I do not expect to go to any type of eating establishment and see one of the employees walking around with his pants halfway down his butt and his underwear sticking out. It’s bad enough that that seems to be the current style of some teenage boys, but in a restaurant? Please! That’s just disgusting. I can’t believe a manager would let an employee get away with that.

Really good selection of bagels. I went on a Saturday morning so there was a line and it was a little crazy but I didn’t wait long and then got to place my order. I got a blueberry bagel toasted with butter and a pumpernickel bagel with bacon egg and cheese. I also ordered a coffee. They got my order ready quickly and I was out of there in about ten minutes. I took my stuff home and it was still hot and delicious by the time I got there. I don’t run into pumpernickel bagels much so that was exciting to see. The blueberry one was really good too. Definitely a good place for an inexpensive breakfast or brunch. Not gonna give you five star quality or anything but it hit the spot.

small alley. Dirty bathroom with no T paper and busted paper towel dispenser. I went to the napkin counter to dry my hands & even that was a mess. Three employees and only 1 wearing gloves and making nearly all the sandwiches. One handling cash without gloves wearing dirty pants and wet, worn and misshaped T shirt and waiting to make sandwiches. No nets, or hats and hair not nearly tied up or back. Staff on the border line of rude, certainly not interested in helping customers or their jobs. I was not asked if I was eating in or out, was not asked if I wanted a bag. A bagel as good as one from the grocery store served with not much cream cheese. Not as good as it could or should be. Won’t be returning.

I used to come here all the time when the servers and managers were polite, but now I try to go as little as possible. The assistant manager has been rude to me on more than once occasion and I can hear her yelling at staff in front of costumers. She makes me feel uncomfortable every single time I walk in there. I watched an employee drop fish in the lettuce bin and ignore to replace it which is a big concern. The bagels have gone down hill and I have almost nothing positive to say about the service. I am not speaking for evert Bruegger’s Bagels location, but I seriously think there could be a few improvements here.

Sunday morning, had a great selection of nice hot bagels, plenty of help so just a small wait in line.

We all know Boston doesn’t really have great bagel options(except for Bagelsaurus, but I live in JP so a trip to Cambridge is a bit of a hike for me), so as an NJ transplant who still yearns for good bagels after living here for 5 years, these are my go-to. They aren’t amazing but they’re fairly good — better than any of the other options in Boston that I’ve had(again, besides Bagelsaurus), they’re often piping hot out of the oven, and the service is fast and relatively friendly. It’s nice that they have a parking lot and it’s a quick drive from JP. I’ve been here many times alone and with a friend or two, and haven’t ever had problems with the food or the service. I don’t get breakfast sandwiches here, but according to my fiancé, they’re average — what you’d expect from a fast food-ish chain.

This used to be my go-to stop everyday for a coffee and bagel. Unfortunately, over the past year, the service at this location has gone drastically downhill. Ever since the past manager, Alex, left, the service is slow, new hires seem poorly trained, and it takes forever to get a cup of coffee! Priorities often seem skewed — employees are often cleaning the counter and restocking the cooler case when there are customers in line waiting for coffee or to be rung up and there is no one at the register. I am also frustrated when I go in for decaf iced coffee and there is none made — particularly in the afternoons. The store needs some solid leadership help ASAP!

When I heard about the negative reviews for the Bruegger’s on VFW I had to chime in. I have never had a bad experience in this place. Granted, my order is pretty basic, but I’m in & out most days. Yeah sure, sometimes there are lines, but that’s not the staff’s fault. They work as diligently as possible to put out a quality product, and while my order is simple, many are not. The quality of the bagels is fantastic! I am completely satisfied as we frequent this shop about twice a week. Frankly speaking, there are plenty of «diva’s» out there that are over the top with negative reviews. This should not be the case. One thing that I would like to see improved is the amount of cream cheese that is added to a cream cheese bagel order. That little scooper just doesn’t cut it. This is not a shop issue, but the way Bruegger’s does business. For the VFW shop and Rahul, I give 5STARS!

Having worked in Needham for years and getting used to the quality bagel sandwiches of Bagel’s Best, I can’t remember the last time I frequented a bagel chain like Bruegger’s. But my friend and I came by today and I was happily satisfied with our breakfast experience. Their French vanilla coffee was amazingly delicious, and my breakfast bagel sandwich was fresh and perfectly toasted. Everyone was friendly(staff and patrons) and they were constantly cleaning the tables to keep the place spotless.

Today’s experience cost Breugger’s a star and a customer: me. Just when you think service at this location can’t get any worse, enter the summer help: nonchalant, unknowledgeable, and bereft of any concept of customer service. I worked and appreciated having a summer job as a kid, but I pray to God that I didn’t come across as disaffected as today’s crew. I know apathy is in vogue, but really… Add to this that my supposed«smoked salmon cream cheese» was so white and had no flecks of anything, no less anything resembling fish bits, that I asked the counter person if she was sure it was salmon spread. BTW, the pallid appearance panned out. No flavor of salmon whatever in the spread. Guess I should be grateful that there was less than teaspoon of spread on the bagel after all. I am done with this place. Please let me know what you think of this review by clicking a button below. Thanks!

This place makes the best bagels I’ve had. Ok, sure, write me and tell me all of the places you know that are better, and that I will never go to, because they are some hole-in-the-wall place in the East Village. For the area, they make bagels that taste right.

Been there 3 times at 630 am and they had nothing ready they say they open at 6am. Maybe you stop trying to be like Starbucks and just make the bagels.

Hot, fresh and tasty bagels! I’ve had their egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches, and their bagels filled with their tasty cream cheeses. It’s worth the drive past many Dunkin’ Donuts in order to get decent bagels. Staff is friendly and helpful, even if a little harried when it gets busy on weekend mornings. Also glad they have fair trade and organic coffee options, but Green Mountain coffee is really not my favorite, so I usually brew it at home.

I should have known that coming here again would be a mistake but i’m at my best friends’ place so often and this is the closet fast-food breakfast place. I ordered my usual(Primo Pesto Chicken Panini). The service was a million times better. He didn’t seem like a newbie and seemed to know how to multi-task. While the paninis I ordered were in the grill, he asked if he could get me anything else like soup or a drink. Brownie points. Then he gave me a time update saying the paninis would be cooking for about 20 more seconds then it would be ready. Smooth sailing so far. Paid, and out the door in under 10 minutes. Awesome. I get home to eat the panini, there’s not pesto spread… i’m pretty sure pesto is part of the name of the panini. Not sure how he could have gotten that one wrong. He failed to put pesto in both mine and my friend’s panini. Please remind me why I paid $ 7 for bread, chicken, and cheese? I will bump it up a star though for having much better customer service this time around.

Good food, fast, and the best of all — the people who work here are genuinely really great. I’ve gone here a lot lately because of the location of my work, and even at crazy o’clock in the morning, everyone is cheery and helpful, smiling and really caring about giving the customers a good experience. Love!

I haven’t been to a Bruegger’s in a few years and missed what their bagels taste like. This location sits in a shopping center off VFW Parkway and is next store to JP Licks. The staff is quick on it’s feet and knows just how to toast a bagel and make a sandwich. I ordered a Western Bagel sandwich and it was delicious with smoked bacon and peppers and onions. The prices are right too and the place is very large inside. A definite pick me up in the morning!

This review is based on a catering order I placed for work. I called 3 days in advance of my event just to ask general questions about bagel platters, lead time on orders, etc. They were very friendly, gave me great info, and told me that based on what I wanted they could hook me up as late as day of our event. 24 hours beforehand I called to place my order of 20 bagels, cream cheese, and lox. The guy on the phone, Josh, was extemely helpful — letting me know about the bagel and cream cheese platter(around $ 20, which served 16) and the bagel and lox spread platter(around $ 60, which served 10). I asked if I could custom my order to be practical and save money. With Josh’s help I ordered one bagel and cream cheese platter(for 16) with 4 additional plain bagels added to it. I also ordered two 1-lb packages of lox($ 5.99 each). My total came to $ 41. When I arrived(at 7:30AM day of my event) they knew exactly who I was, what my order was, and had it ready and waiting for me at a side table. In terms of the actual food — the bagels are doughy on the inside with a crisp shell(my favorite kind), the cream cheese options are all delicious(plain, garden veggie, and honey nut), and the lox was fresh and buttery. Perfect all around. Overall the service was excellent, the staff was exceptional, the value was great, the food was delicious, and the platter really was an awesome addition to our event. Would repeat any time!!!

Went to Bruegger’s on the VFW on the way to get a haircut. Need to get that morning burst of natural energy with a cup of fresh squeezed OJ. So I thought. What was I thinking? Fresh, natural squeezed OJ from a respectable bagel/bakery? Almost go hand in hand. Guess how disappointed I was to find out my OJ was not fresh squeezed? They charge as if the juice was squeezed from sunny Florida and shipped over. Yes I am upset. I even took a photo of it to show how bad it was. So the 1 star is for having frozen concentrate OJ. I’ll go to IHOP or McD’s for frozen OJ if that’s what I desired.
