I’m giving 2 stars for really exceptional service to include follow up call from the nurse… The reason I’m skipping the other 3 stars is that the gentleman at the check in desk assured me I wasn’t going to be billed aside from my regular deductable. I asked specific questions before I proceeded with my visit because I know that ER services are very pricey regardless of what insurance it is. After running my insurance, I was told my copay is the only thing I’m responsible for. 4 months later I’m billed additional $ 800 for the mere 10min I spent with the doctor. No tests were run whatsoever. I’m am appalled. Had I known that, I would have gone to a regular urgent care clinic. I’ve reported my concern to the office and waiting to be contacted back with the resolution. I see this place has had great reviews so far, but I’m wondering if these people have been billed yet?

What an amazing facility and staff. My wife was having some issues after a recent surgery. So we needed some assistance. Austin Emergency Center was a breath of fresh air. The experience from beginning to end(including a follow-up call from the physician the next day) was far beyond our expectations. We had a true«customer delight» experience. We’ll recommend them to our friends and family.

Nice people, very caring and you can tell they love their jobs. I just wish the wait time in an exam room was better.

I injured my foot pretty badly on Saturday evening. I was concerned it was a fracture due to the excessive swelling and how much it was hurting, so I went to Austin Emergency Center the following morning to get it checked out, just in case. The nurse saw me limp in and immediately sent a wheelchair over to get me processed ASAP. There was literally no wait, and everyone I interacted was polite, caring, and very attentive. I was given pain meds and X-Ray’d within minutes. Dr. Portillo then came in and confirmed it was just a sprain. I was in and out in an hour with a prescription for the pain, my foot wrapped, and a special shoe to limit mobility. I also received a follow up call today from another Dr. to check in on how I was doing. Overall a great experience, which is VERY rare in ER.

Came in today with my 74 year old mom after several days of severe illness. Very prompt, polite, competent treatment. Excellent facility with full ER services. Arranging admission and transport to hospital. Very pleased with our experience. My mom, who hasn’t seen a doctor in 15 years or so is not happy to be here, but is cooperating, so kudos to them for patient management.
