My wife and I were big fans of Reston Kabob before it closed, and we’d drive 45 minutes just to eat there a couple times a month. Then we found out the same franchise has a Montgomery Mall location, so we started going there when we had our kabob cravings. In my opinion, Grill Kabob is the best Mediterranean food in the area. The Reston location was fantastic. Always good service, personable and would remember you when you’d walk in the door. But I’m only giving this location three stars because of their poor customer service. Every time we go there they seem disorganized. They are slow and awkward with handing out the orders. And the one issue that really irks us is that the manager has some OCD thing about the Yogurt sauce. You see, when we’d go to Reston, they’d have bottles of the sauce on the tables. We’d slather our chicken kabob in the delicious yogurt dill sauce, and dip our bread in it. It was our favorite thing. But this location is ridiculous about the sauce. I told them I’d happily buy extra sauce, and each time they just mumble something and give me one extra. And they only fill each container of sauce halfway! It’s weird. I’m aware of many people that are like us, old fans of Reston Kabob, and the copious amounts of sauce they provided. We would gladly pay for a bottle of the sauce on the side. Why they don’t put it on the menu is beyond me.(It’s kind of like eating at a Peruvian restaurant with that awesome Aji Verde sauce, you just can’t get enough of it!) It sounds like a silly little thing, but that’s the nature of good customer service. Keep your customers happy and they’ll keep coming back!

Great Gyro’s and Baklava! Very tender Gyro meat, fast service, and very fresh tasting. I would give this 5 stars if the prices were cheaper, but what can you do? I’ll definitely be back!

It was the healthiest and freshest food in the mall! Yes, it is worth the wait! The chicken pieces were moist and very flavorful. The beef was coated in spices and soft although the pieces were smaller than other Kabob places. I would have added another star if the beef pieces were bigger like Tyson’s Mall. A great option to the myriad cuisines in this mall!

A solid 4.5−5 stars. This place is located in the malls food court but is definitely worth the try. I was feeling like kabobs today and found this place. I ordered the chicken for my first time because if you can mess that up you shouldn’t be in business, although I must say I was really impressed with the quality of the food and flavors. This is my new go to spot when in the mood for a goof kabob. Keep up the gd work

Why does this place not have better ratings! This is so good! I’m from Howard county and was spoiled with mainland kabob for my kabobs in the past. All I can find recently is moby dicks– whose bland food is so disappointing. This place has delicious, flavorful food! Finally! I ordered the chicken kabob platter and it was a huge portion. It took a little while to prepare, but not even that long and it was so worth it. The chicken was perfectly spiced and the yogurt sauce actually had flavor! My fiancé had the gyro wrap and said it was equally good. This place is a serious must try. A little on the pricy side, but if you get a platter you WILL have food leftover and it will be completely worth it.

I just paid $ 12 for a curry plate with, I kid you not 4 small pieces of chicken in it. This will be the last $ 12 dollars they get from me

Really surprised at the low ratings here. Guys, yes it does take longer for your food because they cook the food FRESH. It is a little inconvenient especially when in a rush, but I’d much rather wait a few more minutes for quality food. They are pricey but they do give a huge proportion. I love this place and is my go to spot for kabobs in the area. Only recommendation is the staff could be a little friendlier as it wouldn’t hurt to smile at your customer once in a while.

If you are at the mall and absolutely craving Mediterranean cuisine give it a try. But, consider yourself warned that they are really slow — I am not talking about the time to grill your food to order — but rather, they don’t know how to expedite food. If you order only a side of hummus, that order will be processed in the order received, which makes no sense given that there is nothing to cook. The pitas are a bit chewey, but they are freshly made. The gyro sandwich was on the salty side — definitely not my favorite.

I love Grill Kabob. It is located inside the montgomery mall eatery. I usually get the chicken kabob platter or the chicken/kubideh combo platter. They grill the meat in front of you so it does take some time for the food to be ready. The meal comes with white and brown rice, small salad, chick peas and bread. It is a lot of food for one person, but it does taste great and will fill you up for a while.

I’m a huge fan of gyros and this is the only place in the mall to get them. They have 2 options– a gyro sandwich for $ 8.99(which is just your typical gyro) and a platter for $ 10.99(comes with gyro meat, bread, rice, salad and a side of chick peas). So. Much. Food. Like 2 meals worth. And doesn’t reheat very well :( The gyros themselves are pretty good but I wish there was a smaller, less expensive option. The meat is seasoned very well and I actually enjoyed the chick peas(not usually a fan). The tzatziki sauce is kind of weird here though. It tastes like the yogurt base has gone bad and was slightly sour. The owner is very nice, which the other employees need to learn from. Last time I went they were stand-offish and not particularly helpful. But good meat and tasty gyro so I’ll probably be back. Would like to try their kabob sometime, I heard they are good. Note– if you’ve been here in the past prior to the food court renovations note that the prices are about $ 2 – 4 higher for most items than they were before. They also did away with the gyro sandwich special. I wish they would bring that back because $ 10 is a lot to spend on lunch in a mall food court.

Surprisingly good! Looking for dinner in a mall food court, found Grill Kabob. We liked it. We had both beef and lamb kabobs. They were tasty and cooked fresh. They served both white and seasoned rice with our dinners, both were good and ample. We also got the chickpeas and we liked them. The meals came with a large fresh flat bread. Overall the meal was large and delicious. A happy food court surprise.

My favorite kabob place. I’ve only seen this particular kabob place at malls(here, tysons mall and dulles town center) and all three are consistent with their flavors! wear your fat pants when eating this. The portions are huge. Each meal comes with rice and a small side salad. The bread is so good especially when dipped into the yogurt sauce. I always have the chicken, it is always seasoned and cooked so tender. The kabobs are cooked to order so be prepared to wait a few minutes. They also have hot foods to choose from but i never had the chance to try them yet.

Solid 4.5 stars! We were tired and starving. Walked up the corridor of the new food court at Montgomery Mall at 8pm trying to decided on dinner. Grill Kabob sounded good but we kept walking just in case… but no worries because it ended up being the best choice. I was going to have a gyro but when my co-worker ordered the chicken kabob platter I decided I wanted a platter also since it was $ 2 more and came with rice, salad, naan and chickpeas. Have you ever been«Hangry»? Well, after waiting for hours at AT&T(read my review), I was tired and indecisive too. I swear I never heard the little guy behind the register say the platter came with a salad, so I asked if he could substitute the rice for salad. Ha! I am pretty sure I ended up getting a salad instead of the gyro sandwich platter but since they were the same price and he gave me chickpeas, I was happy. We spent $ 27(which is pricey for the food court… BUTSOWORTHIT!) for the 2 platters and 2 sodas. I read on their website that they use«Afghan» spices and recipes and there are located in 14 food courts. There is a wait as they cook your meat to order instead of just scooping it from a heated tray. The plate of food and the naan took up all the space on the tray, so each order had to be carried separately. Trust me. That is a lot of food! The grilled chicken breasts pieces were perfectly golden and sitting on top of basmati rice(white and saffron). The dill/mint dressing(I tasted the tang of mayo) comes in a little cup as well as on the salad greens. The naan was fresh from the tandoor and you could taste the cumin and tomatoes in the chickpeas. Seriously a lot of food. I couldn’t believe the amount of shaved lamb on top of my salad… there was so much! The dressing was on top of the meat and also came in a little cup. I was worried that it would not be enough sauce but the mound of lamb was hiding even more dressing covering the greens of my salad. The naan was really big. I thought it had a diameter of 12 inches but it could have been only 10. Either way, I couldn’t eat it all. I managed to devour the lamb and salad and took a couple bites of the chickpeas(tasty but different). The food was plentiful and delicious. The ordering process was a little confusing(my fault) but the service was polite albeit a little hurried. I will happily go back and try the ground beef, lamb and chicken kabobs. Yum. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!

Decent, nothing great. I mean it’s mall food, what do you expect? Personally I prefer moby dicks but I am a very picky eater so my opinion may be flawed. The staff was fine. Nothing exceptional but not rude by any means. Overall, you’ll be full.

Perhaps the world’s worst gyro! Odd-flavored pressed protein was dry, the sauce was unusually sweet and drippy, and the pita was cool and chewy. The lady taking my order spoke zero English and couldn’t figure out how to give change back, as if touching US currency for the very first time. And yes, that rude dude who shouted out«here, or to go?» added to the experience. Not that mall food is ever tasty, this place is not worth your precious bucks!

Nasty man at register. I was the only customer. He asked if it was for here or to go. I answered for here. I am waiting using my phone, he asks again in a nasty voice here or to go. During this time he was waiting on someone who came after me. I was awRe of this while I am still waiting for my order. I looked at him and he asked again here or to go. I gave him the receipt because I was not answering the question again. He slammed it down and started muttering under his breath. I told him to give me my money back. I think he had an attitude because I asked why the 5.79 gyro was special. It is advertised as a gyro special. I hate ride disgusting people who are in service but can’t be nice and respectful.

I was craving for some kabobs and found this place on Unilocal. I don’t know how many people go to the mall to eat, but I sure did. As you walk up, you have this man just shouting«Can I help you» as people walk by. Jeez! If someone wants to eat there, they will come to you. Anyhow, it took about 15 – 20 mins for my order of chicken kabob to be done. I understand, they were cooking it fresh over the grill. The food here is mediocre. I got 6 – 7, 1 inch cubed chicken, to about 2 cups of rice. That’s a lot of rice for a small portion of chicken. The chicken cubes were moist and good but needed a little more season. The little salad they served alongside was good but the pita bread was not so great. The pita bread was hard and stiff. I took a bite and threw the rest away with the rice. I didn’t leave the mall feeling satisfied for $ 11. I left feeling hungry.

Amid a sea of mediocrity this place stands alone. Food courts being by definition classic examples of places to avoid like the plague. However, these kabobs were delicious! Chicken kabob with brown and white rice! Fresh bread and chickpeas which were damn good. A gem, hidden amongst the refuse. No more waxing poetic, just try it!

I used to love this place when I worked in the mall. I used to get the chicken all the time. It was my go to. Maybe I just made the mistake of ordering falafel. I don’t know. I’m a huge fan of falafel, and I thought hmm… Why not try it from the place that used to have good chicken? My bf ordered a gyro, and I got the falafel salad. I was SO disappointed. First off, we waited a good 20 minutes for our food, the cashier was extremely rude and obnoxious, and by the time I got my falafel, I was confused. Has anyone ever seen FLAT falafel? It was BURNT looking as well.(check the photos) All I tasted was oil. The statement I made after I tried eating it was … How do I rid of this food from my body as soon as possible? I felt disgusting. Will definitely not be coming back. I would have given it 3stars for the chicken.(minus the rude cashier)

3.5 stars — typical mall food. My chicken gyro was $ 1.25 more expensive than a regular lamb gyro(?) and took 10 minutes to come out, which I was okay with, given the bread came out fresh from the tandoor and chicken was grilled fresh too. The sandwich was yummy and the green sauce on the side was perfect to kick it up a notch. Service is not the best really, and it’s hard to some times makes your self understood since te workers are Spanish. I’d come back again. Exhausted from shopping that is: p
