Mile High Sports

After checking the weather a few days before heading up to Big Bear, we were expecting warm days and cool, but clear nights. Well, that all changed the day that we drove up. We had snow every night and most of the days… for this, we were not prepared. We checked all around to get jackets for our 3 and 5 year old. No one had them, but luckily, Mile High had them for tent, and at very reasonable prices.
We got to the store near closing on a Tuesday and were quickly helped with the jacket rentals and glove purchases. These guys are great, specializing in cold-​weather gear for small kids, they pulled down the correct jackets the first time, so no need for a lot of back and forth.
This place was great and we will definitely be back next time we are in Big Bear.

This place is awesome. Had exactly the random part we needed and swapped it out on the board in 10 mins. Definitely recommend for anyone needing snowboarding or skiing gear or maintenance!

Totally saved the day with all the binding parts that I managed to break for an amazing price. A++++ great staff. saved the vacation!

After debating where to rent a snowboard on the way to Snow Summit we randomly stopped here and quickly scoped it out on Unilocal.To our surprise there were an overwhelming number of positive reviews, and after walking in, we quickly discovered why!
Since it was mid-​week there was only one guy working and we were instantly greeted and asked if there was anything we needed help with. The staff here (really just the one dude that day) was very knowledgeable, patient, and gave some great advice.
I’d heard about «duck» stance and asked him to set my board up like that because I wanted to practice switch but he actually persuaded me against it. I told him I trusted him to set up the board how he’d ride it and dayum! It felt amazing! At the end of the day I found out it was 15degrees up front and –8 degrees back (I think). Perfect setup!
All the rental boards and skis are ‘Head’ brand. I didn’t even know ‘Head’ made snowboards and at first I was really nervous the rental boards were going to suuucckkkkk but you know what? It was seriously amazing! I just went to Mammoth and rented a burton board and it was garbage. (Note: obviously not all Burton boards suck but this is a bottom tier rental board)
The Head Trudent R board here, is a camber board with lots of pop and held an edge extremely well. It was also really stable going straight which the mammoth burton was not.
I could NOT have been happier with my experience here! I got a Unilocal check-​in offer of 10% off which was a nice bonus!
If you’re renting, definitely come here! It’s close to Snow Summit but it’s way more convenient and friendly and efficient IMO.

Rusty helped us today. Best customer service ever. We came in looking to print our lift tickets and they helped us no charge! Friend also rented boots from them, they are very helpful. Fast, efficient, friendly. Definitely recommend!

People here are nice! We just called them up to extend our rent for another day! Its so easy! I recommend this place. Prices are also affordable!

My family and I just came up to Big Bear and of course we forgot the most important thing… Snow gear! We found Mile High and had the most amazing experience! Rusty was awesome help! Mile High is also the ONLY place in town that has toddler gear. They have a large variety of snow gear and rentals! I will always recommend Mile High for all snow needs! Thank you so much MILE HIGH! We will be back soon!

To be more specific, the whole rental process probably only took 10 mins. There wasn’t a line when I arrived (around 10am?) Also I loved that the boot rental they have are the better type of boots with easy tighten technology by turning a dial instead of old fashion shoelaces. I would come back for the boot rental.

The most convenient shop around. Accessible from snow summits over flow parking so you park walk in rent then hop on the shuttle that takes you to the resort (no need to try to load all your ski and board rentals and friends in your car and thrash it). Right next to the grind and grill restaurant (909)866−5219 that will take togo orders (i call mine in to save extra time. I get the breakfast burrito with bacon sausage and ham $ 10 feeds 2 easily and is excellent). The equipment is very well taken care of the staff is as friendly and helpful as they get and they have great deals on apparel. Also as a added bonus the rentals here are about ½ the cost of renting at the mountains and doesn’t take hours. Highly recommended!!!

Mile high sports is great place to shop your winter gear. Nice staff with great items. Great price and they carry all sizes from toddlers to adults. Very friendly and they know how to take care their customers. Thank you Mile high!!!

Customer service can make or break any experience at a snow gear rental store… Our experience with this store was made by the ability of the staff to make us feel welcome, warm and like family. We got to meet daisy the pit-​bull, talk to the owners about Mt life and fitted with gear that was leaps and bounds above snow summit rental gear! Gear looked and felt new.
We purchased board jackets too and was given a great discount. I know there are lots and lots of gear rental shops to pick from in BigBear city. I would have to say that most of them would not give you the service and treatment we received. I am recommending this store to all my friends.
