Ruth’s Chris Steak House

We were given a gift card from a friend that was $ 100. Our waiter stole $ 50 off of the card and then lied to us. He said the card only had $ 50 on it. We spoke with his manager and everything was resolved, but it was still a ver unpleasant experience.

After having dinned at several other Ruth’s Chris restaurants we felt this a good choice for a business dinner while in the Atlanta area. However after dinning here we found the food quality not up to what we have come to know and expect from a Ruth’s Chris. In fact, I believe I’ve had a better meal at my local shopping mall food court back home, and for a far better price considering that. The mediocre food combined with dated, drab décor, and a wait staff that seems to specialize in rudeness and curt inattention, I dare say we shall never return to dine there again! With at least four other top shelf steakhouses within a block of this one, consider your alternatives.

Just left the place. I came in with hopes that the other reviews were due to inexperienced travelers… no. Hire a permanent host. Food did not cut the Ruth Chris norms (I had surf and turf). Asparagus looked like what I would compare to Phyllis Dillard. I’m at the hotel next door for the week and was scoping out a spot for Christmas Eve dinner. Good thing I did it. 3 stars is for several reasons, 1 I know the Dukes, 2 I have hopes that it will get fixed 3 I just couldn’t bring myself to give a Ruth’s such a low score. I think the other Ruth that I would have placed in the same category was also located inside an Embassy Suites in Bham. Get it together Ruth Chris franchisers!

We arrived to the embassy suites location and was served water. The glass had lipstick and the water had a bug in it. I wish it would have been a better experience since we drove 50 minutes to dine.

This was honestly the best steak i have ever had. If you visit this location ask to be served by Paul. He is an outstanding server. Very knowledgeable and equally attentive. The manager came out halfway through my meal to ensure i was having an outstanding experience.

Exceptional dining experience! My waiter Frank rendered service that went above and beyond exemplary! Kudos to Dee and his leadership!

I’ve been to 4 different Ruth’s Chris locations and this was the worst.
Our waitress continually forgot to bring us things we’d ordered and the food was mediocre. No chili sauce on our calamari. she barely returned except to give us our check 20 minutes after we finished. I won’t be returning. The locations in Columbia, SC and Asheville, NC are much better in service and food quality.

Came here for dinner, and had the Filet and Shrimp. I wasn’t all that impressed. I’ve had better tasting steak at much cheaper Steak houses. My couple glasses of Moscato were amazing though. I was soooo excited to give this place a try. Maybe I should try another location just to be sure.

Had dinner here for my birthday. The food was delicious. My favorites were the calamari, the barbecue shrimp and the bread pudding. The staff is excellent. Thanks to Shon and Brittany who went all out to make my birthday meal special.

Excellent Food, Customer service and Professional Staff and the Atmosphere was beautiful and Romantic for my wife and I!!! I will definitely be back soon!!! Shout Out to my Waiter Mr. Frank!!!

We just had dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. We shared a plate of salad with vinaigrette dressing and spicy fried lobster for appetizer and 8 Oz Steak strip for main. It was very good. Beyond our expectations. We were served by Frank who were very kind and helpful. Thank you for being very nice. I’ll certainly come back again to this place.

Ruth chris is now regular and basic. This buckhead location should close down. It is not 5 star standard in a hotel lobby. Service ok, steaks blah. Fake candles for $ 50 steaks, I want a real candle. Not worth it,
Over priced.

Customer service is always great when I come, my food lives up to my expectations, and I already know I’m going to spend at least $ 150 — $ 200 including tip when I come here. I like the pad ordering system. I appreciate the staff; you can tell they enjoy their jobs and they work hard. I like the story of how ruths chris got started, Ruth was spunky business savy lass! I hate her steaks used to be $ 8 bucks and now they are damn near $ 60! Was she a marketing genius or what?
Ruths chris is synonymous with elegance and class. What I don’t like is how they have become lax on the dress code which is why I’m giving 4 out of 5 stars. I’m not saying «ghetto people» shouldn’t eat here but I am saying I would appreciate if I can get 2 children 3 and 4 dressed appropriately for the restaurant and keep them in line not to disturb anyone’s dinning experience I would appreciate if «Marqueez» and «keyshawnesha» (real names I over heard other members of their party say greeting these people’s late arrival, that’s how loud they were) came in there dressed presentable and not dressed in ball caps, jordans, sagging jeans, and the females dressed like a thots (thots = hood boogers). Their whole entourage looked like a low budget rap video or like they heard ruths chris offered a bmz club back drop with champagne bottles airbrushed on it. As if the females were all ready to pop over and the dudes get into the prison stance to take a group picture. Lol I’m cracking jokes but I’m serious, I’m tired of uncouth people. I could see if this was isolated incident but it’s like this everytime I come **insert ratchet names or entourage here** Please don’t lower your standards any further ruths chris!
On to the food, I can’t lie the food is pricey. Is it worth it you ask? No… if it was up to me I would lower the prices by $ 10 -$ 12 per entrée, $ 3 per appetizer/​salad. Now if they do this in conjunction to **coughs that scam obamacare** I understand everyone takes a pay cut but corporate. Yeah… corporate greed at its finest but I digress. If the food and the service weren’t good I honestly wouldn’t be back at these prices especially when long horn offers a good steak. I sincerely apologize but a cow is a cow to me, whether it’s grass fed or cannibal lol all kidding aside I like the place, it’s swanky, and the service is stellar.
In some cases you get what you pay for so it’s a necessary evil I will happily pay. 5 out of 4 stars for being some what lax on their dress code policy. Dress codes are put in place as a detourant, I see how it tap dances on the line of discrimination but I’ve been to restaurants that don’t allow children because children can ruin a dinning experience. Especially for those who dont have children or are planning a date night getting away from their own damn kids. So if a restaurant can refuse children, refuse people dressed like typical riff raff. Observing obnoxious riff raff ruins my dinning experience. Just my opinion, but I’m sure others who work hard for their money like me who want to be away from that type of element agree.

I ate at this location several years ago on a date where a gentleman was obviously trying to impress me. My office was right across the street from this location, so it was very convenient after a long day. This gentleman and I met inside the lobby and were escorted to our tiny, wobbly table inside the restaurant. It smelled amazing inside, so I was hopeful, though I found the décor and ambiance to be quite dated and drab. Regardless, I figured with the reputation I’d heard of this place, the service and food would make up for it.
But that wasn’t my experience. As memory serves, I ordered a petite filet and a glass of wine. All the sides were a la carte and family-​style, so the gentleman I was there with did the ordering and added probably 3 sides for the table along with whatever meat he got. I wasn’t impressed with the taste, nor the presentation. The server was a bit snobby and came off as very condescending as well. And though I would have been fine not knowing this, my date was too gratuitous in informing me that he was spending $ 300 on me for our first date. So I did what any sensible woman looking to end the night should do. I asked the waiter to split the check in half, paid $ 150 and left without my «doggy bag».
The date certainly annoyed me, but the experience of Ruth’s Chris could have made up for it… I wanted it to make up for it. However, from parking to the entrance to the service and finally the food, I was absolved of any desire to return to Ruth’s Chris.

First time I went there, terrible servers!!! No refill for bread or water, just kept push for more drink…4 stars was cuz the second time I went there, the server is way better, so I just take average of it.
Steak wise, 4 stars… I would go to bones or Kevin.
First time I ordered the medium rare filet mignon which is great, second time i ordered the medium ribeye which is also great, but the problem goes to what my wife’s order, since she is pregnant she order the medium well filet which is pretty dry and the edge was burn. i am pretty sure there is better way to cook medium well or well «Prime» steak. its prime, you got you make it taste like prime steak.
so i can give it up for 5 stars for mine but 3 max for my wife’s. take a average so 4 stars~~
got to give the manager some credit, glad you take the review seriously.

Every year our group comes to the Hinman Dental Meeting. We always treat ourselves and eat at RuthChris.
What a nightmare this year. The waitress and service, which use to be impeccable, was no better than a Western Sizzler.
the restsurant was not busy. Go figure. It took over 18 min just to get our drinks after they were ordered from the bar.
The old fashioned was served in the incorrect glass and had so much bitters in it making almost un drinkable. It got worse. the 50.00 steak was served med rare. ordered med well. Same for another of the party. Cut to the chase. The manager came and said he’d correct it. the other steak came back correct. I was served another steak rare. So bloody I couldn’t eat it. The manager served it yet never came back to check on the quality. It was just bad all around.
Thi use to be an experience. now nightmare. Where is Pano’s and Paul’s.
7 years was a good run Ruth Chris. Sorry, we won’t return.
I can not recommend this restsurant.

Overall service is very good, the folks working behind the bar are busting there butt and take care of you.
Price is what you would expect at a Ruth’s Chris– $$$$, maybe a bit higher since this location is in Buckhead area.
I have eaten here three times now. Food on the first occasion was not what I would expect but the last two times I was satisfied with my selections.
If you have a ‘few’ dollars burning a whole in your pocket swing by.

If you’ve got a couple hundred bucks burning a hole in your pocket, not the worst you can do… the breakdown:
Location: 2 Stars: Coming from S. Springs, turning on to Peachtree from Piedmont from the time we got in the turning lane to the time we gave the car to the valet: over 25 minutes — not the restaurant’s fault, but has to be taken into account — incredibly frustrating to drive to. (But valet was only $ 3 — can’t beat that).
Ambiance: 3 Stars: the interior was fine, not memorable, not best ever, but no reason for all the bellyaching from other reviewers.
Drinks: 5 Stars: I’m a Manhattan guy… and the house Manhattan is in my top 3 of all time -$ 14 bucks, but worth it — awesome.
Food (non-​steak): 4 Stars: Great seared Tuna app, Seafood Gumbo was very good, Shrimp were excellent — Wife liked the Chicken, Potatoes were good.
Steaks: 2 Stars: I don’t like the way they prepare their steaks (This goes for all Ruth’s Chris’s) Medium Rare comes out a Ponderosa Grey color… In multiple visits to various Ruth Chris’s — steaks the same — average (at best) and overpriced.
Price: 1 Star: Soup, salad, 2 mixed drinks, 2 glasses of wine, an app, and 2 entrees — $ 250…I’ve had better for ¹⁄₃^rd of the price.
Conclusion — and this is coming from a Red Meat lover… if someone takes you to or requests going to Ruth Chris (we only went because we were sitting on a $ 100 gift certificate for over 2 years and wanted to use it) — go — get a Manhattan, and anything but a steak.

It gets three because the food still tastes good. Everything else about this location is pretty awful. Its on the side of the Embassy Suites lobby. You may get a seat in the lobby, you may get a seat in a side room. Some of the tables (like ours) are snug in a corner and our server had to side-​shuffle to get to the table. We spent a good amount of time sitting unattended between courses.
Overall it felt awkward and uninviting. I’ve been to other locations that are better but this one needs to make some changes.

This is a 4 star restaurant but I gave it a 3 star tonight. First time visiting Ruth Chris in Buckhead not impressed with the service. The server Jamal forgot one appetizer and had to remind him twice about. He carded me after ordering moscato which was ridiculous since I look old enough to be his mother. The meal was ok and the atmosphere was a little noisy since there were quite a few bday celebrations going on. I still cannot believe that some customers will wear a T shirt, jeans, and sneakers to an establishment like this. There should definitely be a dress code.
Still waiting for the check after over 2 ½ hours.
The valet parking was convenient and there are many retail stores and hotels nearby.
