Great food, prepared as ordered and quickly got us on our way. We go to the Bee Caves location, it tastes better than some of the other locations.

Ordered a chicken pot pie to go. Crust was hard and stale. Mostly soupy cream, hardly any veggies and more chicken bone than actual chicken I kept biting down on. They used to be much better. I don’t know what happened.

4 star food, 2 star cleanliness. After moving to Bee Cave, we were looking for a brunch replacement for Kerby Lane /Dan’s /Jim’s in Austin. Mimi’s popped up in a search, so we decided to give it a try. The mimosas were excellent! There was a wide variety of food. We ordered Eggs Benedict and Ham & Cheese Omelette. Neither of us are potato fans, but the ones that came with our dish were good. Both of our meals were tasty and we practical cleaned our plates. I never got my toast, but honestly didn’t need it. Service got slow at the end, which is why I didn’t ask for my toast & just asked for the check. I was hoping for that bit of jam sweetness to close my meal. Otherwise, most restaurants have the problem of cleanliness. This one was blaring me in the face. See photos. Overall, good and we will visit again.

We went here for the first time today and had wonderful experience. The food was great! The service was excellent. The manager noticed that our waitress got caught up taking the order of an elderly group of people and he came over with our check because he just intuitively knew to pick up the slack. The baked good were delicious and my salad was definitely more than I had expected. For whatever reason, since moving to Austin, I feel like the service is lacking at most restaurants we visit. This is was not the case at Mimi’s. We’ll definitely be back!

I went to Mimi’s Café with some friends, to meet my mother, so we could all celebrate a birthday. My portion size was generous, the food was flavorful, the waitstaff were attentive, and the birthday cake had lovely, light whipped cream frosting. It was a nice time, but now fast forward two days, to where it gets exceptional. I was at a coffee shop in Hyde Park when I realized I couldn’t find my credit card. I realized I’d left it at Mimi’s Café, so I called and spoke to their hostess. She identified me by last name, and transferred me to the manager. The manager let me know that my card was secure, and then invited me to come and get it. I live way on the other side of town, work until rush hour, and have to go out of town this weekend. They agreed to mail it to me, to save me the hassle of driving through cross-town rush hour traffic. It got here in today’s mail. I’ve never had such good customer service when I’ve left my card somewhere before(and yes, I’ve left my card somewhere before). My advice to you: If you’re going to leave your credit card somewhere by accident, try to leave it here, because they’ll really take care of it, and then go the extra mile to reunite you with it. If leaving your card somewhere on accident isn’t really your thing, then just drop by anyway, and try one of the muffins.

Great breakfast spot! The staff at Mimi’s are so pleasant and attentive, definitely made our experience wonderful. I enjoyed my corned beef hash Benedict, but I wish the corned beef patties were a bit more crisp to contrast with the poached eggs. My mom ordered the turkey, bacon, mushroom brie crêpe and it was delicious! Will return next time we are in the Lakeway area.

This was a rare find. Greeted by a warm hostess and offered a Cappuccino. Then after placing an order for a quiche florentine I was offered a complimentary apple streusel muffin that was amazing. Fresh pecans and apple chunks. Upon my exit I was also offered two muffins to go! Offered to me as first time guest. Wow! The food and ambiance are carefully designed to make you feel welcome and comfortable

I enjoy Mimi’s. The food is good, reasonably priced and the atmosphere is pleasant. I’ve had good service both times I’ve been to this one. I recommend it.

Went to Mimi’s for breakfast this morning and I had the eggs and bacon meal. The eggs were decent but my favorite part of the meal was the blueberry muffin.

Got to have breakfast at my favorite place today! As always, the service and food was fabulous! Daughter’s pick, she was home from college… wanted to eat at Mimi’s Bee Caves before she headed back to college. Yummy!

I have had good breakfast’s and lunches at this Café, however yesterday decided on Dinner which turned out to be a disaster. I had roast beef and my wife had Turkey. Both meals were served slightly above room temperature and my roast beef, grayish in color and at least 35% fat had a disgusting taste. The mashed potatoes were so stiff that you cut them in to cubes with a knife. The turkey consisted of three small thin slices with the same stiff mashed potatoes. Both meals served with room temperature broccoli. One waiter took our order, another served it and a 3rd delivered the bill.

There are few things that I find annoying in life, unfortunately they all seem to have been at mimis café. First there was the hostesses and the complete and total lack of common sense. How it takes 10 minutes to figure out how and where to seat us, is a question for the ages.. Had to give it one star because I can’t take away any stars. Second: server was training someone and totally messed up the order,(probably too busy trying to get a date with her from what I saw) trainer looked like he just rolled out bed and his hair was akin to either hmmmm I know I work with food so let’s just not comb it and let static do its magic because I am too stoned to care. Third problem was that there was no way on heaven or earth it takes 45 minutes to get an ham and cheese omelet and scrambled eggs. Somehow the toast I ordered went the way of the dinosaur, and when the ham and cheese omelet shows up it turned into a veggie omelet. Ordered for a family of four and all dishes arrived at different times. Last straw was flat soda and when that came it was basically bread that was toasted with a hair dryer. Definitely never coming back here again. Might try prison food instead. Might taste better.

The first negative dining experience my wife and I experienced after moving to Austin was at Mimi’s. We both took the day off of work to run errands and do a little hiking. So, we were dressed in less than our Sunday best. We stopped by Mimi’s before we went to get our license plates. From the moment we walked in, I felt, for the lack of a better word, judged. From the hostess to our server, everyone we encountered made us feel less than welcome. The food came out quickly, though my hollandaise was broken and my wife’s potatoes were a bit raw. As soon as the food was delivered to the table, the check accompanied it. Refills were never offered and we beat a hasty retreat after paying our bill. I had not and have not since been treated as poorly as I was at Mimi’s.

Diner atmosphere with good service. The food was reasonable and reasonably priced but certainly not outstanding. I would consider this a step above Denny’s for Brunch.

I always enjoy going to the Mimi’s at The Hill Country Galleria on 71W. The staff are always super friendly. Service was a tiny bit slow this time but the food is always good.

I’ve reviewed Mimi’s breakfast offerings online many times; but never went until this morning. Lets face it; not that many options for breakfast in the greater Lakeway /Bee Caves area. We got up early to deliver a piece of fitness equipment in the neighborhood and instead of driving back to Oak Hill to wait in line at Jim’s we gave it a shot. Seating was immediate to our surprise as we got in just before the wait started. First transgression for a country fella; no biscuits on the dang menu. This place claims even down to the greeting from our server to be «French-esque» so we both started with a butter croissant. Strangely, no condiments were brought to the table when they were served to us. The jelly basket I would think would be a no brainer here. For my entrée I had the steak and eggs. Perhaps a bit overcooked from my request of rare; the steak was quite flavorful. It was served with breakfast potatoes when the menu description clearly stated it came with fries. So $ 19 for a steak dish and it doesn’t even come with bread. Yeah yeah, I had a pastry before the meal. Appetizer I mean! Mimi’s charged me $ 2.00 for ONE friggin’ slice of rye bread. The wife had a crêpe number with spinach, egg, and mornay. Same taters and again $ 2 toast. At least she got two slices. We’re both used to having salsa to accompany our dishes; forget it Texans as it comes right out of a container from New York City.. So, they spend a million hours baking various signature pastries and can’t find 10 minutes to make fresh salsa. Service started out friendly and attentive and went to hell and a bread basket when she got three small tables. I had to ask for items repeatedly, and filled my own tea glass more than once. Also, to the female manager with the cheater glasses and slacks… its not couthe to scold your employees within ear shot of customers. Not going back folks. I’d eat at McDonalds next door and save $ 40.

The funny thing about Mimi’s is that the food is actually always pretty good. It’s ALWAYS only a problem with the service. It’s not that they’re rude, it’s just that the food comes out incredibly slow, every single time. We only come here when we’re not too hungry because we have learned our lesson about the service. If you come in here starving, you are going to end up really cranky, believe me. I have analyzed the situation(because I have nothing else to do while waiting forever and a day for my food), I don’t even think it is the fault of the waiter or waitress. It’s not as if they don’t put the order in the machine, and it’s not as if I see our food sitting around under the lights. I therefore conclude that it’s the kitchen’s fault. Either they have not been trained sufficiently to get the meals prepped, plated and out to waitstaff quick enough, or else they are just ill-suited to the job of a short order cook. We come here because we live in the hive and we don’t have a ton of restaurants around here to choose from. As I say, the food is actually always good and the quality and ingredients seem to be fresh. I just hope they can get their act together on the length of time from placing an order to getting it delivered to the table. Management should get some«mystery diners» in there to see for themselves what the experience is like to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait. PS: If you go for breakfast, get a muffin instead of toast. They’re really good(when they finally get to your table).

SAVEYOURMONEY! EATELSEWHERE!!! Horrible experience… I’m sadden to even have to give this«restaurant» one star. We went in for a light lunch today around 1:30 so a late lunch. The store wasn’t busy at all, we waited for an hour for food, and I’m certain would have been longer seeing as we had to bring it to their attention. As a party of seven(with elderly family members and young children), in the industry we understood it can be a lot, IF the store is busy! HOWEVER, as stated above it wasn’t, the staff were all very busy completing side work yet there was nothing going on to expedite our order. Nothing was done to fix the solution nor did a manager come by to our table to offer any explanation or apologize as to why the wait time was so long. Our server did offer some«help» by telling us that it was the chicken for one of the salads, or the burgers, or the fruit for the kids… ect ect that was holding up the order from coming to our table. When we finally did get our food one of the«managers»(I’m assuming this person was as she had a name tag and acted interested in our table) cruise our table to listen to our conversation but alas, still no apology or explanation. When walking out of the door another«manager» tried to offer some sad excuse of an apology and then placed the blame on the other manager who then in turn placed it on the server. All in all, horrible experience and will not be going back!!! Management should just do the company and store a favor and start over with management as a whole at that store.

And they had a momentary flash in the pan of success, but alas are back to below mediocrity. Horrible breakfast of undercooked bacon, raw potatoes and English muffin. «Fruit cup» consists of pesticide drenched grapes and a slice of orange. Manager did bring another order of bacon– but just one serving and with an eyeball roll. Sigh. Server was nice so 3 stats. Always settling for less in this area.

The entire staff I interacted with this morning at Mimi’s made me feel welcomed and valued as a customer, even though my order was as small as 4 of the famous homemade muffins. From beginning to end I am glad I choose Mimi’s. My lovely experience began with a phone conversation in which I placed my carry out order with a female employee who provided me professional service and even went as far as to take the initiative to offer me the seasonal lemon poppyseed flavor(MYFAVORITE). Her attentiveness impressed me and my entire experience exceeded expectations. The manager greeted me and treated me with the highest level of respect. I recall her friendliness from my past experience, but was further impressed by the attentiveness she gave me while maintaining a smoothly run operation in the dining room. She even gave me the impression that she recalled my brief but satisfying past visit. I find that very honorable with the nature of how busy our lives have become. She even offered to accommodate my birthday dessert coupon, despite it being 9 am! The professionalism and quality of the operation was pristine. I will definitely return and suggest it to others as well! The service could not have been any more perfect. Hats off to the staff, totally give them an A++ ranking but I am leaving 4 stars not five because over the past 3 visits I have not been as impressed with the food as I am the service. Something to work on if anything.
