Great Lattes and fresh baked treats! Service is always friendly each and every time I walk in. Doesn’t hurt that it’s located a stones throw from my house.

Friendly staff! Small fresh pressed green apple, kale, spinach cucumber & broccoli juice of my choosing was very good. Large vegan protein Strawberry, blueberry, blackberry banana smoothie of my choosing, not so tasty and $ 9! Hubby had the Apple Turnover and Chai Matcha Tea. Enjoyed the Apple Turnover so much that he went back for another! Nice, cute relaxing spot. Clean bathrooms!

hadn’t been in there before and didn’t know if it was serve yourself for the pastries… there is a shelf of tongs and to go containers on the side to serve yourself. Sweet and savory pastries. I opted for the ham and cheese brioche… delicious! It was bit though so would be good for sharing. Pumpkin spice latte was great

I like the food and come here often for the pastries. There is a variety of drinks, energy bars, and pastries and if you’re just walking in to grab something quickly it’s a great alternative to Starbucks for sitting with a laptop and doing work. The employees are the worst, however! Several times they’ve messed up my drink. One person didn’t bother listening to my full order and gave me the wrong flavored latte. Another time I told the cashier I wanted an iced drink; she proceeded to make me a hot drink and when I corrected her she gave me so much attitude! With this much headache I’m just going to go to Dunkin’ Donuts across the street!

I love their brewed coffee and freshly made pastries! Try buying coffee and croissant and sit at the long table facing the window while watching people pass by.

I come here almost every day! I like the friendly staff and the iced coffee. If you ask for sugar in the iced coffee, they usually add it first and mix it with some coffee and your milk/cream to thoroughly mix the sugar and then add the cold coffee and ice. As for pastries, I really like their spinach and cheese roll things and the apple turnover. I really love their almond cookies. One star is off because their espresso drinks are a little hit or miss, the espresso isn’t strong enough for me and sometimes the soy milk is a little off. Another reason why is their cookies are a teeny bit expensive — the almond cookie that I love is $ 1.25 and it’s smaller than a normal sized round cookie. Maybe it’s a labor-intensive cookie? I also had a cheesecake from here that I was really put off by.

Baked goods are hit or miss, the savory items tend to be better. The brownies have been stale the few times I tried them. The coffee is ok, lattes better than the regular coffee. Staff is excellent, friendly and have a good sense of humor about them, makes it feel like a neighborhood place and not impersonal. It’s always clean in there.

They put a glass door in between the prep for the strand and the bakery. Hasn’t smelled like meat in a while. Still good coffee

The economic wonder at Bakeway is the coffee and croissant special priced at a whopping $ 2.00 and available all day. Their tasty coffee with a decent croissant. perfect for dipping in the coffee. Their cakes and pastries are all good. High quality and reasonable priced. They also have smoothies but I have never tried them… A nice place to go either to get out of the house, read or work on one’s laptop. They have a particularly good WiFi. Fast and rarely drops the connection…

It’s a clever design when you first enter. Wooden veneer walls and ceilings reflected by a mirror make it look longer than it really is. I initially came in just for some water on a scorching day, but with a $ 5 card limit, I was sweet talked into a slice of bread pudding by the really nice guy behind the counter. The bread pudding is like five different desserts swirled in one. There is no rhyme or reason. One bite you will taste the cheese, another some chocolate. Every so often you’ll find some nuts. Even rarer, but still present is a fruity addition. Strawberry I believe? Huge thick slice for only $ 2.50 too. I wouldn’t mind having a seat here again on the future.

Boasting 2 locations, the design of this place seems to be common in Astoria, with an odd layout and self-service, with a nice variety of baked goods. Nothing was phenomenal, but a nice place to linger for a bit if you need to.

You really want to class up the joint, Bakeway??? Stop charging .50 for a cup of hot water and start caring a little more about your customers. It pains me so when management is to blame. This place has been doing a confusing and careless job in brainstorming how to improve. This is my local coffee shop and I have come here frequently to work for over two years now. The baristas they hire are LOVELY and they all do a great job. But I came here at 7 am on a recent Sunday right after I rolled out of bed. I found a seat and was about to settle in for a couple hours of coffee and work when I was told I needed to buy something to stay. Yes, Bakeway. I know. Let a girl wake up. So I shuffled my sleepy bones to the register and then remembered I had to buy 5.00 worth of stuff to meet the credit minimum(seriously. What coffee place has a credit minimum?!?) and about 30 minutes later I went up to ask for a cup of hot water. I was told this would be fifty cents. Again, I only had my card. Ridiculous. That’s the last straw. A tip: don’t harass customers right when they sit down if they haven’t purchased anything yet. If I’ve been planted for 30 minutes and haven’t bought anything, sure! I welcome you to remind me of your policy. Or say, if there isn’t an open seat and it’s rush hour. But when they joint is empty it just looks terrible on your part. Nobody likes a cheap skate. We’re all hustling in this city, Bakeway. Oh, and I second the reviews that warn that there’s nothing special about the pastries. The best thing here is the service behind the counter(1 star) and the fresh flowers(1 star.) There are MUCH better options around Astoria and it’s worth the hike to get to them. This Bakeway owner needs to visit some of them and take some notes.

It is overpriced and the quality of the coffee or desserts were not worth it. So very disappointed.

The pistachio bar is incredible — incredible enough to have it sent to me from New York(no longer living in that area). The center nearly tastes like marzipan — it is angelic!

I need a explanation why there is so much hype about this place?! Same pastries you’ll find at any local bakery, noting out of the ordinary or unique.

This place has great coffee and teas and the baked goods look awesome. Sadly I’ve not been able to find any gluten free options so haven’t tried any of them. They also have a good selection of cold drinks, energy bars and the like. It’s a perfectly good café to work at, although the seating area is not the most inviting/cosy.

Holy shit! $ 6 for 3 drinks and a slice of carrot cake!!! That’s amazing and enough to keep me coming back for sure. Staff was 3 girls who were all very pleasant with SMILES. I’m big on smiles. If I have to smile day in and day out at my customers you should have to also and this place didn’t disappoint. Carrot cake was good however the frosting had a weird smoky almost bacon flavor that threw me a bit. The coffee was on the weak side but oh well. The price made everything taste better.

Whoa, I got away with a nice breakfast for under $ 6. In NYC, that’s practically unheard of. I had a ham and cheese croissant warmed up, and it was maybe the best one I’ve ever had. Plus, it was HUGE. I also had an iced coffee, which I thought was very good despite some of the other reviews. There’s plenty of seating, free wifi and a hue selection of prepared foods, yogurts and bottled drinks.
