The atmosphere is very nice, cute and neat. The service was a bit slow. We ordered chicken sunbeams and lamb vindaloo, the sauce tasted really similar and both of the sauce were really thick.

Went in with my boyfriend for dinner one night a few weeks ago. Wait staff was okay. A bit expensive than other places I’ve gone to in the area. Portion sizes aren’t that great. Wasn’t impressed at all with the samosas. They came out really dry on the inside and tough on the outside. I’ve had lamb korma 100’s of times in different places around NJ, and I’ve never tasted lamb korma like this before. It was the sweetest lamb korma I’ve ever had. I’d say it was a little too sweet. Something was just really off about the flavor in both our dishes. The only thing that was really good was the garlic nan. We’ll be going someplace else when we’re craving indian. It’s just a bummer because it’s the closest one to me in the area.

Awesome fresh home cooked Indian food with very little oil. Great service. I will eat here for sure every time I am in the area.

Delicious Indian food in a pleasant, colorful setting. We also do take-out often since they’re so close to home. We especially like the several tasty varieties of chicken from the tandoor oven.

I loved the food they had and enjoyed the place but one thing they changed my credit card 10 dollars extra when I looked up my account a week later. I dint even know if restaurants can do that?

Came here and tried their lunch special after Diwali while visiting a nearby mandir, which was a fantastic idea. If you’re coming hungry, you will definitely leave full! The special came with chicken tikka masala, chana, some other saag which I believe was cauliflower, a salad, rice and naan. So yummy! On top of the delicious food, the ambiance is fantastic. It’s a colorful restaurant with different colored tapestry and paintings. Really beautiful. And the service was phenomenal. Would definitely come back if I was ever in the area again.

Very good Indian food. Good service. Clean environment. We had Chicken curry. Goat chop, garlic Naan and a vegi dish. Do order marshland Chai tea to go with it. A bit too salty but very flavorful dishes.

Can’t say enough about this gem. Firstly, I live the interiors. It’s so classy & understated. Not loud & in your face like a lot of Indian restaurants I’ve been to in the NYNJ area. Secondly, the music & the ambience. They play subtle classical music, none of the loud Bollywood stuff. Thirdly, all this would be a fail if the food wasn’t so amazingly good. We’ve only ever had the thali here when we visit and it’s absolutely spot on! We always end up bringin back leftovers which then makes for a dinner. For under $ 10, it’s a good amount of food. I also like how the service is personalized. The manager always greets us with a big smile & remembers, if we haven’t been in a while. All the sabzis are really delicately flavored just as it should be. It’s not overbearing & spicy. Highly recommend tandoori mela!

We have lived in the area of this place for many years, and the restaurant has changed personalities 4 times since we moved here. It used to be a Dairy Queen! The previous places were nothing to write home about. This time, Tandoori Mela has finally done something right. I’ve only ever had takeout from here, but the food is spot on. Our new favorite is the Chicken Tikka Masala, which is perfectly spiced and our go-to. I also love the Chicken Makhani, which is really tasty. The vegetable and chicken korma are also very good. I found some of the appetizers to be a bit too salty for my taste. The naan and roti breads are wonderfully soft yet crispy, perfectly baked in the tandoor. Lots of vegetarian options too, which is a nice change of pace. The service is always friendly and helpful. The restaurant does always seem empty when I pick food up, but I hear they get lots of lunch traffic during the week. And the prices are very reasonable! If you like Indian food, definitely give it a try!

Our go-to take out. Not perfect but good enough :-) I like the chicken tikka Masala is what we usually get and it’s pretty good. The ambience is good for a casual night out

We came in a Sunday for lunch on our way from NYC to Ohio. We were happy to see parking was no problem. There is no lunch buffet like Indian restaurants are usually known for. However, they did have some good lunch specials that made me feel like I wasn’t missing out on anything. I ordered chicken makhani(basically butter chicken). I love a good chicken makhani because, gosh darn it… I’m American(my Indian husband makes fun of me for loving the dish Americans typically love). All that to say, I’m typically disappointed, and I was not at all here. It was delicious. I got the platter instead of the entrée(lunch special), so it came with lentils, a salad, rice, naan, and some kind of delicious vegetable thing. All good and satisfying. My husband got the biryani, and he enjoyed it. None of it was spicy, but it did have good flavor. We also had mango lassi, and it was delicious and unlike any other lassi I’ve had before. It was infused with some type of rose water or something. I have no complaints. The décor was unique and tastefully done. I loved it. The waitresses were great and friendly. I would come back if I could.

Nothing special about this place except that they kick you out early. Went here on a Friday night to catch up with a friend. I saw on their website they were open until 10 so I thought we had more that enough time to talk. We got our meals and though the sauces were good, the chicken was rubbery and disgusting. There were a few other people enjoying dinner when they turned off their«open» sign at 9. I thought that was weird but they refilled our water glass so we stayed. Then a little bit before 9:30 they turned off the lights! When I got home I double checked and their hours are listed as open until 10pm. Next time we will have to go elsewhere.

I went here for lunch, the staff was friendly, polite, and service was fast. I ordered the lunch shrimp platter, and I like how it comes with veggies of the day, rice, and choice of naan. The shrimp curry was spicy but full of flavor, and each veggie was really great as well, especially the curried cauliflower. $ 12 and I thought was a great value for all that you are getting. Will definitely go back to get some more!

We love this place. Been many times for lunch and dinner and it’s always good. It’s a small clean place with a very friendly staff and delicious food. Amazing $ 8 lunch specials that leave you completely satisfied and a bit too full if you eat it all like I do. See my picture. And the fresh naan! Yum… I read a couple reviews they weren’t good and I wonder if they were really at this restaurant! It’s a super place and I highly recommend it…

Roti and naan fresh from the tandoor, unsweetened chai, a bright and quiet place, fast friendly service and low prices make Tandoori Mela a home run for lunch. The lunch veg special for just $ 8 gets you a thali-style metal tray with dal, cauliflower curry, a bit of dry lettuce, a lot of plain white rice, 2 huge pieces of naan or roti AND your choice of sauced paneer(mild white cheese). For $ 9 you get all the same but chicken instead of paneer. Only downside — such a first-world problem, a complaint that’s right up there with«this fish is too fresh» — is that they give too much food! Two minor suggestions for improvement are both about heat: A cup of chai(tea with milk and spices) came with sugar on the side, that was a nice touch, but it wasn’t hot enough argh. And my Karahi Paneer(cheese in tomato onion garlic sauce) was wonderfully seasoned but had no heat, they might be pulling some punches on the pepper. Vegetarian rating: definitely 5 stars — heck even the vegans just might be happy here. Options include channa masala(chickpeas in sauce), daal makhni(black lentils with spices), gobi aloo(cauliflower and potatoes), palak paneer(cheese in curry spinach sauce), vegetable korma, etc. etc. You’ll eat very well here. The people here say they’re Punjabi. But I didn’t see a chana bhatura(chole bhatura) on the menu, dangit, so I guess you’ll have to go somewhere else for those big pillows of fried dough on top of chickpea curry. Are you ABCD? Lol my Paki buddy made me put that in. No offense meant! He loved the food(that seemed like high praise), I loved the food, you’ll probably love it too.
