Excellent. This was my second visit. Great both times. Big Dan, our waiter, helped us have a fantastic anniversary dinner. We’ll return. Great place for business dinners and special occasions.

Nambie S Seems like a hateful little person. I’m so sorry you had to serve her. I was there last month and it was wonderful. I will recommend to everyone I know. And thank you for keeping loud mouthed bitter children like Nambie out of this classy joint. Maybe she should stay at Red Lobster.

I have never been there but I saw Nambie S review on facebook. I am a bartender/server so I am just trying to undo a little of stupidity in the world. So all the way from North Carolina please except these 5 stars from one cougar bartender to another, lol!!!

Well it was my wife’s birthday so I took her to Capital Grill. The décor has changed drastically since it was Spaghetti Warehouse and it a good way. Our waiter Ray was excellent providing great service. I ordered the Porterhouse and the wife ordered the Rib eye. We ordered mashed potatoes and asparagus for our sides. The bread came it 4 different styles and they were all good. We both had the steaks cooked to medium rare plus and the were cooked to our specifications. THey provided a nice desert for my wife since it was her birthday. YOu can see it in my pictures. In short we were impressed with everything. So if you have a special celebration coming up this is a good choice for it. Would I go back? Yes!

Awesome! I went for my Birthday and it was great! The truffle fries are so good. If you have a large party, you can get the private room which is very cool. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend.

I’m only giving 2 stars because our visit here was on Mother’s Day and I’m hoping they have better service regularly. Our reservation was at 1:45pm and we weren’t sat until 2:30pm. The hostess told us for 45 minutes that our table was being set. I’ve worked in customer service before and I what I always expected of employees was that you greet customers as they arrive and if there is going to be a delay you tell them before they have to ask. This was not the case for us. I’m not sure I saw the hostesses lift their heads from their stand unless a guest addressed them. They were very short and seemed annoyed with all the guests. I saw another guest approach the hostess and said they had been waiting well over an hour to be seated and the hostess simply responded with«We’re busy». I know it’s the busiest restaurant day of the year, but perhaps they should not have accepted so many reservations. Once we were seated we rarely saw our server, never received several of the drinks we ordered, were informed they were out of a salad half our party ordered, and come time for entrees most of the steaks were overcooked. The entire«lunch» lasted almost three hours. They did comp our appetizers for the inconvenience and the server was polite as he could muster but overall the experience was just shy of pure pandemonium. The tables around us had to flag down other servers as theirs were also MIA. The visit was uncomfortable and awkward. I would suggest they close their doors next mother’s day.

UUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHHH! Worst mother’s day experience of my life. 1:45 reservation we were seated promptly at 2:25. Never received my iced tea. Took awhile to get my water. Oh and it’s mother’s day, we had our 5 month old infant and their«family restroom» had a dining chair and a toilet. NOCHANGINGTABLE! That’s like a cruel joke. Maybe this place is great for dinner. But it should be great all the time. I don’t cut slack. If you’re open, you’re doing your job. No excuses. It’s now 4PM and we’re still here. Happy friggin mother’s day.

My wife and I first discovered this restaurant in LA, and fell in love. We freaked when they opened a spot in Austin. Food lives up to expectations every time. We recently bypassed went for brunch during Easter for the first time. Again, lose your mind, good. In case you haven’t been, these are your MUST eats: Dinner Kona Crusted Steak Lobster Mac Coconut Cream Pie Brunch Lobster Frittata Then enter food coma. Your welcome.

In my experience, Capital Grille has always had great food and great service. We showed up a few minutes early for our 6 pm reservation on a Wednesday night and were seated promptly. We started with a few drinks, an Old Fashioned and their signature Stoli Doli. The Old Fashioned was crafted well, but we weren’t too happy with the Stoli Doli. For such a high-end establishment, why would you feature a martini made with Stolichnaya vodka? Even after the many days of steeping and infusion of pineapple, the bitter aftertaste overwhelmed the drink. If they used a better vodka, it would be one hell of a drink. Maybe it was just us too. For appetizers, we had the shellfish platter — always cold, crisp, fresh, great! For dinner, we had the Dry Aged Strip and Seared Tuna. The Strip was excellent as usual and the tuna was done to perfection. The gingered rice that accompanied the tuna was a bit heavy on the ginger, sometimes overpowering the tuna, but, all in all was not a bad combination. The highlight of the meal was the dessert. The server highly touted and recommended the Flourless Chocolate Espresso cake. There wasn’t anything he could have said to describe the amazing flavor and texture of this cake. Accompanied with raspberry sauce and fresh raspberries, the cake just melted in our mouths. Most amazing chocolate creation we’ve experienced in a while. We’ll return to Capital Grille just for this cake! After dinner, we moved to the bar/lounge and enjoyed a few more(non stoli doli) drinks and called it a night.

Great food and great service. A little pricey but definitely worth it and much better than a similar steak and seafood place down the street. Great wine list. Loud room.

So our plans for a laid-back Valentine’s Day amounted to a total fail(thanks to Pluckers take out and their one hour wait), so Hubby and I called and got last minute reservations to Capital Grille. We showed up 10 minutes before our reservation time and got seated right away. We had been here before and everything was as good as I remembered. Service is awesome, food is amazing — the only downside is that the drinks are wayyy overpriced. A glass of moscato for $ 27 when I can get a whole bottle for $ 15? Eeks. Get the crab cocktail, lobster bisque and ribeye!

I made Valentine’s Day reservations at the Capital Grille about a month prior to the big day. In Austin it helps to plan ahead. My wife and I are big foodies and we like local good chefs. I called around for two days trying to find just the right place. I was a little apprehensive about the Capital Grille because it’s a chain(a very high-class chain; but a chain nonetheless). I was really disappointed with the local Austin restaurants and their chefs’ choices to offer a fixed menu on Valentine’s Day. That’s always a sure sign they’re going for volume and not quality on Valentine’s Day. The Capital Grille was offering a full menu. I pulled the trigger with the Capital Grille and was not disappointed. It’s in the old Spaghetti Warehouse building on 4th. We used the valet; you have to downtown – don’t be a cheap a** on Valentine’s Day anyway. The front receptionists were Johnny-on-the-spot. They took us right to our table. I had requested a booth when I made the reservation. We were seated in a nice secluded booth. I wanted a romantic atmosphere for the dinner and the Capital Grille fit the bill. It was very easy to talk to my wife – light jazz was playing in the background but not too loud. A note to other Austinite’s – I know it’s Austin and I love this town; but Jesus… you’re going to a high-class place, you’re shelling out some good cash, and it’s Valentine’s Day – what’s with the t-shirts and jeans. Have a little class. Okay… getting off that soap box. The service was great; Even for Valentine’s Day. The wait staff was very attentive but not overbearing. Note to management: Our head waiter was James Morgan. He was great. Give him a raise. My wife and I even noticed how knowledgeable he was about the entire menu and wine list. We listened to him describe several items to the table next to us. The wine list is huge. I enjoy wine but had a beer that night. I did go through the menu though. It was impressive. My wife and I both had filet. I had the 10oz and she had one with lobster and a butter sauce. Both cuts were excellent and cooked how we both liked. The lobster mac and cheese was a guilty pleasure and the creamed spinach was delicious. We never felt rushed and enjoyed our time. We’ve been to just about all the major steakhouse players in town and this one is now our favorite. We chose to enjoy dessert at the bar. The staff there was just as attentive. I had the ice cream trio. There is a salted-caramel ice cream in that batch that was divine. I could have had just a bowl of that. My wife had the crème brulee(I tried a bite and it was good). All-in-all a wonderful place. We will definitely be back. Now, if you’ll excuse me I have to get to the gym to burn this meal off. –Gene Anthes

Service was excellent but food was just okay. Ambience is all there and the staff was very nice, but not great tonight. The steak was very high quality, and cooked to perfection, however some of my guests felt the food was over salted. That was really our only complaint. In fairness to all, we arrived fairly late and they graciously served us. That was impressive. The restaurant is beautiful, with great ambiance.

First of all, they have great service. The waiter was very attentive and got our order spot on. As an appetizer I got calamari which was wayyy too much for two people but was delicious regardless. I got the filet mignon and added crab meat on top for my entrée with an order of lobster Mac and cheese as the side. Everything was cooked to my liking and tasted phenomenal. Would recommend this place to anyone!

We went in on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. It was pretty slow, and at one point we were the only table there. Nonetheless, the service was absolutely excellent! The server gave good information about the soups and daily specials. The prices were very reasonable for lunch, so it was a great way to enjoy Capital Grille without paying the higher prices for the dinner menu. My husband and I both had the special, Oscar Sliders with truffle fries. Those fries are highly addictive so I would be careful. The sliders were made with wagyu and had a delicious crab topping. I also enjoyed a cup of lobster bisque. Drinks were always refilled, and the check came promptly. This would be a great place for a business lunch downtown. Service didn’t miss a beat. Manager came over to say hello. I’m looking forward to our next special occasion so we can go to Capital Grille for dinner.

I went with a big group and we got the private room in the back. It was nice to be Great selection of wines! We got a bottle of white wine that was from Santa Barbara and it was very good! To look at the selection of wines, they give you an iPad which was really fun! The 3 types of bread that were placed on the table were good! We also got the truffle fries and they were super super delicious so I definitely recommend! We got mozzarella with tomatoes as our starter and it was very good as well. The reason why this isn’t 5 stars is because my lamb was too salty for my taste. My friends steak was super good so I will definitely try another item on the menu next time!

All I can say is, my girlfriend hit the birthday dinner choice on the spot. We had a 6pm reservation on Labor Day and we were the only ones in the restaurant when we got in. The meal started with a fantastic assortment of bread that came out nice and warm. I ordered the dry aged NY strip and my gf ordered the fillet mignon. Both were amazing and cooked to perfection. We also ordered a side of mushrooms to go along with the meal and I can say, they were some of the best mushrooms I have ever had. The meal ended with a great looking birthday dessert sampler to cleanse the pallet. Overall, the service was 100% and the meal was even better. To top it off, there was a nice hand written birthday card waiting for us at the table!

This is my new favorite steakhouse in Austin! Definitely worthy of 5 stars from service, to FOOD, to ambience! They serve PRIME, DRY/AGED BEEF! Need I say more?! It is the most flavorful, tender, delectable beef you will ever put in your mouth and they cook it to perfection. And they serve whole Maine Lobster! Unfortunately, they were out but I will be back to try. Apps, sides and desserts were all superior as well. We excitedly did the current«Generous Pour» wine promotion. And it is truly generous! Probably 3 oz x 8 pours. Needless to say, neither of us could finish it. The wine quality was only mediocre but if you are not particular, it is a super value that lets you try 8 different varietals. Next time, I will stick to the regular wine menu as they had several good bottles. I must mention our outstanding hostess, Mae! I know, a hostess? But she set a wonderful tone for the entire evening with her knowledge and cheerfulness while our server was busy. She also had our table decorated and sent us an appetizer when she learned it was our anniversary! All around, it’s the best I have had in town.
