Great salmon Cobb salad. Spinach, goat cheese, bacon, egg and of course grilled salmon. Excellent! The goat cheese was an incredible creamy compliment to the hot salmon. Really unique and incredible. Prices were reasonable. Good tunes too!

I came here for lunch with some friends. We were seated immediately and had great service. The food was unimpressive. I split the Grilled Salmon Cobb Salad and Turkey Reuben with a friend. The salad was delivered to me missing the cheese and in general pretty flavorless. The rueben was fine, at best. It was unclear whether it actually had an dressing on the sandwich or not. Also, what they call fries are actually closer to homefries. They were good, but just not what I was expecting. I’m not sure I’d go back. There are bunch of other places that are better nearby.

we went to back deck before a show and overall the food was good and our waitress was really nice. the menu is pretty traditional with pub style appetizers, salads, burgers, and entrees, and everything is very reasonably priced. I originally chose the pork tacos but unfortunately they were all out so I decided to get the swordfish over greek salad instead. it vas a very generous portion with tons of big cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, and olives. I thought the swordfish was pretty good, very moist and a simple salt and pepper seasoning. everyone else seemed to enjoy their selections and commented that the potato wedge fries were a particular favorite..

the service was disappointing. Our waitress(Nicole) insisted on IDs for the 2 guys with us, and was not happy with the form of ID provided by one of them so refused to serve alcohol –fine. She then took the order from us for wine/two girls(all 4 of us on our thirties) and did not ask for an ID. so rude. also part of the order arrived at the end of the meal. we will not be going back.

I was excited to come here… first, I ordered a drink from the menu. .they didn’t have it… then I ordered food and they brought me back rotten tomatoes and salad. Not cool! I was disgusted and couldn’t even eat, so I sent the food back.

Ambiance: laid back American vibe Food: I ordered the Provencal vegetables, which included roasted red peppers, a lentil salad, roasted red onion, green beens, grilled polenta, and basil pistou. The grilled polenta was disappointing, but everything else was good. The highlight of the meal was the maple pecan bread pudding. It was delicious! If you like bread pudding, it’s a must order. Service: A little inattentive, but that might have been because my friend and I were deep in conversation and looked like we didn’t want to be bothered.

I keep giving this place a chance, but each time I’m left disappointed. The ambience is really nice and the service is fine. The food, however, needs a little work. I had a veggie wrap there over the summer that was pretty sloppy and bland. Tonight, I had the lobster roll. It was the saltiest thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. Yikes. The waiter(who was very personable, by the way) steered me toward side of fries when I asked about my options, but I went for the salad. On the one hand, I’m glad: salty fries on top of the already crazy-salty lobster roll? No thanks. On the other hand, I would’ve at least had a more filling meal for $ 22. I was not too impressed.

Back deck is literally in my backyard at work so coming here for one is very easy. The staff are nice, the patrons friendly and there is a gluten free menu with satisfying options. I’ve been here a lot and can not turn down the gluten free meatballs. Whether they have the lamb or turkey, it’s a great bit to eat if your not all that hungry or as an appetizer to share. I often don’t want to share but I will, no one has disliked them. People are always surprised gluten free food can be this good. They are made well, you can’t tell the difference. The burgers are great and frequently the reason I come here. I do not eat burgers often but when the craving hits, this is my go to option after work for a burger and french fries. Thats right, the french fries are gluten free and delicious so anyone can get them and one wouldn’t notice. I like the atmosphere as well, it’s an upscale laid back bar, clean and inviting environment. Whether your looking for lunch, cocktails with appetizers or a burger this is the place to come. The bar is small so don’t expect a club scene and the seating is what the name entails, like sitting on a back deck without the outdoor breeze. Without the splinters. Who can resist!!! During the summer they do open the large windows for the summer air, very nice. This is one of the better restaurants in the area and one I personally prefer. The food is fresh, good selection and low key casual. Great place to hang out!

1 star for the ambiance. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Our experience could have definitely been better. It started out great, we were seated and the waiter, Tom, came to us shortly. We ordered drinks. About 10 minutes later we got our drinks and ordered food. That’s where the service disappeared, and we were never checked on. Our food was brought out to us by another person. We each got a burger: I the chickpea burger with coleslaw, and my friend their traditional beef burger with fries(ordered medium well). My meal was was as expected. The one thing I didn’t like was that it’s served in a basket. The chickpea burger just crumbled everywhere, and using a fork tore the paper to shreds dropping everything on the table. My friends medium well burger was raw in the middle. We had to find out waiter to have it cooked a little more. They literally took the toppings off and put the same burger back on the grill, and it came out with the same two bites. I’m not sure if they also cooked the fries longer? Because they were black(see uploaded photo). All in all a very big miss for us. I typed this whole thing waiting for my bill to be picked up. Yikes. Maybe a great ambiance for drinks, but pass on the dining here.

Like many reviewers said, the wait time was ridiculous. Two hamburgers took over an hour to serve. 1 drink refill in that time. I had the turkey mexi-cali burger. The burger meat and the fries were quite good, but the bun was too big and lacking flavor, and i found myself tearing big chucks of the bun off to correct the ratio. The bun was big, dense, and just tasted like the bleached flour that it was. Server was unconvincingly apologetic for the wait and didn’t give any excuses, and then only after i made uncomfortable sustained eye contact with him. Probably won’t come back.

My friends and I came here on a Wednesday night after the movie theater. There wasn’t a lot of people so we were seated immediately. The hostess wasn’t really that friendly. What’s more disappointing was that our waitress wasn’t either. She was very impolite and I felt that she did not want to serve us. Through out the night, she kept hinting to us to leave even though we had just got our food. Lastly, my corn bread was burnt and the butter was frozen. I had a very bad experience here and I won’t be coming back.

Lunch: I had the Caesar salad with salmon. The salmon portion was small and perfect. It was well cooked. The lettuce and Caesar dressing were delicious. I had ordered a side of French fries and they forgot it with my order, but the waitress made sure I got my French fries after I let her know my order was incomplete.

Went here with my wife for dinner before a movie. It was busy so we ended up sitting at the bar, which judging from other reviews, helped us get better service than if we had sat at one of the tables. She had the Mexicali Burger and I had the Matterhorn burger [your basic burger with cheese, bacon, mushrooms]. Both came with fries. Both burgers were bland and not a whole lot of flavor. However, her burger came with an amazing chipotle mayo that was one of the best sauces that either of us have ever had. The fries were also fairly good. For dessert, I had the Indian pudding with ice cream, which was fairly good and reminded me of rice pudding but with Indian flavors. The wife had a back deck s’mores which she said was good. I was a little concerned that neither of the bartenders knew how to describe the Indian pudding and had to go back to figure out how to describe it, but it turned out for the best. So overall, food was just average with some bright spots here and there, but it was surprising to taste such bland burgers despite them looking really delicious. The rest of the menu looked interesting though, so we will probably come back another time to give it another try.

This is definitely a place to come in the summer when the weather is good. They open the big windows which is really nice if there’s a breeze. I prefer to sit at the bar and hang out. Haven’t had much to eat here since I usually get drinks, but I do have to say that their grilled cheese was great. The bread was thick and toasty with lots of gooey cheese. The fries were decent too. I like how this place has a backyard BBQ feel to it. Sets it apart from other places in the area.

Pretty lame. I’ve always wanted to try this place ever since it opened. Today was the day. The décor is great. It feels like you really are on the back deck. Service was excellent as well. That’s where it all ended. My wife had the spiked strawberry lemonade and I had The Ginger Arnold Palmer. Neither of us bothered finishing our drinks. We had the cornbread to start and it was actually pretty good. The serving of maple butter was kind of small. My wife had the chicken and pasta. The chicken was pretty fatty. The pasta was al dente(like rubber bandy squeaky al dente). I had the cheeseburger with fries. The cheeseburger itself was unremarkable. The fries were cold. Again, the service was very good. I’d definitely pass on this place.

We came here after a post-work event this past Friday. It was great for an average«where is the closest place» kind of spot. Other than that, it wasn’t exactly spectacular. Service was average, space around the bar was below average, overall impression is… average. I’d say come here if you don’t know of any other places and it will do fine, but it’s not the place you go if you know the area.

Came in on a Monday right when it opened and was seated immediately(sometimes there can be a wait if the staff isn’t ready yet). The place definitely has that back deck atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful since it was my first time visiting. My particular waiter went above and beyond with helping me learn the area as I had only be in town for a week. He wrote down some suggestions of places for me to visit along with which T stations were nearby. The burger I order was good(Mexicali burger), but the potato wedges were hot on the outside, but a bit cold on the inside. Other than that, no complaints. The menu has a decent food and drink selection. What was most impressive was the table across from me that was in a rush and asked the waiter to help keep them on schedule. The waiter was not annoyed by this and made sure their food was out quickly and that they got the check quickly. He was super helpful — wish I remembered his name. Good service is hard to come by — I’ll definitely be coming back.

Back Deck is a pretty solid choice if you’re in the area. Its not my first choice but they pulled through with decent service and pretty good food. The first time I went here I got a burger and the second I went for a marinated chicken, mashed potatoes, and grilled zucchini dish. The chicken was okay but it’s deff more of a burger spot. I also recommend getting the grilled shrimp appetizer – it’s amazing. They also make some mean drinks for not being a craft cocktail spot. I had their house manhattan and they did it right. Super good take on a classic cocktail. Also, did I mentioned they sat 20 of us in 5 minutes? Hats off to Back Deck for that.

The food here was mediocre at best. Mu have this restaurant three stars for the good service and lively atmosphere. We came here for brunch. I ordered the Eggs Diablo, which had absolutely no flavor to it. I even had to add hot sauce to the dish to actually feel like I was eating something with taste. It was just so bland. My father in law ordered the Mexican burger which he seemed to enjoy so that was a plus.

Funny staff and great drinks. They have 888 vodka from Nantucket, which not everywhere has and is a great vodka. I got a drink with that of ‘my own’ creation and Berkshire Summer which has cucumber juice that they make which was great, not too chunky. I didn’t get food but my friend did and the fries were fantastic. Great sauce too, creamy and kind of spicy.
