This place has a very vibrant and fun atmosphere, but not very good food. I’ve been here with a group of people on two separate occasions and have always left feeling disappointed with my meal. The last time I went, I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich, which consisted of a bun with a TINY amount of meat on it; some onions and wilted lettuce on the side; and a small cup of coleslaw. Despite being room-temperature, the coleslaw was pretty decent, but that was the only redeeming part about my meal. Although it’s not that expensive, I still don’t see it being worth the money.

Terrible customer service that I feel compelled enough to leave a bad review for a waiter named Francesco. A friend and I came in for dinner. We EACH ordered a frozen mango margarita – he gave us, and charged us for a liter which we obviously didn’t finish because THATISNOTWHATWEORDERED. If we wanted a liter, we wouldn’t EACH order for it. If you were unsure you should have asked us for clarification and you didn’t. And as new customers, we weren’t sure if you were just combining both single-glass margaritas into one jug. Didn’t get us glasses of water until I asked for it when I finally got his attention at the END of our visit, when our food was done. Asked for my order to go, forgot it when I left but was back within 5 minutes. He said he threw it out already. If I went through the trouble of asking for it to go, it is common sense to hold on to it for at least 5 minutes and assume I forgot. What the hell? What a HUGE waste of food. I would be less mad if they just literally walked outside and handed my leftovers to a homeless person. I’m not coming back, especially when Border Café in Harvard Square is a great alternative.

This place gets a bad rap but if you are looking for Tex-mex and a margarita at a reasonable price this is a good spot. The chips are served warm which is a nice touch, the salsa is nothing special but easy to eat! For drinks we went to a liter of the house margarita on the rocks and a liter of frozen half strawberry and half raspberry(this really stole the show!!!) you must order this! For $ 15 a liter it’s a solid deal and you get almost 4 full glasses from them! For food I was with a large group! I went with the chicken quesadilla which was good but not amazing, however I’d eat it again today– it was enough food that I finished it but didn’t feel overly stuffed We had 3 orders of fajitas, 2 chicken and 1 steak. The chicken was loaded on however the steak was a little disappointing for the price! They were served with Guac, salsa and sour cream on the side(no cheese or lettuce) We also ordered the pulled pork platter which came with baked beans and coleslaw and a corn muffin! Overall great place to get a cheap dinner and drink!

The low ratings made me a bit worried but I don’t agree with them at all. A lot of people complained about the poor service but I didn’t have any issues with that at all. Even on a busy night, they came by to check on the table a lot. Food comes out very quickly and they’re pretty good! I like the steak fajita. The portion is just enough. But my favorite thing about here are the drinks! They’re cheap, strong, and delicious! As with the food, the drinks come out quickly. I usually stick with the ‘Rita on the Rocks, but the frozen ones are good as well, like an alcoholic smoothie. Don’t let the ratings deter you from here and give it a try.

I’ve been coming to Fajitas n Ritas for years — the frozen margaritas are priced really cheap(they have raised the prices since when I started coming, but still cheaper than most places, if not all, that I have been to) and taste really good. I recommend the strawberry-mango flavor. At my last visit, I came when the restaurant was not busy and the wait staff was attentive. The food is below average. I like the free chips(which come out warm) and salsa. The salsa doesn’t taste like it is freshly made but hey it’s free. My friends and I got the vegetable quesadilla, nachos, and guacamole. Again, all the food tastes pre-made, frozen, and then reheated. The portions are pretty big. My friend’s quesadilla looked more like a calzone than a quesadilla.

If you like poor service, dirty bathrooms, packaged guacamole squirted into a filthy bowl and a quesadilla filled with frozen vegetables then this place is for you. Anyone that thinks other wise must of had their taste buds scraped off by the grill of a tractor trailer. Good luck sheep.

Definitely a place I will be coming back to. The Cointreau margaritas were really good, as were the Dr. Pepper ribs and the chili. The atmosphere was nice and laid back and the prices were certainly reasonable for both the food and drinks.

Very packed place and was lucky to find a table since the bar was closed. Ordered a liter of the frozen mango margarita. They also have strawberry, raspberry and a special blended margarita. Other non-blended margaritas were on the menu. A good amount of tequila was utilized for this batch :) I ordered the bowl(12 oz.) chili. Very spicy and nice big chunks of beef and tomatoes. Really surprised to find a fine chili here in Boston. Nice little spot to grab a quick drink and bite to eat.

Have eaten here several times and this is one of the better Mexican restaurants in Boston. There is an extensive margarita menu and the drinks are strong and cheap. You can even get a pitcher to share if you and your friends want the same flavor, each one serves about 4 people. The pitchers are a good deal too, each person in my party of 4 the last time I was there had to contribute $ 7.44 towards 2 pitchers. I always go with the fajitas and they are always delicious. The chips they serve always come out warm, and the salsa is mild but yummy. The service is always friendly and attentive as well. I often come here before going to a show at the Opera House since they get you in and out in a timely manner.

This is one of the better Mexican restaurants I have been to in Boston. There is an extensive margarita menu with good quality and reasonably priced food. The atmosphere is loud and vibrant which makes for a fun and upbeat dining experience. The service was decent considering there was only a couple waitresses in the packed restaurant. Just make sure you pay attention to how you smell when you leave, my boyfriend and I left with our clothes reeking of onions.

I really wanted to like this place. I mean, who wouldn’t want to have a solid, go-to place for margaritas just steps away from their office?(If you replied«Me!» to that question, please stop reading this review and reevaluate your life.) That being said, the food is just mediocre. Nothing special. The tortilla chips taste like they were just dumped out of a Tostitos bag(except…not as good) and the salsa was just a tiny cup of disappointment. There was a pretty long wait(granted it was 6pm on Friday — see, not the only one who is trying to get on that post-work margarita train!), but once we were seated, our server came right by to take our order. My friend and I shared a liter of the Raspberry Frozen Margarita. This place doesn’t mess around… that sucker was strong. Whew. If you are just looking to grab a drink and there is space at the bar, I’d check this place out. If you’re looking for food, I’d go elsewhere.

In terms of food quality, taste, and presentation, I just had the most memorably bad restaurant meal of my life at Fajitas & Ritas. I first came here about shortly after moving to Boston for an afternoon snack with a friend – margaritas and chips and queso after seeing a show in the theater district. We both agreed that the margaritas were weak and the queso was watery; not terrible but not great, Fast forward a year, and I happened to be in the area during a workday lunch and was really craving some fajitas(it was cold and rainy outside and this just sounded perfect to me at the time.) I sat at the bar, and the bartender brought chips and salsa. The chips were hot but the salsa was terrible, tasted store bought and loaded with vinegar. So I ordered a guar appetizer to go with the chips instead. I’m a big fan of guacamole and make my own home, but this was the worst guac I’ve ever had. I think it was mixed with sour cream or something else to water it down, because it didn’t taste like straight avocados to me at all. Not good in the least. For my meal, I ordered the veggie fajitas. They came out barely sizzling, just a mass of vegetables on a cast iron skillet, literally tasteless with no seasoning whatsoever. When I reached for the salt shaker, I realized that it was covered in sticky grime. Yuck! Most Mexican restaurants hand make their flour tortillas, but these tasted like they were straight out of a package and barely heated. I love tex-mex restaurants for a quick meal and I’m not overly picky, but the food quality here was literally terrible. After my food arrived, no one ever checked on me or asked how it was(it was the end of the lunch hour and the restaurant was nearly empty.) I had to take out my credit card and place it on the bar to get someone’s attention to bring my bill. Hands down, worst restaurant meal of my life. There is NO way I’d go back here! I want my $ 12 back.

Came here minutes before closing time with a group of about 10 people and the service was still attentive and prompt. The restaurant was pretty empty making service a lot faster. I ordered the combination fajita with vegetables and shrimp and it was filling and delicious. The sangria was also pretty good. There were no complaints from the rest of my group. Ask for hot sauce and your meal will be complete!

Extremely extremely mediocre Mexican food, and awful customer service. Terrible customer service. Yeah, no thanks. I was in Boston around lunch time when I happened upon this place. I stood outside reading the menu in the window before deciding whether to go inside. A gentleman who was walking out, as he was walking out and past me, said«good food. You won’t be disappointed.» With that, I thanked him and walked in. I was a bit confused on walking in because the setup was a little unexpected; that is, there was no maître d’ desk from what I could tell so I didn’t know where to go. I stood at the bar for about 1 minute. There was a guy behind the bar counting money. I know he could see me in his peripheral; I mean, I was quite literally within inches of him. I said hi. He did not respond. This should’ve been my red flag to book it outta there, but, no, not me; I’m the quintessential damned fool at times like this. I stood there a few more seconds and then decided it must be a seat yourself kind of establishment so I grabbed a menu from the stack and found a seat I liked. 5 minutes go by. 7 – 8 minutes go by. I take the menu and walk over to the bar where I got the menu from. Dude is still there. Now he’s interacting with two patrons seated at the bar. He glances at me and continues with the two patrons. I keep standing there(mind you this should’ve been the alarm that said«SHANNON, PUTTHEMENUDOWN, GRABYOURBAGANDGOSOMEWHEREELSE!!!» But, no, again, I’m a fool. I stood there until he was done and then he turns to me and gives me a «May I help you?» Look; you know, the one that says«why are you here.» I explain that I’ve been waiting around and no staff member has greeted me, offered me water, chips, nothing. I further explained that I sat myself after not being greeted by him or any other of the staff walking around. He then said I should sit in another area. Shaking my head, I walk back to my table to get my things and head to another table. He stopped me and brought over a menu; I guess he had a change of heart about that table situation. I asked for a water and when he came back I was ready to order. Really, I had been ready to order from jump, but whatev. I order a burrito. It was about 9.50. He brought back come chips and salsa, and my water, in the meantime. The salsa was whack as hell. They probably bought it from the 99c Only store, no lie. It was just not good. But the bigger disappointment was the burrito. Look at this tiny burrito. It was mad mediocre. Like frfr. I was tight. Like, no he didn’t bring this punk ass burrito to my table. Dafuq? Anyway, three or four bites later and the burrito was done. The only thing good on the table was the water. Smdh. Wasted my damn money and time. Now I’m off to hunt down that fella who sent me in here on them straight up lies! Smdh.

Cute little Mexican restaurant. Service was great. We sat down in the window area and ordered queso and a plate of nachos. The queso is not your regular kind and we ended up really liking it. The table next to us got a big pitcher of margaritas and it looked awesome.

Margs and chips/salsa are good, but just stop there. Menu is very limited and all four of us didn’t enjoy our meals. I got the chicken quesadilla which was super cheesy and bland. Also requested an ingredient to be left out due to a severe allergy but it was still served with it on the plate. Also took about 15 mins to be seated when there were plenty of of open tables. Pass.

Fajitas & Ritas is that kindof place that needs to reevaluate their whole existence. Why are you open until so early? Don’t you understand you guys have the best frozen margaritas in town and sometimes a girl wants to come over after 11pm? Why you don’t take reservations? Don’t you understand a girl needs certainty that she is going to get a table without hesitation on a Saturday night? Why are you tucked in in this little street in the middle of nada? Don’t you understand you need to get your name out there and let the world know how amazing your food is? Summary: The best spot for an after work beer or drink. OK Mexican cuisine. Not expensive whatsoever. Atmosphere is good. The waitresses are nice, some times. The bartenders are super nice. I recommend seating at the bar and just enjoy your life away. Love it here!!!

Ugh, I was here last night. Server was«M.Conci» 1. the chips & salsa are very good, at our table of 7 we got two baskets, then we asked for more chips… no one told us it would be $ 5 extra. Fine. 2. Margs are cheap and strong, I like them. 3. Our server forgot to put in one of the meals. We had to flag her down to tell her and she just said OK and walked away. By the time this person’s food came out the rest of the table had finished. So he asked her if it would be on the bill, and she said yes it would and said it was her fault she forgot to ring it in… YES we know you did??? She never apologized and got pretty snappy with him for asking, then she stormed off. 4. The food is fine, probably should just go to the Mexican place they opened next door. AND last but not least, we got the bill. It was around $ 131, no gratuity added in. We split it 4 ways on 4 different cards. One of the cards comes back and instead of being charged $ 40 ish like it should have been it was charged $ 86, and the rest of our cards were all charged the correct amounts. We go over to the computer where the server is to explain it needs to be fixed and she gives us a hard time saying she just charged what was owed. Then she points to the computer screen and it says(in the TIP section) she charged herself a $ 45 tip… after explaining this can not happen it was taken off the card. This is the most outrageous thing to ever happen to me(and friends), we all have worked or still do work in the restaurant industry, while her behavior was poor to begin with, adding in a tip via the computer to a credit card is wrong on so many levels. I have seen a server do this one time at a place where I worked and she was immediately fired. Also, even if gratuity was added in, a 25% tip still would not have been $ 45… Do NOT eat here. If you do pay extra special attention to the bill after…

Stopped by with 7 friends around 6:30 and we didn’t have to wait for a table. I found it a bit odd that they brought alcoholic drinks before water, but maybe that’s how they do things here… The complimentary chips and salsa are good. I ordered a chicken burrito with rice inside(if you don’t specify it comes on the plate). The food came within 10 minutes and the burrito was decent sized(2 meals) and stayed together nicely. The burrito had peppers, chicken, rice, refried beans, and cheese. They had romaine lettuce and tomatoes on the side but I would have rather had it in the burrito. Service was just okay, as was the burrito.

Went here a few months back with 4 other friends. I did not have any drinks, but did sip a few from my friends. Very strong but delicious, if you like a good cheap Margarita then this is your place. Everyone ordered quesadillas, just different ones. We sampled each others and they were all super delicious. I did take away 1 star due to being over charged for an extra margarita bucket, and had to point it out to the waitress. She seemed confused, and had to tell her we only ordered 1. I would visit again, maybe during an off hour and not for dinner.
