So I love RA, always went to the one in Houston. I raved about how I loved RA to my friend it was late night and had just got off work so we came here. I checked the hours to make sure we had enough time to eat. We arrived at 10:45 pm and left at 12:20 am. Jill was our waitress she had came over asked for drink orders I ordered a water and she left without asking my friend for her order which she was having alcoholic drinks that night. She dropped off the water and said she would be right back and she had to drop off another tables food. Long story short we ordered appetizers finished both of them and still hadn’t placed our entrée order. The food was great reason why this post got any stars, once our food came out we asked for wasabi and sriracha waited for a while never came out mind you the restaurant was closed bar stools were up and we were waiting to eat. The bartender came over and helped us out, thank goodness! He was happy to help us out. If I come back I will be sitting at the bar for faster service rather than a table. We were pleased with the food and the quality, the server started to come over and talk to us more once we were closing out. The first thing I said when we got there was I wanted the crème brûlée for dessert, but that didn’t happen because the service was too slow, everybody was gone by the time I was ready for it. Even my friend said«I really want to like this place, but the service is so bad» and«the worst service I think I’ve ever had». I’d love to come back because RA was one of my favorite sushi places in Houston, hope the next time is better than this visit was. On the plus side the two rolls I ordered and my appetizer was on happy hour that I did not know about. The rest of the staff was happy as well.

I came here for lunch with a friend because the place we wanted to go was closed. And I couldn’t be happier. This place is phenomenal! GREAT lunch menu, with options ranging from bowls to sushi to sashimi, and they still offer the full menu as well. The sashimi assortment was about $ 12 and was 4 pieces each of salmon, yellowtail, and tuna. It was fresh, well cut, and freakin delicious yo. The service was excellent! We were greeted as soon as we came in, and our server was right on point with her recommendations and knowledge of the menu. We got a few more things for lunch, including the RAken roll, I think it was called. With tempura shrimp on top. Man that was good. The wings are phenomenal, and I could probably eat 5 orders of those on their own. The quality of everything was great, and they even had some great music playing. This is definitely my new favorite lunch spot, and can’t wait to try it for dinner.

Ra is a tough one to rate. It has a similar atmosphere /menu /crowd as BarChi and Maiko, though overall I think it beats both those restaurants in terms of food quality. This is not the place to go to get the highest-quality, best sushi in town(that’s probably Uchi) but if you want to go to a party-oriented sushi spot with a big group this would probably be my top recommendation. Unlike BarChi and Maiko, it has quite a bit of space inside and so isn’t as packed with a long-wait. The bar area is also significantly bigger, is on the second floor(above Capital Grille) so it has a good view of part of the Austin skyline, and offers some significant outdoor seating. The 3 stars is because, much like BarChi and Maiko, this place absolutely NEVER seems to have enough people working. My server has, without fail, always shown serious delays in getting our initial orders, responding to requests, and getting food delivered efficiently. The servers themselves have always been very nice and attentive; it is not that they are«bad» waiters and waitresses, but more that they are clearly overwhelmed with the crowd. I’m not sure why this is a pattern with all three«party» sushi spots, but I am assuming this may be part of the cause of the long wait times for a table. Also, as mentioned above, the sushi is decent, but not the best I’ve had for the price, and probably only average compared to all the sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to. They also are a bit more expensive than BarChi or Maiko, and don’t have quite as good of a happy hour as either spot.

If you are a guy with a night off and you are looking for a place to show off your 2009 era over-embroidered bedazzled jeans and your flat bill Monster Energy cap your while your girlfriend vomits into a planter, you have found the perfect place. As you look around, you will feel comforted by super classy tables of bachelorette parties requesting«only that cooked kind of sushi». You will also enjoy watching tourists from all over who came to the big city of Austin to try sushi for the very, very first time. You will occasionally get to meet some servers who are totally overworked and who know essentially nothing about sushi, sake or Japanese cuisine in general. That’s probably for the best, because the food is not good here. Not good at all. Like grocery store sushi… like a bad grocery store, that lost power 36 hours ago in a storm. Bad. Oh yeah, the rooftop deck has a nice view. Without that plus, my review would have been much more negative…

RA is definitely my favorite sushi place in town. I love the atmosphere of this location, and most importantly l feel like the quality of the food here is fantastic. I usually come here with a large group, as the open space and ability to make a reservation to have our large groups be accommodated keeps me and my friends coming back here. I highly recommend coming here during happy hour for awesome sushi and drink specials. Barchi’s prices are a little better for their late night happy hour, but I would prefer the quality of Ra and location slightly over Barchi. The downsides are that I feel every time we are here, they are very understaffed. The service is slow sometimes, even on a Sunday night when the restaurant is half-filled. Low availability of servers puts pressure on the staff and can sometimes reflect in the quality of service. Last night, we ordered drinks at the beginning of dinner and we didn’t get them until the end of the meal. There was a plate of dishes left at a table next to us and some unclean tables in the area. The hostess has to help with bussing just to keep up with things. Overall, I would recommend though to anyone looking for some quality sushi and fantastic hip atmosphere!

After reading the mixed reviews I was hesitant to come to this RA location. Their Addison TX location is great. Came on Sunday with a group of 22. They accommodated us with combining tables. It wasn’t too crowded. Waitress was great at keeping tabs separate. We had a slow start as far as food and drinks coming out but once she got another waitress to help it moved things along. They do not seat you until most of your party is there. Food: we ordered everything from edamame to rolls to dessert. Seaweed salad was too salty. The rest was typical sushi, nothing over the top as fish quality was lacking. Some of the sushi rice was overcooked. They had stale wonton crispy garnish on top of the Vegas roll. Big room for improvement is their sushi as their reviews have stated. Sunday happy hour had some deals with cocktails and food. They need to update menu as they have happy hour all day for both cocktails and food. They do have a nice patio. Overall good place for cocktails and appetizers.

A friend of mine went here and ended-up getting food poisoning which made me very concerned about eating here. Still, I walk by it just about every day so I thought maybe she had a fluke experience so I thought I would give it a shot. When the waiter came to the table he said, «so is this your first time eating sushi?» That should have been my first warning. We ordered three of their most popular specials, all of them felt like they lacked a fresh taste and the king crab had almost no taste at all and pieces of shell in it. The food was so unenjoyable that I couldn’t eat much and I was starting to get afraid that I would get food poisoning as well. That night I woke up at 4AM, I had food poisoning. The next day my stomach was in knots, I felt terrible. Visit at your own risk, if you actually want good sushi in Austin try Uchi.

I came here on a Wednesday night with my boyfriend and we were able to be seated on the upstairs patio right away(awesome view but it was way too chilly for May in Texas). Although we did have a reservation, I’m not sure it was needed because the inside was relatively empty. We ordered the calamari and garlic edamame for appetizers. Both were generous portions and very tasty. We ordered the rainbow roll and the lobster shrimp roll for entrees but I wouldn’t brag about the taste of either. The rainbow roll came immediately after our appetizers so it just sat there until our other roll arrived. Timing of food delivery could definitely use some work. I came here a few months ago with a large group of friends when RA first opened and getting seated was a nightmare, even with a reservation– so it seems like they’ve definitely improved since then. I’ll be back because the atmosphere was great and drinks were good, but I’m not sure this will be my first pick next time I’m looking for sushi.

Happy hour is the time that you must go here, beer and food start at $ 3 and cocktail drinks and sushi rolls that are to die for start at $ 6. My favorite is the seared tuna, which has such a flavorful creamy wasabi dressing(not spicy) drizzled on top and of course the famous viva Las Vegas roll is what most patrons are dying to try!!! They have a regular happy hour and then a late night happy hour from 9-close!

Two friends and I came here just before 10pm on a Friday night. It’s about three flights of stairs to get to the place, but they have a huge indoor dining area and a great patio. The ambience was typical for a Ra Sushi, but I actually like this location better than a couple of the others I’ve been to. The server(Barrett I think?) was fun, on his game. The food kept coming and the drinks were never empty. Their quality was also better than other Ra locations I’ve been to, we at SO much food! Drinks were well-made, service was great, and happy hour until close! Loved it! The one thing I would add here that we didn’t expect was a huge college crowd. Out of the 100 people probably there, there were about 20 of us over the age of 21. But the bar can’t help that, and seemed to manage the unruly behaviors well.

The front reception hostess, very petite Asian was cold, non welcoming. Told us 40 min wait for outside, took my cell number said she would page us via text. After an hour went back to check and she said she paged and we didn’t respond. Showed her my phone and that no text came. Shrugged her shoulders. I give her an F. Food was good, priced reasonable for the location. Patio was nice. Service was slow, forgot some of the order. The human aspect of the place needs improvement, food and drinks are not bad. Skip the sugary yaki soba.

I went for an early dinner on Sunday with a group of 9. There were a few other customers at the bar and I believe a few tables outside but the restaurant was basically empty. One of the employees told someone in my group to be prepared because they were understaffed. We felt that was kind of a strange comment considering so few people were there. The service was actually fine too. I didn’t feel there were any delays and they did a great job keeping everyone’s tab separate and remembering who ordered what. I always appreciate when a restaurant will take the effort to ring up tabs separately so the group doesn’t have to mess with it. I ordered off the happy hour menu and it was a great deal. For $ 36 I got an appetizer, a beer, a specialty roll, and two orders of sashimi. The cream cheese pineapple rangoons were good but the dish only comes with 4 so you might need a few orders for the table. My Las Vegas roll was delicious and pretty but I’m convinced each piece had to be 200 – 300 calories. It had all the dangerous sushi elements… cream cheese, rice, spicy mayo, and it was fried with a fried decoration on top! That being said, it was very tasty and filling. I felt the sashimi was over sauced. It was not bad but the meat should be good enough that it does not need much on it.

I’m going to be liberal with my stars as we went slightly before midnight on the Sunday after SXSW. When we entered around 11:15 pm(kitchen is open till 12) and asked if we could still eat, the«hostess» told us all the servers already went home but that we could sit at the bar and eat. When we sat down at a dish stacked bar, we waited for a while to get some water. Since the kitchen was closing, we wanted to order food asap. We quickly made a decision and tried to order from the bartender who was too busy working her computer and talking to friends. After 15 minutes, we asked the closest«waitress» to take our order. 5 minutes later we got our Edamame, 5 minutes later we have received our water and 5 minutes after that our food. The Edamame to me was kind of flavorful but unfortunately the beans weren’t steamed through which made it very hard to get the peas out. The sushi was just muddle fish with some rice wrapped around, bland nothing flavorful. The bartender didn’t even look up when we asked for our check because she was closing her bar already. It become even worse after I got home and spend most of the night with stomachaches and cramps. Not a very pleasant experience.

I get it. It’s Sunday at the end of the SXSW weekend. But if you don’t want to stay open until midnight, just don’t. We walked in at 11:30pm for last chance happy hour. The girl at the door greeted us with a «well all of our servers are off but you can find a place at the bar.» How welcoming. Found a place, and sat there for minutes upon minutes while the one girl behind the bar talked to some girls at the other end. I had to grand a random employee that I think I was off the clock to place my order. Had to grab another one minutes later to ask for a water. We ate our food next to the last guest’s dirty plates. The sushi was sloppily put together and wasn’t that great. The only good thing is an employee named Ryan. She’s the only one that seemed to notice we were in the building. Never. Again.

When I visit a restaurant, I notice several things: the atmosphere, the staff, and obviously, the quality of the food. Let me begin with the atmosphere. I have been to very few restaurants that offer the same ambiance that RA offers. I came on a chilly Sunday night and I chose to sit outside(bonus points for having both indoor and outdoor patio seating). I was shocked at the view that I had. A beautiful fire right in front of me, and the wonderful austin skyline behind me with the moon shining overhead. Additionally, the overhead heaters provided at each table and the upbeat music playing in the background created a cozy but exciting environment that was perfect for conversing with others. Lastly, I can’t help but comment on the artistic aesthetics of the restaurant. The modernly designed menus with the nice furniture and the splash of red on the décor was beautiful. Now the staff. My friend and I were greeted with genuine compassion. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. There’s really not much to say about him. He truly was the type of waiter that everyone wants when they go to a restaurant, someone who is friendly but respects your privacy. Lastly, the food. First of all, I went on a late Sunday night(around 10) and was surprised at my good fortune. I did not expect it to be happy hour so late. This is great news for anyone who wants to have some fun before the week begins. Anyways, I ordered a sashimi bowl with rice and a plate of spicy salmon rolls. My friend ordered a crunchy calamari roll and a tootsy maki roll. My sashimi was excellent, the fish was fresh, the rice was a perfect texture, and the touch of avocado and cucumber thrown in added a refreshing element to the entrée. My spicy salmon roll was mediocre, it wasn’t anything special, but it wasn’t bad. Both of the rolls my friend ordered were savory and delicious. The crunchy calamari roll was especially tasty. I was surprised that their happy hour offered so many specialty rolls considering many sushi bars only offer discounts on the basic stuff. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. I expected to come and eat some good sushi, but instead, I not only enjoyed my sushi but I also had a great time eating it. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially during happy hours. Together, my friend and I only spent $ 35.

AVOIDATALLCOSTS, unless you’re into checking out THEWORSTSERVICEINAUSTIN, a snobby waitstaff, and warm crappy over priced sushi/rolls. Two of us showed up about 3 hrs before close on a week night, and were one of 3 tables. Waiter never showed up after 15 minutes. The host brought us waters as the manager and two other servers walked past our table repeatedly, and no one stopped to help us. The hostess gave us another server, who also never showed up. We gave up, moved to the bar and then received average service and crappy sushi/rolls. THISPLACEBLOWS! AVOIDATALLCOSTS.

Well, it’s a better alternative than BarChi. However, compared to the other locations I’ve been to, service and food can improve. This place has so many servers on deck at all times(or at least at the times I’ve been, which is always weekend late nights) but somehow service is not the fastest. I do like how they get your name in order to split your checks. makes it a welcoming experience. The food is okay. Viva Las Vegas roll, just like any other RA locations, is great. Nigiri is just okay quality. Last time I got the udon clams, it was very heavy, so if you want to get full and have some flavor, that’s a good dish. But again, nothing mind blowing. My boyfriend always gets the peppered steak. This is actually a large piece of steak, but boy was it salty! It comes with rice… but just watch out for that blood pressure! It does get crowded so definitely make a reservation. They don’t seat incomplete parties… even when the place is empty! Ugh. Overall, good place to get sake bombs. I don’t recommend a lot of the drinks here since it’s on the sweeter side… but if you’re into that, you go get yourself that sweet hangover. Best thing about this place is it’s a great view on the outdoor patio(when it’s not so damn cold!)

RA has two kitchens: a hot and a cold. I only know this because our server told us… three different times. She also repeated things like«I’m hustling girl, I’m just hustling» and«You know you can just order a roll now and then another one later» «Order as you go». We heard these phrases no less than 5 times while dining here. Our server was a complete mess(drugs? alcohol? it wasn’t a bubbly personality). Our water glasses got filled up once the entire time we dined(and by another server) but she did do a great job at making sure we had cocktails — even if we had to ask the bartender at the bar if he knew where they were. Because the restaurant is still new, they are offering every table a complimentary plate of edamame(CHOOSETHEGARLIC, HOLYCRAP5STARS). The sushi was okay — nothing to freak out about. They came out timely(except for a roll of mine that was forgotten about — they comped it) The drinks were yum(get the sake white peach cocktail) and the vibes were nice and rooftop-y. I would come back, sure, why not — it’s a cool place. As long as I can guarantee to have better service and a more efficient/less crazy server. A fun happy hour spot downtown after a long week of work — just get the garlic edamame and your life will be a little better.

Meh, another mediocre sushi place. The space is lovely and the views are nice, but the food is really average. There’s really not much to differentiate it from Bar Chi, Sushi Zushi, Piranha Sushi, Maiko, etc, except for maybe the view. We ordered 10 different dishes. The only standout dishes for me were the seared tuna and the rainbow roll. The other dishes were either really salty, oily, or unmemorable. Ra does have a decent happy hour menu, but for my happy hour money, I’d choose Bar Chi over this place any day.

My friends and I met here for my birthday. We ordered drinks at the bar before taking our seats in the outdoor section(super cool btw). Two of us had our drinks while my other friend waited for a glass of white wine. I think the bartender said he had to go back and get another bottle or something. Well he gets back and then looks at her and asks her how she’s doing like he’s never seen her before! Finally she gets her drink and joins us. Luckily, our server made up for the service at the bar. She was friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu. One of my friends is gluten free so when she was unsure about a couple of the menu items, she checked with the chef for us. Although everything was delicious it was awkward eating because nothing came out together and we all ordered our own rolls. We were having to wait a while for everyone to be served. But I guess that’s probably just how sushi is since most people generally share. We had to wait a while for our check since the waitress had a large party she was waiting on that came in. It would have been nice to have someone still helping us since she let us know she would be busy with the other table. I’m sure we’ll be back though since the food was so good.

Came in around 3:30 on a Tuesday around the start of their Happy Hour. The service was fine. The atmosphere/décor was nice but not quite to my liking. Either way, I think it’s still a nice place to bring others. Nice selection from the HH menu. For 2 people we ordered the calamari, gyoza, Viva Las Vegas Roll, and 2 orders of salmon nigiri. Calamari was light and delicious; gyoza was a bit cool when delivered to our table and wasn’t our favorite; VLV roll presentation was pleasantly unexpected & pretty good(not as heavy as other fried rolls I’ve had); salmon was UNF Clean restrooms! Wish we could’ve eaten outside, but it was too cold that day. We’ll definitely come back again and bring some friends.

Fun atmosphere at this new Austin sushi hot spot in the warehouse district. Received a free garlic edamame for being a first time guest. The menu at this place is amazing! Elaborate specialty rolls that had my mouth watering from the get-go. Portions are huge and packed with flavor! I got a seasonal roll called Tuna 2 and the«RA“ckin Roll. Also highly recommend the Chips and Salsa… A tuna tartar play on traditional Mexican appetizer. I will definitely be back.

I had high hopes going in, but they were not quite lived up to. The food and service were both pretty good(3 – 4 stars), but the atmosphere was way too obnoxious for me(1 – 2 stars). The music was blasting like a dance club at 7:30pm on a Wednesday night and the dim lighting made me feel like I was in a cheesy Vegas or Miami sushi joint. It just felt so not Austin and so not sushi-driven. It was like pretending to be classy and modern, but trying way too hard. This was a chilly night, so the outdoor patio was not an option(wonder if they pipe the obnoxious stuff out there too?). On the up side, I liked most of the food, and the value was above average, especially for downtown. They have a good deal all night on Wednesdays where you can pick 4 items from a select menu for $ 25. We did that and added some nigiri and and appetizer. I liked the Zonie roll and the Crispy Spicy Salmon(not sushi more of an appetizer), and I’d order both again. The other two, the crab Rangoon-ish starter and the calamari strip starter were ok, but nothing special. The sake nigiri itself was good, nice portion size and fish tasted fresh. The sesame teriyaki chicken wing appetizer was fine, but not very flavorful. The wait staff and manager were very attentive to us and really tried to ensure we had a good experience despite a few food delays, so I give them props for that. I am not dying to return, but I am also not sad this place is here. With some tweaking of the branding/atmosphere, this place could really shine(unless that is just the signature of the chain itself, in which case, I guess it’s not a chain for me).

The service was great! Our server was very attentive and very nice, and that is the only positive thing I will say about this place. The food was mediocre, definitely not worth the price. We were a party of 4 and 3 of us ended up getting sick that night. The only reason the 4th didn’t is because she only had drinks. The food made us all sick and when we called management they offered us nothing. Don’t eat at RA. I will never come back again. If you’re looking for sushi downtown there’s another spot down the road that probably won’t result in you and your roommates puking all night.

I decided to eat out for dinner after 10pm on a Sunday night. Most businesses around this area had been closed by that time, but luckily this restaurant was still open. The restaurant setting was fancy, but also really cozy as well. The servers were very welcoming and professional. It was during Happy Hours, so I got to try more food than usual. I ordered Salmon Nigiri, Tuna Tataki, Spicy Yellowtail Roll and Banana Split Maki for dessert. The food came very quickly after I ordered, and the quality was superb. I loved the nigiri since the fish was very fresh and tasty. For Tataki, I didn’t like the sauce much but the portion was very generous, and felt full right after finishing the dish. Yellowtail Roll was delicious as well. Last but not least, the dessert was spectacular. They had the perfect blend of fried banana with whipped cream and fresh fruit, sprinkled with raspberry and chocolate sauce. Overall, this is definitely a great restaurant.

This is not the best sushi I’ve ever had, and it’s not quite as good as Ra in Scottsdale, but I’m giving 5 stars because it’s nice to have good sushi that’s not overpriced in Austin. Lucky Robot and Uchi are just not that good. LR is hipster attitude with medicore sushi, I’ve had better at Ralph’s in LA. And Uchi — and Uchi is WTF is this for 2 gajillion dollars? But Ra is a chain, so what if it’s not Austin. I don’t want my sushi to be Austin, I want it to be good and healthy! I just came to lunch, the place is empty but I imagine it will contribute to the Vegas mentally of DT and do well. I had the Sashimi combo. It worked for me. I kinda like Piranha Killer too. I had a great time here for a friend’s birthday recently. The patio was beautiful, the staff were great, and the food was good! It does lean more on the ‘roll-side’ I would say, but I still found some rice-less items to meet my low-carb needs. I particularly enjoyed the shishitos, and I’m not gonna lie — the view counts for a lot. I just enjoy patios! I’d say it’s better than most downtown sushi chains, given its location, and also the abundantly friendly staff. I have yet to try sashimi there, but that’ll definitely be my next, big test. Head up for happy hour, and enjoy a few bites before a bit night on the town! You won’t be disappointed!

I recently scheduled my birthday happy hour here on the rooftop patio and what a treat it was. The rooftop patio is spacious and faces north(toward Frank). They were able to accommodate a group of 25 people on multiple tables which is what I wanted so there could be mingling since I am not a fan of the long«last supper» style seating. The service was top notch. We had three servers, Stephanie, Amber and Andres, handling our party. They were able to keep everyone hydrated and satiated on multiple checks without missing a beat. And we were moving around a lot. They were friendly, courteous and on top of things. Let’s talk about the food and beverages: I ordered the tuna tataki, the pork gyoza and the pineapple cream cheese wontons. The tuna tataki was good, but not the best I have had. It was slightly fishier than I would have liked. The presentation was beautiful and it did go, as my friends seemed to like it more than me. I loved the gyoza and the unique wontons. The vegetable tempura was crisp, perfectly cooked, and had sweet potatoes in it. I tried a couple of the rolls(although I do not remember what they were) and they were all fresh and delicious. My only regret is that I did not see the Las Vegas roll until I saw photos posted on Facebook, and wished I had tried that, as it looked delicious and I heard it was the best thing of the night. — That’s what I get for talking and drinking. The happy hour value was great and they had items to suit all. I opted to order Mumm Brut Prestige by the bottle — as it was just as good a deal as the happy hour Lunetta Prosecco and I preferred it to the Prosecco. They have three sparkling wines on the menu, the third being a split of Chardon Brut Classic. Only the Prosecco is offered by the glass. The wine list is mostly California covering sparkling, sweet, and red/white light, medium and full bodied selections(2 – 5 selections of each). There are some other standard selections including both New Zealand & Chile Sauvignon Blancs, an Argentina Malbec, both Prosecco and Moscato from Italy, and both a Resiling and Merlot from Washington. The full wine list can be found here: They did have a clever Halloween menu with«boo bite specials» like black bat teriyaki wings, zombie and black widow rolls and wicked shrimp. But the drink offering of Witches Brew was a table hit. I ordered a punch bowl of it(think extra-large rounded goblet) with straws for everyone and we took turns trying this hurricane like concoction of Svedka vodka, Southern Comfort, Disaronno, cold sake and tropical juices with a Jim Beam bourbon float and fog. It was potent and tasty. It’s a good thing we all shared one ;). Above and beyond: We brought in three birthday cakes and they not only served them for us, but did not charge us a fee. You do not see that at many restaurants. All in all, I had a fabulous birthday happy hour on their lovely rooftop patio with quality food and great service. I will be back. Thanks RA Sushi for making it special!

I was so excited to see hear that RA opened up this past week. I had a great experience at a Houston location over the summer and was hoping for the same at this location. I came for dinner here around 9 pm and was immediately seated. Our server was friendly and served us complimentary garlic edamame for our first visit to the location. We ordered the Lobster Salmon Roll, Scallop Dynamite, and Rainbow Roll. All fresh and presented neatly. I would definitely recommend the Scallop Dynamite and Lobster Salmon Roll. The service was great, from being immediately seated to receiving our appetizers first and our rolls soon after. The environment has a late night classy feel to it. Entering the restaurant, you have to walk up a set of stairs. It’s dimly lit with red and black interior. It would be a great place to socialize before downtown.

It’s easy to get on the«stop Dallasing our Austin» bandwagon but this Arizona based chain is pretty good! RA is located above the Capital Grille. The décor is rather sexy with deep reds, black and gorgeous silhouettes. The patio overlooks 4th street and has the perfect blanket of shade just in time for happy hour. The sushi bar is unique in that the tables are adjacent instead of actually facing the sushi bar which is great for groups of 4. Everyone was incredibly inviting from the hostess, chefs, wait staff and management(who checked on customers). Stephanie was great. I ordered a 14 Hands Merlot which was $ 7 during happy hour and since it was my first visit they sent out complimentary edamame. I ordered the«RA“llipop roll which is fresh sashimi wrapped in lo bok(Chinese radish) skewers & plated with ponzu and Sriracha. I overlooked that it had spicy tuna when ordering but regardless it was great. I like the atmosphere here. It would be the perfect spot to rev it up before a night downtown. They have lunch specials, a drink happy hour, food happy hour and some incredible looking cocktails.
