Three of us arrived at 11:30 am for lunch. We ordered 2 diet sodas, 3 entrees, some shumai and ice cream mochi. I specifically asked them to hold the ice cream mochi until after the entrees(guess I could see into the future). After paying for the diet soda we found they were out of the diet soda in both the soda machine and refer holding the bottles. Why charge us when the cashier knew they were out. The first entrée came at 11:40. The mochi came, and I asked them to take it back so it would not melt. The 6 people that came after us, all got their food before we got our next entrée. The sumai came next and was freezer burned. The 2nd entrée came about 12:00. Ridiculous, when the other patrons got their food in about 10 minutes. At 12:10 we asked where the last entrée was. It was a stir fry. We were told that we needed to pick out the veggies from the what we thought was a salad bar. There is no sign to that effect, and the cashier did not mention it. My daughter finally got her food around 12:15. They then delivered the melted mochi. They did not bother to put it back in the freezer. All this terrible food for 48.00. Save yourselves the frustration of going to this restaurant.

I want to like this place so bad. Singapore noodles and sushi are my jam, so having a place right down the street from work where I can grab these items easily is a dream come true. However, the Singapore noodles are chock full of cabbage, and the curry is either too light or chunked up in one place. The first time I got the sushi lunch special(which is an awesome deal), the sushi was super light on fish. I chalked it up to being lightened up to save cost, but the second time I had it, it was phenomenal! If the food was more consistent, I would definitely patronize the place more.

This place may have good food but I will never know since I never got waited on. I walked in and the Asian dude was engaged in an animated conversation in his native tongue on his cellphone, ok, no big deal, maybe important so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. But after five minutes he still never says I’ll be right with you or give me a sec or even acknowledges my presence at all, so I left. Just as well though, since the place seems like it’s still under construction. Hammer, nails, sawdust everywhere. Come to think of it, there is one thing I can give them credit for, right next to the exposed sushi was the prettiest piece of #150-grit fine sandpaper that I’ve ever seen, so if your fish taste a little«Gritty» don’t say I didn’t pull your coat about it. On the other hand, maybe this is their secret ingredient. But in any case, I won’t be back. Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps.

It’s so confusing as to how it works and you just stand there confused while the staff stares at you and offers no assistance. Plus I thought the food was bland and took way too long for an order at the counter fast casual restaurant. I don’t expect I’ll go back which is a shame since it’s a cool concept.

We visited Baltimore many times in the past, but this is the first time we tried out this restaurant because I was in a mood for some sushi and this was close by the inner harbor area. I wish I didn’t… This was one of the worst Asian food I ever had in my life. The sushi was tasteless, and noodle soup was also tasteless. My husband even got up and grabbed some salt from the bar and add them to the soup. It feels like the owner and chef just gave up, maybe because the business isn’t very good, so they don’t even feel like trying. I don’t know, it’s just bad. The attitude, the atmosphere, the food all very bad. Stay away from this place or you will be disappointed!

Would give zero stars if possible. Wandered in because we were desperately in search of decent Asian food in Baltimore, which is surprisingly hard to find. Sadly you won’t find it here either. They have a «special» Chinese menu that we asked the staff to recommend from, as it is written only in Chinese. We ended up getting an eggplant dish which was essentially just eggplant in soy sauce. I could have made it at home. Their recommended beef dish was chunks of tough, chewy cubed beef, again essentially just in soy sauce, and too salty. Not worth the $ 20 we spent. The bubble tea was 75% ice cubes, only a few tapioca bubbles that hadn’t been cooked long enough(so was chewy and hard in the centers), and had huge grains of undissolved sugar on the bottom. Almost undrinkable. Never coming back.

We visited the Inner Harbor last Saturday(Sept 5). We hadn’t been there before but Amy came out from behind the counter to help us with our selection. My wife order Chicken Fried Rice with pineapple and I order the Braised Ribs from the traditional Chinese menu. Everything was really good. I even suggested that the Chinese menu was so much better that they need to publish it in English… HELLO!!! I mean, the food was REALLYGOOD! The portions were more than enough and the price seemed reasonable. Service was excellent though a little more enthusiasm and some music might make you feel a little bit more comfortable. Almost 5 stars… but I am a fan.

On a lunch break from work I stopped in here to get a couple sushi rolls for a quick bite on a rainy day. I wouldn’t have known this place was open if it wasn’t for the sign in the window. The cabinets were open in the front like someone took out the trash and forgot mid way to put everything back the way it was. The restaurant looked clean and presentable otherwise. The service was alright. I let the cashier know it was my first time and had any recommendations for rolls. She pointed to the sign above my head. Yes. I can read all the rolls, I was asking for a suggestion. I chose one from the pictures placed above the salad bar. The sushi chef walked around to the floor to name it for me. Maybe some signs underneath would be nice. I ordered the New Girlfriend and Sunrise. Both were very tasty! Sunrise was a little better. This place has most of what I was looking for. No saki. That was a bummer. And the staff was very monotone. I understand slow day but you should welcome the guests who do come in. And there was no music. It was dead silent with the air conditioning unit buzzing overhead. Overall I give a 3. Needs work on appearance, server attitude and music, pretty please! Food is great. I’ll be back. Next time I’ll try the stir fry.

Great place for a quick simple lunch, but at the same time they have great sushi too! U.S. The new owner will make the service better than ever!!!

Haven’t tried the Asian restaurant around this area, but the sushi plates are really outstanding compare to other dishes. It makes you feel like spending less money at a high class sushi restaurant. I would recommend try the SUSHI!

I used to go to Blu Bambu a long time ago when it first opened(around 2007 or so), and it was GREAT — then. Unfortunately, time has not been kind to this place. The stir fry bar was the main attraction here, for me. When I went the last time, however, the ingredients had clearly been sitting out for quite a while and everything looked rather unappetizing. I love the idea of being able to control your own portions in a stir fry, but I can’t imagine who would pile on the makings here, not with the way the veggies looked. The noodles were unpleasantly chewy in texture and left a really slick taste in my mouth, one that I couldn’t get rid of for hours after. The sauce I selected was hideously salty — and I don’t ever remember it being that bad before. Could it be that my palate has simply evolved in the last seven years? Almost no one here when I came in to eat. The furnishings have always been hard and unpleasant to sit in, but it seemed even more so with the absence of people in the restaurant — dragging up a chair to the table made the screeching REVERBERATE in there. Really, really awful. I actually felt sorry for the few staff that were in there, because you could tell that the place simply isn’t doing well anymore. This place used to be PACKED at lunch hour during the week — what happened? I can’t say that I’ll be back unless the quality of the food returns to what it used to be. And unfortunately, I don’t see that happening.

The drinks are what you can call barely decent, the boba is quite chewy and the tea taste like powdered milk tea as for the ice tea there was no ice in there whatsoever. Ordered the seafood udon the broth was basically hardcore msg chicken broth powder and cabbage the noodles were hard, The Manhattan roll was barley a roll a little tuna with cucumber covered in sauce. Probably the lowest quality food I have ate since my trip here in Baltimore.

Horrible and clueless customer service. Food arrived cold with items missing. When restaurant was contacted their response was, «that is the risk you take». ??? really. Would not even attempt to refund items left off delivery. Had to contest the card to get reimbursed. The food was cold bland and just awful. .

There are few places near the aquarium that you can have a $ 10 lunch besides potbelly and Chipotle, so we went there. The fried udon is disgusting with weird flavor. The rice with stir fry chicken is OK to eat.

I made the mistake of trying to introduce my friend to boba. We were hanging out around Fells Point and I saw that Blu Bambu had boba and impulsively bought some boba. I bought the taro, someone had the green tea… etc. The taro was clearly old and powdered(and not mixed well). The boba was hard and actually difficult to swallow. I’ve never had to throw away half of my drink before. This was so disappointing.

1. The food is disgusting. The fried rice tastes like they cooked it in old grease. The chicken is gross and a tad undercooked. The white rice tastes like it’s been cooked in dirty steam water. 2. The edamame and Thai tea was delicious! 3. There was a disgusting hair in my food. I took it up to the employees and they had the nerve to offer me $ 2 after trying to say the hair was my daughter’s hair. I’m sorry, but she has long hair that was pulled back and the hair in our food was short with a small curl. Nobody at our table had that type of hair. 4. Their customer service is just as disgusting as their food. NEVEREATTHERE!

I love Blu Bambu and think it is a great addition to the Baltimore Inner Harbor! I used to work in the area and would get takeout from here often and since changing jobs I miss it! I had lunch here a week ago and ordered the Vegetable Fried Rice which is a very generous portion for the price! They also have a huge stirfry bar which my friends have tried and say is great!

How is the food here edible? The sushi is certainly not fresh. One bite of a cooked dish and it seems like you’d get a heart attack from the oil slathered on your food. Orders take extremely long and service isn’t too friendly.

I ordered 2 boba drinks & it took 15 minutes to make when I was 1 of 2 people who ordered a drink. I wanted taro milk tea with pearls. Is that hard to understand? I got a taro slushy with extra ice & barely any boba. Like I pointed at the picture as to what I wanted. I wanted milk tea! Geez, Idk why it was so difficult for 2 people to figure out. It was a blazing hot day & I just wanted a cold yummy drink that would be easy to drink; not a drink that I have to monitor for ice with the potential of scratching my throat. Once I got my drink I looked at the bottom & there was still taro powder on the bottom that had not been completely blended. The taro taste tasted good but I had clumps that kept coming up from the bottom that were really sour. I just wanted some simple boba!

This place was nothing special. I would not get their sushi again, as it was boring, bland, small and overall just not enjoyable. I would get their stir fry bar again, though. I used to hit up a place called«Stir Crazy» when I lived in Illinois and I missed that kinda thing here, so it’s cool to have a place like that around. I have to be honest and state that I got really sick the day after eating here(tons of vomit), but there is a stomach virus going around so I don’t necessarily fault Blu Bambu for that. You can make your own judgments on that.
