Tea is good, don’t drink much coffee. great for togo or even just chilling in the seats with some food and drinks. It’s not that big, but I’ve seen smaller spaces. Service was good. very convenient, not complaints

Really? Managers are changing the closing time to whatever they feel like? I bought a coffee without realizing it and was forced to find another coffee place, and almost got kicked out of it because I hadn’t finished my coffee. The banana bread was questionable, and had green stuff on it. I’m not hard to please, really. Also, what’s with the loud reggae music? Get it together, guys.

Painfully slow internet. Came here to get some work done midday on a Friday. The place was not packed at all, so it didn’t feel like a congestion issue. It took me 10 minutes to send out an email with a small attachment. The overall space is fine, but nothing to write home about. It’s an average coffee shop with average coffee. Wouldn’t come back for the beverages and can’t get a lick of work done here. At best I would stop in for a cup of coffee to-go if my options were limited.

Ok so I love that Boston Common Coffee Company has an array of local products and that their coffee is roasted locally… what I don’t love is rude service. I found Boston Common Coffee Company about 5 years ago while interning in the North End. I frequented their Salem St location because of the friendly service and their great products. I now work about a block down from their Washington Street location – and frequent it probably once or twice a week. Normally they are just slow – nothing really to complain about. Today, however, I did go to Boston Common Coffee company with the intention of purchasing lunch, around 1:30pm. I waited in line for about 20 minutes because there was a cashier staring at the cooler either contemplating filling it or was confused my filling it – not sure. Finally, this cashier came to the register and served me while his colleague was helping another couple. I was met first just with an attitude from the cashier before I even placed my order. I went to order an egg and cheese on a plain bagel – which I saw no problem with. No where, and I mean no where, is it posted they do not serve breakfast sandwiches past 1 pm. The cashier, who I should note has dreadlocks past this waist and they were not tied back(ew you’re working around food), promptly snapped at me that they do not«do eggs after 1pm». No apology, nothing. I wanted a breakfast sandwich – I would not have waited in line for 20 minutes if I’d known I wasn’t going to get what I wanted. Honestly, Boston Common Coffee Company, you’ve lost a frequent customer. I hope that you don’t treat all of your customer’s this way and you post your policy somewhere in the restaurant.

Amazing scones and breakfast sandwich. I also enjoyed my mocha late, chocolate and not too sweet. A great place for coffee and a quick bite for breakfast!

I was not impressed. The coffee was overpriced for the small size. But that’s not what my issue was. I ordered the pesto, tomato panini which sounded good in theory. What they served my was a tortilla with unripe tomatoes, no pesto, and heaps of mozzarella. A tortilla? Really? Come on now… They were jam packed with people as it was a cold morning. There was confusion over where the line was supposed to go and there ended up being two lines with people getting a tad heated over«skipping» the line. Could have used some supervision. I probably won’t make a point of coming back here.

Not bad, not great. Pastries aren’t very good, coffee was good. Some good options for sitting and getting work done, and the Wifi worked well. Good music playing at a reasonable volume.

Been here a few times and the coffee is always great — especially since we buy Stumptown every time we’re there. Place is small and ALWAYS crowded — so you know they’re doing something right. Definitely some decent choices for breakfast and it is located in a GREAT area(right across from Boston Common). I’d suggest grabbing a coffee to go and walking through the park on a nice day.

Great convenient spot for for wide array of quick breakfast options and strong caffeinated drinks. Location: Ultra convenient — Near Downtown Crossing T Stop. Definitely for pedestrians only. Great stop off for breakfast before early errands or shopping. Big windows for people watching central. Food: Delicious — usually, I get the egg and cheese on a bagel — well toasted and fresh. Also, an array of bakery goods like dank oatmeal cookies. Coffee: Strong but flavored. Drink on an opened stomach and slight heart arrhythmias may occur. The«Crowd»: Wide array of college kids, working professionals, and the occasional 30 year old jerk like me(actually very polite). The Staff: Polite, fast, and knowledgeable. The«Place»: Consistently cleaned by staff, seating is possible(leather couches are even possible), alternative music(coffee shop music), but definitely busy near«commute» times. Always will enjoy returning = 5 stars

I’ve been here a few times at this point. I’ve tried their breads, bars, scones and they’re all very good(plus big!). I’m a fan of their mocha latte so I keep ordering the same thing every single time. There’s always a decent line and the service is slow since there’s one person taking the order and another person preparing the coffee but if you’re not a huge rush, this is the place to indulge in coffee&pastries.

If you want bad coffee served with a poor attitude come here. My barista didn’t put my flavor in my coffee and when I brought it back she pumped some vanilla into a smaller cup and gave it to me for me to add to my cup. Just no. I know it’s just coffee… But no. No I won’t be back.

I’ve only had coffee here. This is a convenient place near the Common for coffee and food. There is plenty of seating at tables, bar counters and couches. There are also plenty electrical outlets for people to charge their gadgets and stuff. The mood here is nice and comfy, much more so than a Starbucks. This is a true coffee house where people can meet, mingle, hangout and chill.

While visiting Boston this summer my family and I had a wonderful time and met some very nice people. I am sorry to say I did not have this same good experience at the Boston Common Coffee Co and I must vent my issue. The women that took our order at the counter was was just not very nice and made me very uncomfortable. She might have been having a bad morning or something, but I don’t think the customers should suffer for it. I will say our breakfast was very good, but I would never go back for fear of the same treatment.

Seriously the best dirty chai. Get it hot or cold what ever chai blend they use is perfect and you don’t need to add sweetener. I’m guessing the coffee is pretty good too. I don’t usually get anything else. The baked goods are edible but nothing to write home about. Did I say best dirty chai?

Review #300 I’ve been here a few times on Thursdays when they have donuts or when Caffe Nero is too crowded/noisy. I like how this place has more specialty flavored coffee options(nutella latte anyone?). Breakfast pastries are half off after 2pm. I like the muffin tops(usually there are 2 or 3 varieties). The winter seasonal flavor contained figs which was delicious. On donut Thursdays, try to come before noon because they sell out. They usually have a few flavors, with at least one gluten-free option. $ 2.00 each. Lots of outlets and free wifi, which has been a hit or miss. The old couches in the back of the café(near the restroom) has recently been replaced with more chairs/tables. There’s only one unisex bathroom. I don’t find the service to be as friendly as in my favorite coffee shops, but it’s not rude or anything.

Always insanely busy! I drop by for coffee when I’m in the downtown crossing area. It’s a cute place to bring a date or hang out(if you can get a spot). I wouldn’t say their coffee is more amazing than any other place. I usually order regular coffee, an espresso shot or a latte so I can’t speak for their specialty drinks. The pistachio cookie is amazing. I’ve never had a cookie like it! It’s nutty, slightly sweet and squishy in the middle. :)

Word on the street was that Thursdays were«Doughnut Thursdays» at Boston Common Coffee Co. So when I realized I had just passed one of their four locations just a bit after 9am, I turned myself around and headed on in. Donuts are made on site, I was told, and I checked out the pastry case where the day’s choices resided. Vegan Biscoff, Brown Sugared Banana, Cinnamon Sugar. A fourth flavor was sold out. But that’s okay — I ended up with the last banana donut for $ 2.73 inclusive of tax, which was packed into a clear plastic clambox for me. They take Levelup, and I took the donut with me. I found it a little oily on the outside, but nice and soft. The primary sweetness was not in the smooth filling, but was due to the white glaze on top. A nice once in a while treat.

One of the best café’s downtown if you are looking to get some work done and possibly some food(Better than Thinking Cup in my opinion). Their paninis are very unique, I’m a fan of the Roasted Egglant and Artichoke one. They also had a meatball sub one a while back, but I haven’t seen it on the menu(bring it back!). They’re lattes are delicious, I’m a fan of the smores one. Perfect temperature every time. Definitely comparable to Starbucks in my opinion. Service for lattes and the sort have always been a little slow, but thats what you get at a local coffee shop in my opinion, no hate. There’s plenty of seating around the corner and in the back of the café if you’d like to get some work done in a quieter area. Plenty of outlets. Lots of couches.
