Great weekend Starbucks, the staff is really friendly. I rarely come here in the morning though, they don’t have the turn around for a fast paced coffee stop for a commuter.

I travel all over the country & this Starbucks is the best of all I’ve visited – and I’ve been to dozens at this point. Boston is my hometown so I frequent 3 or more Starbucks around the city when I’m home. This Starbucks in W Roxbury has a fantastic & friendly staff. Always personable & professional. And great drinks!

Pretty much your standard Starbucks, although the last time I was there, the floors were really dirty. Also, sbux in general in my experience has sloppy looking dairy stations; they just never look like they have been cleaned recently. This location is no different in that regard.

Recently had my cappuccino cup in this place. Everything is like it should be in every Starbucks but the guys on the counter seemed to slow and not happy to see you. It happens, wish them only good. 4 stars!

Ideally 3.5 stars but I’ll round up to 4. Recently my party of 4 came here around 7:20 — 7:30pm on a beautiful Sunday eve. It was still hot and sunny out. It was tricky finding parking but we ended up parking in the nearby Roche Brothers grocery store, since we had to pick up some pastries there anyhow. The place was cute, well-lit, medium sized, with lots of natural light through the windows, and spotless clean. It was also empty of customers. We were so surprised that this the staff were slowly closing up shop, storing the foods and cleaning up behind the counter.(I guess they close at 8pm on Sundays). It seemed so early! And it was so light and nice out! The two gals behind the counter were super nice and the made our drinks well, and accommodated my prickly aunt who was unfamiliar with all things Starbucks. We love Starbucks! We would have stayed and gotten snacks here but for their shortened hours.

I can’t believe this place. In the middle of the summer, on three consecutive occasions I have stopped in and around 7:30 pm 90 minutes before closing and they do not have Iced Coffee. The only response was sorry we ran out. I thought when that happens you make more. Not sure who is in charge running the place but the sorry we ran out is wearing thin.

An average Starbucks. Was packed in the morning. They should definitely hire more people.

I am a regular! Yes I said it. I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. Seeing as how it’s coffee… I’m going to say good. The staff is wicked friendly and know what I want to drink before I get up to the counter. Always accommodating, nice, quick and efficient. I love that there is a Starbucks near where I live. It seems they mostly exist downtown. To have one nearby is like heaven sent. Keep up the good work! I hope the company thinks about expanding some more outside the city.

Very clean bathrooms and tables. I like most of the employees here. Very respectful and knows how to make their drinks. Now if there were more tables for people to sit at and do some work, that place would be even better! Bathrooms are disgusting, though. I went in there and there was feces splattered against the walls.

This is my first review so forgive me for it being unorganized. I go to this Starbucks quite regularly since it’s really close to where I live and I prefer to go to the actual store rather than the little Kiosk type thing in the neighboring QFC. I generally go late at night, around 6pm to right before closing, but sometimes I go in the afternoon at well — maybe this has something to do with the problem I have with the staff. While the baristas I see regularly are great — we have small conversations on occasion, I’ll ask for a recommendation, other times I just place my order and say thanks when i’m not feeling very chatty(which is more often than not), the others are terrible. With the«regular» baristas that I see, they uphold the standards of Starbucks from what I imagine Starbucks to be(remake drinks if mistake, make sure things are clean, etc). However, my problem is with the baristas I don’t see. Now, I don’t know if these people are new, are brought over from other locations when the store is short staffed, or they just have different shifts from the times I usually go so I just don’t see them. Either way, I feel they should also be as responsible as the rest of the staff. I have a few experiences where my drink has been mistakenly made — I always order no-whip nonfat but I got full fat with whip, I mentioned it and they didn’t even blink or say sorry. Just moved on and ignored me. I’m not allergic to full fat milk or anything like that, but it does make me feel ill. I’m a very introverted person as well, so once they they didn’t respond to me after politely asking them to re-make my drink, only to be told that ‘it doesn’t say non-fat’ I left and gave my drink away to someone else. Another experience that really ruined how I viewed this Starbucks was just last night — Halloween 2014. I’m not a Halloween person and I don’t really understand i’ve been living back in Japan for the past 10 years without the whole trick-or-treating aspect(though they do dress up and go to parties), but I do know that for little kids it must be a very fun and exciting night. So from what I know, Westwood Village does a candy hand out for kids(?) during this night, but by the time I headed to starbucks — around 8pm, it seemed that most of the stores were out, which was understandable. The problem that I had was while I was waiting in line behind another couple, a group of kids — 2 of them I believe with their adult, stood patiently in line behind me. The little girl really brought back my faith in children when the adult said«you don’t have to wait, just ask» and the little girl said, «no we have to wait in line, you can’t cut.» [I don’t even like kids and my heart melted a little bit]. Eventually though, the little kids said«Trick-or-treat!» only to be coldly told«We don’t have candy anymore.» by the young lady at the register. Of course if they’re out of candy that’s not their fault, and I assume there’s a limit they are allowed to buy or have that they can hand out as a company rule or something, but the problem I had was with how rude she was about telling the poor kids ‘we don’t have anymore’. Even if you had a bad day, i’m sorry, but working in retail means you need to put up a front and at least act friendly. You give the company it’s reputation, by acting badly, you’re making the company look badly. And not to mention — they were kids!!! The poor things, I was tempted to buy them little cakes or something and hand them over, but I felt that would be… a bit strange and just kept to myself.(And instead came on here to complain) I think once another kid came in, another lady came from the back and told them much nicer — «‘i’m really sorry, we’re all out» which was what I wold expect to be the generic way to let someone down. So, overall I’m giving this Starbucks location a 3, because of how close it is and even with the occasional bad servers, the other servers I see more regularly are very nice and helpful, and the establishment is kept pretty clean. Also, later at night there are always cops hanging around, so in my opinion I feel a bit safer as a lone female in the dark should something happen, though that is just me.

Conveniently located between my house and my workplace. I’ve been trying to cut down on my coffee consumption lately, but when I was a regular, a couple of the baristas knew me by name and would start making my drink when I was still in line. They’re so friendly! It can get busy during prime morning hours, but hey it’s Starbucks and everyone needs their morning cup. Also a great place to study and get some work done.

The staff is much more friendlier these days! As of lately I have been more than satisfied with my service. I try my best to always say good morning & smile even when they’re swamped with customers & look totally aggravated!

This Starbucks is in my neighborhood, so I have used it frequently. Unfortunately it seems to be the one Starbucks that can’t get it right. Every other time I go there my cappuccino has milk up to the rim. I am so tired of asking them to remake my drink, and more than once they have been rude in response to «Sorry, I ordered a cappuccino and this is filled with milk.» The whole premise of Starbucks is premium service and product for a premium price. This Starbucks just offers the premium price consistently. It’s a hike up to Putterham but I’ll be making it when I have the time. And for a really awesome coffee experience try Café Fixe in Washington Square — coffee as art. Update: 2÷26÷15 Still no improvement at Starbucks, but I stopped into the new local coffee shop in West Roxbury, El Recreo. Delicious. I wish them luck, but parking will be an issue for them. Free public lot is around the corner though.

Out of all the Starbucks this place needs some staff training. They are too quick… they don’t listen… they make mistakes. I ordered a Capuccino and got Americano and they said it was what I ordered. I was very careful when I ordered… it happened a few weeks later, again! The girl barista, whipped it back from me and tossed it in the sink. I was very polite it was her error. Last week i tried again and I got a watery no foam cold Capuccino. I’ll go to Putterham in Brookline they know what they are doing. At $ 3.00/coffee…they should be perfect! I will contact Starbucks themselves… and yes I know I can have it remade… but when you are in a hurry…

For being the only coffee shop on this stretch of Centre street, this shop is never adequately staffed on weekends. Expect to wait 15 – 20 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday. Lack of staffing has led to multiple wrong orders. If you have another option, highly recommend it.

The staff is great here. They are really nice and generally in a good mood. I wish it was a slightly bigger starbucks… not a lot of room to sit down.

although I live in West Roxbury I usually go to another starbuck’s and after my experience I will never frequent this location again. I came on picked up a pack of K cups and was waiting in line to order my coffee and a pastry. After waiting in line for about 10 minutes I make it up to the counter and go to order my coffee. The girl takes the order and proceeds to turn around and tell me «ah yea we are out of that you will have to something else» followed by «we were short handed one person so we cant make anymore» I politely said ok thank you and walked out and could hear the employee calling me a derogatory remark to one of her co workers that was apparently leaving because she made some comment about finally getting out of there. Needless to say I will not be returning.

I have come here frequently for years. However, I just had an experience that guarantees that I will never come to this store again — and, most likely, never again to another Starbucks. It was that unpleasant. I come in, buy a pound of coffee, get a drink, and sit down to relax over a crossword, probably twice a month. Yesterday, I came in around 4PM, bought coffee, and settled down into my favorite location: one of the four comfy chairs in front, surrounding a low coffee table. As always, I kick back, relax, put my feet on the table, and settle into the crossword. I’ve been doing this for years and have seen scores of others doing exactly the same. It’s always been perfectly comfortable. Except, today, after I’d been there about 20 minutes, a woman came in, saw the three vacant chairs surrounding the table, selected the one directly across from me, and attempted to set up her laptop on top of my feet. She attracted my attention and demanded that I move my feet. I obliged her by shifting the table so there is plenty of room for both of us, and went back to my crossword. At this point, the woman stood up, said a few rude things to me, and went to «tattle» on me to the employees. Now, what should they have done? You have one customer who had been there for 20 minutes, minding his own business, and another customer comes in and decides to confront the first one. Perhaps they could have suggested that the second customer take one of the other available comfy chairs. Or, perhaps she could have sat at the long row of chairs at the place where most laptop users sit. I suppose it would have been too much for them to suggest that she just put her laptop in — gasp — her lap, rather than on a low coffee table, over which she’d have to uncomfortably lean in order to type. Whatever. The choice they made? To come over to me and demand that I move my feet«so that other people can use the table». Even though I was not preventing anybody from using the table. I stood up and asked the employee if she was intending to drive away a customer. She smiled and nodded and said«very good.» I told her that permanently driving away customers couldn’t be good for the store, and I left. I can probably chalk this up to severely deficient training; it is hard to imagine how siding with the bat-shit crazy customer who wants to confront strangers is the correct customer service response. But this incident has made it very clear that I never want to come back to this store again. Note: I had a seriously unpleasant experience here, which I accurately described above. I submitted the review but — surprise! — Unilocal«filtered» it out, so that only positive reviews remained for this location. I resubmitted it because I believe that you, a potential customer, has the right to know that everything is NOT rosy about this location.

The staff here is great. Friendly, knowledgeable, efficient My only complaint is that the tables are not always clean – considering how busy it is, it’s a challenge, but compared to other locations, this one has dirty tables more often.

Can’t believe no one has reviewed yet. It’s down the street from my humble abode, so I come here occasionally. It’s usually pretty busy but they keep the crowds manageable. It’s got a good selection of tables, bar style seating, and a pair of comfy chairs I’m currently sitting in. No complaints, a solid Starbucks location.
