I have been to almost every«Greek» restaurant in Asheville. This place is hands down the best place to get a gyro. You might think a food truck cannot make good gyros, but you are dead wrong. First, and most importantly, the lamb meat for the gyro cones from the meat on a spit which constantly spins next to a hear source and the meat is shaved off. This is the true way to do gyro meat. No other place that I know of does it like this. The difference is amazing. I moved here from Chicago and thought I would never have a true gyro again. I am so glad I was wrong. The onions and tomato are fresh and delicious. The tzatziki sauce is the best I have tasted in Asheville. We got to meet the owners, Alex and Ashleigh Baxevanis. They are wonderful people and super friendly. The food truck is in the parking lot of some seafood restaurant, I forgot the name. I wish the owners the best of luck and I know that even if they only served gyros and ditched the rest of the menu, this place will be a hit once word has spread.
