Onion Rings, Ribeye steak sub, chicken pita sandwich. Everything was very good. Food seemed a little slow from the kitchen as we were there after the lunch group. Overall good food and the prices seemed good to.

Affordable quality in Downtown Asheville. Surprisingly good food. Solid Italian and Greek choices. Generous portions. GREAT prices on food. Drinks a bit overpriced.

My boyfriend and I decided to spend New Year’s weekend in Asheville and this restaurant was recommended by my brother. It has a charming interior, huge menu, great beer selection and our waitress was super sweet and fast. We started with the cheese bites and fried pepperoni and for entrees we both had pasta– I had spaghetti Maria and bf had the Peloponnesian. All dishes were super tasty and they don’t skimp on the portion sizes which was great bc we were starving after a long drive! If we were in NC more often, this would be our go-to spot for sure!

My company rented out the upstairs space for our company Christmas party. I could not have been happier with the choice. Beautiful atmosphere, warm and inviting. The bartenders are on point, fast, friendly and heavy handed. We had the food set out buffet style. Choice of house or Greek salad. Chicken Alfredo: delicious creamy homemade simplicity. Spinach lasagna: very hearty with a robust sauce. I was afraid the spinach would be over powering or over proportioned but was not the case. Perfectly balanced ingredients. Garlic bread. Meat lasagna I did not eat. This is a great restaurant with down to earth hard working staff, fresh amazing food and prices that can’t be matched for location and quality.

I went here tonight with my wife and I have to say it has to be one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The staff was great, especially Johnny the bartender. We went to about 10 bars tonight and he was by far the best bartender we have had. The bar itself was great, but I can honestly that due to his genuine interactions with our group and his personality, this is definitely a 5 star review. I will definitely be returning because of him.

This was a great and tasty find in the heart of downtown Asheville. The service and food was top notch and packed with lots of flavor. We started off with some cheese curds and hot soft pretzels that were awesome!!! The jalapeño cheese sauce that comes with the pretzel amazingly compliments the soft warm chewy doe of the pretzel. Along with the apps and diner we had a great selection of on tap beers that would boggle and beer snobs mind and pallet. As for the mains I stuck with their Greek salad topped with grilled chicken and there awesome house made Greek dressing. All in all everything was great front start to finish and I have to compliment my fellow Unilocalers on their positive reviews and recommendations that drew us to this great dining spot.

Great food and waitstaff. Party of 9 friends, and the staff was very accomodating. Plenty of food and very reasonably priced. Children welcome. Will split the checks. Highly recommend! !

Outstanding option right in the heart of downtown Asheville! As a local, this is one of my fair prices favorites with generous, delicious portions at dinner for under and around $ 10! They have a full bar, great staff and a comfy atmosphere, all right off the main parks and squares! This is a must eat place :-) you won’t be disappointed! The owners and management will guarantee that!

Food was below the average. Of coarse we did not order everything from the menu but I would never order Pepperoni chips again thou. Next morning I felt like I raped my digestive system the night before :(I had to take 1 pretzel home with me, and successfully put it in trash can as soon as I came home since it became very rubbery. Drinks were OK but without lemon every other order… Waiters was unfriendly too. Music band was very, very good. Very talented guys!

Yum. I love the Twisted Laurel! I have only been a handful of times but every time I end up there it is super delicious! They have a really lovely courtyard and bar. I’m a huge fan of Greek food and although this is more American/Greek it is still great! Went with some girlfriends a few weeks ago and we shared wine, greek salad and pizza and I cannot complain about a single thing. We had a server who was training so I was a little nervous at first but everything came out quick and he had great recommendations for wine. Probably be heading back there this weekend :)

If you are looking for Greek food you should get back into your car and drive to Charlotte. While I think the setting and atmosphere are nice and the place is clean, the food was just average. I won’t be returning.

Now that I’ve eaten at the Twisted Laurel twice, I have to say I probably won’t be back. The interior of the restaurant is nice, the staff is lovely, but the food is really just meh. That being said I’ve only tried the Greek section of the menu. This last time, I had the lamb and chicken combo platter. The meat was flavorless, and the chicken on the dry side. I kvetched to one of my friends about my experience the next day. She said she had gone to the Twisted Laurel and had the eggplant parmesan, and it was great; so maybe I just ordered the wrong things. Hope your experience is better!

The food is AMAZING. It’s delicious and Greek. I have major issues with the service. I don’t find it amusing to wait an hour for food. I don’t find it amusing that a «misprint,» in the drink menu, means that the Assistant Manager is condescending. I will eat Twisted Laurel, to go.

Awesome little bar/restaurant. Cool décor, great indoor and outdoor space, spectacular service, and delicious drinks. I can’t vouch for their food because I didn’t order any, but everything I saw served to nearby customers looked very good. I’d highly recommend checking this place out!

Ok this one’s my fault. I failed to adhere to my personal culinary rule; only eat Philly cheese steaks in Philly. As for my other rule: only eat Reubens in New York, I frequently ignore this rule because the Reuben is by far my favorite sandwich and I no longer live in New York so I suffer from one inadequate Reuben to another. This Philly was probably one of the worst I ever had. It was plain and void of any flavor. The Fried Pepperoni made up for it and the(11%) beer«Allagash Curieux» was excellent. And the staff was great, especially«Bear». Yes our waiter is named«Bear»(as in Sun Bear of Japan). A waiter named«Bear» is normal in a town like Asheville where weirdness is celebrated.

Love their greek salads, gyros, bartenders, live music… and KARAOKE(on Thursdays)! Love being a regular, always feel so welcome! This is one of those places where I would never hesitate to show up alone for a quick drink after work. If you ever see chicken picatta as a special, stop what you’re doing and go in and eat it, so good.

Shout out to our server Ricky! I came here first for a food tour and got to taste their Summer salad made with fresh local ingredients like apples, goat cheese, salmon, blueberries, etc. It was bomb. I came back later that night for a full meal. I ordered the ginger ale cocktail. It wasn’t too shabby. We split the appetizer sampler. I didn’t care much for the fried pepperoni because I felt it was unnecessary and the soft pretzel was a tad boring. However the cheese curds were delish! I ordered the Greek salad with grilled chicken as my main dish and LOVEDIT. The dressing was really tasty. The added a nice amount of spices and herbs along with some cheese. Loveeeeeed the outdoor atmosphere and inside is cool too.

I’ve been to Twisted Laurel(this location) three or four times now, and I feel confident giving out this five-star review. The food has always been absolutely delicious, and the service is *lightning* fast, which is a highly valuable trait for a restaurant to have when I’m going there for lunch. I always opt for the Greek-type dishes on the menu. Their spanakopita is my usual choice, but I’ve gotten the pasticchio as well. Both fantastic, both plentiful, and both served in minutes. Upon having a work lunch there around Christmas time(about 25 people), we learned that they’re not quite up to the task of easily handling a large crowd, but normally it’s just my wife and I, so that’s not a concern.

I’m basing this review off of a to-go order I made, as I haven’t had a chance to dine in this restaurant’s wonderful downtown location yet. The other night my lovely wife was meeting some friends at Twisted Laurel and asked if I wanted her to bring anything home. After checking out the menu online I was impressed by the classic American/Greek options Twisted Laurel offered. What was even more impressive was the price. The fact that 90% of the menu is less than $ 10 is unheard of for a downtown restaurant. It’s quite clear that they want to make this place accessible to everyone. I selected the Gyro Platter with a touch of reservation. It’s all too common around these spots to find these horrible, greasy, pre-sliced squares, of Gyro meat. With prices being as fair as they were I was afraid that it’d be more of the same… To my thrill and surprise it WASN’T! They were big caramelized carved chunks of that wonderful rotating meat popsicle that makes Gyros so delightful. My meal was awesome, totally impressive. I’m looking forward to visiting this space and dining in the restaurant itself. They have a massive patio and a righteous selection of beers on draft. Keep on the look out for an updated review!
