Always a crowd at the Bacchus Pub so I expected good food and service. Sub-par is what I would sum it up with. Their house wine is awful, have tried both the red and white, and let me warn you to skip it. The food is ok, but service is consistently slow and the wait staff less than friendly or accommodating. Guess they don’t need to be when there is usually a line out the door. Beer is your safe bet here, although their cocktails are strong and I have been known to get drunk from their mules. The appetizer list is not that great, only thing worth ordering are their fries and burgers. Wish I could find what everyone else loves about this place, really I do.

This is a review for owners to consider firing Laurel. Laurel is awful. I’m not sure what’s wrong with her attitude: — she wore a belly showing shirt that was distastefully unappealing — after 10 minutes, we were the only customers at the bar and she managed to totally insult us. We thought it was a sick sense of humor, then she doubled down on her insult before walking away. — she was actually laughing after insulting us… If it wasn’t her intention, then she would have apologized. Just a horrible experience after a long drive. Tried to unwind but this lady ruined the mood… So we left. She is an unhelpful and a bad bartender. Considering that I curate travel guide books … I’d say that I have a very fair opinion. But who knows, maybe people around here like the New York attitude. We certainly didn’t. 2 thumbs down.

Bacchus was great! My dad suggested we stop by and he said he’s been going there for years. It had a authentic old school irish pub feel to it which I absolutely love. I ordered the«Pub Club» which had a Strawberry Jalapeño jam on it that makes is making my mouth water as I write this. I will stop by Bacchus every time I come to Bozeman for the rest of my life. Food: 9 Service: 9 Atmosphere: 9

Being from Omaha, I have a soft spot for old, pub-y places. This was a small place with amazing burgers. Their menu was surprisingly creative. Surprising because I expected regular ol’ bar food but their flavors were surprising and delicious. Also, very filling! Their drinks didn’t stand out too much for me, just because they have pretty much everything — I don’t remember a signature drink that I tried or anything. Also, they have a handful of TVs which is good, especially if you’re visiting during March Madness time! :) Tasty dishes in a place that looks like it has a lot of history.

The food is delicious, however, the faces in the wood terrified me. They’ve stayed with me in my dreams. 3 well deserved stars

This is more a review on a specific dish than the restaurant. The restaurant itself is awesome. Never had anything bad before today. My gripe is the«fish taco». It’s not a taco. It’s not even reminiscent of a taco. It’s a piece of naan Brad, cole slaw and fish. The cole slaw gets the Brad soggy, so if you pick it up to eat it like a taco… it just called apart. If you eat it with a fork it turns into a big pile of mush. Just make it a regular, good, fish taco. Not hard

This has been a Bozeman favorite for years. But it’s a cold night and they advertise a fire and no fire and they advertise beer battered fresh cod filet fish and chips. But when you get the fish and chips they are poorly Cooke Sysco fish and chips. A long way from fresh! Booooo

Service was sincere but mediocre made up by the fabulous and perfectly done medium Montana beef Hippie burger and plentiful fries.

Excellent lunch here today. The French onion soup is s must have, topped with Swiss, the flavor hits all the right notes. The club has a unique strawberry jalapeño jam that adds a spice that is delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in Bozeman.

Get there early if you want a table. Dark, old pub atmosphere, not contrived it was genuine. Delicious heavy pub fare, solid cocktail expertise and a robust selection of beers.

The curry fries, just like everyone says, are amazing. The inside is LOUD — so grab a table outside if the weather is right. That’s right. The traffic noise of main street is quieter than the reverberating acoustics inside the Pub. Our group was happy with the food. Sandwiches and a burger. Beer selection was great. Would go(sit outside) again!

Great Happy Hour. $ 3.00 pints of fresh local brews. Being that it was our first day in Bozeman, the waitress was very helpful giving us dining tips for downtown. We’ll be back, for sure.

The service was incredibly slow. Even though the waitress apologized every time she came to the table, that doesn’t quite make up for it. Especially given it was the beginning of the Saturday lunch crowd and wasn’t too crowded when we arrived. The food was ultimately decent though. The fish and chips were nicely breaded with a fair amount of fish and included four decent sized pieces. We also had a spicy burger which was juicy and flavorful. If not for the poor service, this place would probably merit three stars.

Tried the falafel with french onion soup on the side for lunch. There were plenty of customers, but still had enough places to sit. I sat with a view towards a TV as I was there alone traveling for business. I liked the falafel a lot; it had tahini sauce on it. I grew up eating falafel, but the problem with a lot of places today, is they put tzatziki sauce on it instead of tahini, which I believe is the proper sauce. Tzatziki should go on gyros. I’m not sure if tahini is too bitter for most Americans and tzatziki is more familiar as a yogurt based sauce, or any other reason. Tahini is one of my favorite sauces and pretty simple to make so I don’t know why it’s not more prevalent. Bacchus Pub had a tahini sauce, it had some other seasoning added that I’m not used to, but it was still good. Though I could have had a little more sauce on mine. French onion soup was about as good as I’ve had except maybe at «real» french restaurants. Plenty of carmelized onion and cheese was perfectly broiled on top. I would love to come back here for the same lunch, but I can’t imagine a reason why I would be in Bozeman, MT again.

After two years, we had to go back to Bacchus Pub. They didn’t fail me. I had the fish and chips again and it was very good like last time. And again, I forgot the name of the dark beer I had last time and tried another dark beer. It was very good and refreshing. The service was excellent. We sat in the dark corner of the pub but we were never forgotten. Our server was always there for us. The Pub has become our favorite pub in Bozeman. It was crowded but that didn’t stop the great service. Worth coming back to for us.

Food might be acceptable if you’ve had 3 overpriced drinks beforehand. It’s a good looking pub and fine for drinking. There is a patio that’s open in the summer. However, the food isn’t good! I’ve been there several times to eat and it only disappoints. The service is fine until the place is about a third full. It falls off dramatically at that point. If you’re looking for pretty waitresses, you won’t be disappointed. Just don’t expect good service.

My friends love this place and have great experiences so I’m not sure why I’ve had such bad luck. I generally give a place 2 chances and I’ve give the Bacchus 3. Disappointed each time with the food and the service once. Management has been accommodating 2⁄3. The first time I went in we had a smartass waitress that served us Moscow mules in glass and insisted its the same thing as a copper mug(It’s not.) I don’t remember exactly what happened with our food the second time but I remember it sucking. The third time I ordered a burger medium rare with grilled jalapeños. It came out well-well done with raw jalapeños. If you eat jalapeños you know there is a huge difference between raw and cooked. I complained and the manager kindly explained to me they had a new guy on the line and asked if he could remake my burger. I’m not one for wasting food, so I told him no thank you and ate the rest of my food. He brought me a new burger anyways… Not knowing what to do with a second burger for dinner I stopped at the bar on my way home and gave it away. The atmosphere in here is pretty cool. If you’re a high nosing bozemanite lacking taste buds I think this might be the place for you. Or I just had a really unlucky 3 experiences.
