Tess is a wonderful aesthetician. She is very professional, but also very friendly. She was recommended to me a few years ago when I moved to Austin, and I’ve never been disappointed.

Jacq did an awesome job cutting my hair! I just moved here and was looking for a new stylist and I feel so lucky to have found her! :)

Jacq Gomez is seriously magical! My hair has never looked better. I went to her for a full highlight and cut. She listens well to everything you say and asks questions to really understand your vision for your hair. I have naturally blond hair but as I have gotten older it’s gotten darker. So the challenge is putting in highlights that will look natural and grow out nicely. Now I have beautiful natural looking hair. I’ve had several strangers stop me just to tell me my hair looked nice :)
Jacq also sells Jane iredale makeup. This makeup is the best! It seems pricey but it will last you forever plus it has actually improved my skin. The BB cream has lasted me over a year and since I’m not breaking out from crappy drugstore makeup I don’t need to use as much makeup to cover up.
Lastly, Jacq is the sweetest person ever. You can tell it makes her happy to see you so happy and excited about your hair and makeup.

Recently made my first trip to Salon Sovay… Next Door and got a cut with Jacq. The salon itself is very charming, in what looks like a quaint little cottage and has a very warm atmosphere to it. This was not the typical salon layout full of rows of chairs, but each station was in its own private room. Jacq did a great job on my cut. I’ve lived in Austin for a little over a year and have been looking for «the one» to be my new go-​to stylist here, and I think I’ve finally found her! Jacq spent a good amount of time before the cut listening to me describe what look I’m going for, making suggestions, examining the current state of my hair, and then made sure we were on the same page. The cut itself addressed everything I’d asked for and turned out great! Not to mention that Jacq is very gentle and took her time with the cut, and you can tell she cares about your happiness and a job well done. I’ll definitely be back for the cuts and would like to try some of the other services Jacq offers, such as makeup and color. Highly recommend!

I have been going to Melinda for years now! I love her positive attitude, confidence in what she does and recommends and overall approach to making sure your hair is done the way you want and the way she knows will look good. I will follow her wherever she goes!
I have also been going to Tess for years and love her continuous positive outlook. She is fantastic at what she does and always makes me feel refreshed after a visit.

Just went to Salon Sovay… Next Door to Jacq Gomez and I absolutely love my hair. What a darling girl. She is truly educated in haircare. Even though she is licensed of course she told me she is always staying up to date and taking new classes which I truly appreciate in a hair stylist. So glad I have found Jacq because I need to depend on my stylist to keep be up to date.

I’ve been going to Jacq Gomez for years and was thrilled when she happened to also move to Austin! I recently had a couple of surgeries and I’ve been losing a lot of hair from the medication and Jacq was able to help me by using gentle color products, great conditioning treatment and a super cute cut. I love it! It looks so much healthier and thicker.
Not only is Jacq a great hair stylist she is also a makeup artist and only uses and sells Jane Iredale natural products. If you have a special occasion Jacq’s your girl for hair and makeup.

I’ve been going to Tess and Melinda for years-​in fact, when I moved to Houston I timed my drive to Austin just to get my hair cut/​brows done! Best in town, hands down!

Tess has been my aesthetician for years. I would follow her anywhere. She is priced competitively, reliable, and puts you at ease. I would highly recommend her to anyone. I haven’t tried one of her facials, but I want to!

A facial from Tess is one of the best ways to pamper yourself. She has a way of just calming you and creating a peaceful oasis in the middle of the madness of your day. She’s so good at her craft! Excellent skin care, but also relaxing, peaceful and you just feel cared for. Thanks for taking care of me, Tess!

I don’t know what I’d do without Tess (aesthetician). She’s been my go-​to for waxing for years, and I’ve been lucky enough to experience her facial services, too. She’s professional, always punctual with appointments, and highly skilled in her craft. She’s hands down, the best in Austin! I recommend her all the time. The new Sovay location is a treat as well. It’s a spa-​like, serene setting located in a convenient spot with plenty of parking. It’s only a matter of time before this hidden gem — and it’s amazing staff — are no longer secret.

Tess is great! I’ve been going to her every month for the past 5 years for my brows. She has great style and is extremely reliable. Scheduling is easy, the spa is close to downtown, and she makes it quick. Perfect for lunchtime grooming.

This is a review for esthetician, Tess. She has been doing my waxing for years, and is friendly, efficient, professional and most importantly, great at what she does. I would recommend her without question for waxing and skin care.

Let’s just say when you’ve found «the one» you know. Melinda has been my hair stylist for years, so when she moved, I moved too. Her new location is awesome and super convenient. It has its own parking, so don’t worry about circling around, fighting for a spot. The salon itself is beautifully decorated with a very earthy feel and great quality materials. You are in your own private room, so you can sit back and relax and enjoy your experience and have your stylist’s personal attention – no distractions. Melinda is ah-​mazing. She led me through many hair transitions, including growing it out for my wedding and it has always looked flawless thanks to her. I honestly have never had a bad cut/​style experience with her – she is spot on. She listens to you and will give style suggestions and tips based on how you like your hair to look. She does a great evaluation on how your hair is, and gives great recommendations for how to keep it looking its best, but is never product pushy. It’s more like talking to a friend – who knows how to cut hair like a boss! I always enjoy my visits, she is super friendly and so much fun to talk to. I would recommend her to anyone and in fact when my Mom is in town, she has gone to Melinda do get her hair cut. «Kid» tested, Mom approved.

Tess has been doing my eyebrows for years, and she’s amazing. I’ve also had her facials, and they are top notch! She’s very knowledgeable about skin and skin care. Salon Sovay Next Door is a beautifully decorated, peaceful salon — I wish my house looked like this!

I am very shy and private about my personal grooming but Tess has been SO accommodating and professional — I always appreciate this, but particularly in the beginning :) I’ve followed her to three different locations now and… Next Door is definitely the best! Pro tip: the shop is at the NW corner of Oltorf and a tiny cul-​de-​sac Durwood. Parking on Durwood is easy.

Tess is AMAZING. I have never been happier after each service. Hands down best in town.

I would rather find a new doctor than someone new to do my brows. Thank god for Tess. She is probably the most highly skilled aesthetician in Austin, maybe even Texas. I trust her completely with all of my waxing and skin care needs. She has about 15 years of experience and you couldn’t last in this town that long if you didn’t know what you were doing. She’s also punctual, dependable and reasonably priced. Her new space is super conveniently located with easy parking and absolutely gorgeous.
