One of the regular places I eat at in Fanueil Hall before I head to TD Garden for games. Not bad cheese steak and fries. The owner is a nice guy. Food came out hot and never had an issue. Kinda pricey but for Fanueil Hall, it’s reasonable.

Before I start getting into the negatives, the price set this place out from the many food choices found at Faneuil Hall. The cheese was almost non existent. The steak was too dry for my liking. The fries were stale in taste. However the service was excellent and the food came out hot. Nothing much more to say…

Stopped here recently on a quick visit to Boston, and got a Philly Cheese Steak and fries combo(with 20 oz bottled soda) for $ 9.99. The meat was cooked from raw when I ordered, and the sandwich came out pretty good. Fries were okay. The gentleman taking my order was pleasant and made friendly conversation while I was waiting. No complaints here. I’ll be back.

Went to Faneuil hall to grab some lunch with a friend during my day in Boston and decided to check this place out. When we first got there, it took a little bit of time to be helped since there was only one person working the stand, but once he got our order, it didn’t take too long. I believe we had the owner making our food and he was very friendly and even a little bit of a comic which was entertaining to say the least. We ordered one of the large philly cheesesteaks with peppers and onions. The sandwich was really tasty and quite a large size for the price. It went really well with the cheese and peppers and was definitely satisfied our cheesesteak craving. Overall, friendly service, good food, and cheap prices make this place a great spot to hit in Faneuil hall.

Philadelphia Steak and Hoagie has been one of my go to eateries in Boston for over ten years. You can always count on a tasty and freshly prepared cheesesteak. For me their fresh French bread style rolls are what make the sandwiches so good. Recently I had the Philly steak and my girlfriend tried the Philly chicken, we were both extremely pleased. Anyone looking for something consistently tasty in Fanieul Hall give this place a try.

Got a cheesesteak with onions, peppers, and mushrooms. I’m not sure what kind of cheese they used, but I think it was American. It’s not the most authentic cheesesteak you’ll ever have, nor is it probably the cheapest cheesesteak you’ll ever have. But it tasted pretty good. So you could probably do worse.

This is less of a review to inform tourists to Faneuil Hall, who won’t know the difference; but rather a forewarning to Allston residents of 20 years ago who remember the original Philadelphia Steak and Hoagie on Comm Ave… DON’T EATHERE. I lived around the corner from the original & frequently enjoyed both the chicken & steak sandwiches. The seasoned steak had practically no fat, and the chicken was cut small & had a distinctive delicious sort of teppanyaki flavor to it. The rolls were always fresh baked, and service was decent. Fast forward 20 years. I ordered a small chicken, provolone and pepper sub; the guy grabs a large roll, brings it over to the grill & starts cooking. When I pay the cashier, he says, «Large?» to which I respond, «no– small chicken, cheese and provolone». He yells something to the cook, who slams a small roll down, and throws American cheese into it. I inform the cashier–«provolone and peppers»; to which he yells something else to the cook, who swaps the cheese– at this point I’m just making sure the food is within my line of sight, if you know what I mean. So I get my sandwich(without the peppers of course) and am on my way. The Good: The rolls are still tasty the way I remember them, and the prices are actually pretty close to what they were in 1991, which would lead one to believe the value is good. The Bad: Very poor service, and the chicken was surprisingly bland and unremarkable(to be fair, Boston has had a trans fat ban in place for a couple of years now, so maybe that made the difference, I don’t know). The Ugly: The sad reality that PS& H now exists only in my memory, and not in Faneuil Hall.

Had the breakfast. Edible but unenjoyable. Cooked fine but no condiments for the toast. The bacon is a low end turkey bacon. Cheap but there must be better somewhere else in the hall.

You know how sometimes when you’re looking thru a pile of old clothes that you haven’t worn in a long time, and you find that«one» shirt that still looks great on you? Well among all the tourist«restaurants» at the Quincy Market, most of which are bad, like cafeteria bad, yack… I found that this place actually has some great eats. The Philly cheesesteak here is excellent, they use good rolls and the meat is cooked to order, with or without onions, with american, provolone or like in philly… CHEESEWHIZ!!! haha, not many places sell their cheesesteaks with cheesewhiz, which makes me wonder why they even call it a cheesesteak if they put all those peppers and other cheeses on their? that’s not a philly cheesesteak! Try it out, good stuff

It’s always a tough decision when walking the long, tempting food court of Faneuil Hall. Just when you think that you’ve made up your mind(ooh, Thai — wait, Indian — Cheesesteaks!), you pass another luring food merchant. I grabbed a late dinner at Philadelphia Steak & Hoagie; my sandwich and fries were made fresh by a friendly, attentive man who worked quickly and expertly on my meal. They had two specials at that hour: $ 8.99 for a regular cheesesteak with fries and a bottle of soda or a large sandwich combo for a dollar more. While $ 10 is on the more expensive side, it is located within a gigantic tourist trap — plus, it stirred up some nostalgia in me when eating here, so I didn’t mind treating myself. The quality was good and I appreciated the readily available condiments like hot sauce. I was glad that they took credit cards(including American Express) and that the soda was a more premium option(it’s rare that combos include a bottle over a fountain drink). In retrospect, I should have asked for my sandwich with cheez whiz, but the provolone worked well. The gentleman also can add vinegar to your fries upon request. Overall, a great meal in a venue of seemingly endless variety. I’d definitely go back.

This may be one of the simplest sub shops you’ll ever go to, but definitely not a bad one. If you crave a steak or chicken sub, then this is your place, but otherwise don’t bother stopping by unless you’re looking for breakfast. The interesting thing about this place, and why I frequently grab breakfast here, is the value, which is mostly absent from Faneuil Hall. Where else can you get 3 eggs, homefries and toast for $ 2.99? I mean that’s gotta be the cheapest breakfast around. Service is always friendly in the morning with a smile. For subs they cater only to the chicken or steak crowd with better than average bread, but merely average-sized subs. The meat quality is good though on the steak subs, and it is certainly better than the overly adored Al’s nearby. Overall, it’s a 3.5 star place with excellent value during breakfast and good, though not huge, steak subs. Give it a try, because you could do much worse in Faneuil Hall.
