So disgusted by service that I am writing my first Unilocal review(Pretty funny that I see someone else did this exact thing). Sushi is decent. Kind of expensive but good. Delivery service — TERRIBLE. I’ve ordered delivery before and it took like 2 hours which whatever… but… This time… Driver called my phone twice then must have left? Dude. DELIVERY… you come to my door and knock — I answer. Not I’ll call so they have to come out in the cold to get food. Well I called him back no answer. I call the restaurant and tell them I have not received my food(90 minutes and counting). They call the driver and say its coming. Another 30 minutes. I call back same thing. Now after 3 hours I call and am told the driver said he delivered it to me. That’s news to me. He said he delivered it to a woman. Nope just me at the apartment. The guy on the phone is shocked I would ask for my money back«the driver said he delivered it to you» like I am trying to pull a fast one on them. I’m Sorry your drivers lazy. Sorry he delivered it to the wrong person. They did refund me. I’m ordering from Ginger Exchange Symphony and will probably receive it 5 minutes after I submit.

Great sushi. A bit over priced but definitely the best for that area

I heard this restaurant has a delivery service so I called to order the two popular items suggested from Unilocal,Mexican Roll and Ocean Maki. It took them about 30min tops, which wasn’t so bad in my opinion, but I found the total a bit too pricey — $ 28 + tip. As far as the taste goes, the Ocean Maki was pretty good and the Mexican Roll was whatever. I’m not sure if I’d order from here again. Maybe it’s different if I had eaten it at the restaurant rather than have it delivered.

After living in Boston for half a decade, I can safely say that this is one of the best sushi restaurants in the city. Any of the special rolls are worth trying… twice.

I am so disgusted by the terrible service that I received today that I just HAD to write a review on Unilocal(which I’ve never done before). The sushi is decent and dining inside is nice despite the lack of lighting(which makes it kind of difficult to read the menu). However, I mostly order take out from Symphony Sushi and this is when the main problem arises: 1) By the time the food gets to me it’s always cold due to slow delivery. 2) I’ve frequently received the wrong order. 3) The delivery drivers are EXTREMELY rude. For instance, today I placed an order for delivery. The driver called me 5 million times before I could even get downstairs(even though it literally only took me 3 minutes to get to the door). As soon as I opened the door he immediately shoved the receipt in my face to tell me that I hadn’t paid for the order(even though I did pre-pay with my card). After explaining this to him he snatched the receipt out of my hand and then demanded that I tip him. I actually was planning on tipping him, but after I explained to him that his customer service skills were horrible. He then proceeded to act like a deranged monkey and shouted, ‘If you don’t want to tip then don’t order from here!’ Well, that was great advice because I won’t be ordering from this horrible restaurant again. I actually called to speak with a manager about their delivery driver’s behavior, but I was told that the manager wasn’t ‘available’ by an apathetic employee who answered the phone. Such an annoying experience.

Symphony Sushi is the best Japanese restaurant I have ever had in Boston, love their bento, udon, etc.

I basically lived on this sushi for the 10 years I was a Boston resident(just moved to SF). Boston has a pretty lame sushi scene and this is one of its few gems. Relatively inexpensive, but consistently good sushi every time. I would get their sushi to go a lot and I never thought its quality was compromised. Hawaiian roll is a fav!

Very typical Americanized Japanese restaurant. Their bento lunch box is fulfilling and satisfying for its price. Same goes for the noodle soups. The bowls are deeper than you think. I ordered tempura noodle soup with ramen noodles this time, and their broth was very«soothing». It wasn’t salty at all which I expected to be the complete opposite as majority of Japanese ramen are salty. But the fact that the broth has so much flavors without being too msg-like, I very much enjoyed it. We also ordered fresh spring rolls, which I didn’t like the sauce it came with. Too ketchup-y. The other days I have been here, I ordered all different menu, and none comes into mind that was bad nor extraordinarily good. One reason that I am giving a 3-star is because of the waitress we had yesterday. She really rushed us into ordering and paying the check. We told her to give us a few, but she still came by every thirty seconds. Also, despite the fact that the place was empty(we went in an awkward dinner time), she dropped off the check before we finished eating. That threw me off a little. That didn’t happen other times I went, so it was just her.

Usually the place I go with to get either: Chicken/Pork Katsu Bento during lunch OR the salmon combo. Always good and yummyyyyy. Haven’t really tried other items but it’s consistently good. Their miso soup is a little sub-par, but hey it comes free with the meal so.

My boyfriend and I have been here on a couple occasions, it’s pretty good and they actually have a wide range of roll choices. So if you want to experiment with some interesting options you should definitely check this place out. They can get kind of busy sometimes, but I’ve never had to wait very long. The servers will stay out of your hair, something I like since I’d rather just eat and talk to the person I’m with, as opposed to having to answer the«How is everything?» question a million times. We usually get the maki lunch option, but we’ve tested out a couple of their signature rolls too. The only two that I can distinctly remember are the eastern maki and the cowboy maki. The eastern maki is a tuna and salmon roll with rice nori instead of the traditional seaweed, it’s yummy, but a little one noted. Needs some hefty amounts of wasabi to liven it up. The cowboy maki is an asparagus tempura roll covered with avocado and steak and lots of sauce, sounds good in theory, but the taste is pretty disappointing. I can give them points for being inventive, but this particular roll was really chewy, due to the steak, and just not a good mesh of flavors in my opinion.

Decent sushi here. The place looks quite nice, which scared me because I was worried that would mean it would be expensive. Their lunch and house specials are very reasonable in price. So I probably wouldn’t come here for anything other than those. I don’t know, honestly, there isn’t really anything remarkable or unremarkable here, so I’m just gonna go…

This review will include a dining experience review and a delivery review. Dining Experience: I’ve dined here on several occasions. The seating is a little tight, but the seats are made out of(bamboo/wood) and give you a very«asian» dining vibe while you eat. The restaurant specializes in both Chinese and Japanese cuisine. I’ve had the sushi(Sushi specials, unagi-don, and individual orders of sushi like mackeral/uni/unagi/ikura. Sushi is very fresh. However, I stopped ordering the spicy tuna rolls from this location because they drown them in scallions(not my favorite). On the chinese food side, I’ve been disappointed several times. For one, the general gau’s chicken is too think in a orange sauce that kills any other tastes from the chicken. The sesame chicken tastes like it is drowned in this same sauce. The noodles that come with the Teriyaki Lunch are nicely mixed with a sauce. I’d recommend ordering the sushi from this restaurant, particularly the nigiri(single pieces) or rolls that are not spicy.

Symphony Sushi is quite famous, so I went there to have a try with a friend. That place is small but warm, Japanese style. I ordered Caterpillar Scroll and my friend’s choice is a kind of ramen. Both of them were quite yummy.

I recently went in the last month for the first time and I honestly did not enjoy the food. I basically forced myself down to finish it. The server was pretty friendly but she messed up a lot, which is understandable since all the tables were filled up. The sushi. Uh not so great and I don’t know what I was thinking ordering a katsu dish here but I guess I just wanted to try it at a different place. The result of the pork katsu was horrifying and the rice that came with it was dry as heck. I also wasn’t a big fan of the low tables with higher chairs. It was awkward. I wouldn’t come back here again.

To be honest I was not impressed by this place. It’s cramped and dark. The miso soup was mediocre, the fresh rolls were made with imitation seafood that was overly salty. My vegetarian sushi was just okay, but the California rolls all tasted like wasabi and I almost gagged. I didn’t finish them at all. Out waitress was relatively absent which was weird. Really not impressed.

Went out with a few friends for a Sunday night dinner. I got the unaju bowl(unagi rice bowl) and a tuna nigiri. My friends got the salmon bowl and salmon combo. Both the tuna and salmon sashimi were really fresh and smooth. The unagi was cooked very well– not too chewy, very tender and not overly salted with teriyaki sauce. Both of my friends liked their meals. The rice bowls were really filling– I had to take home leftovers! The prices were pretty fair for what you get. My two items came out to $ 20 total and my friends’ dishes were $ 14 each. Overall: would recommend and would go again :)

Takoyaki was a mismatch of batter to octopus in that in each ball we only had one small bit of octopus and tons of batter which was like lava inside – too mushy/liquid. I had Idaho Maki at Finn(same owners I believe) a long time ago and it was a lot better because it was warm inside – this one was one. Fashion Maki was a bit too much of the same texture for me – too soft as the eel, avocado and cream cheese had similar textures. Crazy Maki was great and crispy though. I wanted more Shrimp tempura! The Maine Lobster Roll was difficult to eat, and when we both tried a piece felt like we had a cold piece of tuna in half our mouths, and warm lobster covered in spicy mayo in the other half. It was hard to mix it. There was also a bit too much mayo… and I never thought I would say that. Service was great and very attentive. I’d go again, because everything was very fresh, but I’d get different things.

Best affordable sushi you can find around this area. What we ordered: Duck tata — DON’T EVERORDERTHIS. It was sooo weird. It was chewy almost like it was cartilage or something. Ew. Edamame — a little too much salt for me. Seaweed salad — Refreshing on a hot, summer day. Snow mountain maki(+) Rainbow maki(+) 2 Spicy tuna maki 2 Scorpion maki Was this for a group? No just for two people. My boyfriend and I definitely could not finish this and it was way too much food. Why did he feel the need to order two of the spicy tuna and scorpion makis? We rolled out of the restaurant. None of the rolls we had were SPECTACULAR, but I would definitely recommend the snow mountain and the rainbow maki. The servers were very nice and always refilled our waters once they got half empty. If you need a quick fix to satisfy your sushi craving, this is the place you should go.

I came here for lunch with a friend on President’s day, and it was full but not crowded. Always a good sign! I got the sea bass bento and my friend got the chicken katsu bento, which were both good. It comes with a bunch of fruit, two pieces of california roll, salad, miso soup, and rice. For $ 8, I’d say that’s pretty good. Overall, the food quality was decent and the service was reasonable, as well. Pretty good deal for lunch. :)
