Went to have dinner and the place was basically a ghost town. Sat down and never heard from our waiter/waitress. The group next to us sat down and was served immediately. Decided to leave and had a wonderful dinner at a nearby restaurant.

This place has the vibe of a 90’s college bar for rich kids. They earn a 2.0GPA from me. Let me preface, that we like Lost Rhino beers and the original brewery location. But the Retreat really does not bring anything new to the party. Less beer and less atmosphere. Now the food. Wings were good, but slightly dry(over fried) and no blue cheese dressing. See guys. Blue cheese or ranch, not just ranch. We picked their Brewhouse salad with tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, red onions, and goat cheese with mixed greens and the New River Pale Ale vinaigrette. The tomatoes lacked any flavor and the vinaigrette was a weak disappointment. And there were maybe 4 tiny specs of goat cheese. We finished with the ribeye, which we ordered medium rare. It came out medium to medium well. It was flavor packed, but a tad dry. The side of mashed potatoes was nothing special. Very disappointing.

If you like the brewery, you’ll probably enjoy the restaurant. For me it was similar to dog fish head or Madfox tavern. Same, here’s our beers have some food as well kinda vibe. Over all the place was clean and the outdoor section was nicely decorated. One of the bartenders inspected my license like I was on trial. Not that I care, but. I’m guessing they have issues with underage drinking.(Just an assumption)

Service is ok at best and food is a little below average for a usual/good bar. I enjoy their beer however not much more than that. If you want to go for their beer I would suggest going to their original red rum dr location as parking is better. Wouldn’t recommend going for their(Lost Retreat) food or service, at all.

Great beer and adequate food but had a very rude and unprofessional experience with their young shift management.

So we went to Lost Rhino for lunch and we do not drink. We likely won’t be back. The carnitas was super, super dry. My husband said his Cuban sandwich was ok. The chili was good. The heat was nice, but it was a little bitter. They are not familiar with their own allergen information, which made things difficult for my daughter who can’t have gluten. We ordered 4 sodas, loaded nachos, 2 carnitas, a bowl of chili, and a Cuban sandwich for a total of just over $ 69. The meal was meh. The service was pretty friendly.

Met a couple of friends here for happy hour after work. Work is so overrated, but that’s a different story altogether! I will state up front that I’m not a huge fan of custom brews, but camaraderie and friendship were priority over the venue today. I had the Pilsner brew since it’s closet to what I typically drink(Heineken, Stella, etc). We stuck around for a couple of 16 oz. brews and also ordered two plates of wings. One plate was traditional buffalo sauce and the other was jerk sauce. Eh, ok and I’ve definitely had better. The wings were a bit cold, but we ate them anyway. Food took a backseat as we were busily recounting all the good times from back in the day. =D On a high note, our server was very attentive and service was great. Our server checked in on us pretty frequently and didn’t mind splitting our check three ways. I realize how that can be a pain for servers when it’s busy. Inside it’s pretty spacious. A separate bar area in addition to a segregated dining room. Street parking is limited and there is a parking garage and lot located nearby. Perhaps, I might stop by again for either lunch or dinner.

Great Bavarian pretzel. Food is an upscale bar variety, but the ambiance and beer make this a fun place.

Went here last night with the family. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the ahi tuna tacos, the husband had the chili, & our son had the chicken tenders. We all cleared our plates! Brittany our server was excellent, & did a great job at making food & drink recommendations, as it was our first time there. After our meal we all went outside and sat at one of the fire pit tables together. We had such a great time! We’ll definitely be back!

Attended a farewelll lunch here for a coworker. The food was ok and the beers were great. I like the setup, we watched a bit of March Madness while we ate and drank. It’s clean and the staff was great. I have to warn you though, it’s a hump form civilization, but worth the ride. Follow the signs, parking is around back or on the side. If I have the time and gas I’ll definitely visit this spot again real soon… Oh and they make all of their own beers, added bonus!!! Geahhh!

We were a party of 4 that arrived at 10 pm on a Friday night. They close at 11 pm and we didn’t feel rushed at all. The two servers were friendly and attentive. The pretzel app was huge! Perfect for 4 people. We ordered it with the queso. My husband’s burger was good. They had a beer in from somewhere else that was really good. The zucchini panini was tasty. My friend ordered two with pico on the side — no cilantro. She got pico with cilantro(isn’t it always in pico?) and she was given extra cilantro on the side. No big deal. Two fire pits on the patio.

Loved the music, the ambiance and the beer(downstairs). The food? Not so much; I swear the kitchen is cursed, as no establishment in that location has ever had good food(remember Caliente… and the place before that was even less memorable?). Hoping it’s just start up issues and plan to try again, try the upstairs bar, and update this review accordingly.

I’m a big fan of Lost Rhino Beers, but the food here was terrible and the service was a «D» at best. Nachos — Chips were borderline stale, pork was dried out and the cheese was just o.k. Burger — Decent, but overcooked Pretzel — Huge, very good Overall, there weren’t many people in the place for the service to be so slow. Atmosphere is just mediocre. The patio is nice, but we’re entering the time of year where that’s not going to matter. I think I’ll still be going to the other side of the fountain(Blue Ridge) for my post-movie meals.

I’m a huge Lost Rhino fan and love the brewery and this restaurant is a nice addition to the Brambletown area! The location is right in the town center next to the movie theater and is a prime spot for dinner/happy hour/shenanigans. The menu had a full lineup of their fresh beers(we came for the Rhinofest marzen, highly recommended) and you are welcome to sample any or get some 4 oz flights at your choosing. You have everything from light to hoppy to dark as well as whatever is in season and what they are experimenting with. The food is just an extension from thier brewery appetizer menu from the brewery and they play it safe with sandwiches, burgers, salads, and meat entrees. But, what we were told were hot items were any of the tacos, so we opted for some fish tacos as well as their jerk wings and bowl of spiced nuts. The tacos were fresh, filling, and had a little kick to them, curious to see what the other ones tasted like. The wings were very meaty but had a little too much kick for my liking which caused me to keep chugging my beer instead of sip it, but I am a spice wuss so it was all good! The beers were delicious as ever! Next time I’d love to try some of their other entrees but you really can’t go wrong with their giant bavarian pretzel, quest IPA nachos, or charcuterie platter. I mainly came here to see what it was all about and I digged it, especially the atmosphere and location area, however, it is a little too far a drive from my house and I can forsee myself just sticking to the brewery, but if I am ever back in the area I will definitely swing on by!

Came here this past week to check out one of my favorite breweries new restaurant. The weather was perfect so we sat outside, which was nice and looked like it’d be even nice at night with the tiki torches lit. The inside was kind of model-home-ish. Large plain white walls with a couple posters here and there, but not much for atmosphere to me. If I go again It will defiantly be when I can sit outside. We started off with the pretzel and charcuterie platter, both of which Ive had at the brewery and love. We ordered a couple flights to sample the beer, and for our meals we got the Muscles and Ahi Tuna Tacos. I was very disappointed with the mussels, they were some of the smallest ones Ive ever had, and the majority of my shells were missing them. The chef put about a spoonful of garlic in each shell and another handful in the IPA broth, it was so overwhelming I smelt like garlic for days afterwards. The ahi tacos were good, but nothing to rave about. My service was ok, nothing to rave about either. Our waiter came took our order and gave us a check, didn’t get very personable or even tell us his name, but at least he was quick about serving us. Over All the place wasn’t to bad, but all of my favorite things(The beer, pretzel and charcuterie) can also be bought at the brewery, which has such a better atmosphere and isn’t as far as a drive. I think I will stick with the brewery.

After a couple of visits where I was less than impressed, Rhino Retreat has improved so I felt I needed to change my initial review. I’ve been back a few times and each time I’ve gotten either the whitefish tacos, or the ahi tuna tacos. Both are very good. The whitefish tacos used to be crazy spicy, which I loved, but they’ve dialed back the heat the last couple times which I’m guessing most people probably prefer. The french fries are pretty good too. They don’t get 4 stars for a couple reasons. Besides the fish tacos, the rest of the menu still doesn’t impress me. Also, because I always get beer I didn’t realize they don’t have a full bar until bringing someone who didn’t drink beer or wine and asked for a Cosmo. I felt kind of bad that she couldn’t get a drink. I hope Rhino continues to improve.

Brambleton has needed this spot for quite some time. This location sat empty for quite some time before Lost Rhino came into the Town Center. It is a beautiful location without door seating as well as indoor. Lost Rhino makes local micro-brew beers that is brewed at their other facility in Ashburn on Red Rum drive. So I still have not acquired the taste for beer… but I do like ciders. So I ordered a cider(one of their micro-brew as well) it wasn’t my cup of tea. It was a little too sweet and beer like for my taste. We did try a pretzel which was pretty yummy! I am looking forward to coming here again and trying out more things!

Came here during their grand opening — service was slow which is completely understandable food came out tasting great. Wife and I have been going to their other location for several years and we were super excited for this to open within walking distance. We have lived in Brambleton for several years and frequent the town center especially in the warmer months when we walk down with our dogs. Last week we thought why not try Lost Rhino’s patio for dinner with the dogs tonight and we were told we could not sit on the patio with them due to health code restrictions reasons in Loudoun county. This is not exactly a reason; basically they are too lazy to explore the law and sign a waiver — however they are happy to uphold a non-reason and will not allow us to eat on their patio with the dogs. Either way we were happy to walk next door to Blue Ridge Grill and drink/eat a great meal with our dogs on the patio — even being asked if our dogs would like a bowl for water! If the management of Lost Rhino needs some assistance please refer to this link Won’t be back unfortunately during the warm season which is sad, at least not as often as we would if they allowed our dogs outside with us.

I have to be mindful that they just opened this month. The food selection was not very large, but I hope to see it expand as they figure their stuff out. We had their nachos and mac n cheese for the kids. The inside of this place is very large. I was impressed with the décor. Since I have young kids, the bathrooms were visited. My son loved their black toilets. Anyway, service wasn’t too bad. It was slower than I had hoped but the place was packed. I think this is all part of the growing pains of opening a new location. We’re very excited to have a bar here in Brambleton. I love the location and loved the décor. I think the rest will follow. Oh, if you can, get a seat outside on the patio!

Second night they are officially open. Beers are great and food was good. Still working out service and getting refills and checks in a timely manner. Started with the pretzel app and it was good. The cheese was good but not that hot and a bit lumpy. I had the carnitas tacos which were not bad. Really liked the wings and highly recommend them. Seems like a spicy bbq. Overall very excited for this place and hope they succeed. This place is gigantic and has lots of potential!
