I love Lalos! They have the best green chicken enchiladas. My family and I are always there and it never disappoints. Highly recommend this place if you want good customer service and some authentic Mexican food!

I love Lalo’s. This family restaurant has great-tasting authentic mexican food. It is owned by a great family that provide great customer service. My family and I go there at least once a week. We enjoy the wet burritos, green chicken enchiladas, the menudo, and the Pollo a la Mexicana for dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I am so happy to have discovered this hole in the wall although I must say, its outer appearance leaves much to be desired initially. This happened to be a place I discovered not by chance, but inevitably, by friend/local recommendation. I had a shrimp cocktail on my first visit, a quick to go order I placed for lunch… Much to my delight, it was stupendous which prompted me to pay the place a more formal dinner visit with my husband. He had the ‘pescado veracuzano’ — a tilapia dish with the fish smothered in a delectable tomato, onion, bell pepper red sauce served with rice and beans. I had the Chile relleno. I must attest that both were delectable. We have been back a few times because the quality of the food is just plain good. Where I do feel free to deduct a star is based upon the location, customer service(apparently they let the food speak for itself — don’t expect to be delighted by wait staff), and small observations(such as the fact that they don’t have fountain drinks… You must purchase each beverage separately, individually). Also, one night we showed up a full half hour before closing time only to find staff shutting down and hosing down the front before informing us that they were«closed». Overall, food speaks for itself and it is good. Try it. To go.

LOVETHISPLACE! Family and I have been going for years and have never been disappointed. It does get crowded, but to me that is good sign :) and prices are fair. We recently moved but still stop by when we are in the neighborhood.

Authentic Mexican food! The best plate is the Camarones a la diabla(shrimp in a red spicy sauce) I have gone to many sea food restaurants and I keep coming back for this particular plate the Al pastor tacos are good.

Ever since grandma past, there hasn’t been real good Mexican food. Now that I have found Lalo’s, I feel like I’m back at grandma’s table. Thanks guys for being as hospital as any family. Your food is the best, and your service is even better.

Been living near this place for a decade and just recently tried it. Not disappointed. We went for breakfast on a wknd and it gets packed mid morning. We areived at 9 am and it was only us and one other diner. The machaca was made to order. Usually ot sucks at other restaurants but here I asked if they’d add a bit of salsa so it wouldn’t be dry. It was delicious. Cooked with onions and peeppers. Yum! I also requested potatoes instead of rice and they happily substituted it. The coffee isn’t delicious… so I order juice(fresh squeezed but pricey!) Or I order water. The menudo is pretty good too. Served to order. With hominy or without. Hominy only for me, thank you! Served with all the needed spices, chili and lime. Mmm The cocido is great as is their chicken soup. Other food items aren’t bad(Mexican style shrimp cocktail is great) but I mostly order their breakfast. We love the chilaquiles, chorizo n egg, machaca, and huevos a la Mexicana. We now order to go as I only live a couple a blocks away cuz it gets crowded and I don’t like to wait. I eat in the comfort of my own home watching what I want on my t.v. and not theirs.

I feel like the food was very bland and blah. Nothing special, nothing stood out. I won’t be coming here again.

This is a family operated business. I love the feeling you get when they know you by name and the small talk conversation. The beef enchiladas are amazing if you like spicier food try them spicy for an extra kick. The food is fresh here and you can taste it.

I would suggest take out… The waitress sucks… I got the Carna Asada Red Wet Burrito it was a decent size, I had bigger. It was VERY tasty. I got HOT and boy was it hot for once… The salsa with the chips was good… My hubby got the Birria Green Wet Burrito I didn’t like it…
So for 2 Wet Burritos and 2 Horchata’s it came to $ 17 something, which I thought was a little pricey so asked for a receipt so she wrote one out… They charged a dollar for a refill not sure if it was for the chips or the refill on the drink. The food was steaming hot which I liked but it was soo good because they put tuns of salt because I woke up swollen in my hands and I got a headache. They didn’t seat us, they had a confused look when we walked in so we went to the counter to order and she said oh you don’t pay till after. I wanted a refill but she never came to our table and I needed a box she never came she past by 3 times never even looked at us so the hubby had to get up and ask for a box. There was only 1 other table with 3 people .
We waited 15 minutes for the bill finally got frustrated and walked to the counter and then she rang us up… It would of been nice if she explained we need to go without a bill to the counter to pay. Customer Service SUCKED… It’s in a horrible location, not sure if I will go back, maybe I’ll try breakfast…

Thank goodness for urban sprawl. Tucked in an ugly strip mall between a liquor store and sex shop lays this great Mexican restaurant. It’s your typical hole in the wall hidden gem: cheap, good food patronize mainly by locals. I recommend the chilaquiles with runny egg yolks and extra sour cream. Being an Asian chick, I can’t comment on its authenticity. However, I can give it my best FOB thumb up and double peace signs.

Jake D. owed me a lunch, so I decided to go with a local Mexican place that came highly recommended from two gaming clients(shoutouts to Funeboy & GumDrop). Both of these customers did share with me their desire to be chefs, so I wanted to make sure these two had a sense of taste comparable to that one rat in Disney’s «Ratatouille»(great film, btw!). When it came to ordering, I went with the advice of the would-be culinary students. I got a Wet Burrito with Pollo and the Red Sauce. Jake D. and I also shared a Shrimp Cocktail. The burrito was nicely-sized, lightly cheesed, and placed in the center of a plate that served as a shallow swimming pool of red sauce. Of course, I had to knife-and-fork this thing. This was my first wet burrito, so I was pleasantly surprised. At the same time, I was disappointed that it took me this long to decide to enjoy one. Better late than never, I guess. Burritos are not typically my first choice when going out to enjoy Mexican cuisine, but I’ll surely order this for take-out every once in a while before heading to work. With regard to the Shrimp Cocktail, I was expecting your standard, Americanized«dip-your-shrimp-in-cocktail-sauce» scenario. *buzz sound from Family Feud* Wrong answer. What we received was more like a ceviche, with shrimp(tails removed, thanks) swimming in a mix of citrus juices, cocktail sauce, tomatoes, avocados, onions, and cilantro. This was served with saltine crackers on the side. While this was pleasant, it wasn’t quite as hearty and gratifying as I’d hoped. The place was somewhat easy to miss, as it’s located deep within a not-so-pretty strip mall. It’s right next door to a bakery. The bakery is then neighbors with an Adult Book Store. Yeah, awesome family-friendly location! lol. The décor is of the hole-in-the wall variety, but it succeeds in giving you that sense that you’re in some family restaurant in Mexico. It’s well-lit, so it’s like the opposite of Carmen’s in old town Azusa. There’s a jukebox in the corner playing tunes, and a TV always set to the novellas.
