ordered an additional side of(4) grilled shrimp Greek style for $ 7. Jeremy was our waiter and he was so friendly and observant. He made sure we were taken care of while we waited for our order. The food was served fairly quickly and as requested. I must say many steakhouses mess up and serve the steak either too well done or still«mooing» but the chefs at Jesse’s grilled our steak to Medium perfection. Now onto the downside… The steak was underwhelming in the flavor department. I kept trying to add butter and pepper to it hoping it would satisfy my pallet, but to my disappointment it did nothing. I can only imagine if I had ordered a top dollar filet mignon for myself and it tasted as bland. The shrimps on the other hand were pretty tasty and the seasoning almost reminded me of a Ramon packet. Not necessarily a bad thing… I’d probably order them again. The bottom line… Had we ordered our own individual meals, it would have cost us close to $ 60.00 when I feel the approximate value of the meal was closer to $ 40/$ 45.00 However, because we shared an entrée our check was under $ 40 so we left feeling satisfied. With this strategy, we will more than likely return in the future.

The food was good considering the location, however the wait time was over an hour. Four two adults and two children we spent over $ 100. I think it’s too much for this little restaurant.

You have to love Jesse’s. First — this place is not fancy. Imagine a mashup of an old bennigans and a hoolihans, with some really bad old pool hall light fixtures. Next, chances are good you’ll be the youngest diner there, so it’s good for the ego. Don’t order the escargot, seafood bisque, or other ‘fancy’ things. or the wine. They shouldn’t even try. BUT — order the prime rib, and you’ll be very very happy. It’s fantastic. And cheap. Don’t worry about the slightly brown uninspired salad. Just wait for the loaf of squishy bread, and the quivering slab of perfectly cooked prime rib and stuff yourself silly. We’ve never had bad service either — all of the waitstaff have been friendly and attentive. If you’re really feeling it, go before 6pm — early bird special baby! — and have the prime rib for 17 bucks.

I love old school restaurants. No frills, good food. This is Jesse’s. I’ve eaten nothing but their prime rib here, it’s our go to place for that. Queen cut is more than enough, perfectly cooked, lots of au jus with mushrooms and a backed potato. Yummy. Also comes with a dinner salad or cup of soup. I opted for the crab bisque. Rich creamy and a little bit of crab… but I loved it. And their homemade pineapple upside down cake… YUM ! Service is great, never a complaint about that here. This is definitely a throw back place. It’s dark, dingy, packed with locals, and ohhhhh, the stories this old place could tell. Love it!
