Mi Universe Nails

Wow. Just stumbled on my old review of Mi Universe from 4 years ago. So, apparently I gave it another shot and had a completely different experience. My apologies to Hope for not updating the review… I had forgotten all about it. Better late than never I guess — Hope has been doing my acrylics and pedicures for several years now and I am always pleased with the results. The salon is quiet & clean; the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. No reason to go anywhere else.

I love this place! I have been a loyal customer for over 12 years. Hope is amazing at doing my fingernails just how I like them; and holy is magical with pedicures. They always remember people and make it personal which I love. I’ll never go anywhere else.

I am so happy to have finally tried this nail shop! Clean, friendly, excellent service and good prices. My feet are very sensitive nerve damange) and a pedicure is usually torture for me. Holly did a perfect job and I will definately be back! As one of the other reviewers mentioned, don’t let the lack of a crowd deter you from trying them out. The only reason I didn’t give 5 starts is because of the lack of color selection. They have a lot of reds/​dark colors but that’s about it.

Very clean, well-​ventilated with nice chairs and really nice staff. Don’t let the lack of a crowd scare you away.
The owner Hope will most likely be the one doing your pedicure or she will at least be there. If you have the chance, ask for her. They do a great job overall but I’ve never had my nails and toenails feel so smooth! It’s my second time back and I don’t think I’ll go anywhere else in town! My only negative comment is that besides reds, their color selection is a little more limited than others in town. But if you like red there are probably 20 to choose from! :)

I’ve found a new place for a good mani/​pedi! I don’t indulge that often. But, when I do I like to find a quiet, clean and friendly place to go. Mi Universe meets all my requirements. Hope and Holly were so sweet and did a great job. I can’t wait until next time. :) The massage chairs are new looking.

I liked going there because they would razor scrape my feet. I had a problem with a toe once, but gave it another try. The older woman did my toes, and she dug and did something to my toe, causing great pain for over a week. I ended up having surgery to cut out a piece of my toe and nail! Won’t go back!

Great nail place! I started getting my nails done here regularly recently, & this will be my 3^rd time getting my acrylic nails filled here. They do a great job and honor scheduled appointments unlike other nail places I’ve been to. In addition, they are friendly and do a beautiful, thorough job on nails. I’ve gotten pedicures here also, which were great as well-​can’ t complain. I wish they had more nail color options, however.

Excellent nails, & excellent service. My mother & I have been going here for well over 2 years now. Hope & Holli always do a wonderful job & always give us EXACTLY what we’ve asked for. The nail polish always lasts much longer than anticipated, especially on pedicures. Everything is clean and sterilized, and they have ALWAYS answered the phone whenever we have called.

I have been going to Hope since she was at Raley’s shopping center back in the day! I have always had a great experience here. They are clean, gentle, and the mani/​pedi last awhile! I usually get the regular mani with spa pedi, and I feel fabulous! It’s not a spa, but you’ll feel good after your done.
They are a little shy but Hope is so funny, sweet, and always accommodates my appts. She is on time and doesn’t take two hours like another nearby place. Her sister Holly is good too! They used to have other people work there that have been mentioned in other reviews, but they don’t work here anymore. You are in good hands with Hope and Holly!
As a long time customer, I would recommend coming here! Enjoy!

Very disappointing. I saw on their website that gel is $ 20 and therer was a $ 5 coupon so I was exited but I got there and had nothing but problems. First while clipping my nails the older lady doing it clipped my cuticles to far and made THREE of them bleed. Then she was going to start painting and went to get the machine to dry them which caught fire BoTH times she tried turning it on. After realizing the cord was broken she told me they would try it with the machine built into the table which took a long time to dry them. Once they were painted she spent about 20 minutes cleaning off all the paint that had gotten onto my cuticles and fingers. In
Total I was there for TWO hours! Just fr a gel manicure. When I paid they charged me $ 20…saying the gel is $ 25 minus the $ 5 coupon-​even tho the website said $ 20.
And now, less than 24 hours later, there are cracks in a bunch of my nails and I’m really upset but don’t want to waste another two hours getting them to fix it.

This place was okay. I’d only go back here if I absolutely had to or if I wasn’t the one paying. I had got a pedicure here and it was done by a man that just rushed through it and was not very friendly. This place is kind of pricey too.

Was recommended to this place and heard great things Hope. Went in this morning to get an acrylic set and left a happy client. Hope was knowledgeable and personable. Will definitely be going back

I like this salon for the pedicures. Polish stays on forever; they do a great job with all the little tools and «sandpapering» off the rough skin, plus a lovely foot massage at the end. I usually have Hope or Holly and have had excellent experience over the last 3 years or more. Very nice and friendly staff always, plus reasonable prices. Also, very clean and sanitary (important to me.)

Nail Salons are a dime a dozen, but THIS is my spot :) I love the folks who work here. My gels are done well, my french tips last forever, my fills NEVER look thick. The pedi’s are heavenly with unlimited polish choices. Designs for your fingers and tootsies are only limited by your imagination. Did I mention surgically clean? If you’ve ever hand a fungus infection from a pedi-​bowl (which I have in this town), that should be at the top of your list. They are really busy, so make an appointment to ensure a spot.

RUDE. RUDE. RUDE.
I walked in on a Saturday afternoon to get a spa pedicure. Saw they had 2 spa chairs available (out of 4). I kindly asked if I could get a spa pedicure. A lady who was working on a customer (possibly the owner) looked at me with a rude expression and said «No more». It was 2 in the afternoon and their hours posted for closing was 7pm. For whatever reason they had, it’s just plain BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Needless to say, I’m never going back there again.

I decided to give this place a try. I received a coupon for $ 5 off or some such thing. I tried a pink and white set with glitter and hated it. The pink was bright pink that I found super annoying and the nails were too thick for my liking. The nail lady that did my nails was super nice so I have to rate her more than one star. I haven’t been back after I ripped the set off and won’t be back. No one beats out Lisa from Canyon Nails, she’s da best in the area!

Went in for just a quick French Manicure.
Some guy did my nails, never reacted or spoke to me once. I was so uncomfortable, I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
He did a horrible job. He cut the cuticles so close, I had hangnails for weeks. The polish remained tacky, even after a week.
Won’t go back!

DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT HAVING YOUR HAIR DONE HERE!!!
I had my hair straightened… and guess what, i’m balding and have a lot of breakage! this lady burnt my folicles!!! it will take months for my hair to even grow back!
but weeeeeeeeeee… got my 300 bucks back and now i have to get a weave for double the price!
do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!
as for the waxing… trina m is right! this lady uses very hot wax!

I admit, I was a little skeptical to give this place a try with only 2 stars and two less than stellar reviews. But, they are near the house and I wanted to check it out.
So me and my little tootsies toodled off for our adventure. The first visit was in October with Anna. She was a real sweetie and was very gentle. She did a very good job with my pedicure. My lil tootsies were looking great in Green Polish (my sister’s favorite color).
My next visit was on December 12. Anna wasn’t available, so I took the technician du jour. I can’t remember her name, but she did a good job also.
I also opted for the eyebrow service, which was interesting to say the least. First of all, it’s in the middle of the room, so everyone is all up in yo koolaid, so to speak. Then your chair, it doesn’t recline, so you have to hunch your a$$ up and over some pillows so the lady can wax you. Now, she did do a good job, but I’m used to being in a special room, in private, mood music, you know… This had shades of the shop on Georgia Street that I quit going to. The piece-​de-​resistance, she asked me if I wanted my mustache waxed. Uh, hello. It ain’t a freakin mustache. Maybe 2 hairs on each side of my lip that if they were any smaller they’d be invisible. Prepubescent boys have more hair than I do. Heck, prepubescent boys would be ashamed to have what I have. I was insulted, can you tell?
Oh, and you pay separately for the was than you do the manicure/​pedicure, so you can’t put it all on your credit card. FYI.
Would I go again. Yes, for the pedicure. But really, I’d still drive to Sun Valley Mall and see Timmy at Loa Ann’s. Nobody beats their service.

Get your nails done here !! The colors they use for your nails LAST !! I’m telling you !! Two thumbs up for that !! The colors last for almost month !! WOW ahahha the other places i’ve gone last for only about a week or sooo i’m tell you gotta come here for the nails ^^
As for eyebrow waxing… ehhhh not so great. I just got them done here today and It hurts !! the wax was hot !! For all the times i’ve gotten my eyebrows waxed it has never hurted this much and stayed red the whole day…=/ I wonder if the redness would go away by tomorrow…
