For anyone not familiar with this store, you can always count on them having just about anything you want. Locally owned and extremely knowledgable. If it isn’t on the shelf it can be ordered. I love Rhinecastle with pizza and they order it by the case for me.

The guy who runs this place is awesome. When I walked in for the first time and he asked what I was interested in, as soon as I said«single malt scotch» I got the world’s quickest history of every bottle he had in stock. Then, as quickly as he’d started, he looked at me and said«you look like you could use a minute,» and left me alone to make my decision. I would pay extra for his kind of service.

Four stars for carrying a spirit that BevMo doesn’t. I’m so glad there are local businesses that can meet needs that chain stores fail to. I was looking for Herbsaint, which is an absinthe substitute I needed for one of my favorite cocktails, the Sazerac. Herbsaint is made in New Orleans and can be difficult to find so far away from the Big Easy. Luckily, Westchester Liqours carries it and I’m able to enjoy my Sazerac in the comfort of my own home. If you’re looking for a one-off spirit or liquor that the chain store employees have never heard of, call ahead and they might carry it. You might be pleasantly surprised.

This place is great. Fantastic selection of craft beers and independent. Great to support a local business, especially when the prices are very good. Go find something new and get all your favorites here.

Incredibly, incredibly rude cashier. My husband and I went in to look for wine for a family dinner and he refused to sell to my husband with his ID because I had not brought my ID into the store. Although I’m in my 30’s he saw me helping my husband choose a wine and thus refused to sell to us. Also over priced and small selection of beers. Not going there ever again because of how disrespectful that employee was.

Customer service is alive and well at Westchester Liquors! The gentleman who owns the business is extremely personable and is always happy to assist you in making a fine wine/spirits selection. I don’t have the opportunity to shop here frequently but I’m always happy when I drop by. This place is old school, small and well maintained. A small gem in a sea of retail indifference!

Limited craft beer selection and the elderly fellow behind the counter was rude to me as well as my father who is elderly himself. A very bad impression for my first time there that definitely did not warrant a return visit especially when gm is just across the street and they are cheaper and cordial to their customers.

Westchester Liquors would have had a 5* review about six years ago. Lately, it seems the competition is just blowing them(and other small well-stocked liquor stores) out of the water. Add in Costco’s wide selection of booze, and it doesn’t even compare. Prices are liquor store standard. But it’s their selection that draws me in. They tend to carry items other places do not. But with BevMo entering the picture, and Costco continuing to expand I just don’t see myself going here as regularly as I once did. Mostly due to convenience. Definitely check out Westchester Liquors if you’re searching for something special.

This place has a really impressive selection of craft and import beer. Please Bakersfield, help this place stay in business. Found Sam Adams double bock here… that’s crazy. They have stuff I can’t find at BevMo or Whole Foods in Fresno and for better prices. Every time I’m in Bakersfield I come here to stock up.

Liquor Store is great. Good selection, especially for Bakersfield. Coffee shop is not so great, the girls are rude, and uninformative.(this is after two trips through the drive through, i was hoping the first incident was a fluke) So if I’m looking for something special, I’m there. But if I want coffee, I’ll get out of my car and walk into Dagny’s.

Great selection of wine and beer. Don’t expect fancy but do expect to be surprised. Ask for Bill, he is very wine savvy and the beer selection is very good. If you can’t find it there then go across the street to GM Liquor or Imbibe.

Westchester Liquors is not a large store, but it is packed full of an eclectic mix of specialty alcohol products. It is located in a red brick building tucked away behind The Filling Station on the Northeast corner of 24th and F Street. The parking lot is miniscule, but there is some on-street parking available, too. If you’re into craft beers, this is definitely the place to come. I picked up a banana bread beer I’d been fantasizing about ever since I saw it on a friend’s Facebook page. I also picked up Young’s Double Chocolate Stout, and a Belhaven Scottish Stout. Yes, I like my beer dark and full of flavor, and this liquor store can keep me going for quite a while. I also picked up a bottle of 360 Glazed Donut flavored vodka just as a novelty. I was impressed with the selection both because if was Bakersfield and because it is such a small store. I’ll definitely be back when I have more time to browse and explore. The shelves behind the counter run down the entire wall and stack up so high I don’t think I could reach the things on the top shelf by myself. Who knows what treasures can be found there?

Great selection of domestic and import micro & craft beers. Always good for a Erdinger or Alaskan Smoked Porter. If Country Club is out Westchester will have it or vise versa. Either way its a solid liquor store with a very friendly staff that knows its stuff. Sure wish someone would figure out how to get Yuengling here in CA.
