YAYY to Sticky Rice for having vegan and meat options! Perfect for me and my other half. I got the Dirty Vegan bowl with rice noodles and half fried tofu and half chick-un. The crispy chick-un was pretty darn good! It usually comes with tofu but our server said I could swap with chick-um(sweet). You also have an option of rice or noodles(soba, udon or rice). I liked the rice noodles, they were the thin kind. We also thought it was a tad dry so our server brought us some more peanut/coconut sauce on the side.(Did I mention our server was awesome?) The bowl was big so I def had lunch the next day. Partner got the Godzirra roll and he said it was good but that the wasabi was weak. We’re quite picky on our wasabi. Ooh and I almost forgot. Get the sweet potato tater tots! So hot and fresh and delicious! Our server even brought me out a vegan dipping sauce :)

I went to Sticky Rice after a Ravens game with my boyfriend, it was amazing. I found their menu fun and unique! When it comes to sushi, I am a creature of habit; I always get a spicy tuna roll, along with a salmon avocado roll but not here! I tried two specialty rolls, the yum yum roll and the millennium roll. Why? Because unlike every other sushi establishment, they don’t hide ANY of their prices and it made me feel more comfortable trying new things. The staff were attentive, upbeat, and everything came out in the perfect amount of time, can’t wait to go again!

Great menu, tons of choices… Mixed drink was watered down and partner’s beer flat, but food made up for all that. We had miso soup, lettuce wraps with chicken(delicious), sesame chicken and coconut shrimp… Very full and lots to save for later.

Decent Asian fusion place. We got the Godzirra sushi roll, Sticky Balls, mixed bucket of tater tots, and Asian pear sake. I had heard so much about the tots, and although I’m not a huge tater tots person, these did not disappoint! Best tots I’ve ever had, and the honey ranch dressing that goes with the sweet potato tots was very good. The vegan dressing, which is all about the Sriracha, was a bit too spicy for me. Very generous helping, the two of us couldn’t finish even half the tots with the sushi and sticky balls too. Don’t get both the Godzirra and Sticky Balls: both having eel sauce, cucumbers, caviar, and a similar taste in general, it’s duplicative. If you had to pick, go with the Godzirra – its cream cheese mixed smoothly in your mouth, and the Sticky Balls, while the inari(tofu) pocket dissolved in a really satisfying way in your mouth, was overly stuffed and diluted with rice. Ambience: louder music than other places but the staff were really nice!

Pretty decent nothing to complain about here, just isn’t one of those places that I would wanna come back with so many other Sushi restaurant options out here

They lived up to the hype. Oh, and they’re better than the one in DC on H street(are they still on H?) Started going to Sticky Rice awhile back and had a few great experiences, a few good ones and one questionable one. Altogether, the rating ended up being 5 stars because the service was always good and the food has been consistently good. The only questionable experience was regarding slow service during an understaffed day but that was months and go and even though the service was slower than we hoped for, the taste more than made up for it. The cocktails are also very good which adds to the awesomeness. Oh, and there are happy hour specials. Who doesn’t love tasty booze and appetizers at a lower price? Only downside is that while their prices are good, the specialty rolls are a bit pricey compared to some other local sushi spots but the rolls don’t disappoint. Just be prepares or order the regular rolls. Also, parking can be a challenge in this area but if you’re able to find street parking or if you’re willing to part and walk about few short blocks, you will be fine. Go in, give it a shot!

I’m a veteran of the original RVA Sticky and the Baltimore one holds up to the original(probably better than the DC one does). I did ask the waitress if she could tell me which ones were specific to Baltimore(the only obvious one was the Bawlmer Balls, which were delicious) but she didn’t really know. I think it’d be great for the servers to be on point in relation to the other Sticky’s. Also, not that I don’t LOVE the Goochland roll, but why is it on the Baltimore menu? No one in Maryland knows what or where Goochland is! I think the menu could be changed more to be Baltimore-centric. I moved up here from Virginia and the least I could expect is some more city pride. It’s not the RVA Sticky, but it’ll do, pig. It’ll do.

Because sushi and tater tots, fake meat and faux Asian cuisine are my cup of tea, I am glad that Sticky Rice made it into the B’More scene. It’s a great choice for just about any group of people, since the choices are quite varied from salads to sushi to stir fries… something for everyone! It has a laid back atmosphere and the staff here seems nicer than in DC… But they are also a more low key establishment here than in DC, somewhat brighter than DC. Anyhow, if you love sushi and eat only veg, sometimes it gets boring eating out. Oh boy is this place a breath of fresh air from that perspective! The rolls are unique even if they lean towards heavily using vegan mayo and frying tempura style… But wow, add in some avocado too and yes, happy with the hot hippy and avocado tempura and sweet potato Santa Fe? Yes! I like to balance with the teriyaki salad– tons of veggies! Avoid the sushi burrito… A waste of money and not that tasty. The stir fries are so typical of pan-Asian Americanized cuisine, and add in the fake meat and well… Happy vegans but nothing too crazy. Don’t forget the bucket of tots with vegan special sauce! If you feel shy about it, just go for the side of tots… Still plenty!!! Sweet potato tots are the best ones I’ve had right here!!! So happy even if it is all kinda just vegan junk food… That’s why I gotta give it only 3.5 stars. If you love this type of food though, it’s your restaurant sanctuary!

The menu and food at Stick Rice were both wonderful. Loved my vegetarian noodle bowl. And the bartender was top notch: she provided excellent recommendations of local beers and made a visitor feel like a regular. Whole experience made me want to move to Baltimore.

I had high expectations for this place, but it didn’t live up to them. I gave Sticky Rice 2 stars because the experience was below average. I would have given it a 2.5 if I could because the service was pretty good. I felt like the sushi was forgettable and there wasn’t enough fish in the roll… too much filler. The edamame was good, but that’s pretty hard to mess up. The drinks were okay, but could have used more alcohol. I might go back again to give it a 2nd chance, but we will see.

I stopped by here a couple weeks ago to grab dinner with a girlfriend. I’m usually quite wary of asian fusion restaurants so went in with limited expectations, but was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Asian garden salad($ 12), which comes with shrimp over mixed greens, tomatoes, carrots, red peppers and toasted almonds with lime wasabi vinaigrette. Although the portion was on the smaller end, I was quite happy with my salad. The greens were fresh, the shrimp was juicy and well-seasoned, and the dressing was personally my favorite component of the salad — strong(quite spicy with the wasabi) and flavorful, just the way I like it. Service was efficient and polite, and they were pretty fast at bringing out our food. Overall, the food/experience wasn’t stellar, but I would be happy to go back to try other things!

I’ve been to this Sticky Rice location several times. I’ve sat inside, outside, and dined there on week nights and weekends. THEGOOD… –the bucket of tots is a must order –very vegan and vegetarian friendly –have been seated relatively quickly –lots of sushi and sashimi choices –prices are ok THEBAD… –parking can be a pain, especially on weekends –service can be OK to abysmal –can get very loud, especially how close some of the tables are to each other –sitting outside is hit or miss as sometimes annoying drunks are wandering around being loud and obnoxious –water refills are very slow –paying the tab can be a long drawn out process because the server disappears Overall Sticky Rice is a restaurant I don’t mind going to once in a while, but not somewhere I go out of my way for. The food is ok, but the service is less to be desired most of the time.

Not bad at all and while I’m leaning more towards 3.5 stars, I’m leaving it at 3 because AOK fits the bill here. AOK with a strong desire to return. There are tons of vegan options and how could I pass up vegan sushi(there’s an entire section of the menu devoted to it)? Roll prices are *steep*(upwards of 12 bucks for a specialty roll), but for this kind of novelty, I’ll pay. Next time, I’m opting for one of the delicious-sounding bowls(love the noodle/rice options. Love that they will make things vegan when they can, with tofu or mock chicken options). My order: The Hot Hippy(as much as I cannot stand any likening to hippies). Not a fan, as it was anything but flavorful, no less hot. It tasted like bland tofu, rice and seaweed and not much else. On the other hand, as meh as the Hot Hippy is, the Cat’s Eye is delicious! So good, I can’t stop thinking about it. The tempura is just right, crunchy, not greasy and the veggies are the best(asparagus & oshinko). I know there is vegan cream cheese in there, but not too much as to detract from the crispiness. I absolutely loved the spicy vegan mayo drizzled on top. This roll is the jam. I’m not always a fan of sangria, but I took a chance and Sticky Rice’s is excellent, not too sweet and quite fruity. We’re talking 2 glasses good. I would have ordered a third if I felt like sticking around. We were there on a busy weekend night, but our server was accessible and all around pretty great. Atmosphere is more akin to a bar, which I like, but acoustics make for shouting to the person next to you, which didn’t make me want to linger too long. I’d probably not return on a weekend night in order to avoid the mayhem.

Sticky Rice was always on my list to try for these fusion rolls. Don’t get me wrong, my heart will always remain a purist as well as an undying love for Japanese food, but these happy hour deals are pretty solid. Things that we shared that night included: Godzirra roll(terrible joke on asian accents) Snap Crackle Pop roll Bucket of tots(mixed sweet potato and regular Truth be told, these are fusion rolls. They weren’t too bad, but they weren’t the most amazing rolls either. The Godzirra Roll had great quantity, good flavors. But nothing really stood out either. They blended well but you couldn’t taste the different ingredients in your mouth either. The Snap Crackle Pop roll was also quite interesting. I definitely am a sucker for tempura crunch topping. The one thing that made this unique was the fresh jalapeño chunks. It gave quite a bit of heat to some pieces, that was really refreshing. The thing that stood out the most were the bucket of tots. It’s literally a small sand bucket worth of tatertots. The aioli they came with were pretty tasty as well. I believe one was almost like a sweet sriracha mayo and the other was something similar to a ranch dip. It was so large in quantity that we ended up sharing with the table next to us right before they left because they had wanted to try it but didn’t want to waste the food. Win for all! Pictures here:

My friend had a LivingSocial to Sticky Rice that was about to expire so we popped over to Fells to grab a midweek dinner. After being greeted, we were asked whether we wished to sit inside or outside. It was a nice night so we opted to sit outside. There were a few tables outside on the sidewalk. No pretty views of the water but it was a nice spot to people watch. First we started off with the chicken lettuce wraps. These were really good! A nice of mix of chicken and veggies and the sauce was nomz. Looking over the menu there was things you normally wouldn’t see on a sushi menu — sandwiches and tator tots? There were also noodle bowls and a good amount of rolls for vegetarians and vegans. For my meal I ordered the Godzirra roll. This roll was under«Monster Maki» and I was expecting a humongous roll, but it was actually kind of smaller than other specialty rolls I’ve had. Inside the roll there was shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, spicy sauce, and cucumbers. A little too much cucumber for my liking but overall a tasty roll. For dessert my friend and I decided to go with the mochi ice cream. Our waitress told us that the ice-cream was only three small scoops so that we should each order our own. I was so glad we did because that mochi ice cream was delicious! It came with three flavors — red bean, green tea and mango. Overall damage for an app, 2 rolls and 2 desserts was about $ 48 — not too bad. When we originally sat outside I immediately thought to myself«Crap, they’re gonna forget about us out here!» But it was the complete opposite. Our waitress was extremely attentive. I only saw the inside for a quick second as I sprinted to the bathroom, but my quick impression was that it seemed more like a dive bar than a traditional sushi spot. Inside it’s very dark and there is graffiti all over the wall. So if you’re looking for a romantic sushi dinner, maybe not here, but if you want a hip spot to eat with friends then you’re in luck. Make sure to check LivingSocial first as I’ve seen them pop up on there quite a few times.

The night life here is great, the sushi is horrible. The sushi at Trader Joes and Harris Teeter is so much better. The sushi here tastes store bought. I definitely will never eat here again.

We went to Sticky Rice for the first time for brunch. It was relatively empty for 12:30pm on a Saturday, but as we dined, we noticed a few dozen people coming in and out of the restaurant for carryout, and we understand why. To start, we ordered two Bloody Marys. I had«the Dirty Boh» bloody mary which has extra olives and spices and my boyfriend had«the Hot Boh» which has extra Siracha in it. These were some of the best Bloody Marys we had ever had! They take a fun and delicious twist on your standard bloody mary and make it their own by adding siracha with a splash of Natty Boh. They are $ 8 each and to our knowledge there is no boozy brunch deal. The food at Sticky Rice is fresh, unique, and really incredible. We ordered and shared the Singapore Noodles(which comes with FRESH chicken and shrimp) for $ 13 and the Curry Fried Rice for $ 9.50. It was a great combination that filled us both up recommended by our waitress. They take a fun twist on Asian fusion style dishes and make them local to Baltimore. For example, their edemame has Old Bay sprinkled on it! Would have given 5 stars but felt certain prices($ 2.75 for a small cup of miso soup) were a little too high for the brunch/lunch menu. Would have liked to have seen some specials, deals, or even combos for lunch time!

Ok, been here a couple times and finally decide to write a review. Respecting the scale, I’ll go with 4 stars. There is a vast variety of food on the menu, maybe a little too much, but not overwhelming. You will find something for everyone. The sushi is great and the fish inside the rolls is very generous unlike some other places(Ra). The pictures here are all pretty accurate of what the food looks like and they have a respectable happy hour menu. Some of the cocktails are expensive but are good. Beer selection is solid for a sushi joint. Lots of vegan/vegetarian options along with Gluten Free selections. Sticky Rice doesnt look like much on the outside but inside has lots of ‘unique’ character. It is far from the traditional sushi joints that you’d imagine. It does have the comic book, hipster, nerdy type vibe to it but in a good way.(Check my review for WC Harlin for bad hipster vibe). They are also known for the tots served here. Both sweet potato and regular. The bucket they are served in is HUGEEEEE The place seems to be well connected with local artists and community featuring artwork and designs by locals. All pretty much are for sale and the décor is always changing. Tips: 1. Always be on the look out on for a $ 15 for $ 30 deal. 2. Oddly, you can make a reservation here — so do that 3. Check out the happy hour 4. Try the octopus(way legit) 5. Order the tots 6. Ask to be seated in the back room Fails: Place is kind of small, on a busy night be ready to rub shoulders with everyone. During the winter you may get stuck by the door and freeze your ass off Check this place out at least once

We were in Baltimore for an event and decided to stop here for dinner before and I’m glad we did! We were greeted by a cheerful hostess who showed us to our seats. Once seated our waitress came over shortly after and took our drink orders. She was delightful and recommended that we try the Sangria. We ordered assorted Nigiri, Tuna roll and a pitcher and Sangria. The Nigiri was sliced perfectly. Not to thin. Not to thick. It had beautiful color and super fresh. The rice was rolled perfectly underneath and didn’t fall apart when you ate it. Tuna roll was great as well. Again didn’t fall apart when we ate it. I’ve never had Sangria with Vodka instead of wine but I stayed opened minded and decided to give it a try. It was absolutely delicious but I definitely prefer the wine to the Vodka. Now let me say this again because I don’t want someone to read this and get anything twisted. The Vodka Sangria was very good. Would I order it again YESBUT I would also order it made with Wine if it was available only because I prefer the wine base to the vodka. Overall, I enjoyed my dinner. The food was very good and I regret not getting more. Guess that just means I’ll have to make a special trip back! Job well done Sticky Rice!
