I do enjoy the variety of oatmeal. The food is delicious. However, today I ordered my breakfast to go at 9:21 am, and I did not receive it until 9:46 am. It was berry almond Swiss oatmeal and sausage, so it was not a difficult order. When I have eaten inside the restaurant, I have received my order on time. The problems I have encountered have been when I ordered food to go.

Takes forever for them to refill drinks, asked them to refill the tea and it takes almost 15 minutes for them to refill, and this is after constant reminders

Breakfast is ok. The commuter is tasty. Buy the service is just dreadful in the mornings. 15 – 20 minute wait for a breakfast sandwich. Their processes are poor. Tons of staff running in circles. No one seems to know what they’re doing.

I have been frequenting this place for many years and have finally lost my patience with the poor management, lousy customer service and terrible coffee.

Good coffee. Good prices. Great for breakfast and lunch. They are big on avacodoes right now they put them in everything. Salads and breakfast sandwiches. This location has a small car show on Saturday mornings. It’s very cool. Love the hazelnut coffee and they have it everyday.

I’ve eaten at several CB locations in several states and the food has always been good, but we stopped at this location for the first time yesterday and I was disappointed. I ordered a sandwich that was okay and my husband said his salad was good, so that is why I give them two stars. However, I ordered their chicken creamy pesto pasta dish and it was a disaster. First of all, every CB location where I’ve ever ordered that dish has served it exactly the same, and that is, exactly as it is described in the menu. This location in Bethesda, however, went off the grid. First, they brought me the dish with a whole bunch of bacon sprinkled on top and I despise bacon. They took it back and brought it out again with peas in the sauce but worse, with hot pepper flakes in the bread crumbs. Since I was sharing it with my kids I had to send it back because the flakes were too spicy. The third time they brought it out they didn’t include the bread crumbs(which was fine even though they are part of the dish) or the peas and bacon, but I noticed that what they serve is not their pesto cream sauce but just a plain straight out Alfredo sauce. I didn’t send it back because I don’t mind an Alfredo sauce and my kids were hungry but I have a problem with the fact that the cooks basically make something that is not what CB offers. To top it off, the woman bringing my food out had the nerve to tell me that if I don’t want bacon or peas or the pepper flakes in my food I have to specifically tell them that when I order my food. I showed her their menu — which specifically describes the dish as pasta with pesto cream sauce, chicken and bread crumbs(and nothing else) and asked her to point to me where they state that the dish comes with bacon or peas or pepper flakes. If the menu doesn’t say the dish has bacon, how am I supposed to know to ask for no bacon? Not to mention, like I’ve already said before, I’ve ordered this dish dozens of times at several locations across the US and it has always been served without bacon(or peas or flakes and with a pesto cream sauce and not Alfredo). The woman acted nice at the end which is also why I give this place two stars but I can’t believe they didn’t have a manager come over and apologize for the fact that they had to make my food three times and just kept us waiting. I will also say that their cinnamon cream cake tasted kind of dry at this location.

A friend and I stopped in this morning for coffee/tea and a quick bite to eat. Today was my first, and hopefully last, visit to this location. Let’s just say, the general atmosphere was not super welcoming. Most of the staff seemed annoyed with the presence of customers and each other. Not sure if she was new, but the poor cashier was struggling and ended up ringing up the wrong drink for my friend. That being said, our food and drinks were good, and the café seemed clean. I feel like the whole atmosphere would change if they placed more emphasis on customer service. I recommend reading«The Ice Cream Maker» by Subir Chowdhury…

As someone who goes to this Corner Bakery two times per week most weeks, it’s surprising that i have a love/hate relationship with the place. I go so often because I am a consultant who needs to get out of the house and work elsewhere occasionally. It’s extremely comfortable for working and the coffee is good. I also enjoy some of the food, but it’s very inconsistent. Sometimes super good for a chain, other times, the food is not fresh or the order is wrong. One of the managers is very friendly and helpful, the other is an unfriendly, unhelpful wordless sourface. I like the Anaheim scrambler, the Swiss almond berry oatmeal, and several of the salads, but only on «good days.» Some days I ask myself why I go back, and basically the answer is that it is very comfortable, convenient, and occasionally good. I guess I am too complacent to find another place.

Have been to many Corner Bakery locations, all have been pretty consistent and good value for portions and food quality. First time at this location and most likely will not return although convenient to my office. I ordered the Anaheim Scrambler to go, and expected it to be the same dish as it has been on previous occasions. What I received looked like someone’s leftovers. While I’m sure it wasn’t, that best describes the size and presentation of the food I received. There were maybe 5 fork-fulls worth of food where normally a full dish would be. The avocado had started to turn black, meaning it definitely was not cut fresh that day, in two small slices… one with the stem unremoved. No potatoes on the side were received. Highly disappointed in the«meal» I just paid $ 10 for.

This location is near my auto dealer so i have breakfast while the car gets serviced. I have probably done this for ten years. But the mistakes have become more frequent, and looking at other reviews, my experience is not unique. Today I tried the new avocado spinach power flat. The flatbread is very small, about two bites worth, the eggs were unseasoned and not warm, but the major offender was the unripened avocado slice. The few spinach leaves looked like they were out of a package. The other dish for my wife was the farmer’s scrambler with not much flavor except potatoes that were too salty. In this breakfast category there are better options.

After reading the reviews it seems most people seemed unsatisfied with Corner Bakery during busy times. This place does get packed at times which is when things tend to go wrong. It’s busy for a reason the food is good for the price and generous portions. I love this place it’s the best Corner Bakery that I have been to and it has a neighborhood feel. I love the breakfast scramblers and panini. The bacon is yummy. Big Al’s chili, the pastas and salads are all good choices. Things can get hectic at times but would you feel confident about a place that is empty at peak dining times?

A very unusual eating experience today. Lucky the manager rectified the error. I asked the cashier for one small scoop of their DC chicken salad, no bread. I was charged $ 11.99. I realized that she charged me for a quart instead of a scoop or side salad. When I questioned the price, the cashier told me that a quart contained 2 scoops. Still the price was steep. I waited for 20 minutes for my lunch!!! The ladies I was eating with all had their meals and we’re almost done when I received a large plate with 6 large scoops of the salad. OMG!!! The plate had enough salad for half a dozen hearty eaters. Lucky the manager apologized and brought me a scoop of the salad with a piece of bread and 3 gift certificates for $ 5 each. It gave us all a laugh and turned out okay but what a stir I caused due to the cashier’s incompetence. Note to self: don’t deviate from the menu.

This was my favorite place to eat lunch. Not so happy on recent visits. We all go to restaurants primarily for the food and drink. But those of us that are still human need a clean and positive social environment. The quality of the food is consistently good. Only snafu was that they ran out of vanilla for my latte and I didn’t really want any other beverage. Saving on costs by ordering less? The self-serve bar and tables were all dirty when I sat down. Meanwhile, employees were arguing behind the counter. After 30 minutes, two tables were cleared of dishes, but none of the tables were wiped off. Saving on costs by hiring cheaper workers? On this trip, I had a full, delicious breakfast at 9:30AM after the rush for $ 10. You can’t beat that. The potatoes were even fresh. There’s been complete turnover recently. All signs point to new ownership by someone who is maximizing profit at the cost of customer loyalty.

I’ve been coming to this corner bakery for at least ten years now — never been disappointed until recently. The food quality has definitely changed for the worse. Seems like they just throw everything together now, you can taste that the bread has been previously frozen and the croutons for the salad aren’t even hard. My go to sandwich is the chicken pomodori panini and I always add avocado for the extra buck. My last visit here, they a) forgot it. And then b) when I told them they forgot to add it in they put literally a QUARTERSIZEDPIECE of avocado on my sandwich!!! Really??? They used to be very generous and have slices laid out on the sandwich. Also, we had ordered some pastries to go and was told they would come with our meals, nope never came. Had to bother them once again that they forgot. No apologizes, just a «here you go» and moved on… +1 star because I do appreciate the slight renovations they did to the café to make it slightly larger but I’m not sure if they are cutting back on quality service and food because of it. Hopefully the Gaithersburg location is doing better because I probably won’t be returning here for a long time.

Mark me on my words: Panera does not hold a candle to corner bakery. CB has fantastic salads, sandwiches, and seems that I will keep coming back time and time again. The consistency in Quality across all locations are obviously due to great management and therefore a great happy helpful employees. The Westlake location, particularly, strikes me as one that maintains top-notch customer service. Corner bakery has maintain the café/bakery feel that Panera lost and became a rushed, fast food place. Corner bakery, hands down, has the best chopped salad I have ever had. Chris, fresh romaine lettuce, chopped green onions, chopped tomatoes, Bacon, blue cheese, avocado, eggs, chicken, come to mama.

I had never eaten at Corner Bakery before. I got a lean breakfast sandwich. It was cheap, but also smaller than I expected, but it got the job done. I thought the apple sausage that was in the sandwich was very flavorful and was pleased with the taste! This shop had a lot of seating and would be a nice place to get some work done while having a nice breakfast/snack.

I came here to eat lunch and study with a friend. I read that Corner Bakery was Panera’s fancy cousin, but uh, whoever said that def. used the wrong adjective. This place is BUNK. Oh, Panera, I’d choose you over CB any day! Let’s start with the food. I got a Four Berry Smoothie(with a yogurt protein boost) and a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup. The soup was the WORST soup I’ve had in ages. It was SO effin’ salty that I was drinking water like a FISH for the entire night. It literally dehydrated me, ha. The smoothie was straight up gross. It had CHUNKS of ice in it. Super unpleasant for sure. On top of it all, the wifi SUCKS. Don’t come here to study. You connect, and it takes 10 min. to load a page. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Overall terrible service, disorganized staff, and cold food. I ordered a bacon & cheese flatbread and received a cold bacon and cheddar cheese flatbread. The Cheddar was hand ripped and placed on top of bacon. I posted a photo so please see. I would not recommend this place at all.

I have eaten at Corner Bakery many times and it is a pretty good place to dine. I little bit more expensive than a deli but nice and fresh ingredients. I really do enjoy their chicken salad on rye. Lots of chicken chunks, celery, apples, currents, red onion all on rye bread($ 7). Comes with a pickle and chips. YUM! Mac and cheese topped with toasted bread crumbs($ 7/$ 8). Delicious! My first time at the Montgomery Mall location and since I was on a low-carb kick, I ordered the chopped salad. It came with sliced chicken, bacon, avocado, blue cheese, tomatoes and green onions. When I ordered, the young lady behind the counter asked me which size I wanted. I wasn’t sure and she brought out both bowls to show me. Of course, I chose the entrée over the café since it was just $ 1 more. Maybe I am just used to giant salads. I was disappointed that for $ 9 I had a small bowl of salad. It was delicious and fresh(well, the avocado was bruised). I enjoyed eating the whole thing except for the roll because it was a carb. Maybe if I had eaten the roll, I would have been satisfied. Great coffee($ 2).
