Brittany was our server and is the reason this rating is 5 stars. Absolutely the best server ever. Brittany has great interpersonal skills, amazing personality, great work ethic and clearly cares about her customers. I will come here again because of her! All of us at the table thought she was fantastic! Thank you for a great meal!

Very inconsistent restaurant regarding both food quality and service. I will say the quality of their burgers has decreased since they first opened. They used to actually season the burgers here and now they taste quite bland and are often burnt. Concerning service and overall dining experience, this place needs some serious work. Someone needs to tell the fucking management here that people generally want napkins and condiments when they go to a sit-down restaurant. Those aren’t things that customers should have to ask for every time. They also shouldn’t have to wait 10 minutes after they’ve received their food to be able to ask their server for those things. Overall, this place is just eh. Pretty overpriced food and not a very memorable dining experience.

Great chicken wings and the bar was good too! The movie halls were nice, big screen and comfortable seats! Especially love the $ 6 movie Tuesday!

It’s just ok, very modern and has a great feel but this far I’ve had nothing to eat there that is impressive. Pizza was ok, wings were ok, the Ruben had no flavor, pulled pork was out of a can for sure, fries tasted like fish, burgers are those only food item that I could recommended. The flip side is they have tons of tv space and show anything you can imagine. If you want a few beers and watch sports it’s ok. IDE eat at Bull & Bones first

Really good chicken wings!!! Quick service. Very friendly and family oriented. My kids had a great time. The screens are incredibly big, we enjoyed it so much. I would probably come again.

The food has been inconsistent. I have ordered the same salad three times and it had been different each time. They took the sweet potato tots off the menu too. Service can be really slow at times. Biggest complaint is beer selection. I really wish the would carry more craft beer our change it up from time to time. They really don’t do anything to make themselves stand out from other places in town as far as food is concerned.

It’s either really good, or really bad when we go here. Fortunately, we haven’t had any poor food experiences; just deplorable service. They have a few servers who are great; however, there are a few others who should never be allowed to interact with the public. We used to go here regularly on Sundays to watch football; however, the last time we went, the sound for the games wasn’t working. Perhaps that is something we should have been told when we asked to be seated near the game tv’s. When we asked a manager about it, we were only told they were«working on it». We sat with empty drinks for so long we decided to just get our check and go home and watch the games there. I’m really happy to have this place in Blacksburg and I think it’s a great benefit to our area; however, the customer service really needs help. A lot of the oversights are little things(like not bringing a bev nap or a coaster when serving a drink), but when a place charges more than other area establishments, it needs to provide more value than some big screen tv’s and loud music.

I called the Cinebowl in Blacksburg earlier in the week, because I was planning a 40th birthday get together/dinner with our friends, and I wanted to have it at the Cinebowl. I was looking at 25 – 30 people, so I called and spoke to Lisa. First she tried to sell me a bowling package, and I told her I just wanted dinner, to which she responded, Oh we can do a buffet, to which I told her that it’s just a bunch of friends getting together for dinner, and asked if the party size would be a problem. She said she had to ask the GM(Ryan), so I was on hold for over 5 minutes(she apologized) and when she came back she said well you can rent the Hokie Corral, and I told her I didn’t want to rent anything, we just wanted to have dinner, and one of the bartenders we know suggested I call, and said I could probably reserve the high tops at the bar. So Lisa went back to Ryan, and he said he wouldn’t reserve the tables for us. So I asked her if they were willing to let a party of 30 people go somewhere else, and she said yes. This group of people are all professionals and spend A LOT of money at the local restaurants and bars, so I was shocked when Frank’s was unwilling to accommodate us on a slow night. I was trying to be courteous and let them know about a large party, so they were prepared, but it appears that they don’t care for the business, that would have turned in to future business as well. I have enjoyed every time I’ve been there prior with friends and family, but this is going to make me think twice about going to eat there again. We ended up having over 35 people at the dinner, and from what I hear the Cinebowl was not busy last night at all. Very disappointed.

The food is delicious. We love the $ 5 burger night on Tuesdays because you can go to the theatre for a discount price after you finish those awesome burgers! The staff is very friendly, and the theatres themselves are beautiful with super comfy chairs!

Poorly executed bar food. BW3 has better tasting food and thats not saying much. Took the family here a few weeks ago for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We got the loaded fries as an appetizer and could not finish even half of it due to an inedible cheese sauce that was smothered onto it. Salmon burger was mediocre. They couldn’t even get the cheese pizza right as the middle was soggy and the cheese was not fully melted/rubbery. This«restaurant» actually had linen napkins on the table. Lol… what a joke! If we come back, it will be for a movie or bowling. Go to bull and bones if you want a decent meal.

Wife had chicken salad sandwich which was good but not great. I had a super pulled pork BBQ sandwich. Recommend for food. Not recommended for atmosphere unless you are less than 19 yrs old. Music blared so loud we could hardly think let alone talk.

We visited Cine Bowl recently and I was pleasantly surprised with no nice the establishment is. I know it’s brand new, but I think the part that I experienced was well executed… We didn’t bowl, or eat, or utilize the arcade, but we checked it all out and it looked nicely done. We did, however, catch a movie. We got popcorn and drinks, which were arguably cheaper than the theaters here in Roanoke… Popcorn was a little off for some reason, but it was still good! The inside of the theater itself is really nice and the seats were very comfortable in comparison to the average theater. If the screen wasn’t bigger than usual, they have some sort of great illusion going on! The only thing that I don’t understand is assigned seating. I get the concept if a movie is going to sell out and they want to cram everyone they can in there, but it just doesn’t make any sense to me if it’s not a brand new release or some sort of special release event. If the theater is half empty, I’m not going to sit right next to a complete stranger. I also like that it seems like they’ve blocked cell service. I can see why that might be a problem for some people, but I think it would encourage people to keep their cell phone in their pocket. There’s nothing more obnoxious than having someone answer a phone call in the movie theater or having ten phones lit up throughout the movie while people text, take pictures, etc. Anyway, looking forward to going back and experiencing the rest of it! Great idea for Blacksburg!

Very cool concept, wish we had similar in Wilmington, NC. Drinks and food were good, but the service was stretched really thin on our visit. I had to hunt down a server after 30 minutes of sitting down.

We’ve been to the Cinebowl twice now and had great experiences each time! The place is huge — lots of TV’s and couches. Arcade is fun but expensive(typical). Haven’t bowled, but looks like a nice space. We ate at the bar with both visits and service was pretty average. We had burgers both times which were fantastic! Plus you can’t beat the Tuesday special — $ 5 burger and $ 6 movie ticket! I also love that you can bring food and bar drinks into the theater! Biggest downfall = beer selection. Just awful compared to everywhere else in town — Why have this huge place, such a great place to watch a game and only have 5 beers on tap? There’s one rotating seasonal craft brew — if you don’t like it, you’re stuck with the usual domestics.

Like others have said, it seems like a good idea but very poor execution. It does have a vibrant atmosphere(a bit too loud for my taste); but that is only the beginning. Originally wanted a table for dinner but was about a 30 minute wait so decided on dinner at the bar instead. Bar staff was friendly but not particularly efficient. Drinks were not bad and the bartender actually properly poured a Guinness which doesn’t always happen. Ordered a starter and a couple entrees. Waited for about 45 minutes and inquired about the order. Bartender couldn’t do much about it(which is okay), so I asked to speak to the manager. He was not particularly helpful as he seemed not experienced in the industry at all. He apologized and made the excuse of «hind sight being 20⁄20 and as growing pains.» I understand the establishment has not been open too long but they need to have their staff up to speed before opening. Like others have said; there should NOT be an hour wait on a 3 minute«fire» of some egg rolls. They said the kitchen was an hour behind on ticket times; if that was the case why are the host/hostess staff telling people that it is a 30 minute wait? I mean they need to STOP seating and not sandbag the kitchen. The manager should have addressed the issue and communicated between the kitchen and front of house. He also said they have«shut down» the kitchen after speaking with me but as we left they were still seating… As for the food, it is decent. I mean it would have been better barring the wait but a bit over an hour for egg rolls and a couple burgers is not acceptable at any establishment. I’m not sure if there is a lack of training for the kitchen, lack of communication, being completely understaffed, or an experienced chef to run the kitchen but there are many issues that has to be addressed before this place will live up to the potential that it has. Needless to say, don’t anticipate getting served in a decent amount of time or to make a showtime unless you avoid the restaurant all together. If you just want a place to drink; it really isn’t too bad. But for now avoid this place until they get their act together. TL; DR. Food was okay, but not worth the wait. Maybe try it in a few months when they can get it together. For now avoid like the plague.

Take this place for what it is! It is an awesome space full of TVs great for sports viewing. Plus it’s a bowling alley with couches, music and even more TVs! Go there for a movie, bowling, sports, drinks! Don’t go there expecting a gourmet meal. I found the bartenders and the cocktail waitresses to be very attentive. The food was fine. A great addition to Blacksburg!

My family and I tried this place for lunch on a Saturday. We arrived relatively early(around 11:45) on purpose to avoid any lunch rush, but to no avail. The restaurant was nearly empty and it still took 45 minutes after ordering to get our food. When the food finally came, it was a mixed bag. We got the chicken fajitas, the blue cheese and bacon burger, and chicken fingers for the kids. On the positive side, the kids’ chicken fingers were«real» chicken(vs. the chicken nugget-y stuff you get at other restaurants) with pretty nice breading, the fajitas tasted good, and my burger was OK. On the negative side(besides the 45 minute wait), my fries were almost cold(like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while, not fresh), and for some reason the honey mustard they gave us for the kids’ meal had wasabi(or something similar) in it! It was very spicy, in the way that you could feel it in your nose(like wasabi). My wife and I liked it, but it definitely wasn’t something you should be giving kids. We told the waitress and she said, «I’ll go ask about it,» but never returned with a response. We’re hoping this poor performance is due to the fact that the place is newly opened, because it seems like a pretty neat space and the food had some promise for the type of restaurant that it is(i.e., sports grille). Definitely don’t bring young kids here, as they might not have the patience to wait nearly an hour for food.

Terrible execution of a fantastic idea. I was in Blacksburg for a university event this weekend and was excited to try this place out. I arrived 90 minutes prior to my selected movie time and the hostess told me there was an hour wait for a table so I wouldn’t have time to eat before the movie. As I walked into the bar inside the restaurant, I noticed the booths were only about half full and the bar seating was less than a quarter full. I tried to get something to eat at the bar and was declined and told that the waiting list was created to ensure the kitchen didn’t get slammed. I’m sure the owner did not design a business model for a half full restaurant to be successful. We walked outside and ate a fantastic meal at a restaurant a couple buildings away. Cinebowl and Grill is a total disaster and I would not recommend anyone to go there to eat.
