I had the rice bowl on kung pao with beef last night. It was the best I’ve ever eat. The sauce in the dish is yumy and full of flavour. We’re group of 5 and we all enjoied the food and the service. Highly recommended. I think its busier during the day

I often walk in, order take-out from this place, and walk out 10 min later with my food, which I love. It does feel a tad too expensive for what I get, but I can’t be entirely sure; Symphony Sushi might be slightly cheaper and better quality. The food is fine and would merit two stars; I added one star for how prompt the service is.

my family and I really enjoyed ginger exchange as a great meal before a show at symphony, and it is great to be in walking distance. the pork belly bao bao’s were as good as I hoped, light dough with the savory meat inside. the thai spring rolls also hit the spot. I ordered the korean beef for my entrée and would definitely get it again if there weren’t so many other things to try. the fried rice is flavorful and not greasy. our favorite dish was the Singapore rice noodles, although we did think they would be a little more spicy. my dad also thought the pad thai was great, and the sushi seemed like it was fresh and well made.

Excellent service!!! Had lettuce wraps in iceberg, not quite right. The filling is good but needed a sauce, and better lettuce. 10 of us here quick service filled up quick before BSO

I have never had bad sushi here. The rolls are all made well, and the ngiri is always fresh. However, their average drink menu is made with little alcohol, so you’re better off drinking a glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage.

A good spot to go if you are going to a show at the Huntington Theatre as it is right next door. It gets super busy tho. The food is good, however we found the kitchen was a bit overwhelmed with the theatre crowd, as our last order came out slow, and well after our other plate orders, and after we had asked for our bill when we were ready to leave. Our server was very apologetic and sweet which helped. The Bao Baos are a must order.

I went to the restaurant with my 2 other friends for lunch. We ordered a Symphony Pad Thai with shrimp, and 3 rolls combospicy tuna, spicy salmon, and eel avocado. When we got Symphony Pad Thai, I mixed noodle and sauce with chopsticks, squeezed lime, but found out that it came with chicken, not Shrimp. So I told the server named Peach that I ordered a shrimp pad thai, and she asked if I «already mixed the noodle». Honestly, what kind of question is that? «Did you already mix your noodle?» Oh wait, if I hadn’t mixed it, the dish could be recyclable? The server, Peach, brought us a new dish with shrimp, but she didn’t even look at us and almost threw the plate on the table. Another issue was raised when we got 3 rolls combo. We ordered spicy salmon but we got regular salmon roll, and it was only half-way filled. My overall experience with this restaurant was very unpleasant and I won’t return to this restaurant at all.

I’m giving four stars solely because of the wings. The Thai BBQ wings were probably the best wings I’ve EVER had. They were sweet and savory, juicy, tender and delightful. We also had Pad Thai, and that was okay — but the wings man, the wings. So good. So so good. I can’t even come up with better words because they left me dumbfounded.

I’ve been here a few times with my best friend for lunch. Also haven’t been to this place in ages and last Friday when I’d checked in — it said it’d been two years since my last visit. I forget why I don’t go here as much. I went here w/my GF for the first time since she’d never been. We’re vegetarian. Got Edamame, avocado + cucumber rolls. Spring rolls… a couple of beers. Had a great time. The service is a bit slow and the bartender seemed more interested in talking to his friends than paying attention. But besides that, I’ve never had any complains. I don’t eat meat so I can’t judge all the dishes but the limited amount they have for vegetarians if fab!

This is the best place to go for innovative and flavorful rolls which fits the america palette. Symphony sushi, its neighboring competitor is better when it comes to sashimi and nigiri but no one can beat ginger when it comes to rolls. My other favorites are the bibimbap and the appetizers which are really delicious! They also serve beer with blueberries in them which is a fun and exciting choice! Overall, i also love the service!

Unilocal removed my photo of my dog eating the gross food they sent to my house. Hey Ginger Exchange instead of wasting your time reporting my photo how about refunding my money to my credit card or simply apologizing? Nah that’s not passive aggressive enough for you maybe.

I’ve eaten here very many times and hate to give it one star this time. I had it a few days ago and actually got food poising from It yesterday. I order the«double roll»(sushi/avocado) I usually order their Pad Thai with veggies or drunken noodle with tofu, but decided to switch it up. Wish I didn’t because it has not been a fun 2 days. Other than that I’ve had good experiences.

Went here with my mom and sister after a late night of classes. I wasn’t really packed and most people were sitting near the bar. We ordered 2 different ramens and 1 beef bibimbap. The flavor profile wasnt there and it wasn’t as good as i would have hoped. The appetizers we got(wings, and dumplings), however, were extremely delightful and we actually ordered more since the coconut curry ramens werent as good as we had liked. Honestly, im going to give this place another shot to redeem itself since I feel like i didnt order enough different items to expand the profile.

Really delicious! The sushi was great, the service was good, and the location is great if you are going to symphony hall or the Huntington theater. My group of friends ordered a wide array of stuff and everyone loved their food. They also have some affordable drinks. It got really buys around 7 so I suggest making a reservation! Parking is also tough in the area, there is a lot around the corner but it is a little pricey.

It doesn’t claim to be authentic Asian, which is good, because it isn’t. It is, however, a decent fusion of Asian foods– that is, the menu has everything from pad thai to sushi. I tried one of the sushi rolls here, and to my surprise, it was one of the best sushi I’ve had in Boston(though to be honest, I’ve had pretty bad experiences with sushi in Boston). If you’re craving any type of Asian food for a decent price and aren’t looking for a super authentic meal, this is the place to go. You’re guaranteed good food– nothing special, but it’ll be a decent meal at the least.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try this place because it was new in the area. We got the double spicy tuna roll to start, he got the Korean beef entrée, and I wasn’t that hungry so I got thai spring rolls. The double spicy tuna roll was really good. Great amounts of tuna on top and inside the roll also. His korean dish was actually really flavorful and a great size. It came with brown rice and sautéed vegetables. As a Korean, I definitely approved of his choice. The Thai spring roll appetizer was complete shit. It came in two, but Thai spring rolls usually means fresh vegetables in a freshly fried roll or even rice paper roll. It literally tasted like something you could get from the supermarket and heat up in the microwave. It was disgusting. Besides that, everyone was very friendly from our server, hostess, and manager. I don’t know if I’d be back, but they offer all different Asian options besides just Japanese food. They had Korean, Thai, and Chinese options. It’s probably worth it to try a little bit of everything if you come here.

Like my first bite of candied bacon, I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit to Ginger Exchange. I’d just finished a performance nearby when the family decided to give the place a try. Being a Los Angeleno, I have unusually difficult(not necessarily high, but difficult) standards when it comes to Asian fusion restaurants. In fact, I have similar standards when it comes to dating. 1. She has to be alive. A. Fusion restaurant has to have some kind of live ambiance. 2. She has to dress well, and show minimal dandruff. B. Food dishes must have presentation. Looks MUST sell. 3. She can’t be high maintenance, and NO I will not take her shopping on a first date. C. Value for money is a must! 4. She has to have good personal hygiene. D. Bathrooms must be clean(I compare bathroom cleanliness to kitchen cleanliness). 5. She has to be a good kisser, and not have food particles floating around her mouth. E. The food must taste good. Happy to say that Ginger Exchange met most of my standards, and more importantly, impressed the shit out of my über picky mother. The sushi tower is not a new concept by any means, but their choice of ingredients and generous dose of sauces and roe/caviar was just right(a tad much on the rice, but I’m not complaining). And added benefit: they use Atlantic Tuna. The crab rangoon, standard, so acceptable. This is akin to a date having all her teeth. Pass. The Green Monster sushi roll, with shrimp tempura, unagi, eel sauce, and I think avocado(usually called«monster» roll in other places) was up to par. Very decent. Miso Salmon. Surprisingly good. I think the garnish could have been better, but honestly, they did this very, very well. Bibimbap. I wouldn’t call this authentic Korean style the way they use their beef, but it was still a good dish. I can see why it’s so popular. Mee Goreng… ok. Being part Southeast Asian, and having lived in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore for several years, is the only dish that fell short of expectations. It tasted more like a sweetened spaghetti bolognese, which in and of itself wasn’t bad, but not for what I wanted it to be. This was likely the only ‘ding’ on the menu for me, akin to a date that has poorly manicured toenails… that maybe stink a little… but otherwise has pretty feet. Overall, including the excellent, excellent service from our server Jarvis, I easily give it 4-stars, and am happy to come back again.

I visited here for lunch on a Monday afternoon. When i asked for a table for one, the staff seemed unclear on the concept of how to seat a single person at a table. After two people finally managed to do that, there was a LONG, long long wait for waiter to take order. Once he did appear, he was apologetic for the wait, and afterwards quite efficient. I had a rice bowl lunch special of teriyaki steak(steak, some veggies and white rice) with came with a a choice of several sides; I chose miso soup, which was unexceptional. I also ordered a salmon and avocado roll, which was perfectly fine. The food was decent, not spectacular, and for a first visit, the long wait was a turn off. I’m willing to give it another chance for sure, but there are many other options for this same food in the area, so you really have to be more on your game with service. On the plus side, pushing it toward, but not quite to 4 stars is the nice, clean, modern interior, and(gasp!) nice wooden chopsticks that don’t come in a paper sleeve!

Went this past Saturday night to the Symphony location with b. for a late dinner after a long day of working and studying. Drinks: Sapporo(slightly more bitter), Kirin(more floral) Appetizer: Tartar Too with tuna sashimi in ponzu-chili oil, avocado, seaweed salad, and tobiko — Ehh. Nothing special. For the price, I would say not worth it. Dinner: b. got the Symphony Noodle Soup with tom yum broth, phở noodles, and shrimp — it was very underwhelming and only had a few small shrimps in there. I was much happier with my Miso Salmon(seared salmon with miso-glaze and seared baby bok choy), which was a decent portion. The salmon was a bit overcooked but I liked the miso glaze and the fresh bok choy. Dessert: We wanted to try most of the desserts but settled on the Molten Chocolate Cake with green tea ice cream because — Hello? It’s Molten Chocolate Cake. Like Duh. The cake was nice and moist with a warm, ooey gooey center. It also came with a good portion of ice cream, which was great since we usually complain about there not being enough ice cream to pair with the richness of the cake. Service was prompt and friendly. Place wasn’t too crowded. Cool lava lamp display thingie. All in all, I wouldn’t make it a point to come back here but if I was in the area, why not?

Great concept, and great food. Staff could use a little work, but our waitress was sweet enough and she really tried so we give her an A for effort. Ingrid maybe was her name? There was a sweet Thai lady names Barbie that was a gem too. She moves fast! The asian lady at the front was very quick to greet us when we arrived, that is key. We joined and had dinner there since we heard from a friend about the new opening. The food really was great, and they had open windows that would be great for nice summer nights. The restaurant though is ill equipped in regards to A/C as we purposely chose a booth in the back to see if it was cooler, and it was not. We were hot all through dinner, and you can tell the staff was too. I suggest they may not want to open the windows if the A/C cannot keep up with the weather, but then again they would lose a highlight of the restaurant décor and setup, they are better off trying to get a stronger unit to power the place. A huge no-no that I really have NEVER seen a place do is put evaporated or reg milk in a Thai ice tea or Vietnamese coffee?! I am unsure what origin the owner is, but every person who has had these drinks will tell you that the condense milk is truly what makes the drink. It’s simply an ingredient that CANNOT be substituted for anything else. The drink only has two things to it, and should be «86“ed» if you think you can replace it with anything but condensed milk… even running out of it is not really an excuse as the ingredient is common and can be bought anywhere. We may return again, but the street parking is understandable off putting unless you are a huge fan of a venue. I hope their business picks up from the NU students and Symphony patrons. Perhaps they might benefit with valet? We may be back to try the Bao Bao on second thought. Perhaps at the Cambridge location. A/C?
