Truly enjoyed myself! Everything was delicious! Salad bar was plenty in itself! Everyone was very attentive and made sure we were pampered. In every moment! The strawberries in the salad were sooo yummy I asked if I may have some. They actually brought some on a plate!!! Service! Service! The only thing I would have preferred would have been hot tea as opposed to the ice cold water. However, I didn’t ask so I’m not placing blame. I enjoyed myself, my company and the atmosphere!

Had lunch here today! The food is fantastic and the service impeccable! Beautiful décor and presentation of the cuisine. Don’t be put off by the parking, they have valet or free covered parking, steps away from restaurant. I can’t wait to go back with some more friends!

An excellent churrasco, awesome meats, great salad bar and starters. Cocktails a bit pricey but good. Excellent service, top notch. Price on the upper side but well worth it.

Brought my mother here for lunch the day after Mother’s Day and everything was spectacular. The service, the food everything was exceptional. Being that it was early on a week day, we were allowed a little extra attention and that made all the difference. All of the meat we tried was tender and delicious, everything was perfectly seasoned, the salad bar was lovely. Not a single complaint.

Food wise it’s comparable to Fogo de Chao except for the shrimp which is a nice addition. Service is excellent. Our waiter brought Chili Peppers in a small jar for us when she saw us put some on our plate. I had my card open and when someone came over to offer the meat and I said no, he was asking if there is a specific meat I would request. I told him I am waiting for shrimp. He checked it at the kitchen and came to my table and told me, it would be another 3 minutes. In between those 2 more person came to my table and offering different meat and told me, my shrimp is almost ready. If you’re a meat eater this place is for you. Would I come back again? Yes, but this is not a place that I would visit often.

I booked this place for my company’s Christmas party last year and I’m just now getting around to reviewing this place. Corporate Party Booking Process was EASY. Tiffany was great and the pricing was phenomenally cheaper than what we would have paid anywhere else. The private room was excellent-sound proof and had a projector if you wanted to do some presentations(we decided not to as dammit, it’s a Christmas party). Their drinks were on point, the caipirinhas were delicious and half of my coworkers ended up ordering at least a glass. Wine selection is excellent. My boss who is a wine conoisseur was even impressed. He was let down by their Malbec selection though. I believe they’ll be stocking more. If they sold their pao de quiejos separately, I’d be stopping by this place to buy a dozen every day. It’s well constructed with cheesy goodness that is chewy from the tapioca flour and good texture that isn’t too firm. Their entire selection of food was great. Especially enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and the seafood dishes in their cold bar. Meats were on point and we all stuffed ourselves silly. Normally, I don’t eat much outside of Picanha and linguisas but their entire selection was cooked to perfection and very well seasoned. For other meats, I recommend their leg of lamb(juicy, garlicky, and very well done) or rack of lamb, beef ribs, and pretty much everything else but those were the big highlights for me. Their sauces were amazing too. Definitely try the spicy one. It goes well on everything. Thinking about booking this place for your next corporate event? Do it. Everyone left so full and happy. People patted me on the back for booking a great place. ;D

As someone that regularly visits steakhouses and some background in the rodizio style churrascaria scene I came to Chama Gaucha with high expectations as everyone here seems to be overly satisfied, so we made a reservation for lunch on easter Sunday. What we experienced, was way less than overly satisfied… Service: While my main focus isn’t on service I didn’t experience the superb service everyone else claims this place has. While our waiter was friendly, he wasn’t overly into serving us or taking care of us. We had to ask several times for meats as it seemed they forgot us, which is by some standards bad but I don’t really care and don’t let this influence my review too much. Compared to other places I would say they had a little less service, but that’s fine. Meat(s): For sure when I go to a steakhouse, what matters for me is the meat and this is the most disappointing thing for me with Chama Gaucha. I expected at least comparable quality of meat to Fogo de Chao or other Brazilian Steakhouses, yet I was highly disappointed. My favourite meat is the Picanha which is normally strong and rich in flavour, yet the Picanha at Chama Gaucha was the worst I’ve ever had. Not only did the Picanha taste dull and tasteless it was also overly sour which is an indicator for cheap/wrongly stored and processed meat. I had about the same experience with most other beef which gave me the impression that either they don’t store and hang their meat correctly or they are using cheap meat. I don’t know what’s the case, but it definitely didn’t taste as good as basically every other place. The chicken was decent, but it’s pretty hard to mess that up, so I can’t really give them much credit for that. Pricing: We paid about $ 120 for two on a Sunday at lunch time … Say what you will, but I think it’s a LOT given that Fogo de Chao just around the corner offers lunch on the same Sunday for half the price. The only thing we had extra to the rodizio was a bottle of San Pellegrino that we didn’t even order. I don’t judge the price, that’s up to you. Summary: Why only two stars? Because the food was just awful and after all this is a restaurant where you go to eat! I gave one star more than the minimum cause the location looked pretty, but that’s really it. Chama Gaucha no more. I really do wonder how everybody else loves this place so much. Edit: I’m actually editing this review now due the happenings after posting this review here. Why? Cause I start doubting all these other perfect reviews that are here on Unilocal! First off I got a really aggressive«compliment» on this review from someone named«John D.» that simply couldn’t accept my opinion throwing around wrong facts. First off, if you and everybody else that claims they eat here weekly really do that, the restaurant must be packed unable to provide anyone else than their regulars with service. Second, you claimed Fogo de Chao and Chama Gaucha are owned by the same person. First off, Fogo de Chao is a way bigger company with a long history created by an Argentinian Gaucho Family — if Fogo and Chama Gaucha would be owned by the same person I really do wonder why they compete that hard?! But I give you that, I can’t proof my point neither did you. Third, You claim that I only give bad reviews which is why my review should be deleted. Well, you’re right, I give mainly bad reviews as I forget to rate the awesome places. But then again, someone that has fewer reviews that I do makes me questioning if this review is really authentic? Well anyways, I was also contacted by Chama Gauchas Customer Service apologizing for the experience I had at their restaurant. A good move, yet I’m not planning to spend another $ 100 just to probably experience the same. I’m not into playing lottery … You could do better like Fogo did with me last week: Offer promotions/customer appreciation. Edit2: Thanks Arica, this is a great answer! I’ll come back and update my review ;)

Visited this place twice last month and am thoroughly pleased with every aspect of the the experience here. Without question, the single greatest draw of Chama Gaucha is not the food but the people. The service here is beyond anything I’ve experienced at any establishment or event. The people are great at small talk and knowledgeable in all the foods/drinks offered. The meats are great. Standard fare for a Brazilian joint but done exceptionally well. I particularly enjoyed the rack of lamb, sirloin, ribeye, and garlic sirloin. The shrimp was great too and though I’m not a fan of bacon-wrapped filet, I was pleased with the one I had. There are a few other cuts but I didn’t waste too much stomach space on the likes of chicken or pork ribs However, the little I had was great. Objectively, they’d be fantastic for a home cooked meal, but the aren’t as exciting as the other red meats. The offer a variety of sauces; mint jelly for the lamb, horseradish for the sirloin. But a lot of these cuts were cooked to perfect temperatures that I didn’t really find myself using them. Oh, and the sides, salad bar, and drinks are all superb too. Surprisingly delicious was the small rolls they offered. These breads were so damn good! Light, airy and filled with a cheese mixed with cream– our table went through at least 7 baskets. For dessert, we had the tres leches and it was easily the best I’ve tried anywhere. Management was in a limbo with which tres leches to go with; one from an outside bakery or the one they make in house. The overall flavor of each was distinctly good in their own way. The sweetness of the house tres leches was more subtle, It left our group divided on which was better. In the end, you can do now wrong with either. Enough writing. It should be clear by now that this is a great, fun restaurant for dates, groups, or work outings alike. Go eat some meat!

Made reservation arrived shortly after 5 o’clock salad bar was adequate and the dinner rolls are pretty good. The feature of these restaurants is the meat and is it was good across the board The reasons for not giving it more stars is going to use the restroom I found it messy and unkept. I think they may have had some prior event more attention should definitely pay the upkeep of the rest room After mentioning it to the manager they seem to take the appropriate attention.

Wow!!! Meat lover’s paradise is right here! Look no further! Lol after having lunch here, I can confidently say that Chama is now my go to place for the Brazilian gaucho experience. Granted, I have only been to like three restaurants that offer gaucho experience, but whatever, I still declare Chama as the winner! Lol since lots of other reviewer have compared the two similar restaurants(Chama vs Fogo), I will just list what I love about Chama and What Fogo doesn’t offer. From lunching here, I noticed that 1) the service at Chama is better than Fogo. For example, every time I get up to go to the salad bar, I would come back to find my table napkin folded neatly and they will pull out my chairs for me. Also, the waitstaff doesn’t wait until my water is half full to fill it back up, which is great! Very attentive. 2) Chama offers shrimp ceviche on their salad bar buffet and the shrimps are huge! +10 points for Chama. Lol 3) there is also grilled shrimp being offered and Fogo definitely didn’t offer that. I mean Fogo have tiger shrimp you can order on the side and pay extra, but for 28.50 and you get grilled shrimp as well? Yes please! Also, the last four times that I have been to Fogo, I don’t remember if they offered house sauces but at Chama, they offer us four house sauces to eat with the meat. I think my favorite is the spicy salsa. Also, I love Chama’s cheese bread. It’s a lot more fluffy and slightly bigger than Fogo. I would come back just for this! Overall, I greatly recommend this place and I can’t wait to come back and try their desserts and get more cheese bread. Yum.

Phenomenal, all around. Service was amazing. Food was top-notch. The salad bar that comes with the unlimited meat is the best I’ve ever had! (Only downside is you cannot get the amazing all-you-can-eat-a-thon if you sit outside or in the bar area. So, I’d recommend that you do not do that.)

Love this place, been here two time for business lunches and they have been great. Salad bar is wonderful, high end, fresh ingredients. Don’t fill up too much on the salads as when the meat comes around you’ll want to have plenty of space available. Be sure you get some filet which melts in you mouth and the shrimp are fantastic however get a double serving as they don’t come around with them too often. If you are a well done meat eater this may not be the pace for you as most meats are cooked medium to medium rare which to me is just what I like. Be sure you get a parking validation ticket when you leave.

My husband treated me to lunch here a couple of months ago for my birthday. I made reservations through opentable and mentioned that I was celebrating my birthday. Usually when I make reservations and note that it’s for a special occasion I get greeted with a nice personalization. However this wasn’t the case. The hostess was friendly but didn’t even mention«happy birthday» to me. This probably isn’t a big deal to other people but I expect more from a nice restaurant. The food was still good but service was not as spectacular as the first time I dined here. I would still dine here again though.

Awesome service, great for large groups. Salad bar is beautiful, I’m in the minority about the rolls, they didn’t do a lot for me. The meat was great, I had to keep flipping my card to red, I couldnt eat it fast enough. Every time you turned around someone was there with another skewer of something yummy looking! Great wine selection.

If you like meat, I mean REALLY like MEAT, this is your place. I like meat. I enjoy meat. The meat lover’s pizza is too much for me. I don’t care for overly meaty spaghetti sauce. I don’t have to have meat with every meal. Get it? I came to this lovely establishment with co-workers. I was outvoted. This was mid-December. Complimentary(free) valet parking is available. When I visited, the restaurant was contracting it through Sunshine Parking. When it was time to leave they couldn’t locate my keys for 40 minutes. I spoke with Alex, the Valet Manager, and all he could offer was a «we’re really sorry, ma’am». A complimentary drink at the bar, instead of having me waiting outside in the bitter cold, would’ve been nice. Oh well, you get what you pay for. This is a beautiful restaurant, spacious and inviting. The hostesses were attractive and very welcoming. Our table server seemed to have been new. He didn’t know what brisket was. We finally figured out that they did not offer it, but when you work in a meat factory, you should at least be familiar with brisket, or enough to know that you don’t serve it. The various meats came quickly and steadily, except the shrimp. That only came twice the entire night. The sides are very large, and staff will refill those as necessary. The salad bar is large, but the ingredients are limited. Additionally, the salad bar is in an awkward place in the restaurant, so there is a tendency to not want to get up and go to the salad bar. Overall, a nice experience. I think the tab was close to $ 45 per person excluding tip and alcoholic beverages. I’ll take any meat lovers in my life here, they will love it!

Believe the hype, folks. I am a huge fan of Fogo de Chao, and there is a fogo located literally down the street from this location. But we decided hey– we have a fogo de chao where we live, so on our visit to atlanta, why dont we try something new? We saw that Chama had a perfect 5 star review, and decided to give it a shot. This place easily rivals the quality and service level of Fogo; and in some ways, as others have mentioned, I would place Chama on a higher rank than Fogo. The meat quality and flavor is outstanding. The service is absolutely top notch. The salad bar is immaculate. The atmosphere is very nice. Would not hesitate coming to this place again or recommending it to others.

Do not park in the lot across the street. You know, the one with Kroger and a bunch of closed after certain hours businesses. Yeah, even though the lot had many open spots and we were going to stop at Kroger afterward, we got the boot. At least we didn’t get towed and I was so bitter at Kroger, that I decided not to stop in and then went out of the way and went to Publix instead. I must say that after that incident, that was the the most expensive dinner that I’ve ever had. It was my anniversary, the food was excellent, so it was worth every penny. Apparently Atlanta has three Brazilian steakhouses?! Atlanta, you don’t know how lucky you are! This was my forth Brazilian steakhouse experience. Each time gets better. Don’t get me wrong, I bet the Atlanta Fogo is awesome too, but Chama was off the charts. The salad bar had things like avocado slices, a shrimp cocktail concoction, and several mixed green salad mixtures. The meat… which is the main reason anyone goes to a Brazilian steakhouse, right? They offer shrimp here. I’ve never witnessed shrimp offered at a Brazilian steakhouse before, so that alone sets this place apart from the rest. My favorite meat was the bacon wrapped chicken. The flavors were out of this world! Top Sirloin, Filet Mignon, chicken legs, ribs… All brought around to the table until we turned our cards over to red. If you’ve never been to a Brazil grill before, it’s basically a buffet on steroids. You have a card, about like a coaster… one side is red, one side is green. You guessed it, green means go. As long as it’s on green, the meat options are brought around to your table on skewers, you pull it away with your tongs. If and when you reach your full carnivore state, turn your card to the red side. It’s as simple as that.

«We make fire. Cook meat.» — Friends, Season 1, Episode 24 Look out Fogo, there is a new sheriff in town and your days may be numbered. Chama Gaucha has the churrascaria business on lock! The location is the old Copeland’s at Tower Place and they have really made it their own — the décor is high end and quite quiet inside — a definite plus. Once you sit down, someone quickly comes and takes drink orders. Like any good churrascaria, they have a great selection of cocktails(including the signature caipirinha) and of course, they have the non-alcoholic limeade. Both are personal favorites of mine and they prepare both of these very well. The salad bar is spot on — everything is well labeled and laid out. All items were completely filled when I visited and very fresh. A few items were different than what I have seen at FdC, but a welcome change. They even had chicken salad, which was both odd and cool. I especially enjoyed the huge wheel o’ Grana Padano cheese. Of course, I also filled up with prosciutto, veggies, salad(including a wedge), bacon, etc. But the trick is, don’t fill up too much on these things. You have to save room for all the meats! If you get up from the table, a server is quick to come and fold your napkin. They eagle-eye from the sidelines and when you begin to return to the table, they pull out the appropriate chair for you and replace your napkin in your lap. Top-notch service, for sure. Once you have finished your salad, someone will quickly replace your plate with a clean one and you can flip your meat card from red to green — let the meat games begin! To your table, they will bring sides. Obviously the«cheesy-poofs», the pao de queijo. A personal favorite. Also, grilled bananas, polenta cakes(the only one that Fogo still does better) and mashed potatoes. Now, what Chama does that Fogo does not… sauces! I’ve always felt this was lacking as who doesn’t love a little horseradish sauce with their beef? A server came and asked if we wanted sauces and before he could rattle off our choices, I said YES! To the table came: chimichurri, horseradish, salsa, and mint jelly. Personally, I loved the horseradish sauce the best, but the min jelly certain was good with the lamb chops(not that it needed it). Once the passadores began coming to the table, it was a free-for-all. They will cut you whatever meat temperature you prefer(I’m a mid-rare girl, but will take rare if served it). I took all the beefs and lambs and the parmesan crusted pork. I tend to skip the sausages and chickens to save stomach space for the better stuff. They also had grilled shrimp — I tried a couple and they were perfectly cooked and quite delicious. What I tried: – House top sirloin(picanha) and my personal favorite – Garlic sirloin – Bacon-wrapped filet mignon – Parmesan-crusted pork loin – Bottom sirloin – Beef ribs(must be requested — this is not passed around the dining room) – Ribeye(Had to request this one as well) – Rack of lamb(a few times) – Leg of lamb – Shrimp The servers clearly overheard me say something to the birthday girl — I had not told them ahead of time. So they comped her birthday dessert(which we shared) which was the molten chocolate cake. They decorated the plate with Happy Birthday in chocolate and lit a candle. The after dinner drink cart also came around and we bought a round of drinks to go with dessert — I grabbed a coffee. Overall, it was a deliciously filling evening. Service was some of the best I have had in a long time — we did not have a specific server, but many seeing to our needs for our table of 7. There was an auto-gratuity of 18%, but because the service was so amazing, I made sure to add additional money to my portion of the bill. Since the head server had no way of knowing how the split the bill(5 of us were covering the birthday girl and one was underage and not allowed to pay for any alcohol), I did the Math and gave him 6 amounts and 6 credit cards to run through there system. He was obliging and ran everything just as I had written down for him. Hopefully, that was not too annoying. I will definitely return here again, and not just for special occasions. Bring on the giant sticks filled with meats!

Chama Gaucha is one of the hot new restaurants to open in Atlanta over the past year. After opening in April 2015, this place has managed to average a lofty 5-star rating on Unilocal after 175+ reviews(as of January 2016). Well, I’m here to throw another 5-star review to the pile because after dining here recently, I have to say the hype is mostly warranted. Here are the two questions people have been asking me about Chama Gaucha and my short answers. Question #1: How does Chama Gaucha compare to Fogo de Chao? Answer #1: Chama is very similar to Fogo. They’re both high-end churrascarias(Brazilian steakhouses) with passadores serving the same types and cuts of meat; they have fancy all-you-can-eat salad bars; even their side dishes are the same. Question #2: Is it better than Fogo? Answer #2: Yes. Reasons why — Chama costs less and offers better quality all-around, from their meats and salad bar to their service. Chama is what Fogo used to be. The real question is whether or not Chama can sustain this for the long-term. Since Fogo’s opening in 2001, I’ve dined there several times with family and friends, usually for special occasions(once even for a Unilocal event). At one point, it was one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. However, after establishing itself as *the* churrascaria in town for a decade-plus, I think Fogo may have fallen victim to its own success. After multiple visits to Fogo in the last 5 years, I’ve noticed the quality of both their meats and salad bar drop. If I were to update my 5-star review for Fogo today, I’d knock off a star. And while Fogo’s service has always been good, Chama’s service outshines them. Before opening their new restaurant just a mere half-mile up the road from Fogo, I’m sure the folks working behind the scenes at Chama wanted to make sure they one-upped Fogo in every facet. From my experience, it appears they did. Chama Gaucha is the newer, younger, sexier model that’s come onto the scene and attracted Fogo’s customers away. If you’re wondering how prices compare, here’s a summary of Atlanta churrascaria prices as of January 2016: — Chama Gaucha(Buckhead) Lunch: $ 26.50(15 cuts of meat), salad bar only $ 19.50 Dinner: $ 44.50(15 cuts of meat), salad bar only: $ 24.50 — Fogo de Chao(Buckhead) Lunch: $ 32.95(15 cuts of meat), salad bar only: $ 22.95 Dinner: $ 51.95(15 cuts of meat), salad bar only: $ 24.95 — Fire of Brazil(Downtown) Lunch: $ 17.95(9 cuts of meat), salad bar only: $ 12.95 Dinner: $ 41.50(15 cuts of meat), salad bar only: $ 21.50 — Red & Green(Buford Highway) Lunch: $ 24.95(11 cuts of meat), salad bar only $ 8.95 Dinner: $ 39.99(15 cuts of meat), salad bar only: $ 10.00 If Chama provides more options, better food, and better service than Fogo for a lower price, then why go to Fogo? Hopefully, this means Fogo will up their game. Competition is good. Chama’s salad bar is very good. During my visit on a busy Friday night, the bar was kept well-stocked and the items were fresh. There are various salads, vegetables, smoked salmon, cured meats, cheeses, rice & beans, garlic bread, and more. I particularly liked the giant wheel of Grana Padano Parmesan cheese. Meats I tried: * House sirloin(picanha) * Garlic sirloin * Bacon-wrapped filet mignon * Parmesan-dusted pork loin * Marinated chicken drumsticks * Bottom sirloin(fraldinha) * Beef ribs(costela) * Ribeye * Rack of lamb(cordeiro) Several of the meats are cooked and skewered at different temperatures, so you can request the temperature you like. I prefer rare and medium rare. My favorites were the garlic sirloin, bottom sirloin, beef ribs, and rack of lamb. Generally, all the meats were enjoyable. Tender, juicy(some more than others), flavorful, and nicely seasoned. I had to request certain items since I noticed the passadores weren’t rotating their full selection through the dining room. Those items included the bacon-wrapped filet and the beef ribs. Be sure to ask for sauces. I asked for them all — chimichurri, horseradish, salsa, and mint jelly. My favorite was the mint jelly. It goes terrific on the lamb. Also, if you like spicy food, the kitchen can prepare a special jalapeño-onion mix for you to eat with your food. I recommend it. Sides served include fried polenta, sweet cooked bananas, mashed potatoes, and cheese rolls. The bananas and cheese rolls are absolutely delicious. If you like soda, try a Guarana. It’s a sweet and refreshing Brazilian soda made from the guarana berry. After-dinner drinks are available from a special cart that will be rolled to your table. Service is top-notch. Not one server will be assigned to your table, but rather a team. Thank you, Marcos, Jessie, Alex, Jesus, and Lesmi! Book your reservations for free on OpenTable and earn dining points. As for parking, both valet and self-park options are available. You get 3 hours free parking in the Tower Walk parking garage with validation. The garage is free after 7pm, regardless of when you enter.

Came to Chama Gaucha to celebrate my Mom’s birthday this past weekend and everybody loved it! Dinner for $ 41. 50 per person may initially seem pricey, but I think it’s worth it, especially when you consider the fact that you’re getting unlimited lamb chops, filet mignon, ribeye, bottom sirloin, etc. AND it’s cheaper than Fogo de Chao’s price of $ 51.95. The food was great, and I have to say that this is the best customer service I’ve received anywhere, ever. From the moment we walked in, we were quickly greeted with a smile from the hostess. We were taken to our table immediately, and they even pull out the chairs for you. Our server pretty much met as at the table. He did an awesome job the entire night and was great at explaining everything to us. I tried some of my Mom’s Capirinha cocktail($ 9), which the menu describes as «the most popular drink in brazil.» You can choose to have it flavored if want. The flavor options are strawberry, pineapple, passion fruit, and tropical. My mom chose pineapple. I thought it was decent, but I doubt I would order it for myself. The salad bar buffet has a lot of good choices. Some of the items included were tabbouleh, artichoke bottoms, asparagus, beets, endive salad, caesar salad, mozzarella, sun dried tomato, heart of palm, and plenty more! They also have rice and beans available in the buffet area. They bring you side items of cheesy bread, plantains, and mashed potatoes. That cheesy bread is ridiculously delicious. Best bread I’ve had from any restaurant, ever. The plantains were just okay to me, but my girlfriend thought they were really good. Mashed potatoes were very flavorful. We were still working on our food from the salad bar when we flipped our cards to green for the meat to come. The second we flipped our cards, someone came up and asked if we would like side plates so we wouldn’t have to have our salad bar items on the same plate as our meat. Moments after, they started coming around with the meat. My favorite was the Picanha, which is their house special. It’s the prime cut of the sirloin, and it is amazingly delicious. The Lamb was great, too. Honestly, everything I had was good. I didn’t try any chicken or sausage, but I did have some shrimp and even that was awesome. They have four different sauces available for the meat, chimichurri, hot sauce, mint jelly for the lamb, and a horseradish one. I didn’t really love any of them, but the meat was perfect on its own anyways! Since it was my Mom’s birthday, they brought her out a free dessert with«Happy Birthday» written in chocolate sauce on the plate and a lit candle. She was thrilled. They don’t skimp either, it was a BIG piece of cake, and it was actually pretty yummy!
